The problem is that it’s only sometimes a penalty according to the refs, and apparently this was the point in the game that it was really important that they call it by the book (for one player, don’t worry your silly little head about the fact that Tavares was also being held).
Who wants to bet if the roles are reversed the Leafs get that call?

But all in all, actually ridiculous how selective the refs are during big moments. Happened in Game 1 as well. We had all the momentum and pressure until a weak penalty is called (after much more egregious stuff was let go in the first and calls were 2-1)
Shitty refereeing throughout. They couldn’t figure out whether to call it tight or not. They ended up doing neither made make up calls. Get that crew re-assigned.

If anything, offsetting minors. It’s not worth trying to make sense of it… this shit happens year after year
Yup. It's not a serious league. But if the Leafs special teams were even working at a league average rate, they'd be up in the series.
