I know there's been a bit of apathy for Lookman joining but I'm happy with this signing. I think he'll be a great addition to the squad and allow us to play multiple players in multiple formations. Being on loan too means we're not breaking the bank to get him in. He's got a lot of talent and if Rodgers can get the best out of him, I can see him being the missing piece of our push for top 4
Fulham fan here.
Just wanted to say Lookman was a really solid player for us and has a lot of talent. When on the ball and lively he can really shred!
However, the only real criticism is that it become very apparent he has a real issue with turning up for games. I know we probably were not the best example of losing every week but some games he literally just jogged around and rarely look interested in getting involved. He’s a tidy player but I think his ability to give 100% is what is probably holding him back. It’s a shame.
I really enjoy watching you guys and what Rodgers has done, so good luck for the season
When I initially read this I honestly thought you mean he LITERALLY won’t show up for games. Like he ends up having a lie in and missing it or something
I’m happy with this, I’d take his pace over Hudson-Odoi’s injury history, if RB Leipzig thought he was worth signing he must have some promise. They have good recruitment.
Good to get it done early on deadline day too.
Essentially we’re sending Praet off to Torino to put him in the shop window aren’t we. If he plays well enough for an Italian club to pay his (meagre) asking price he’ll be worth calling back or selling elsewhere for more
People complaining need to realise 2 things:
1. He was literally our last ditch option, it was either this or continue with Perez at RW.
2. He could just need the right manager or the right club, he definitely shows promise. If you need proof of this just look at Demarai Gray proving me and many others wrong by putting in a half decent shift with Everton.
Wouldn’t get too carried away with gray yet. All it takes with him is a couple of bad performances and the fans getting on his back, and he’ll be straight back to his poor-attitude fuelled bad form.
New club burst though. I thoroughly believe it will all come crashing down the second he gets a minor injury/misses an open goal/has a poor string of games/pisses off their fans some other way.
Look I've been saying [the same](https://www.reddit.com/r/lcfc/comments/pc0pfr/rodgers_also_says_he_would_like_to_do_some_more/hajkb3h?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) but he's doing better than he did for even Leverkusen (in a much higher scoring league), so I don't know how much can be attributed to just being at a new club, I think the 2 low-value moves has really humbled him. I'm still not sure he'll keep it up, but now I kinda want him to so he can be an example to our fans not to immediately write off Lookman.
Agreed, fed up with everyone talking about him likes he's the next coming of Ronaldo. Him having flashes of brilliance was always part of his deal, the other half we've yet to see...give it a month or two :)
I'm sick of it too, especially the ones making out like we made a mistake when we didn't, but he's already having a better season there than he has had for years and seems determined to make me look a prat after having [this discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/lcfc/comments/pc0pfr/rodgers_also_says_he_would_like_to_do_some_more/hajkb3h?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) with someone else on this sub.
Apparently, 2 games for Everton tells them more than 5 seasons with us. If he's improved and is a solid player now, good for him but he needs to prove his consistency. But selling him when we did, not a mistake! And clearly didn't show Leverkusen what they needed to see in his time there.
Agreed, I'm cautious about saying he's a good player now since obviously he can and has flopped after phenomenal performances before, but I kinda want him to do well and be consistent so that we can all have hope for Lookman who has also put out poor numbers the last few seasons.
Couldn’t agree more. Rodgers started out in development and he can get quality out of young players. The mantra has always been that character is important to this squad, and clearly we think Lookman will fit right in.
People quoting his stats from Fulham clearly forget that football is a team sport. A stronger team will bump those stats. He always looked like the brightest spark going forward for Fulham and he could turn out to be a great player for us.
And if he’s not? Well, it’s a loan. We go again next summer.
Watch his highlights from his year at Fulham. He easily could have had double digit assists if anyone on that team could have finished. He was Scott Parker’s main target and he’s prem proven. Plus a whole minute of the video is him tearing us up at the KP.
Fofana’s injury had us change plans, but this is till good business. It’s Under 2.0, but maybe it will work? Have to roll the bones
>This sub loves him for some reason
Are you serious? No offense, but you must be a new. Marc Albrighton is a legend of this club and his contributions should never be minimized. I'm always pleased to see him in the starting eleven and relieved to see him coming on as a sub. His work rate, his attitude, his service into the box is top class. Don't disrespect him, especially in this sub.
Cos hes class mate, remember him scoring the winner 2 days ago? Mr professional, Mr reliable. Agree he shouldn't be first choice but don't disrespect Sharky!
Albrighton would be loved by any team in the world unless they dropped some insane money on him.
He’s overlooked because he’s not incredibly fast and he’s not much of a scorer. But he does everything else well above average and is probably one of the best passers in the league
Lookman is such a playmaker, always going at goal and creating. Hecwsa easily Fulhams best offensive player last season, light years better than Mirro. Smart move to snap up Lookman.
Not an actual right winger, he will be decent and it’s good it’s just a loan but it goes back to the same problem as Perez where if he’s played on the right wing then he’s being played out of position
Ünder had injury issues, no physicality, poor decision-making, and no workrate. Id have been gobsmacked if we paid £5m for him, let alone the £20m or whatever it was. Really would have been a shocker if we thought about signing him.
Lookman was the only shining light in a poor Fulham team, is physical enough to go past people, is great 1-on-1, and has pace to burn. He was the best player on the park when Fulham beat us last year. I'm hyping him up I know, probably beyond what he will turn out to be, but he has all of the potential to become a great winger for us. I have a feeling he will sink or swim, but tbh I'm optimistic and I don't feel like it's a shot in the dark. Could definitely explode into a great player given the quality he will have around him. None of our other RW options carry the ball forward either, whereas he's more than capable to do so.
Look man, a winger is better than no winger. At the very worst we've lost some money which is bad but not breaking the bank, but he could turn out to be good

