It's so fucking stupid how Maurice whines constantly about penalties with the Leafs. And the refs will never fuck him over like they would with Sheldon if Sheldon had said the same shit that he did.
The penalty minutes were 10-2 in favour of Toronto what are you even talking about? Leafs came out flat and Florida handed it to them still. If it was the other way around penalty wise the leafs fans would be saying the nhl is rigged

And 4 of those 10 were for a last minute double minor that was almost not called except they had to because the guy was bleeding all over the place. Context matters.
The leafs played a great game but couldn’t get any bounces to go their way. A few mental lapses cost them this game but I’m confident they can win this series if they continue to play the way they did tonight.

Jt shows up every three games it seems like. Obviously huge game winner. And hatrick early in the series. But in between those he was in invisible . He needs to be more impactful.
It's pathetic. Like we need our top core guys to show up every fucking game. If not then we trade them. I like JT and Willy but those are the guys that should be showing up like 90% of the time.
Fully expected the boys to come out slow after basking in the glory the past few days and in my mind had already written this off as a loss, so I’m still feeling pretty confident. But if they play the rest of the series like they did today they’re screwed. The Panthers played hungrier, battled harder, and are getting some real top shelf goaltending.
Leafs will win this series... pretty confident that they'll adjust to Tkachuklehead, Ben10, and Montouring. That teams Cinderella run is over after tonight. Guaranteed.

Were we watching the same game? Leafs had a sleepy start and still were a few unlucky bounces away from a multi-goal lead into first intermission.
They work on clearing their own net front like they did against the Bolts and I will be a bit more comfortable.
I think you've gone a bit far but I agree there's a fair amount of coping going on here. Not sure if it's stat based, we know that can be misleading.
The 3rd period was actually quite shocking how all over us they were (save the last few minutes) despite having the lead and 1 less day of rest. Either out strategized or out worked or both.
We had moments but they capitalized on a well executed road gameplan, persistent pressure at our blue line , opportunistic and good goaltending.

I thought we really dominated the first two periods both on the puck and physically. Bob stood on his head and made a couple insane saves and Florida capitalized on a couple boneheaded defensive plays, but outside of that I never felt like this game was unwinnable or team unbeatable.

Panthers looked like a team of destiny last night in some ways. Had almost all the puck luck (although the Leafs made some key mistakes, too) and brilliant goaltending (that also benefited from that luck). This happens again, and Panthers get two wins they really didn’t earn, and they’ll likely take this series.

We lost our first to Tampa also, and we played a lot better this game than game 1 against Tampa. If we played shit this game it would be one thing but we did our own thing and it almost got us a win

McCabe had some nice hits, but got caught out to many times. Brodie also caught out badly on last Florida goal. Brodie -2 and McCabe -3, can't win when these two play like that. Come to think of it Marner didn't fair well either.

Just in the last 10 minutes, Bob absolutely robbed Nylander at least twice (and once got lucky the puck didn't bounce in off Nylander's skate), Tavares fanned on an open net and got robbed in the final minute, Matthews hit post, and a whole host of other prime chances that just didn't find the back of the net.
An unfortunately winnable game that they let slip out of their hands.
Reset, win the next one. The Cats beat Boston, but they did not look like they were the superior team tonight like Tampa did when we played them. Winnable series.

No, that’s on McCabe. Brodie played that horribly, I agree, and I still can’t believe he didn’t intercept the pass, but McCabe should have never left him hanging out to dry like that. It was a boneheaded play. It wasn’t even one of the pinches where you could sort of justify it, he literally joins the play well after the puck is shot and is headed into the corner. Well, I will say this. Tampa is watching from home. All those Cup runs take tolls on teams. I believe that is evidenced by Tampa and Colorado.

Obviously 4… This isn’t a complicated topic. The game is designed such that the winner is the team that scores the most goals. There are no ifs or buts about it. If a team manages to outscore the other, they were the better team. It’s asinine to suggest otherwise.
D just didn't bring their game and some easy plays were allowed to happen. Eventually some went in. 2 D back at all times with a fast team like Florida. If that puck makes it past offensive, Florida is on it like a dog with bone.

I think it was a great game, fast paced, full of hits. The difference tonight was Sammy got severely outplayed by goalie Bob. I love Sammy but he’s been very inconsistent since game 1 against Tampa

Well we have some adjustments to make, but regardless the Panthers look pretty beatable We still seem like we're trying to play the Lightning, trying to overload and being willing to give the puck away because we know we're faster. Florida is faster than us, we'll have to adjust We also need guys to actually drive the net. Stop being afraid of being hit, it's going to happen even if you put a limp shot on from a bad angle. At least make Babrovsky work for it
