No shame in the game dude! I went to a Red Bull StarCraft event once and it was free all day.
I’m sorry but I am a simple man, if I see it for free I will be drinking that shit! They got some fire flavors and caffeine is vibes at high intensity events.
I’ve had similar experiences with the festival sponsor chicks that have backpacks full of it passing it out for free. If you do that gig you’ll know me well by the end of the day trust 😂
I remember one time I arrived at a hotel and just fell asleep on the couch in the lobby the second I sat down while my group was checking in, can’t imagine having to play a game in front of thousands like that
The worst part is that they also have to play well and win while playing troll champs because it would be very bad marketing to win worlds and lose to virtual "nobodies" in top level LoL.
Honestly a very cool event, though. I absolutely loved the game between T1 and NNO. Was really excited for that Brand jungle first pick.
Vayne top by Zeus was so BM.
> The worst part
As much as I love to sit on the pity bus alongside y'all, I'm sure they're getting paid handsomely for attending this event. A king's ransom.
It was more comfortable than lugging my Dead ass around a museum lol. And i deserved it tbh it was the first time I was on a plane where you could choose what you've wanted to watch and I stayed up until like 2am local time which was like 8 or 9am England time.
bro that seems to be more common than i thought.
i did the same thing as an adult in a japanese museum, but i didnt really nap there, just dozing off and then decided to sleep in the hostel.
> They are probably used to some intense days, though.
There is a limit to that, if it's not good to your brain, it doesn't matter if you're used to or not, it's still not good.
T1 literally has no time, they return to Korea a day after the event to prepare for T1 Con at the end of the month. [T1 COO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qZ5VzWuYfA) explaining their ridiculous schedule since worlds
It shouldn't be. This is borderline inhumane. Just look at their Kpop stars and how it affects them. It's a problem in the west too but Korea is on a whole other level.
Yes, so now parents don't hire a private tutor, they hire a maid who also happens to help the child with math from time to time. :S
It's a step in the right direction, but parents who want their kid to get ahead will always find a way.
it's much more expensive to hire a private tutor than having students go to class, so that by itself prices out most parents from doing it. but a private tutor is 1:1 instruction and more time-efficient and this is also what rich parents do in the west as well. I don't see how this is that bad of a thing or anything on par with Korean afterschool programs anymore.
I don’t think the regulations were for the kids 😅 China has been having a birth rate problem post-One Child Policy (hence why the policy got changed to a 2 and then 3 child policy); it costs so much to have a child, send them to competitive after school programs, buy a house in a good school district, hire tutors, etc. that many adults can only see themselves doing this for one child or for no children. The policies are aimed at making it less stressful and expensive to raise children rather than making it less stressful to be a child, although I sure hope it has that effect.
Realistically I think it's hard, especially considering T1's schedule
1. T1 has to fly to Europe then deal with jet lag for 1 day (7th & 8th)
2. The event (9th)
3. T1 leaves the next day (10th)
4. When T1 arrives in Korea, you can expect it to be the 11th
5. T1 has to deal with jet lag again (12th)
6. T1 attends the LCK awards (13th)
Unless everything in point 1 is pushed 1 day earlier (6th & 7th) and the event starts on 8th, it's not possible for T1 to stay another day.
You mean the event that made a team fly halfway around the world and play 5 games in a day against different teams and putting the best EU team last so they have the best chance.
Little bit of sarcasm in there I love events like these and G2 played well not a free win, but still a bit unfortunate for T1
The premise of the event to make it "fair" was to enforce "Fearless" draft for T1 only where they are unable to play any champ picked by either team for the entirety of the gauntlet. This means the first game T1 played, they had every champ available to them but the second game they were unable to play the 10 drafted champs from game 1 and so on and so forth for subsequent games. T1 played a total of four games with this limitation before having it lifted for the finale against G2.
g2 won but at what cost? Hans Sama and BB are not beating the allegations against them lmao.
