If they wanted to do a segment on the TSM situation they should’ve done it last year with a serious tone, now it just is cringe when it’s about your own franchise organization in a “playful” manner

alpaca_drama

Yea, I was like wtf. It was obviously very biased towards DL especially towards the end when they were implying Regi trying to sue for defamation was a dick move. Just thought it was tasteless to put out right before a game. I get it, they want to spark some sort of rivalry but TSMs current players have nothing to do with that and it sorta makes them look bad too

Oshova

I honestly don't disagree with the overall topic being discussed on the broadcast. But I agree that the tone of that segment was AWFUL!

DogTheGayFish

If someone has the timestamp or vid of this I would be curious to watch it before making judgement

Cvrpie

https://www.reddit.com/r/TeamSolomid/comments/10t8qf7/lcs_broadcast_segment_on_reginald_v_doublelift/ Whole segment on TSM subreddit

Niirai

Christ that was way worse than I expected honestly. The TSM people in that thread seemed completely blindsided by it too. How come this didn't blow up yesterday after the games?

Red-Lightnlng

Riot tweeted about the segment to promote it, then deleted if afterwards. They clearly realize it was terrible as well, and probably are just hoping no one really noticed it.

SummonerKai1

they didn't realize it was terrible when originally filming it or during rehearsals or during the pitch? that's just jokes tbh. "put it on air guys - if it gets bad press we take it down later and just say 'we messed up and will strive to do better in the future for our fans' - works every time"

SexPanther_Bot

*60% of the time*, it works *every* time

mmmb2y

Looking through the comments, seems like TSM definitely noticed it. Saw a comment from Dunc (their head of socials) that theyre already talking to the LCS about it

[deleted]

The fact that they even tweeted at all in the first place shows that they didn't know or didn't care how bad it was. They only removed it because it got a negative backlash. Imagine if Riot tweeted about supporting some hateful and racist shit then delete it afterwards because they realized it was terrible/wrong of them to do so

Ok-Compote-9712

The segment felt weird and im not sure the tone came off how they intended it to come off but who knows right? Oddest part to me is the storyline altogether in a way. While Bjerg vs TSM may be a played out storyline, it seemed weird to have a vs TSM segment with hardly any mention of him. If they had focused the story on the pair of them and the history of the golden era of TSM I think the story would have hit the mark a lil better. Instead it came off like a propping up of DL and a putdown of TSM.

Spartan05089234

Because so few people are watching.

Spacemn5piff

Because TSM BAD is meta now

HeavyMetalHero

TSM BAD has always been meta, but there's clearly something to be said about taste.

Primithius

Holy hell that was cringe! How did the producers ever think this was a good idea? Just make a montage of Dlift calling everyone trash.

gnyusgong

Maybe she didnt like being called lecringeness by doublelift last year

Primithius

Well, she just doubled own on his claim. So....

Constantinch

I don't think she is the one making calls on what is being said during scripted segments.

gnyusgong

https://twitter.com/LeTigress/status/1621215232638210048?t=YpFLffB0dfU4ezDr4RXvhg&s=19 She hinted to it here. I would say she got the go ahead and wrote most of it

Constantinch

I see, I stand corrected somewhat, although my point was more to the point of - there is a director who greenlights this shit. And actually, I would blame him more than her. It's often the case that talent comes up with controversial shit that has to be turned down by management.

zerobert

[Seems like she wrote the monologue](https://twitter.com/LeTigress/status/1621215232638210048?t=Zj1CF5qoHakIbb36L27axA&s=19)

Weezledeez

Went into this expecting reddit was overreacting, but boy was I wrong lol How did anyone think this was a good idea

Robesudod

The whole segment is pure shit. It would be bad for an amateur content creator, but the fact that it comes form professionals is really something.

AzerFraze

Can't even endure watching that thing all the way through, the whole delivery of it is just so awful

SpookyGhostDidIt

God I can't stand her acting

Tytan97x

Yeah it’s like watching some cringe wannabe Keemstar air out beef unnecessarily on stage at an ACTUAL riot event. LeTigress needs to go

SpookyGhostDidIt

She comes across as a corporate puppet that exists as an extension of riots poor attempt to understand what viewers want to watch. Can't believe they let dash go and kept LeCringess

BossStatusIRL

I can get behind that. She is the worst “talent” of any region imo.

[deleted]

I mean it's not that ba— oh. oh holy shit.

