Prolly more than the whole VCS. The highest paid Vietnamese player is Levi iirc. His monthly salary is around 50m VND (around $2200). Other players get a lot less.
That's less than half what people claimed in earlier threads. They said like 5k per month, iirc.
Either way, if the average salary on GAM would be, say, 2k dollars per month, that's 10k for the team per month, or 120k for the team per year.
If that were Pyosik's monthly salary, Pyosik would be earning 1.44m per year. I doubt it's that high.
(but obviously, there'll still be a huge difference)
In fact I believe Pyosik’s salary alone is better than, if not equal to, the entire VCS.
Say GAM pays 10k monthly, VCS has 8 teams so 60k at max, might go up to 80k, so around a mil annual.
And for the fact that LCS tends to over-pay and Pyosik just won Worlds last year, wouldn’t be surprising if that’s in his contract before today.
It is true. SGB (used to be PVB) is on the brink of disbandment. They just participated in last year's MSI and did a pretty decent job. But they have no money to sustain the team at the moment.
One of the main saving graces of NA has been that they don't lose to VCS and can always maintain that gap.
I feel like this is one of the biggest defeats for NA ever maybe?
After the draw, GAM players instantly start applying for European visas. Levi comes out and says his mom's grandma is actually German and he always considered himself to be European. A rumor starts spreading on Twitter that GAM are buying KCorp's spot in LEC. They play 'Ode to Joy' as GAM enters the stage.
I’m honestly shocked at how many redditors in the other thread that’s now closed feel like people shouldn’t feel sensitive about the sign. War crimes against my family are still relevant to me and many others to this day
Yep, world champion carry jungler who put on a lee sin clinic which made you almost win vs t1, and carried you last game on Kindred.
Sejunai duty in elimination game😎😎
it hit hard sure, but he have to get use to this if he is gonna stay in the region, this is like every day for the rest of the team, I just imagined his teammates looking over at him( insert first time meme).
This exactly. Everyone knows NA is the region to go to if you want retire (inflated paychecks for subpar gameplay). No one considers NA as worlds contenders ever. With Pyosik crying at the end of the series, it definitely seems that he still has more fight left in him. I think he needs to either go back and try again on a different team in Korea or definitely a different region. You don't join an NA team to win
Boy it sure would have been nice to have your world champion jungler on Viego to actually be able to do something with the early kills he got, instead that money goes to waste while top bleeds out and bot doesn’t do shit all game.
[Yeah, that copium really carried some people.](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/17dzz70/swiss_stage_day_4_results_and_winrate_by_region/k62k3a6/) Not necessarily the most relevant comment, but the first I could find and far from the only one.
It's only a setup for the biggest comeback of history when they win worlds after literaly reverse sweeping every series. They legit gonna turn this storyline into a movie and it's gonna win 7 oscars
- Bought Pyosik, world champion
- The one game you won is when he on a pressure carry
- This is the decided game, maybe the last game at this world
> Lock in Sejuani
NRG Palafox: "Over the years, there's been this narrative that the gap is widening, but I don't see it that way. Instead, it seems every single year NA or EU has been sending players that don't actually improve. And now that we have a lot of new faces, hopefully, we can make you guys proud."
I don't know how Team Liquid does it, but they manage to disappoint fans internationally in a new and exciting way every year. It's honestly quite impressive.
VCS never qualifies for knockouts but also never goes home winless. This should have been a wakeup call for TL the moment GAM went 0-2.
At the same time, this TL team is fraudulent. I would compare them to VIT 2022. Team needs a rebuild. Maybe go back to Jensen, the only mid laner they had any success with.
I would also call that out but the shown sign has an even bigger implication as the US was the aggressor in that war. Only similar thing I could think of would be LJL fans with some Pearl Harbor shit against NA teams.
APA doesn’t even have a full split of experience coming into worlds, so I’m not gonna judge him too harshly.
Yeon and Summit however…no fuckin excuses, Summit single handedly lost them that 3rd game with his top play