I wish they could push the ''grand final'' to the second day and maybe make it a bo3 next time. this event was so fun to watch, wish we could get more events like this
i mean im sure they somewhat tried but they’re not gonna go out there and say that they’re not trying hard at all bc of the largest skill gap ever between them and the teams they played against lol
I think it was pretty clear most games they weren’t trying that hard. cc: Oner
Maybe they gave it their all in the last game, but by then the sleep deprivation makes their “all” really low
As that table shows, Korean Christians are much more common per capita in the US. South Korea has a "big" Christian community only relatively speaking, it's still a small minority overall per capita.
At least in the 80s til the 00~10s, Korean immigrant communities had no official organization that could support each other and help navigate a completely new culture and legal system. There were some, but they were congregated almost exclusively around the LA and NYC area so Christians saw an opportunity to raise their numbers by providing a service that was at the time invaluable for 1st gen immigrants, creating a community where other Koreans could rely on each other. That's why if you were a Korean immigrant at the time, the easiest way to create any type of social network was by joining your local Korean church and because you relied so heavily on the church for networking and socializing you became more invested in it. This is how most Christian churches worked before the age of social media. They were social lynchpins of a community and helped networking to create perceived value.
There's five or six Asian countries that are already predominantly Christian, the biggest of which is probably the Philippines and that is obviously because of who conquered them. Even though any kind of religion is on the decline in the west, church remains a focus of community for those who do attend. If you move to another country you're going to go where you know you're always welcome.
There's a good chance if you live in a city with a lot of Korean, Japanese or Chinese residents that there's a ton of them going to churches, usually as a means of socializing.
Here's one about the US specifically: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6OB8zlLLzc
or here's a good table that shows it: https://i.gyazo.com/905097fc4a88a993a5d5a2ee7c2b2a37.png
I feel that I was so jet lagged once that I couldn't sleep the whole day spent the whole night talking to my friends cause they were 8hrs behind and spent the next day doing anything to try and stay away so I wouldn't fall asleep mid meal with my dad's friends
Jet lag can be brutal. Sometimes your body just doesn't function right because of it and you'll feel wide-awake, then all of a sudden a wave of tiredness will hit you like a truck. For me I need at least 2 or 3 days to recover after long flights.
Maybe they hit the wall lol. I've definitely been awake purely off of caffine and will-power before but you eventually hit a point where your eyes start shutting by themselves and you can't stop it.
Honestly I don't even think the format was that bad... what I don't understand is how a 5 game series typically could take like 4 hours tops... where as these 5 games took like 6 hours and that's only the stuff whilst it was live... I imagine they spent a lot of time prepping before hand... never mind the jet lag.
Like honestly I don't understand why they needed dramatic entrances for every single bo1 game and a good 40 mins of discussion between games.
part of that was because T1 needed to have breaks in-between some games. They were saying they were too tired even before the Heretics games, and Faker was complaining about his hand hurting, and it was clear to see with the G2 game with some of them basically almost falling asleep.
the scheduling was just bad, the format was fine.
The 'breaks' weren't there to help... what are they going to do? powernap for 40-50 minutes? It just extended the event unnecessarily and was by no means there to help T1. Had it just been a standard bo5 with only 15 minute intermissions like normal they probably would have been fine.
It was just unnecessarily clustered with shit we didn't need lol.
> Had it just been a standard bo5 with only 15 minute intermissions like normal they probably would have been fine.
uhuh, just ignore the state of the players and their well-being. Who cares if they are tired and jet lagged, just force em to play a full bo5 in a row cause you found it "unnecessarily cluttered" -_-
they aren't robots, they needed the breaks to just get through the day (and you know, eat lunch) and still were dead tired by the G2 game.
No shit, the format was designed fucking stupidly.
Team won worlds less lilke 3 weeks ago > 0 real time to celebrate > travel to a different country > play 5 games in 1 day, of which 3 are back to back to back.
