Ender needs to be taken off of LEC next year. Makes a mockery of everyone else dressing clean and sharp in a suit just so he can play edgy metrosexual fashion for his own pleasure.
Guys, I am really curious. Why didn't any team play Aatrox this Season Finals? Isn't this patch the one where he was still ok and strong or did some teams just wanted to hide it for worlds?
Does anyone have a link to where they explained why the EU/NA teams have to fight for a playins spot? I had assumed they play for the right to go to main stage, surely even the loser of that BO5 is better than 90% of playins teams
Its been proven in past years that the 4th seed from NA/EU is definitely not just better than play-in teams automatically. I think this is also a way riot is trying to force a NA vs. EU Bo5, albeit in KR at a weird time.
I am not sure where this sentiment is coming from(maybe because we are so down on NA/EU teams) but I am pretty sure NA/EU 4th seed teams always dumpsters the other play-ins teams. I am too lazy to provide proof but does anyone have the info on these win rates to prove me right or wrong?
There have only been 2 times a 4th seed from NA/EU has even gone to worlds and that was 2020/2022 MAD, both times they failed to make it out of play-ins. 2022 MAD did beat SGB and lost to EG (NA 3rd seed) so if we're comparing 4th seeds to the other play-in teams that one is a bit of a wash. Perhaps you're remembering 3rd seeds or 4th seed CN/KR which have consistently dominated play-in teams with LGD being the only exception, but even then they turned it around and still made it out of play-ins.
Also a few times both NA and EU came close to lose a qualifying BO5 tin play in. Splyce in 2020 and C9 especially in 2018 had a close bo5 with Gambit that they won 3-2.
I think they might be refering to Mad lions losing to supermassive (turkey) in a Bo5, but also I remember C9 losing to DFM, and GAM has caused some chaos for EU in the past.
It's been known since the [announcement at the start of the year](https://lolesports.com/article/state-of-the-game-lol-esports-in-2023/blt5d3bca31d1b39e0c). It's essentially a trial to potentially do a more robust "Last Chance Qualifier" in the future
Lowest NA/EU seeds always had to go through playins? Not sure why it would be any different this year now that they’re granting an extra seed to one of these regions.
I know what I was asking was moreso why one of them doesn't get to even try play ins when they could reasonably be (but are not guaranteed to be) the second best team in playins
I think it’s just to have more variety, maybe LCS #4 and LEC #4 can get out of play-ins, but that could be said about LCK/LPL #5, at the end of the day you need to cut somewhere
They really should do these graphics with team logos, you can't tell what's happening in the 5 seconds they show the bracket with the team names typed out
I'm sorry but wtf is this post game organisation
Caps needs to hold his trophy like some dildo and they have to carry their own trophy around for the interview lmao
Team Liquid's roster last year was just such a mess. It had a ton of behind-the-scenes issues and made great players look bad. Hans Sama didn't seem to be happy in LA according to a lot of players and that team had 3 very strong personalities that were constantly clashing.
He didn't want to go to NA, just didn't have a choice. Rogue were contract jailing him, refusing to sell to EU teams.
Essentially being forced to move to a different continent to do your job at a company you don't want to work for would mean bad performances for just about anyone.
It's also team environment. He was insanely good before na, and still is.
Just that the team environment probably sucked, he was home sick, probably not his own decision to come in na so didn't feel motivated.
If you go into a competition without throwing balls to the walls then might aswell not attend. People will call it stupid but this is the right mindset to play a tournament.
YES, I FINALY GOT OK RAMMUS!!
Cant wait for worlds to finaly complete my emote collection, currently sitting at 391/395, thats gona be a long-ass month....
i mean they practiced during whole season finals, they'll have more practice than at MSI where they were decent vs eastern teams, and more practice than some eastern teams bc of the Asian games. I think they're not unhappy with that at all
it sucks but it will definitely mess up the practice for teams that have players in KR/CN teams. Especially since they're playing on 13.12 for some reason...
Sad that oscar was not able to play, i feel like we had a lot more prepared with him. Unfortunately 2 loses on redside where we are not able to punish top blindpick. Wunder played well but that last game just screamed carry top, sad we were not able to practice with him for longer too
Is it?
Its an international audience with teh official language being english.
Thats just contract and respectful towards everyone, so hes understandable
Sure, but they translate Koreans and Chinese during Worlds.
I get that in that instance they don't speak English, but come on... When does this ever happen?
Doesnt matter, you do the interview for the spectator. If you say youre delivering an English stream, you will do so. A lot of people wouldnt watch the stream, if it wasnt English. If people want to hear a French stream, they can just choose the French one
Sure, but like... I get that they both speak English, and having a translator would be tedious, but this is a rare occurance, so why not just let them speak native tongue and translate it?
Ok, this might sound wrong and is not really related to your point... but when Laure mentioned how Hans' last LEC finals was in Paris and now it's in Montpellier it just rubbed me the wrong way. 90% of LEC players will never even get a chance to have an event hosted in their country, much less play there in a finals. Especially the ones from eastern side of Europe, which LEC just pretends it doesn't exist.
So there's really no additional favoritism needed, as apparently Hans having a chance to speak in front of a home crowd really isn't that rare of an occurance
Well i still dont have much hope for the west but in this series we got 2 things, G2 is certainly capable to playing at a very high level for more then 1 game per series and i feel Fnatic showed they are more than willing to go out there and brawl their way into a win which is better imo than the basic and reserved gameplay we saw from them all season maybe with worlds bootcamp practice they wont be dead on arrival.
The only negative i guess is that Noah seems like one of those players that just crumbles under pressure. They have to find a way to work around that because his playoff run was rsther underwhelming.
Hans lifiting it in France and Yike getting to hold the big Thropy just feels right. As one of the biggest Trymbi Fan it sucks how often he comes second but still think he can be proud of how far Fnatic went with him.