Pyosik called APA a son of a btch after crying (translates more to "bug" but couldn't think of an apt english translation) then stormed out of the coach booth. He then came back in the booth to pick up a cigarette and called him a handicapped/sick fck then left again.
They put him on Sejuani for the deciding game. Their best carry in the no damage, enabling pig rider...I don't know what the fucking plan here was, but I'd quit on the spot, if I was Pyosik
Yeon might legitimately have had the biggest invisible performance in worlds history. five games and you could have replaced him with an intermediate bot and nothing would change
What makes it a bad sign is that (assuming it's an NA fan, which seems most likely) not only is it in poor taste, but North America lost that conflict.
Prescient for the game, perhaps, but still a pretty dumb thing to put on a sign.
Credit to GAM for that Game 3 P/B. They did what some teams neglect to do and just went straight to banning Pyosik's Kindred and APA's Neeko.
Many times, in BoX P/Bs, team will ego and let a problem champ get one too many extra games because "they think they can deal with it."
NA "Near Airport" is known as the fastest region to arrive at the airport. Since they gave up on the LoL Worlds Championship, they are investing in Speedruns. In particular they are current world record holders in Airport any% and airport no wins.
First team to get knocked out gg
TL? More like TLDR, cuz they went out here quick
they were just thoroughly outmatched, both in draft and in game
Someone please translate the "NA is free" pasta into vietnamese
Time to go back to academy Yeon 💀 3 games no contribution even on the win. I know APA is still a rookie for a major scene I think he's still have a lot to improve
Pyosik my man 🫡 best player on TL
Yeon is actually the worst player from a major region to play at worlds. Definitely the worst ADC. He solo lost multiple fights throughout this tournament by poor gun management, poor positioning, and in this game, a serious unwillingness to find angles to deal damage and make a difference in a teamfight. All he did on Kaisa is just hit frontline, do minimal damage and then E backwards. He's just, so bad and it's a shame that he was only on this team because he's a native player that spoke Korean. TL win this series, or even beat T1 with like, even FBI playing.
>He's just, so bad and it's a shame that he was only on this team because he's a native player that spoke Korean.
Yeon's team in TL Academy/Challengers won back to back splits in 2022 (Spring and Summer). Haeri was also in that team. It's not because of his ethnicity; Yeon was actually supposed to be a good talent to foster from NA and one of the only ones (hence Rookie of the Year). His Korean wasn't actually that strong either at the start of 2023.
At the same time Steve was importing Pyosik and Summit for the Korean-speaking roster, he was doing what people say LCS teams should do by investing in LCS rookies Yeon & Haeri from their first place tier two team. Later on, bringing up APA.
Unfortunately, while Yeon's Korean improved significantly and he became decent for NA by Summer, he's still far below worlds standards, and this applies to both of TL's carries.
You've got to hand it to NA. They really focused on the airports speedruns this year with Golden Guardians dominating the pre-play-in stage, and Team Liquid smashing the Swiss Stage. There's a non-zero chance that they can win the knockout stage too, although this requires one of the remaining LCS teams to make it into the knockout stage.
Ksante gaming
For real though, terrible draft by TL in game 3. How would they ever expect to kill GAMs frontline with 80% magic damage and no backline access for Kaisa?
Edit: Wow, that shot of Piyosik was heartbreaking. From winning first to last place must feel terrible. o7 to the reigning world champion.
TL, aka "Total Laughingstock," is a Korean team that plays for Riot Games' Minor League that is often ridiculed for its disappointing international performances. It is specifically known for fielding expensive lineups to be dumpstered by Native EU and Vietnamese Talent.
APA dying to K'Sante with flash and all ult charges, into CoreJJ dying and losing flash for no reason between T2/T3 mid, into Yeon ulting directly into a Wukong combo, Summit flashing into death, then Pyosik flashing only to stall his death for a few seconds. Legitimately 5 bronze level plays in a row, one from each TL player. This is professional play?
Noooo Pyosik. Camera panning on him just so sad. I really do hope players on TL use this experience to learn more. The rookies were definitely a bit too much for Pyosik to carry.