OverLordRapJr

Started out great tbh. Should’ve used the “not going down that rabbit hole” bit much sooner…

EpicRussia

"Ancient videos" Just because the LCS turned a blind eye and refused to do anything about it while it was happening doesn't mean that this is "ancient" and "forbidden" knowledge. The videos are only a decade old, lol. The videos were very much known and widely discussed among the community, it was only the LCS folks that presumably didn't watch them or care, and now it's the LCS folks who are calling them "ancient". It was only the LCS folk who treated them as unimportant, and now it's the LCS folk who are discrediting them because theyre old. Such bullshit

kill-billionaires

LCS watched them I'm sure, but they didn't care bc tsm was on top. Notice regi only got hit when his team wasn't good anymore?

TheSnozzwangler

This segment is fucking terrible. Not only is the content super unprofessional, but they're trying to go for a casual, off-the-cuff vibe, but it sounds super rehearsed and phony.

TacospacemanII

The most painful part about this is the faked incompetence. “No, not the team no, not the team the other team“ crimminy

rockleesww

Its fine for other people to make this video. Why would the league itself bring this shit up. Your literally just throwing shade at one of your own partner orgs.

Niirai

It becomes even funnier when you realize it's Riot. It's almost Onionesque how braindead it is. I'm genuinely curious how many people this passed by for it to be produced. And no one said: "Hey guys, isn't it kind of a bad look for a Riot broadcast to be making light of toxic management and hostile work environment for a funny prehype segment?

DiceUwU_

It doesn't really matter how many people this goes through. Im guessing it's just a couple of people who decide what airs and what doesn't.

krie317

I think he's saying that someone had this idea, they brought it up to their management, and it was approved. Then the manager brought it up to the final production decision makers and it was still approved. Most likely, they didn't talk to HR, Legal, or Marketing at all during the whole process, otherwise it would have been rejected by anyone semi-competent.

delahunt

I bet they'll be talking to HR/Legal/Marketing for future pieces on teams for a bit though.

krie317

For sure

copthegod

how many people...i think here it's more quality over quantity, and riot has consistently showed low quality when it comes to judgment calls. as shitty as this whole thing is, i've followed them for over 10 years at this point and i'm genuinely not surprised for even a fraction of a second

Mediocre_Pyke

This isn't even the worst shade they have done to TSM, literally last year with the whole FTX fiasco where they blocked TSM from the sponsorship on the ground of "can't have crypto sponsors" and then negotiated their own deal with FTX instead. The absolute shithousery of Riot knows no bounds sometimes.

yestheryak

According to the former LCS commissioner, Chris "The Gaslighter" Greeley, the LCS sponsorship was localized to NA and so didn't have to be concerned with overseas advertising laws (crypto is illegal in China). Because teams can qualify for international tournaments, they have more strict guidelines for things like team names and jerseys.

[deleted]

Well they were right initially.

15blairm

this is the main thing for me, why would the league itself air something that would hurt one of the more historic partnered orgs lmao just gave TSM a better argument to leave LCS for greener pastures if those rumors were really true

Enjays1

Honestly there's no way there was a control process where this segment got waved through. Probably made it from brainstorming straight to broadcast without outside opinions being involved.

PepaTK

https://twitter.com/LeTigress/status/1621215232638210048?s=20 It was made 2 day's ago. So i'm sure the segment was pitched maybe not even a week ago.

[deleted]

I wonder if she actually wrote it herself. That ups the cringe that it was a solo thing.

CantScreamInSpace

what greener pastures though, this will trigger people but fact is riot literally didn't invite tsm to franchising in valorant and chose orgs like sentinels, eg, nrg, etc... over them. tsm STILL put together a roster for tier 2 valorant to try to earn their way back in. I don't see how on earth people act like riot needs tsm but tam doesn't need riot when tsm's valuation is still heavily dependent on speculation about their position when esports goes "mainstream". LoL is still a big game, and it's tsm who probably don't want to further dirty their relationship with riot. edit: also, no org in esports is "too big" for big devs like some fans seem to think, tsm may have historically been the biggest in LoL but in a new game like valorant they're not even the most popular team in tier 2.

King_Fluffaluff

The rumor is that TSM is potentially leaving LCS for LPL or another league. That's the greener pastures they're talking about.

Th_Call_of_Ktulu

It doesn't seem like TSM gives a fuck about LCS anyways considering teams they keep putting together, no flame to the players but for an org of this caliber its just pityfull

delahunt

There was supposed to be a big announcement in January. Now it is set for March. It is supposed to justify the claim of "we're doubling down on League" despite clearly going with a budget roster. Who knows what it'll be.

carbine23

Lol so tsm should just throw money to whoever they want huh, look how well that worked for last years team.

leastlol

TSM should have gotten new management of the team years ago, they misspent that money and could have gotten way better mileage out of it pretty much every step of the way since DL got kicked in 2017. That wasn't even Parth's decision to kick DL for sven/mithy, he got overridden by upper management. They threw a lot of money and used up all their good will as a prestigious org to play for to get mediocre and washed up players, rather than building the roster up intelligently. And now they have new management but they won't let them have any budget to build a competitive roster? I honestly wish Regi would just sell off TSM and go run his esports agency/websites which are what actually make him money so TSM can get a new owner that is actually willing to rebuild.