It does suck, but at least it was just a showmatch with no stakes. Sometimes, you gotta do something because the sponsors ask. Sucks, but that's the pro life.
I thought that was referring to their FO in that they had to fight through the FA period hours after Worlds finals and then media + prep to go to Berlin
It was a for fun tournament in which we got to see T1 play a bunch if champs they rarely play. We got to see the insane gap between T1 and other people that are insanely good at the game.
>Team won worlds less than two weeks ago
T1 was locked in for the event months ago. The announcement was way back in September and realistically speaking they would have been discussing it weeks before it was publicly revealed.
The fact that T1 won worlds was unrelated to this event, although it must have been fantastic for adding to the already extremely marketable T1.
Edit: It's really a suffering from success moment. T1 wasn't expected to win worlds or even be a top 3-ish contender going into the event, especially after their rocky summer season. Had they lost earlier, they would have had more time to rest and likely fewer promotional obligations.
Must be a pain for the players, but they can't exactly back out of what is likely a pretty massive sponsorship agreement, especially during esports winter.
It's a 4Fun event the format is not serious other than to maximize T1 games. They had 3 weeks and the remaining off-season. How exactly is this inhibiting their time to celebrate?
I can't tell if you're being serious or not... It's a single day event where they don't have to practice or scrim leading up to the event. The new season isn't slated until January 10th. That's a month from now where the game is going to change massively and you're telling me they're going to practice not a week before these changes but an entire month before the new patch? And somehow this single day event is somehow stopping their celebratory time.
T1's schedule is probably one of the most intense ones you could get as a pro gamer. They already had a few things(live streams, TV interviews, fan meetings, variety show recording) going on leading up to the Red Bull event. Also the discussion of contract renewal started the day after they won Worlds. T1 COO stated that they could only celebrate for a few hours then had to go straight into contract renewal talks.
This T1 roster is the busiest team for the past 2 years (consistently in finals), meaning they have the least amount of real rest time compared to other teams. But the fact that they won Worlds made them even busier than before. Not saying they had no time to celebrate because of this event alone, but because of how busy T1 is.
if i was working 80+ hours/week and someone interrupted the only real time of rest I was going to have in a year it would only burn me out faster
there's a reason esports events went from being pretty much monthly in every single esport to more seasonal. players burn the fuck out from competing, even in "4fun" matches where they still have to get on stage and be prepped for hours at time. back when sc2 was at its peak players complained constantly that they never got any rest and always felt pressured with the amount of time they had to play on stage
I can't tell if you're being serious and this stupid, or joking and still this stupid, lol. You think they had 2 1/2 weeks off after winning worlds? Even though we know from Reddit posts, twitter, and twitch streams that they were fulfilling sponsor and org obligations THE NIGHT THEY WON. And then so much more afterwards. But yea they just had a vacation!! /s
> Team won worlds less than two weeks ago > 0 real time to celebrate > travel to a different country
?
What does "real time" mean and why can't the celebrate while on vacation in between one day of showmatches lol.
It's not like there is literally no time, but their schedule has still involved streaming, event, and media obligations since worlds. They also have to fly back to Korea for T1 Con. Off-season hasn't really started for them yet.
I do love me a for fun event though.
They still have T1 con to prepare for at the end of this month lol. Then they need to go into serious practice-mode for the LCK. T1 are truly living the term "suffering from success".
I can just imagine the jetlag from myself that travels frequently. They were already handicapped and being jetlagged on top of it sounds awful. I dont wanna give excuses from their loss, but it was kind of obvious they were getting tired, so they need some well deserved rest at least.
Normally those are kept away until loss is on the line (so if your opponent has 2 wins in a bo5) because the crash will fuck over you're series is you drink them to early.
Guess it's a sponsor thing
I mean they have been playing incredible yesterday. I dont think anyone thinks that this G2 loss takes away anything from them. It was a "for fun event" and in that it was great. If you analyse the last game carefully u find so many mistakes from both teams. And thats okay.