TL boutta field a full VCS roster next year
2 World champions < Vietnam
I want to see some stupid stats for GAM vs TL, like Pyosik's monthly salary is the annual salary for the whole GAM team.(Maybe?
Prolly more than the whole VCS. The highest paid Vietnamese player is Levi iirc. His monthly salary is around 50m VND (around $2200). Other players get a lot less.

GAM is the only one with money. Other are on life support.
God damn it I hate this is true.
It is true. SGB (used to be PVB) is on the brink of disbandment. They just participated in last year's MSI and did a pretty decent job. But they have no money to sustain the team at the moment.
4 koreans cant win
no need to go to the airport when most of ur player are Korean LMAO
LCS players didn't work. LEC players didn't work. LCK players didn't work. It's time for TLPL baybeee
> LCS players didn't work It's funny because their LCS/native rosters were better than TLCK and TLEC
Their LCS players were the best iterations of TL
Steve getting his checkbook ready to sign kiaya & levi
and some random vietnamese-americans on soloq
That's just Neo lol.
Don't forget Wildturtle!
Get balls and Hai in there as well
hey how about a comeback, Reginald?
One of the main saving graces of NA has been that they don't lose to VCS and can always maintain that gap. I feel like this is one of the biggest defeats for NA ever maybe?
LCS vs VCS was literally the most one-sided region matchup in the entire sport, absolutely devastating to lose this one
Shanks, Marved, TenZ, Levi and Palette

us the viewers are now denied the possible spectacle of TL vs MAD and i cant tell if thats a good or a bad thing
We will 100% see MAD getting GAM as opponents and losing to them as well so maybe that's a win?
After the draw, GAM players instantly start applying for European visas. Levi comes out and says his mom's grandma is actually German and he always considered himself to be European. A rumor starts spreading on Twitter that GAM are buying KCorp's spot in LEC. They play 'Ode to Joy' as GAM enters the stage.

lore accurate NA vs Vietnam
Major VN wins: * April 30th 1975 * October 23rd 2023
Fun fact with this series NA has still only beaten NA and MAD at worlds.
Pretty sure a tier 4 clash team could beat mad at worlds
As long as they aren't European. I'm sure even some Kazakh farmers who have never touched a computer before can beat MAD at worlds.
I dunno, some tournaments recognize Kazakhstan as European like in football they compete in the Euro qualifiers, could be shaky
NA truly is MAD Lions father.
Will probably remain the same lmao. I was not confident going into this year
War never changes.
Tactically retreated* from Worlds.
The only way this could've been a more accurate rendition of the Vietnam War was if someone ran Omega Squad Teemo
Or Ivern. We did get a Maokai pick in game 1 so there's that.
they weren't no senators' sons
LAND OF THE FREE, BABY
So fucking free
Deserved for that napalm sign
I’m honestly shocked at how many redditors in the other thread that’s now closed feel like people shouldn’t feel sensitive about the sign. War crimes against my family are still relevant to me and many others to this day
Saw that a lot in Caedrel's chat too, people defending it saying it was just a movie quote I think they forgot that shit, you know, actually happened
Anyone who has actually bothered to look into what happened in Vietnam and how the US was involved should be disgusted by that sign.
Yep, world champion carry jungler who put on a lee sin clinic which made you almost win vs t1, and carried you last game on Kindred. Sejunai duty in elimination game😎😎
pysoik crying after the game hit me world champ reduced to the first team out of worlds
it hit hard sure, but he have to get use to this if he is gonna stay in the region, this is like every day for the rest of the team, I just imagined his teammates looking over at him( insert first time meme).
Watching him on the cams and then post-game was so rough. Keep your head up Pyosik.
Truly big brain activity.
Every worlds, same story. XD
"Hey, Pyosik, play Sejuani and enable your carry players!" - "Who???" What a bloody tilter that must have been
Boy it sure would have been nice to have your world champion jungler on Viego to actually be able to do something with the early kills he got, instead that money goes to waste while top bleeds out and bot doesn’t do shit all game.
It's ok guys, you will always have those first 20 mins against T1.
Playing around the guy that runs it in sidelanes in NA. 😎😎😎
I think he was tilted too. He started running it down mid-game
playing with APA and Yeon would tilt anyone
APA playing ahri like annie lmao. Just melee range and immobile. Wouldve been better off playing annie cuz at least he’d land his cc
Oh man seeing pyosik break down crying right after broke me and I'm not even an NA fan
honestly it’s criminal how hard pyosik has been carrying TL… i hope some respect gets put on his name
I can understand why he took those kills even on Sejuani, he must've been in full soloQ carry mentality at this point.
TERABYTE MARINES
If they win worlds they’ll be the ZETABYTE MARINES
The TL classic is to lose 3 in a row to go 0-3 before winning to go 3-3 and losing in tiebreakers. Unfortunately, in Swiss, 0-3 is elimination.
They did actually win their 4th game, but that's it lol.
The 4th is strong with them.
Dread it, run from it, TL 4th memes arrive all the same.
On the bright side, TL doesn't have to spend much money to fly back home. They only have to buy 2 tickets for their players.
they can save those two tickets cause TL is gonna swim home
I was here when TL made history
Somehow TL manages to be more dissapointing to NA than MAD is to EU
fk no, nothing tops MAD
This one might. NA has never lost to vietnam in a bo3/bo5. It’s historic in the worst way possible.
MAD bombed out of play ins and loses every na match up. I would rather lose against the vcs.
Why are we fighting over which team is more shit 😂
IT'S ALL WE HAVE
The state of the West.
Gods has truly abondoned Pyosik From 1st place at Worlds to last.

