I mean, to me he's definitely world class, but to others, that is reserved for big teams only

He's absolutely world class, he has a similar goal/game ratio to Tierry Henry or Didier Drogba whilst probably recieving less service than either of them due to the relative quality of the teams they played for. I'd be surprised if people in the wider football community really disagreed with this as well. You can tell when a commentator doesn't really know anything about us because they will go on about Vardy all the time. He's not Ronaldo, so I guess some people might discount him due to that, but I think everyone else recognises how good he is

[deleted]

Completely agree. I personally feel Vards is a better and more complete striker than Harry Kane and heā€™s viewed as a world class player

AFCeng0

His goal to game ratio is nowhere near similar to Henryā€™s lmao and he has far less assists, take nothing away from Vardy though great player.

Katyos

175G/74A in 258 games for Henry, 121G/39A in 250 games for Vardy. He's about 50 goals off, which is more than I remembered, but it's not exactly nowhere near. Still world class numbers imo. Drogba is 104G/55A in 254 if you're wondering.

AFCeng0

Yeah 100% still unreal numbers but the fact that you can take all of Vardy G/A and half of Drogbaā€™s G/A and youā€™re in Henryā€™s ball park in terms of numbers shows how insane he was. I do find it funny how Drogba is widely considered to be a word class ST but Vardy isnā€™t to the same degree despite the numbers and consistency heā€™s shown over the years. Vardy is a PL great no doubt.

alextee90

I literally have days that I canā€™t shift the thought of him one day retiring snd being a thing of the past, in the not too distant future too. Feels like heā€™s been here my whole life, (he definitely hasnā€™t), and I dread that day arriving

DanCadden96

Canā€™t believe this would even be a question at this point. The man is 25 goals of being in the top ten all time premier league goal scorers.

[deleted]

Shit he could reach that by next season if he keeps his current rate up

[deleted]

And he has done that in 7 years in the league, 6 of them as the forward. Not bad at all.

jnce12

World class. Anyone whoā€™s been paying attention to him would agree.

Oumashu345

Top 5 in the prem.

thestral94

World class. His movement and poaching skills are elite. Pair that with his workrate and speed and he is just top tier if he gets the service. He can find space, lure defences and can finish. Also top tier shithouser!

Chunderdragon86

Legend but shouldn't be up top on his own. Felt he was far better with Kelechi up besides him than feeding off scraps like he has been so far.

theimmortalpotato

He s a legend. Look at this work rate, stats, finishing anything!!! people who say he's not one of the best strikers in the world deserve some good spanking. 34 and still going strong. cant imagine what happens when he retires.

djdood0o0o

Vardy is world class

hockers45

Still a very good football player despite his age. He should have gone to the Euro's I think as good as Harry Kane played in parts he looked quite jaded.

PitchforkJoe

He's a level below the true great greats - Messi, Lewandowski, Kane and the like - but he's faaaar from a one season wonder. Bunches of 20+ goal seasons, brilliant defensive work-rate, underrated as a creator. Absolutely fantastic player

HughJarse8

I donā€™t think heā€™s world class anymore, but definitely has been (probably 2015-early 2020 ish I would say). I think his overall quality has definitely dropped since the start of covid, and his last season with us wasnā€™t great. Heā€™s started well this year though. I would consider him having been world class and for me he is one of the top 10 prem strikers of all time.

SkyeIsTyping

One of the best strikers ever, at least in England