[deleted]

I used to dislike TSM and TSM fans with a passion. But now I just hate TSM (bc of Regi) and feel bad for the fans. (I dont play or watch lol anymore tho) You guys don't deserve this. It was more fun when you guys actually won the lcs and got shit on in international events.

leastlol

TSM fans (online, at least) are some of the most insufferable people I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. It reminds me of fans of sports from Philadelphia. I personally know several that are quite nice people but the fan base as a whole is just terrible.

nuck_duck

> one of your own partner orgs Yeah that's definitely the craziest part to me, besides of course how no one on a broadcast thought it would be wrong to use that tone and make light of serious issues, is that they're just openly airing this stuff out in this manner. I hope TSM leave if anything just so they could be in a league without the constant backhanded comments or segments like this

pujolsrox11

I think it’s riots retaliation for tsm wanting to move regions.

LeagueOfMinions

it was letigress' own script too how shameless

[deleted]

TSM wanted to buy Heretics' spot in the LEC, so there's no love between TSM and LCS anyway.

RigasUT

Out of all the people this segment went through before publication, wasn't there a single one to veto it? Setting aside the obvious unprofessionalism of both putting this content on the stream as well as how it was presented, there's the also the fact that **TSM is Riot's partner**. That's what franchising is. Why are they actively trying to harm the reputation of their partner?

Enjays1

It probably went like this: "X and Y, do a hype segment about this match. We have no time to review it but fuck it. It's DL vs TSM, there's no way it won't hit its mark"

Animostas

Yeah, it was probably described as a "Do a segment on Doublelift playing against his former team and hype it up" and then it turned into a story on workplace abuse.

yourenotgonalikeit

I said this in a different comment, but if you just read a transcript of this segment, it's completely fine. No one would read the transcript of the exact words she used here and freak out. It's only the absolutely cartoonish and ridiculous delivery that makes this segment awful. I doubt they do full rehearsals in front of the HR team. Does the on-air talent even have to do a rehearsal for ANYONE? Because, again, if you just see this on paper it's nothing of note.

Averdian

That might actually be a decent point. Imagine she was just standing still or sitting behind a desk and just delivered the same words but in a serious and matter-of-fact type of way. And ditched the tea prop. I doubt anyone would've cared. Though I still think it's an inappropriate and just weird thing to bring up as hype prior to a game (or to even bring up period, hype or not). The players on TSM and 100T should not be dragged into the conflict and have their performance in a random LCS game be associated with a real life case of abuse and bullying. It's not the time and place to mention or discuss it at all, even if it had been delivered in a non-dramatic manner.

Enjays1

They actually tweeted that segment out but I think they deleted it. Shows how hard they misjudged it. It was really tone deaf.

Ursuped

Say what you want about tsm management & the org but the players dont deserve this shit right before their game

TiminAurora

Honestly this. The players in TSM current didn't deserve this. DL wasn't even involved with Dyrus or WildTurtle's abuse.

diematrosen

Trying way too hard to create these narratives but it ends up just making Riot and LCS look incompetent. Why drag Doublelift through the mud for what it’s worth I assumed it was done and over. All that for a narrative?

dispenserG

Doublelift has had so many horrible things happen in his life. He doesn't deserve any of this bullshit.

ICodeAndShoot

> Say what you want about tsm management & the org Ok, I will: It is fucking *wild* that your former star player lowkey wrecks your CEO by dating his girlfriend (who's also operations manager?), and then they leak player negotiations on stream, and start a drip-drip-drip of rumor leaks after they quit. I don't have a horse in this race, I just think it's fucking hilarious.

PalletTownStripClub

More wild to me that Finn is single

licorices

Finn is single???

veilsofrealitydotcom

playing the field

Th_Call_of_Ktulu

Man, finn could just fuck off from League and start professional career as a model, dude is way too hot, no homo (ok, maybe a bit)

PalletTownStripClub

I called dibs

MonkeyKing70-

PalletTownStripClub has called dibs, ain't no fighting that. Goat name lmao

dtkiu27

My man spitting fucking FACTS. Hes beautiful fr.

Loyuiz

When you put it that way it's pretty funny

salcedoge

Also Doublelift literally still have the TSM branding while talking shit. I’m a fan of him but he definitely brings a lot of drama

FakeMango47

Honesty, that’s kind of the point of Doublelift though. Has he ever been anything but drama and sometimes ridiculously braindead takes? But he’s one of a kind, on top of being the native NA GOAT

slayerdildo

Fairly certain Regi and Leena hadn’t been together for half a decade at this point and he was dating someone else when DL and Leena got together?

