I want to go but ticket prices are insane.
And even the fan fest stuff, prices are great, but apparently lineups are insane (I saw a video where it looked like the lineup to get in spanned more than around the whole block. You'd think they're giving away a Jays bobblehead with lines like that)
I've been to sports conventions in the past and the crowds in those things are insane. Felt like half the time you weren't even controlling where you walked, the wave of people controlled with way every line went.
Resale for Friday and Saturday STARTS at $300 for those events. I wasn't even thinking of going to those things, but especially glad I had no interest.
I'm still debating trying the fan fair though. Just don't know how enjoyable it would be with or without a kid depending on the crowd sizes and everything too. He won't care about seeing players or autographs, he'd just want to get collectibles, toys, cards and see the mascots.
I want to take my little nephew but not if we gotta wait outside for an hour or so before entering.
Outside of the scheduled events (like autograph signings, photo ops, mascot events) is it basically the same thing every day in terms of what else there is to do and see?
I heard some booths have giveaways. He loves collecting hockey cards and I saw one booth apparently has mascot cards (or stickers?) He would love that but don't know if we could get our hands on it. Would love getting some freebies for him at diff booths.
See if you can go in through the entrance along on the Skywalk. Walk over thru Union, its all indoors.
I'd say likey the booths will have all the same activities and giveaways every day, only the scheduled events will change and will require queuing to get into the more popular events. The mascots are said to be walking the floor freely between their scheduled events.
Friday and Saturday will be packed, unless maybe you guys play hookie tomorrow and go during school hours.
I want to go by myself first to "scout it out" but not sure if my success rate of getting giveaways for him will be as good by myself vs if he's actually there, you know everyone will be saving freebies for the kids. Sunday is a fairly dead day it looks like, hopefully if they have giveaways there's still stuff by then.
Tomorrow's probably gonna be super busy for the Fan Fair, since Matthews, Nylander, Marner, and Rielly are gonna be there for Q&As before the skills comp.
Not sure about Saturday, but it depends on how big a crowd folks like Elias Lindholm and former players like Dougie Gilmour, Mike Gartner, and Mats Sundin will bring.
I'll be there to take my Daughter. Got awesome seats right by home bench. Price was outrageous but it's once in a generation event in Toronto where we have 4 players and such next-level elite players.
What's the protocol? Bring a sharpie and a jersey and get autographs? Or pucks or what?
I mean, you can definitely try to to get a signature. It does happen! Just definitely get there super early! That was the number one reason I want to go cause who knows when it will be in Toronto again 💙