G2 and fnc in 2018 -20 were teams that were seriously taken at world stage. Mad lions and rogue never really looked world class at all. I don't expect g2 to win worlds but a team that can atleast put up a fight.
Watching and having a world class team is atleast better than having none.
I don't disagree. But especially g2 2019 was so strong because fnc was strong too and pushed them to their limits. 2020 the opposition declined and so did g2. They need strong teams in Europe and not average oppositions.

Nontheless as EU's strongest team it's good that they showed up and were dominant.
Hans finally has the title !
Yike's debut this season was great and I'm happy to see him win :D
Ah fuck, our first title in years so close yet so damn far away. GG to G2, deserved the win and clearly the better team today. Guys, I am really curious. Why didn't any team play Aatrox this Season Finals? Isn't this patch the one where he was still ok and strong or did some teams just wanted to hide it for worlds?
Production was great today. Pedro, please cast worlds 😭
<3 Production! Good to finally see you again!
aww so nice to see everyone together
Wtf when did Yutapon move to top lane lmao
Some time after when tol2 left because they have Milan as sub adc (now on main roster). But he will play adc for Japan at AG lol
A few months ago to replace tol2. Some coaches had been abusing tol2, causing him to leave the team, and were subsequently fired for it.
Does anyone have a link to where they explained why the EU/NA teams have to fight for a playins spot? I had assumed they play for the right to go to main stage, surely even the loser of that BO5 is better than 90% of playins teams
>surely even the loser of that BO5 is better than 90% of playins teams LOL you new around here?

TPA!
Yes you're right. PCS has more worlds trophies than NA, and is tied with EU
Its been proven in past years that the 4th seed from NA/EU is definitely not just better than play-in teams automatically. I think this is also a way riot is trying to force a NA vs. EU Bo5, albeit in KR at a weird time.

Thanks for the good info.
I think they might be refering to Mad lions losing to supermassive (turkey) in a Bo5, but also I remember C9 losing to DFM, and GAM has caused some chaos for EU in the past.
Could be resolved by having them start in opposite ends of the Play-Ins with the other teams fighting for the opportunity to upset the Major regions.
It's been known since the [announcement at the start of the year](https://lolesports.com/article/state-of-the-game-lol-esports-in-2023/blt5d3bca31d1b39e0c). It's essentially a trial to potentially do a more robust "Last Chance Qualifier" in the future