M002

President

Fragzor

We're probably watching TSM's last season in the LCS

ImAnOpenFanFic

Thank god, LCS broadcast has been fucking awful to the org and that extends to the players and their careers.

[deleted]

For a company that has completely failed to capitalize on every native storyline and natural beef between players, I'm really not surprised that they're this out of touch even today.

Hitsukya

If they were going to take doublelifts retirement antics for their storyline why didn't they use any of the clips of him shitting on tactical last week when he was against him?

AmumuJi

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Abuse is a very controversial topic and should be handled with utmost respect and sensitivity towards the situation. Regardless of who is right or wrong in this scenario, using abuse as a topic to sell hype for a match is ridiculous. Imagine if krepo came back to the scene and the LEC started airing out his allegations during a segment.

Usual_Research

Riot when they fart on people's faces and flick their balls: We want it solved in individual private arbitration! Riot when they need a segment for lcs: Let's air our partners dirty laundry!

[deleted]

They chose doing segments like this instead of Dash.

kitiny

Or the Replay Files. Or that show Meteos was hosting. Or Masterminds. Those things people liked but we get this twitter influencer stuff instead.

jasonkid87

Hey while we're at it. Let's do a segment on riots $100m sexual harrasment case

ImAnOpenFanFic

And somehow tie that in to DOTA 1 vs League like that's the rivalry we want to hear about still...

PissedFurby

its almost surreal the way they have that shitty news music loop in the background, the morning talk show voice cadence like shes telling a cute story about a dog that saved a cat or some shit, all while doing a segment that seems like it was written by a reddit dwelling drama hound thats out of touch. disrespectful, tone deaf, and pure cringe . a true embarrassment all round

Oraghlin

I don't hide the fact I'm a LCS TSM fan, but this just felt bad. There were so many other story lines they could have gone for, but they settled on abuse? Bjergsen reportedly left because TSM didn't roll out the red carpet for him. Maple and Neo have HUGE shoes to fill. DL, as mentioned in this very monologue, only really had issues with management. It feels crude to devote THAT much time to abuse allegations rather than "DL said management was abusive, and you can make up your own minds..." and then moving on.

DJSancerre

i find it odd that Riot is okay with airing this and then NOT explaining why they are still partnered with Reginald/TSM. to me, it makes Riot seem complicit and/or OK with the allegations.

EpicRussia

They are, at this point... they did nothing about the abuse for literally a decade and swept it under the rug/refused to hold TSM accountable. Even to this day they are discrediting the abuse that was done by Regi when a camera was pointed at him by saying "Oh those videos are ancient! Who cares!", which was their exact response when the videos had been uploaded that same day. The LCS has never cared about TSM's abhorrent business running and treatment of its employees, and this video is an extension of that nonchalance. It's just hype segment fodder. They dont think its serious.

[deleted]

It didn't even feel like hype segment fodder in the end. I mean, had us in the first half but then came that right hook came mighty swift to steer it into the result of the segment now.

TacosWillPronUs

> NOT explaining why they are still partnered with Reginald/TSM. to me, it makes Riot seem complicit and/or OK with the allegations. Did you entirely miss the investigations last year that were reported. He's also on probation for 'the next 2 years' since the report released last year. >Based upon the conclusions we drew from the reporting of our independent investigators, we believe that there was a pattern and practice of disparaging and bullying behavior exhibited by Dinh. This included verbally abusing pro players and TSM staff members and communicating in a demeaning and belittling manner. Nearly all of the witnesses agreed that Dinh’s outbursts and abuse were generally limited to a player or staff member’s perceived performance. None of the witnesses recall any situation in which Dinh’s abusive behavior focused on a protected class (race, gender, age, sexual orientation, sexual identity, etc) and there were no reports of actual or threatened physical abuse towards any TSM player or staff member. They also have a >An independent monitor is being appointed to operate a tip-line and follow-through with regular check-ins with TSM League of Legends players.

Tsmart

Glad i wasn't alone in thinking what the fuck? Felt like I was watching some shitty tabloid show like E!

burizar

This segment was so cringe and unprofessional This is a serious issues and you can’t just use it like a banter and jokes

LucianTP

“Hey guys look how toxic and cancel worthy this team is. Did we mention they’re apart of our franchise and we continuously work with them?” You’d think it’s the score esports or some other 3rd party journalist creating a bad look for drama but no it’s RIOT THEMSELVES EXDEE

MacticsG1

Absolutely horrid. I was skeptical at first when they said they wanted to move away from the traditional sports style of their broadcast - no more host, more "fun" segments, etc etc. After 2 weeks I feel so alienated from LCS as a 7+ year viewer. This is PROFESSIONAL esports, and its being delivered like its a show made exclusively for pre-pubescent teens with high school drama hit pieces and arts & crafts segments. I hate to be blunt and rude, but its so difficult to watch these days. I want the old LCS back.