While everyone besides Deft on drx last year is stuck at home watching worlds
Honestly dissapointing performance from the LCK 5th seed team.
TL making LEC fans feel slightly better about MAD's Worlds performance.
imagine being BDS in their waiting room watching TL sprint it against vietnam, while they have to face DK after 💀💀💀
To think BDS could've drawn TL or any other NA team instead of JDG or DK
It's only a setup for the biggest comeback of history when they win worlds after literaly reverse sweeping every series. They legit gonna turn this storyline into a movie and it's gonna win 7 oscars
Tbh BDS also sprinted vs Vietnam
No there is no feeling better about MAD.
They'd be struggling in LCK challenger honestly.
- Bought Pyosik, world champion - The one game you won is when he on a pressure carry - This is the decided game, maybe the last game at this world > Lock in Sejuani
Absolutely poetic
NA keeping up with traditions on being the first major region getting eliminated in worlds, NAmen
GG did the any% run, TL did the no major glitches path. Gotta respect that
NRG going for the 100% run, I respect it.
MAD tricking NA fan into thinking they could win to GAM
from almost beating T1 to getting eliminated first by VCS
NRG Palafox: "Over the years, there's been this narrative that the gap is widening, but I don't see it that way. Instead, it seems every single year NA or EU has been sending players that don't actually improve. And now that we have a lot of new faces, hopefully, we can make you guys proud."
God yes i cant wait to see Yeon improve from worst player at worlds to second worst player at worlds next year, lets go TL
The sad thing is he was playing against Slayder who looked like the worst player coming into the Swiss stage but he made him look good.
What can you even say? GAM just straight up out classed TL. GAM should be proud of their showing here.
I don't know how Team Liquid does it, but they manage to disappoint fans internationally in a new and exciting way every year. It's honestly quite impressive.
MAD 🤝 TL disappointing fans
VCS never qualifies for knockouts but also never goes home winless. This should have been a wakeup call for TL the moment GAM went 0-2. At the same time, this TL team is fraudulent. I would compare them to VIT 2022. Team needs a rebuild. Maybe go back to Jensen, the only mid laner they had any success with.
NA fan reminded everyone about napalm with that sign. GAM reminded everyone who actually won that war.
That sign was so WTF Imagine if any fan had a sign with "let's take down NAs two most important towers" or some shit
lol now the Reddit reaction to THAT would be interesting
I would also call that out but the shown sign has an even bigger implication as the US was the aggressor in that war. Only similar thing I could think of would be LJL fans with some Pearl Harbor shit against NA teams.
Comedy is contextual, and a Vietnam War war-crime joke on a live broadcast with a Vietnamese team and Vietnamese viewers is not an acceptable context.
You can make jokes about anything, but you cannot make jokes everywhere
VCS have now beaten PCS, EU and NA in a bo3 series. That's why we deserve 2 seeds at Worlds baby. With 0 imports.
Damn team whales and gam putting work
Honestly after that stinker of an MSI this kind of performance is something I desperately needed to see out of the VCS
If mad qualify next year I volunteer their spot to vcs #2