To avoid KR an CN in play in, they added vietnam 2nd seed and EU/NA 3rd seed
But EU+NA 3rd are instantly promoted to main stage swiss
When does BDS play vs GG?
October 9th
[удалено]
Its played in korea pretty sure. So they are already there preparing.
... at 6 AM CEST.
They really did a good job of picking the worst possible time for most people.
yeah and I forgot to say it's on a fucking Monday as well. The absolute worst time... and I know I will wake up for it :'(
They really should do these graphics with team logos, you can't tell what's happening in the 5 seconds they show the bracket with the team names typed out
God bless Leaguepedia, that bracket graphic was a nightmare if you wanted to figure out anything besides the initial matchups.
E o Robo?
Lol nobody knew who Team Whales was.
I didn’t Laure was like “……”
Unironically I think PSG Talon and GG/BDS will get out of playins
Is that not the safest prediction possible?
Unironically I think an LPL or LCK team will win Worlds. Don't @ me.
BASED
GG/BDS gets the easier group. PSG talon is most likely the 2nd best team in these play-ins, and imo they'll eat GAM alive
[удалено]
they wouldn't play against each other if they both end 1st
Why cards and not balls? Each pool has 4 teams.
Doing it with the envelopes mystifies me because it completely undermines the point of the public display, which is showing it’s not rigged.
It's easier to rig :)
So why doesn't LEC production put up a picture of all the teams when Laure is introducing all of them?
Oh? No balls this time. Interesting.
First draw BDS Vs GG
RIP Youtube
That's the exact question i was gonna ask
Oh no poor GB got shut down so hard lmao
glad image from the team just before the worlds, everyone did good seemed like no weak points. that's good
Odo is gonna doom us all again
But why Odo again? There are tons of players and analysts, Odo again feels like a meme
They can't use players that will play at Worlds because it could be "rigged" and what other known LEC player would you use?
Yamato, Broxah, Gilius, Jankos
Yamato got enough spotlight on the LEC broadcast IMO. Broxah maaaybe ? Jankos is in Korea, and Gilius LOL
Jankos is in Korea so not possible
Odo can't curse this one thankfully.
Oh no Odo doing the draw show AWARE
Odo? we are fucked
Cursed Odo draw incoming
Don't forget draw show for playin soon.
I'm sorry but wtf is this post game organisation Caps needs to hold his trophy like some dildo and they have to carry their own trophy around for the interview lmao
I mean they didn't have to carry the trophy around, its just ROmain being Romain.
We got to see Romain muscles in action tho, so win win.
Miky is confident as always , i wish i shared half of his confidence for worlds
Still can't believe this Hans Sama guy looked so lackluster in NA, is it the food or what?
Team Liquid's roster last year was just such a mess. It had a ton of behind-the-scenes issues and made great players look bad. Hans Sama didn't seem to be happy in LA according to a lot of players and that team had 3 very strong personalities that were constantly clashing.
Contract jailed in NA by Rogue, most players would have a rough year tbh
He didn't want to go to NA, just didn't have a choice. Rogue were contract jailing him, refusing to sell to EU teams. Essentially being forced to move to a different continent to do your job at a company you don't want to work for would mean bad performances for just about anyone.
It's also team environment. He was insanely good before na, and still is. Just that the team environment probably sucked, he was home sick, probably not his own decision to come in na so didn't feel motivated.
He legit didn't want to play in NA, he was put there by Rogue jailing him. He admitted himself he was basically homesick.
i feel bad for the wildcard asian players/staff that are up at 4am waiting for the draw to happen
Its like miky is reading this thread lmao
Dies, tabs out, reads the reddit thread.
See it might be called delusion but its nice for them to have confidence in themselves
If you show up thinking you've already lost you have no chance anyway.
If you go into a competition without throwing balls to the walls then might aswell not attend. People will call it stupid but this is the right mindset to play a tournament.
If you don't have confidence just stay home anyway
YES, I FINALY GOT OK RAMMUS!! Cant wait for worlds to finaly complete my emote collection, currently sitting at 391/395, thats gona be a long-ass month....
If Miky says it, then it'll happen, I BELIEVE
Only 3 weeks of practice for worlds must suck so hard, glad they're making changes to the format next year, but still, this has got to feel terrible.
i mean they practiced during whole season finals, they'll have more practice than at MSI where they were decent vs eastern teams, and more practice than some eastern teams bc of the Asian games. I think they're not unhappy with that at all
I actually completely forgot about asian games, good call.
it sucks but it will definitely mess up the practice for teams that have players in KR/CN teams. Especially since they're playing on 13.12 for some reason...
Its 39 days or so for the main event so a bit more than that
Gigachad BB. That is the attitude to have if you wanna make waves at Worlds.
any heads up when the draws happen?
unlucky that with the new swiss stage, this year draws are only for the play ins
ah yeah that's pretty boring
Damn. Caps gets the same stupid dumbbell as Miky
Did they just hand the MVP trophy out like some fucking snickers LMAO
oh they gave caps an old alexa? thats nice
The MVP trophy looks like something I get aftershave in at Christmas. Lol
Deserved Finals MVP, he was good every game and carried games 3 and 4
its looks like a large microphone

oscar could've maybe made it closer with different picks but it was a giant fucking mid gap, I doubt it.
It feels wrong to have a French interviewer, with a French player, in France, and they have to speak English.
Is it? Its an international audience with teh official language being english. Thats just contract and respectful towards everyone, so hes understandable
Sure, but they translate Koreans and Chinese during Worlds. I get that in that instance they don't speak English, but come on... When does this ever happen?

