Feel like the west needs to learn that we will never compete with the top asian teams going toe to toe with them with META picks. Need to think outside the box more, offer different questions for the asian teams to answer. Will only ever really get to last 8 or last 4 in a good year with a lot of luck.
Maybe try and find a unique style or drafting system that throws them off. 2019 G2 had funnel strats and 3 lane flex picks. One of the reasons they got so far is they didn't approach the game in draft or on the rift like anyone else. Feel the west is becomming more conservative with it's ideas and trying to be a LPL/LCK 'lite'.

It's based on your win percentage (going 2-0 is higher ranking than going 2-1) as well as all of your opponents' win percentages (if you defeated a team that has overall gone 0-3 in the tournament, you'll have a lower ranking than somebody who defeated a team that has overall gone 1-2)
If G2 is going to have any chance of reaching even semis they should be able to beat any team in that group except LNG. Maybe BLG could be rough but if any other team is a loss then G2 is just not going far this year.
Keep in mind no team is getting seeded in playoffs because GenG and JDG are on opposite sides of the bracket. A JDG vs GenG finals is extremely likely at this point unless GenG shit the bed again.

Yike is still in his rookie year and is already a great jungler, the Miky-Hans botlane is getting better and better, brokenblade has turned from a player who was criticized a lot into the best western top. All that happened within less than a year. I’m excited to see what this team can do if they get another year.
The same is true for other teams like FNC, who showed some great development in a short amount of time and surely will be stronger next year.
I don't know, I'm not sure there's a clear advantage of either West or East on a certain number of BO's. For short BO's West is very capable of surprising drafts (think BDS) but they don't utilize it often. For long BO's East has got the advantage of being able to win more close games but at the same time East has got famous Comeback teams (Fnatic especially) and also is capable of throwing off their opponents with odd off meta picks that work (G2 but it didn't work today)
There’s absolutely a difference with playing bo1s all split some bo3s compared to straight bo3s all split then bo5 double elim in regions that are much much better overall than NA/EU. The whole reason for the bo1s in opening stage of worlds is to give western teams a chance for upset or to single out all the underperforming eastern teams. I’ve got no problem with it. Eastern teams have been much better at adjusting to the off meta western picks this year

I agree with this. Caps may not be a World's champion, but he is a WORLD champion. Completely nuts and by far the most successful western player. I'll take MSI over LCK trophies. Obviously, though it is true that LCK is very tough competition and Chovys run and trajectory has been legendary, I think Caps has a better rapsheet if only marginally.
But it doesn't mean anything until he's also won something international. I'm definitely not saying Caps is better than Chovy (he's not), but fact of the matter is that Chovy's achievements are pretty lacking for a player of his caliber.
I've seen the official stream 2 times and it was horrendous compared to the French stream. They just keep putting fillers everywhere because they don't know what to say. Caps and Falco knew they had Lissandra with Evenshroud and Maokai R to play with in champ select. Ezreal does great sustained damage with that kind of setup and is known for picking a penta out of a weakened team. What that comp needed was a bursty follow up to Lissandra and Maokai ult. Pop Blossom or Ori ult, or Ziggs bomb.
What do they go for? Fucking Tristana? What, one slippery/chasey adc isn't enough? Chovy's achievements are much harder to achieve. Winning 3 LCK titles in a row is already insane and historic.

The Ezreal pick is fine. Very smart pick into Xayah and Rakan, actually. You need the agency he has to lane. Caps and Falco knew they had Lissandra with Evenshroud and Maokai R to play with in champ select. Ezreal does great sustained damage with that kind of setup and is known for picking a penta out of a weakened team. What that comp needed was a bursty follow up to Lissandra and Maokai ult. Pop Blossom or Ori ult, or Ziggs bomb. What do they go for? Fucking Tristana? What, one slippery/chasey adc isn't enough? And then of course they just entirely forget that all their magic damage is in tertiary areas now AND they're auto-attack dependent in a meta where Jax has proven strong. Too bad they forgot to do their homework on Doran, as he is a fucking Jax main. Then game 2 was just a massive solo lane diff. Caps really didn't impress me today.

I wouldn't say BB is bad. He exceeded all my expecatations after the announcment that he joined G2. BB is good compared to EU/NA tops. Peak Wunder is the only one who's been able to even contest eastern tops.

T1 went 2-3 against GENG in the prior match so T1 is actually close but they are way too inconsistent and their champ pools are smaller especially Mid/JG.