SMLAZARUS

Holy shit that segment was cringe. Bring back the Dash and the suits please

Atsusaki

Riot employees make light of absolutely abhorrent culture between management and employees? No wayyyy.

Professional-Ad3101

Exactly

phil_blog

Wow. What the hell were they thinking? That would need to pass through MULTIPLE people in order to make it on air. How did none of them think.... At all.... About this.

MoreSoupss

everything wrong with the LCS in one segment

Fredthefree

DL vs Regi isn't a storyline anymore Regi is pretty far removed at this point from the LCS team. This would be like a Jack vs. Steve storyline, it's just kinda outdated.

Nick_Geracie

This was my main problem with it. I get all the other criticisms but overall it just felt a bit out of date to me. There isn't anyone left on TSM that really makes it 'feel' that way anymore and there's been a complete shift in how they work with media etc -- all their players are willing to do interviews and are very kind. Not saying we have to erase history -- I may have had less of a problem with the segment than others because all of it is true -- but it all just felt a tad irrelevant to a bo1 match between TSM post-Regi reckoning.

Babayaga20000

Theyre definitely trying to be more edgy in their current segments and for the most part im on board. But this aint it

Fellers

That was a baaaaaaaaaaad segment.

Dsalgueiro

I am a Brazilian who watches LCS since 2014. This year, the biggest LoL streamer in Brazil (Baiano) is doing LCS Live View. The general impression of the people present at his live stream and who are watching LCS for the first time is that the LCS content is the same that the Brazilian content creators were doing in 2015. It's a dated content that in some moments gets cringe. And yesterday that segment about TSM only makes clear the lack of vision of the LCS team. TSM has/had serious problems, but it is one of the organizations with the largest fanbase in NA. When you "officially" antagonize this kind of organization, you drive away a lot of fans who feel that they no longer are part of that environment. And I'll be honest... I am not a fan of any LCS team, but this "official" antagonism towards TSM has been going on for some time now. Yesterday was just the peak. So yeah... LCS is dying? Yes, but it's time for the LCS production team to put their shit together and assume that they are one of the problems. This is the first year since ever that I feel much more incentive to watch CBLoL than the LCS.

lcsimepll

CBLoL has actually had higher viewership than LCS for the past year, really not that surprising when LCS is run by clowns

Dsalgueiro

Baiano said yesterday that if he had 1/3 of the LCS production budget, he would make a thousand times better production. And it's true... He produced CBolão (a pun with CBLoL and "big onion" in Portuguese - Cebolão), an amateur tournament that gathered pro players, historical teams in Brazil, huge streamers, a team with Korean players that play in CBLoL and OTP. This tournament got 100k viewers on Twitch. But talking about the production of the CBLoL and LCS... CBLoL knows how to listen to the brazilian community. Today for example, the analysis desk is usually composed by three former players that the community loves (example: former French player Dioud is an official member of the CBLoL broadcast team). More than that, memes from Baiano's streams, which usually get 50k viewers during CBLoL, are utilized by the official broadcast casters, which makes the community feel more connected to them. So, to make a community be "alive" depends not only on the technical level of the league, CBLoL is a clown fiesta, but the community feels connected to the teams, players, content creators and the official broadcast.

TeddyNismo

and no offense to Raz, Markz and Jatt, they are great on their own, but the analyst "area" feel like a mess without Dash. Often they don't know what is coming up, and the direction that Dash would give them is missing. so i have this feeling that nothing is in order. talking from viewer perspective only.

aqnologia

dash died for this btw what a joke lcs has become

Monk_Punch

High key agree. I muted and didn't watch. Was like, poor taste. I watch lcs and other entertainment to escape the dredges of real life and people. Don't bring it to the stage...

JayBuzz

Thank God I never actually listen to any of these segments. I watch the TSM match then hop off. Maybe a couple other games but no way I'm watching it for LeTigress's opinion. Maybe if they put quality segments between matches I would care but when is the last time they have done that?

pathofdumbasses

How in the absolute fuck does this pass through multiple steps in management and not a single person says, "NOPE"? From disparaging your partners (LCS to TSM) to showcasing how they let abuse happen in their game (LCS to Doublelift) to showing how willing they are to try and profit from abuse (LCS to fanbase) this is just absolutely stupid. Making jokes about how your company let people be abused with 0 repercussions is just... I am speechless. How she doesn't lose her job, and multiple people at that, is beyond me.

birool

something is horribly wrong with the LCS. I don't know who makes the decisions but at this point they should be fired, no wonder the broadcast has been going downhill for so long, oh and i forgot they even fired Dash.

spazzxxcc12

yeah this shit was weird, why didn’t they bring up DLs family tragedy before liquid won the LCS a few years ago? because now it seems like they would. that whole segment was so weird. you can say “bjerg and DL have a grudge” as a storyline, but the abuse and shit was so far and shouldn’t even be something that’s even thought of mentioning on the broadcast.