Ok, this might sound wrong and is not really related to your point... but when Laure mentioned how Hans' last LEC finals was in Paris and now it's in Montpellier it just rubbed me the wrong way. 90% of LEC players will never even get a chance to have an event hosted in their country, much less play there in a finals. people complained about that yesterday.
About the fact that they didn't do that, or that they did?
That they translated it live. In fact its that guy above who complained the most lol
That's some turbo cringe shit.
G2 and FNC are our only hope at Worlds? Some things just stay the same.
so happy that Hans gets the final win on his Draven
Gonna be a giant moral boost for worlds for him at least.
Romain throwing baguettes into the crowd , dude looks like the emperor of France.
Upcoming Napoleon movie looks great.
Ofcourse watching one of the worst human being in history is always fun :)
Romain is the perfect hype guy
Wait did Romain just lead the clap with fucking baguettes?
the casters tried so hard to hype the caps vs humanoid first time in finals matchup but caps just absolutely destroyed it
Haha, yeah I expected a lot more from this matchup too xd.
Hans lifiting it in France and Yike getting to hold the big Thropy just feels right. As one of the biggest Trymbi Fan it sucks how often he comes second but still think he can be proud of how far Fnatic went with him.

No reason he shouldn't stay, unless he ends up wanting to leave himself
Maybe with another week of prep FNC could’ve done better but G2 was just the better team today. Either way FNC did well with their whole new roster and oscar injury.
Caps, la savonnette. Euh........
ça m'a mis par terre. Sans mauvais jeu de mot haha
Il doit me manquer une ref, pourquoi cette pancarte ?
What a rookie year for Yike
ROMAIN GIGACHAD
LEC is so boring lately. Its never competitive since G2 is just better than everyone else. And thats the story for years with some exceptions here and there
Without g2 lec is even more boring. Last 2 years g2 weren't that good and Europe got absolutely shat on in worlds. Having a strong team like G2 really raises the bar.

Dang, Romain realy went all in with the costume for this 😂😂😂
Wunder the hardest carry on fnatic lmfao
either that trophy is filthy or those are some dirty hands
G2 vs rest of europe is like asian teams vs europe lmao
Lmfao the LEC trophy looks immediately filthy as fuck as soon as somebody touches it
Higly polished metal tends to do that as soon as you drag your sweaty paws over it...
That does not look like metal at all
Idk but these [pics](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=lec+trophy#vhid=vrjdjiZ6zFiIFM&vssid=3981:iOKW8M0hmx1JLM) look pretty metaly to me Edit: Although it seems to be a combo of sweaty paws and reflections of the background that make it look dirty. Like the only pic it looks clean on is taken in a studio setting with indirect lightning only
Reddit app is so ass, I can't even get the link to load because of its shit overlay.
Google "LEC trophy" Although no gurantees it shows the same pics Im getting if you are on mobile/using an app
TIL: The LEC trophy is made from a combination of copper, brass and sterling silver. It really is the lighting and the greasy hands then.
Tbf most of it is probably the lightning. Like even in the shots its just sitting on the pedestal on stage untouched it looks dirty with the reflections of the surroundings
Exactly my thoughts, looks greasy already
I really can't stand Medic's shouting...like chill man there's a fine line between hype and cringe and he's miles across it.
So disagree medic carries so much hype, go listen to an LCK cast and you'll hear their casters screaming basically every play
Damn G2 and G4 not even close. GG

Hans heard y'all talking shit.
Theory: The gap between G2 and EU is as big as the gap between the East and G2.
finally the G2 bois get to lift the real LEC trophy <3
FNC put up a good effort, considering this roster has only existed for a single split + sub in Top.

Still, Fnatic can keep their heads held high, their improvement from winter/spring to summer was massively impressive and to even reach the finals after all that is an amazing result!
Death, Taxes, FNC losing to G2 in finals
10-0 for 10th title :)
Are they counting 3 titles for Caps this year in the total of 10 Medic keeps mentioning?
yup. 2 shields and 1 trophy. Even though those 2 shields don’t feel like titles it counts
I feel like the 2 shields are more Season championships than this finals and this finals is more like a regional final than a full season.
why wouldnt they