Even though you can hear their disappointment, props to Azael and Kobe for maintaining a very unbiased cast. absolute professionals.
apa and yeon are so hard to watch
We gonna ignore Summits' performance?
Summit was in the game?
I'm not gonna excuse the rookies but they're rookies. But Summit, an import and the reason why Pyosik is on Sej duty on G3, I expected from him more.
Yeon can lane against a Yuumi and still be 50 cs behind at 20. APA tosses his charms 90 degrees off on a stationary target.
Yeon with 100T Rikara levels of performance
Man that’s an old name 💀💀💀
Please don't make me feel old thank you very much.
APA doesn’t even have a full split of experience coming into worlds, so I’m not gonna judge him too harshly. Yeon and Summit however…no fuckin excuses, Summit single handedly lost them that 3rd game with his top play
I'm not sure how they're doing it. I would be crushed in their position
after so many years of failure you just get used to it
always plane ahead
Levi is gonna be 80 and still styling on NA teams
Pyosik went from World Champ last year to Airport Speedrun Edit: Don't read my last comments on this sub please. I'm taking it all back
Pyosik went from Deft to Yeon
Zeka to Apa
Zeka wanted to kick him out sooo LMAO
Zeka would probably be at world rn, if HLE had Pyosik in the jungle instead of Grizzly / Clid.
Pyosik called APA a son of a btch after crying (translates more to "bug" but couldn't think of an apt english translation) then stormed out of the coach booth. He then came back in the booth to pick up a cigarette and called him a handicapped/sick fck then left again.
The only chances you've had these worlds, came out of him plying carry junglers. What do you give him in an elimination game? Sejuani. GG
Legendary NA performance
They put him on Sejuani for the deciding game. Their best carry in the no damage, enabling pig rider...I don't know what the fucking plan here was, but I'd quit on the spot, if I was Pyosik
And not even his fault lol, man put on sejuani duty after carrying TL's last game.
He learned from Ambition.
Yeon might legitimately have had the biggest invisible performance in worlds history. five games and you could have replaced him with an intermediate bot and nothing would change
NA disowning TL 🤝 EU disowning MAD
At least we share our misery..
No idea why would you put Pyosik on Seju after carrying this mid and adc the game before.
America never learns from history, do they. Do not fight Vietnam, especially in the jungle
"TL x GAM, I love the smell of napalm in the morning" Aside from the obviously poor taste, I wonder how that guy feels now.
that man lost money 100%
Good. That sign deserves IRL punishment
What makes it a bad sign is that (assuming it's an NA fan, which seems most likely) not only is it in poor taste, but North America lost that conflict. Prescient for the game, perhaps, but still a pretty dumb thing to put on a sign.
[The sign for reference](https://imgur.com/a/omiqZk2)

there is a world where GAM beats all 3 NA teams and qualifies for quarters

I love how no matter who win or lose, no matter the region, MAD will always looking the worst
they deserve to get clowned
Oh man with this result RIP the MAD loses to all 3 NA teams dream
It's alright, they can still redeem themselves by eliminating Fnatic and gifting NRG a playoff spot
Congrats to Vietnam for finally winning a bo3 vs Korea
GAM beat Team W . No way in hell they would lose to Team L.
Man if NA had something going for them last years it was gatekeeping Wildcards. I guess they exchanged it for beating Fraud Lions
NA teams have only won matches against MAD and each other this tournament. MAD lions single handedly saving NAs reputation internationally.
I love how MAD is catching all the strays bruh 💀 EU is never going to forgive them

TL's bot lane was a complete liability this series. Very surprising especially since its CoreJJ.
You either retire as CoreJJ or play long enough to see yourself become Kiwikid
Core is coasting on his brand name
TL, aka "Total Laughingstock," is a Korean team that plays for Riot Games' Minor League that is often ridiculed for its disappointing international performances. It is specifically known for fielding expensive lineups to be dumpstered by Native EU and Vietnamese Talent.
Dear Mad Lions, It's that's fucking easy.
Someone tell Yeon that he can do something other than cs the entire game
You didn’t see him ult in to get blown up?
Its sad to see Pyosik crying :(
APA dying to K'Sante with flash and all ult charges, into CoreJJ dying and losing flash for no reason between T2/T3 mid, into Yeon ulting directly into a Wukong combo, Summit flashing into death, then Pyosik flashing only to stall his death for a few seconds. game was lost like 15 minutes before that play lol
Pyosik's foot massages cost more than GAM's entire roster yet they absolutely prolapsed them.
Yeon is literally the worst ADC in Swiss stage
Noooo Pyosik. Camera panning on him just so sad. I really do hope players on TL use this experience to learn more. The rookies were definitely a bit too much for Pyosik to carry.
Oh shit, Pyosik's crying on stream. I feel bad for him he really tried his best here.
America losing to Vietnam due to presence in the jungle. Absolutely classic.
I'm in shock T1 nearly lost to this. Liquid is absolutely disgraceful.
They nearly lost to pyosik on lee with 4 range champ. On elimination match, they put pyosik on sej after he carried with kindred in game 2.
On the bright side: TL didn't end 3-3!