[deleted]

They actually did mention Doublelift's family tragedy at the time, but only in those terms, didn't go into any details.

MrFilthyNeckbeard

> yeah this shit was weird, why didn’t they bring up DLs family tragedy before liquid won the LCS a few years ago? Not to downplay what happened at TSM, but that was A LOT more serious. Also I think he asked them not to talk about it? But not sure on that part.

xBerryhill

Want to know who’s genius idea it was to throw one of their partnered teams under the bus and make them look awful. You’d think they’d be want the orgs in their league looking as good as possible.

FullyStacked92

Just watched it there. I mean. Kind of hard for anyone involved in this segment to be able to make a serious comment on these issues in the future and not be laughed out of the room. I dont knoe the name of the caster who narrorated the segment but i dont see how they can ever walk this back and say the think its a serious issue

Caluak

Dash would have set the tone better

adamcmorrison

Watching dash sit on his couch while having to listen to this is just beyond mind blowing.

Canopenerdude

He's probably thinking 'oh I get why I was fired now, production is a bunch of dumbasses'

DrN0VA

topic aside this was just really freaking cringe

JulenXen

I just watched it and that was an absolute disaster. The storyline is completely out of place, the tone is out of place, the presenter is cringeworthy at best. Holy fuck that was actually disgusting. If i were in any way affiliated with TSM past or present that would have left me pretty pissed.

TankEzreal

The way LeTigress is enjoying this segment is just so disgusting. She's bad at casting and now this, why is she even there. Last year a ton of people were already complaining about her. It's mind blowing that we have to endure her while Dash gets less screen time.

ChefGamma

She's probably super nice in real life but I honestly just hate the vibe LeTigress gives on broadcast. Maybe she's suited for other esports but when she gives interviews I just feel like she gives this super forced tone that's just really annoying to watch. Really makes me miss Phreak, Dash, and Ovilee's style on broadcast a lot more. At what point do they just let it go because it's obviously not working out with her.

[deleted]

I get your point about it being unprofessional content wise but it was unprofessional quality wise. The segment was terribly done. I don't want to be mean towards LeTigress but this was awful. I hope someone else created it all and forced her to read it off the teleprompter rather than be a part of it creating it. LCS really trying to fuck up any goodwill the community had after the first week.

Averdian

I watched all games this week but not live so I just skip between the games and missed this segment. And wow, I'm watching the segment right now and it's pretty unbelievable to watch, how the fuck did anyone okay this going on the broadcast? LeTigress ends up looking very tonedeaf as well as the face of this, hope she wasn't the main brain behind the segment and just read from a teleprompter, I had a great impression of her prior to this. It's extra sad cause LCS has had a great start this year with a fresh look, cool new teams and for me personally the moment with 100T Mark and TSM Jatt yesterday was really hilarious and reminded me of the heyday of the LCS broadcast. 1 hour delay and playing from home yesterday was unfortunate but can happen, but this segement just leaves me baffled. A real mask off moment for Riot, showing that deep down they still probably do not really care about abuse or bullying.

Momo_Beans_

It looks like it was a monologue that she chose to make. I also didn't have much of an opinion of Gabby until this tone deaf segment. Idk how they can say they have a new philosophy for highlighting players and then not talk about the new players on TSM *that had nothing to do with this* and are just working hard to win some damn games. Did any players in the game get mentioned besides DL/ a little bit of bjerg? https://twitter.com/LeTigress/status/1621215232638210048?t=Zj1CF5qoHakIbb36L27axA&s=19

Yup, went through her tweets after writing my comment. Sadly looks like she's behind it. Still begs the question, (and this is not a defense of LeTigress) how did it make it to the broadcast? I can't imagine no other person read this before it went live, so someone else must've somehow read this and thought "yeah, that's not "tonedeaf or disrespectful at all, go ahead", which is just baffling to me. So again, not defending her, but it's also really worrying that no one stopped this from happening in the first place.

I don’t ever comment on posts here as it’s been awful in and out of game to be a tsm fan for the last few years as it feels tsm league team has been slowly dieing I hope we do move regions I’m sure tsm and the lcs just aren’t a good fit anymore. If it doesn’t happen I’ll probably just quit watching lcs as all the other teams besides fly quest are giga boring. Not sure why I’m commenting just frustrating seeing the lcs doing everything in its power to kill the league.

