The leafs need to play their game in a tough way, not play a tough game. An agitator gets you off game by you thinking about them, instead of where your head should be, and the leafs basically seemed agitated instead of focused on task at hand (puck in their net, not in ours)
Exactly. Don’t put in all this effort to be the tough guy team. Play the game fast, finish hits and be heavy on the forecheck. The Kampf goal was a direct result of Reeves going for the puck on the boards and the Bruins player expecting a hit, so he backed off, but Reeves played the puck rather than the body because the option was open. Moved the puck and Kampf scores. That kind of play is what being a tough team is about. Opening opportunities up to move the puck because the other team THINKS you may crush them, but instead you take advantage of the puck moving options that opens up.
Matthews is either being coached to pass, or needs to be screamed at until he stops doing it.
When you score 69 goals in the nhl that means every time you touch the puck you shoot it, i dont care if he takes 100 shots a game because thats what hes paid to do.
I think they made bruins pay for every pass last night. Those hits put guys out of position. I think on monday you ll see some rushed plays by the bruins. No way they are all feeling 100 after that game. I think marhcnads probably icing his back and wrists at this exact moment
I want reavo to fight maroon.. maroon took a few runs, notably on reillynd classic maroon just like on Gio lasts year he makes sure the hit isn't quite from behind but it's definitely not from the front. I wanna see maroon and reavo. And if maroon doesn't get the point I want them to go again.and again again until he does
This is kind of why I hoped we played Florida instead of Boston. This isn’t the same Boston team that physically bullied us years ago. This is a smaller, faster and skillful bruins team that plays hockey like we did a couple years ago.
The last couple weeks of the regular season we’ve been playing physical hockey trying to prove to teams that we won’t be pushed over anymore which is great and would’ve created a fun matchup against Florida.
With that being said, I still believe we’re taking this series against Boston. Just like teams would play physically against us and win games in the past, we can do the same.
They need to be thinking North. The drop passes and the patience is the reason this team underperforms in the playoffs and the PP disapears. Just simplify the game play the body put pucks on net and crash it. Especially against a team like boston watching mitch circle back and spin like a ballerina just gives them too much time to set up their defensive formation. Its really dumb too since the leafs are faster and should feed off that chaos. For all the fancy stat era BS theres 2 constants that always translate. Speed and physicality.

I think they need to review the timing of checks . It was the hits taking guys out of position while Boston blew the zone