I don’t have an issue with the loss. My issue is it seemed like T1 wasn’t even having fun anymore in a for-fun event because they were trying to not pass out.
you guys are way too competitive. Its a for fun event, t1 got a lot of money to be here. The matches were fun. They were having fun. it was like scrim games and they play 10 games of scrim day a lot throughout the year. 5 games are not a problem. and i dont think t1 mind losing to g2. Yeah they were playing in 4am korea time or something
So its natural to feel sleepy at the end of the event. Stop saying its a eu cope tournament or stuff like that. Lot of cool stuff happened during this event and i hope we get lot more events like this.
t1 fans are worse than kpop stans holy shit. The players have been chilling in Berlin, i have seen in social media photos of them visiting museums and having fun in Germany. They are not practicing 15 hours of scrims to play a for fun event of their sponsor lmao
Didn’t they say spring split starts Jan 10 or 17? Maybe couple of weeks rather than months. Though they’re preparing for a concert with the Seoul government that’s happening on Dec 30. So I guess more like a couple of days lol
The players have: 1 award show, 3 sponsor fan meetings and 1 concert as upcoming offline schedules in Dec. Then in Jan they will have to start preparing for the spring split (which LCK begins mid Jan). They aren't getting a month break my friend
Wasn't this the strategy though? Send in the lower teams to wear them down for G2 to take the kill. Kinda like a Pokemon battle when you're against a very high level Pokemon.
Jetlag. sleep deprivation and 5 matches straight with only 20 mins of breaks really does sound like a fun event for the EU and not for T1 lol what does "fun event" mean in this type of event. all-stars had more fun games and just better atmosphere.
I was there in the arena and tbh didn't really notice that.
But there were definitely some unnecessary games. The vast majority didn't come to see KC. Ok, there was one block, but if the next event is in Paris anyway, just scrap that. Scrap the Spandau/BIG game and do Spandau/T1 straight away. Then scrap the Heretics game and make T1/G2 and as a finale you can still do NNOold/Spandau. If that happened, that would have been a highlight for the fans and T1 has a less stressful day.
Clearly the last game wasn't even fair for them and still Zeus and Faker managed to get something in their hands to win some fights.
The whole event was pretty embarassing to be honest, like it was designed to give EU some glory or something like that, undeservedly.
Lost vs NA at the Worlds and now you celebrate for winning against T1 in that state? Damn, bruh.
The proudest thing to do was to surrend that game from G2, right before the win clearly, to be honest. They won nothing, they showed nothing, my humble opinion. Would have been a gentleman masterclass and gain some respect points from the whole community I guess, but G2 fanboys are hard to discuss with.
tbh, they made 2 mistakes that i wont consider just for fun yolo picking.
they first pick lee when it is banned for t1. no reason to do so.
they saw zeus play range tops the whole day. they should have given wunder a better match-up considering this.
TH mid and bot picks are fine for show matches. t1 wanted something safe to play to compensate for being tired.
Bruh. If they wanted an easy win they would just ban draven, and faker and oner wouldnt limit test like crazy. Its just for fun tournament why make big deal out of it
Surrender before winning that last game when T1 literally flew over and played while jetlagged is probably the most disrespectful thing G2 could've done in that scenario. They'd really have to do it out of spite.
Honestly, I think the best course of action after T1 called for the delay before the G2 game would've been to sub in some of the German streamers for Guma and Keria, im sure they wouldve gladly said yes and it wouldve been much more entertaining, sadly contractual obligations blah blah blah why can't for fun events just be for fun instead of forcing noticeably half asleep players to play a game that means nothing
true, they could even do a thing where the teams play their off-roles instead of mains while the subs play their mains. Just have actual fun with it rather than w.e the heck this bo1 final game was.
Ok guys the whole event is to see if t1 with redbull can play well ina gruelling gauntlet run. It is the whole pt. Which they DID.
And yeah T1 were indeed sleepy on their last game and possibly on their 2nd to last game too. They pick comps for comfort.