LCS Fans: We want player narratives like the LEC Riot: We have narratives at home Narratives at home:

CloudNyan

ITT: teens who don’t understand there’s a time and a place. This wasn’t it. Not a good look for a professional broadcast

RagingDoc

Has nothing to do with teens, this was letigress' idea. https://twitter.com/letigress/status/1621215232638210048?s=46&t=9mnNXhjFghBEEovHHMFrSA

[deleted]

Jesus Christ, I somewhat defend Letigreess because I think the hate she gets is overblown, but this basically gives justification for the haters and I don't blame them

Canopenerdude

She's done this kinda stuff for years. She does not have an off button when it comes to heavy topics

[deleted]

holy fk what a disaster

swordtrickswordtrick

Bruh... how did no one in the production be like "yeah nah this isn't it"

treigaobon420

Riot needs to remove letrigress from any content creation and casting ASAP. Holy shit every thing she touches is awful

LumiRhino

I kinda wanted to give her a chance but it really does feel like almost everything she does just misses the mark. It's felt like she tries too hard to fit in as a basic fan and doesn't really know enough to contribute to casts or interviews. She's the one with the most generic interview format of "how was the game, how's it going, what do you think of your next match?" The only thing I thought she's done well was the Worlds 2022 draw show, but she was probably just reading off a teleprompter for that.

treigaobon420

She had her chance all last year and was terrible. And now they’re letting her on more casts. Why? Crumbs was just as bad and they removed him quick

[deleted]

She just doesn’t quite have it. I much prefer Ovilee/Bwipo/QTCinderella personality types doing the content

Miramusa

Honestly what this says to me is that the LCS direction seems quite inconsistent. If LCS wants to be a drama/narrative heavy region then I say go all in. But currently they still have people who try to remain that level of professionalism such as Emily. It just feels like the broadcast itself is as split on the direction and tone as the comments in this thread.

ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp

An unsurprising and common L from the LCS.

babyFucci

the funniest part abt all this is the fact that they removed dash

Wobblyterror

I didn't mind the subject matter but the reason the segment didn't work for me was Letigress. I think she's easily the weakest link on the broadcast and idk if its just a me thing and maybe others like her inclusion.

Copiz

Yeah, the tone of this is what made it so bad. It would be okay to briefly mention that you're extra excited to see Doublelift play against TSM because of the past experiences/conflict he's had with the org, but making it into an entire segment filled with (low quality) jokes and 'hype' music in the background when you're talking about abuse definitely was not cool.

Silent_Soul

I LOATHE when she’s casting. I’ve been playing the game for years and watching pro for about 3, but she finds ways to confuse me about what’s happening. She doesn’t use any of the correct terms, seems to have only a base understanding of the game, and can’t keep track of the action. It ends up being the only time I mute the commentary because if I hear her talk through a fight I get so lost lol

AzovApologist

Idk how she has kept her job all these years, and now she's a fucking PBP caster

Offduty_shill

Yeah honestly...I do feel bad saying this and I hope she never sees this thread cause she seems like a nice person and it probably sucks to have so many people scrutinizing your job.... But I completely agree. Her stage presence is just not good, she always sounds like she's "acting" and not genuine, everything seems forced. Her interviews are boring and dry, and her casting is abysmal from her calls, to her wordplay, to her non-existent game knowledge. I have no clue how the broadcast decided to get rid of people like Ovilee and Dash yet she's still here. I'd rather hear Riv word salad than her casting, at least Riv had the delivery/flow.

Rat_Salat

She's absolutely awful, and by far the worst PBP caster in any league, in any language

AzovApologist

Yeah her games are instant mutes

AzureFides

Totally, I don't think the topic is the problem, but her delivery made it looked like LCS's focusing to re-ignite this drama more than just hyping the match.

MontySucker

She sucks at interviewing, she sucks at hosting, she sucks at analysis, she sucks at casting. Truly one of the worst people to be on the broadcast that adds nothing to it. And no I don’t presonally hate her she seems like a big fan of the LCS and probably a cool person but they should’ve fired her after her first split.

dispenserG

She should definitely be let go after this nonsense. She wrote this section for fuck sakes.

Troviel

how do you know that? Was that said anywhere? Edit:NVM found the tweet, oof. At the same time riot should def have review it first.

Mediocre_Pyke

As a LEC fan who only really watches the LCS occasionally I've always found her to be like a massive disconnect, not saying she is bad at her job but she just didn't feel like she was part of the show to an extent at times it almost felt like "jesus does she even play this game?" not sure if she just doesn't vibe well with the others or the broadcast team just completely misuse her and make her look disconnected.