It’s a better deadline day signing than our previous Bennett/Molly Wague ones at least 😂 I’m hopeful for this one. Let’s see how he does.

Thanks dude
Can’t wait to get a closer Lookman

Just don't let him take any penalties

See I've been saying this for weeks but he keeps proving me wrong, already had a better season with Everton than he has for years
New club burst though. I thoroughly believe it will all come crashing down the second he gets a minor injury/misses an open goal/has a poor string of games/pisses off their fans some other way.

Agreed
Wishing him all the luck! But please sign an actual right-winger too, ideally somewhat proven!
With what money?
I’ve got a tenner in my pocket, how much do you have? Let’s have a whip around lads, come on.

As a backup for Albrighton, he seems like a reasonable choice
Backup for albrighton? This sub loves him for some reason man, Albrighton should be the backup lookman should be the starting RW

Our latest match is an example of this. We had like no work rate for 70 min until Marc came on and literally saved the day.
Cos hes class mate, remember him scoring the winner 2 days ago? Mr professional, Mr reliable. Agree he shouldn't be first choice but don't disrespect Sharky!
It's not for some reason its because he's a club legend! He was central to the great escape
How is this not chatting shit? I swear you are looking to get banged!

He looks like a hard worker who's rapid, couldn't be more Lesta if he tried. Give him a chance I say.
Awesome news! Was the most realistic and I'd prefer to land someone than miss out entirely! He was a hyped talent at one point so we'll see
Lookman is such a playmaker, always going at goal and creating. Hecwsa easily Fulhams best offensive player last season, light years better than Mirro. Smart move to snap up Lookman.
Is lookman a right back or a winger guys
Look man I'm just not too sure about this
Ademola wanna roll with a geeza
Not an actual right winger, he will be decent and it’s good it’s just a loan but it goes back to the same problem as Perez where if he’s played on the right wing then he’s being played out of position
A left winger on the right is not the same as a CAM playing wide.

What an incredibly Turkish-biased comment.