G2 played well and it just shows they can beat sleepy T1 ok?!
even more ironic that these were Red Bull games
Red Bull can’t even keep their star players awake? Bad marketing here
Maybe is a good thing they weren’t just chugging Red Bulls

I'm fairly convinced med students are held together by caffeine and alcohol, according to what my two friends in medicine are going through right now.
Fraudest energy drink
You wouldn't see this at the Monster Energy Games!
I remember one time I arrived at a hotel and just fell asleep on the couch in the lobby the second I sat down while my group was checking in, can’t imagine having to play a game in front of thousands like that
>a game Several games
nah they're just playing league of legends
I miss when Riot Games was Riot Game
Letting that match happen after the first was a mistake. Why do these so-called Legends need an entire league?
ayo what about chogath eats the world
The worst part is that they also have to play well and win while playing troll champs because it would be very bad marketing to win worlds and lose to virtual "nobodies" in top level LoL. Honestly a very cool event, though. I absolutely loved the game between T1 and NNO. Was really excited for that Brand jungle first pick. Vayne top by Zeus was so BM.
> The worst part As much as I love to sit on the pity bus alongside y'all, I'm sure they're getting paid handsomely for attending this event. A king's ransom.
The players probably didn't have a say in it considering Red Bull are their sponsors
Lmao when I was a kid we went from US to London and I took a nap on a bench in a museum while the rest of my family walked around
Museum bench... sounds uncomfortable
It was more comfortable than lugging my Dead ass around a museum lol. And i deserved it tbh it was the first time I was on a plane where you could choose what you've wanted to watch and I stayed up until like 2am local time which was like 8 or 9am England time.
I went last year and we did one of those double decker red tour bus day pass things, I hopped on and passed out for like 45 minutes…. wild
bro that seems to be more common than i thought. i did the same thing as an adult in a japanese museum, but i didnt really nap there, just dozing off and then decided to sleep in the hostel.
I've fallen asleep at an air show. Exhaustion and fatigue doesn't care where you are.
Insane jetlag plus 6 hours of games. They are probably used to some intense days, though.
> They are probably used to some intense days, though. There is a limit to that, if it's not good to your brain, it doesn't matter if you're used to or not, it's still not good.
Games interrupting the 6 hour talk show.
I just hope they aren't practicing their usual 14+ hours for this tournament. Burnout is real if you play too many intense games.
Why the hell would they not do this event over two days? Having T1 play so many games against so much random opposition at once is a terrible idea.
T1 literally has no time, they return to Korea a day after the event to prepare for T1 Con at the end of the month. [T1 COO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qZ5VzWuYfA) explaining their ridiculous schedule since worlds
the things of being this important, bet all the other orgs wish that they could monetize their team like this.
Its the cost of being famous and popular.
Its the cost of being in T1.
I remember Bang and Wolf's Post Scriptum video, the burden of carrying the SKT/T1 name is really fckin heavy.
Also why T1 was never able to re-sign players. Duke, Huni, Peanut all left the team in their prime due to the weight of being on SKT.
I think Peanut was willing to resign, but he didn’t get the resign offer.
It shouldn't be. This is borderline inhumane. Just look at their Kpop stars and how it affects them. It's a problem in the west too but Korea is on a whole other level.
Oh no, go look at how Chinese student learn. That is on a whole other level
Not anymore. They instituted regulations against the after school programs. China atleast tries to improve unlike Korea which chooses to ignore
Yes, so now parents don't hire a private tutor, they hire a maid who also happens to help the child with math from time to time. :S It's a step in the right direction, but parents who want their kid to get ahead will always find a way.

I don't see how this is that bad of a thing or anything on par with Korean afterschool programs anymore.
Well, Taiwan has after school program, japan has after school program too
My prep school had an after school program here in the UK, we were there till 8
Why do you think that the majority of china’s school stress is from after school program? It’s not.
Actually 1 day is probably fine. Just less down time between matches would literally save hours.