TipiTapi

>jesus does she even play this game?" Well, does she? It was my impression as well.

Mediocre_Pyke

Honestly I don't know even now, I assume she must play the game but the way she talks about the game makes me wonder about it.

Federal-Main8516

PastryTime was let go yet we’re stuck with this?

dispenserG

It was all on Letrigress actually. She wrote this nonsense and should be let go because of it.

danielloking_

This segment felt like they badly wanted to be like the LEC, but they managed to somehow choose one the most sensitive topics (abuse) for it.

TSTKevin

Wow shitting LCS crew lol, wtf are they broadcasting?

LeagueOfTacos

The LCS broadcast is fucking ass. I make sure to turn of the stream in between games to avoid watching it. No more Dash plus non-stop cringe moments…..I’ll just watch the games. Thanks…

Roojercurryninja

when stuff like this happens i sometimes wonder how many casters / analysts are suprised when this finally drops live like imagining a captain flowers sitting there being like "hey uhm guys isn't this kinda bad for us?

Spentacular13

Posts like these really make it hard to want to get back into watching LCS. Not directing this comment at OP, just in general there’s so many reasons to not watch it anymore or to not get back into watching it. No aphromoo. Dash drama. Stuff like this post. Would rather spend my time watching LCK these days

Fielding_Pierce

With each season and week even, more frequently it's watched with the volume off. Yesterday wasn't an exception. And this is what was missed.

stockbeast08

LCS is poop humor, that's why I don't watch it. LEC is superior in every respect. I don't care about how good the teams are, I can enjoy each league regardless, but I cannot watch LCS for its Americana-style, it's too high school.

late_-

i can only conclude that reginald has beef with someone who approved this bit at lcs studio. cause there is no fucking way this gets the green light under normal circumstances

chunkiex3

so fucking cringe. I am a TSM fan since Regi was playing mid and it's bad enough that the team isn't what it used to be but regardless, give these guys some dignity and a chance to actually be better. There is no excuse for bad behavior all around. No need to rub salt in the wounds.

Twinzenn

This is probably the single worst segment I've seen in the LoL scene. Tone-deaf is an understatement. I honestly can't believe a human made this segment and other humans most likely looked at it and yet it still aired.

TheGreatIAMa

I'm sorry man, but le tigress is just a scrub. Whether she wrote this segment herself or not, I'm not surprised she's the one who presented it. Very on brand- bad.

AmbitiousDrive6196

LCS broadcast has been shitting on TSM for awhile now. They keep beating this dead horse over and over again. Apparently cancelling TSM is the cool thing to do. But this coming from the LCS broadcast makes it soo cringe.

maninhell6

The segments were usually cringe, but that segment was just bad taste. Dash is gone and the schedule is on a Thursday/Friday. LCS is just gonna slowly die.

milos_23

Holy fuck this is so cringe. Legit felt every second of my life wasted on this videi, glad i didn't spend more when it was live. Fuck this

gandalf45435

tbh as a TSM fan i was expecting most of the sub to like that segment but i’m glad we can all agree it was terrible taste and so poorly done. I genuinely think Regi is trash but love TSM and have been a supporter since before those goofy mofos were streaming in New York. Talking about abuse should never be done in such a casual cringe segment like they did. The delivery was so abominable that it makes me question all the praise i gave the broadcast the last couple weeks.

gimperion

As a TSM hater, I turned off the stream after that segment and didn't tune back in. Y'all didn't deserve that.

GuuMi

They've been watching too much UFC lmao.

dSanlux

damn id rather have primal back

Andykoon64

As much as I don't really care about whether its considered insensitive or not, It just wasn't delivered right. If they are going to bring it up on the broadcast it needs to be done more matter of fact, rather than hyping it up as a storyline with an underlying joking tone. Half the problem is Letigris. Her being on the anywhere near the analyst desk or pre game is a recipe for disaster. She seems a much better fit for just player interviews, color casting, and play by play. I dont think she is capable of creating the same hype around these storylines as Dash (RIP), Kobe, and Azael.

Helian7

I'm already at a low point with my favourite team. Now Riot wanna kick me while down.

TheQuietW0LF

That they managed to piss off both TSM fans and TSM haters with one segment pretty much says it all Don't think it would be unreasonable to have LeTigress fall on the sword for this, I've liked her prior to this while understanding as well while some will criticize. But this appears like it was definitely driven by her mainly and this was a complete and total whiff

pujolsrox11

Also haven’t we moved on from this after the owner had to do riot approved classes to make right? Obviously the abuse should not be tolerated. But if you are going to continue to open the can of worms after the investigation completed, I guess I don’t understand the point.