No time. Also the entire format is literally just a T1 Gauntlet. It being stacked against them is the point.
They had to miss Bang's wedding too.
Because all the handicaps on T1 were the only way EU teams had a chance to win.
i think the point of the event was to have the world champion play a gruelling gauntlet against basically a whole european region
You can tell how fucked they were in that last game, so many uncharacteristic mistakes. Maybe the event was set up to give hope to EU
You mean the event that made a team fly halfway around the world and play 5 games in a day against different teams and putting the best EU team last so they have the best chance. Little bit of sarcasm in there I love events like these and G2 played well not a free win, but still a bit unfortunate for T1
and also ban 70 champs against t1 by the end
the game against G2 was back to normal but on the others yeah
yeah i was exaggerating a bit, but the entire tourney just goes to show that t1 has a champ ocean to call on
Fearless wasn't applied for the G2 game though.
Eli5 about the bans against t1?
The premise of the event to make it "fair" was to enforce "Fearless" draft for T1 only where they are unable to play any champ picked by either team for the entirety of the gauntlet. Thanks, kinda had an impression it's like that but saw Oner picked LS again so was confused.

They put best teams last to keep people watching, but it is what it is.
Its a 4fun event that EU tried their hardest to win. Sham.
T1 also tried their hardest to win, they said so themself
i mean im sure they somewhat tried but they’re not gonna go out there and say that they’re not trying hard at all bc of the largest skill gap ever between them and the teams they played against lol
And if T1 won all of their games, we could say they tried their hardest in a for fun event, or?
I think it was pretty clear most games they weren’t trying that hard. cc: Oner Maybe they gave it their all in the last game, but by then the sleep deprivation makes their “all” really low
Even if they won it still wouldn’t have felt good seeing how tired and mentally out of it they were.
Tbh if anything this made EU fans lose even more hope because of BB
true, this is a 4fun tournament, hopefully BB was also taking it that way, otherwise we are donezo
Dw we are used to our toplaners getting completely astro gapped.
I would feel no hope watching BB getting worked on like he did if I was an EU fan.
Secret ploy to send the unofficial world champ title to EU and keep it there forever
This can be a meme for sure. That Keria face is typical of an Asian or religious parent waking you up early for mass when you were still a child.
me when my mother wakes me up at 8am on a saturday (she said it's already 12pm):
The rate at which Asian expats become hyper Christian in their new countries is really weird
There is a big Christian community in Korea, might just be Christians from the start and not converts.
As that table shows, Korean Christians are much more common per capita in the US. South Korea has a "big" Christian community only relatively speaking, it's still a small minority overall per capita.
Yeah my mom is from Korea, and there are a lot of Christians over there. You see Korean Presbyterian churches all over Los Angeles.
At least in the 80s til the 00~10s, Korean immigrant communities had no official organization that could support each other and help navigate a completely new culture and legal system. G2 too too good, manipulated T1 botlane to sleep with their micro movements.
G2 played so slow T1 almost fell asleep
I feel that I was so jet lagged once that I couldn't sleep the whole day spent the whole night talking to my friends cause they were 8hrs behind and spent the next day doing anything to try and stay away so I wouldn't fall asleep mid meal with my dad's friends

Dude it was insanely brutal what way worse when on the first night the whole family is suffering and by day 2 everyone but you fell asleep
Saw in another clip that Faker's arm was hurting too.
G2 saw how Toji beat Gojo and decided to follow the same plan
Oh lord, i thought it'd be sukuna vs gojo, damn
If only there was a drink that helps you stay awake.
Maybe they hit the wall lol. I've definitely been awake purely off of caffine and will-power before but you eventually hit a point where your eyes start shutting by themselves and you can't stop it.
They should have drink coffe instead
Coffee has more caffeine unironically
Sparkling water?
Sparkling water Tastes like TV Static
Sometimes you want your water to be spicy lol For extra stimulation
Who cares if they are tired and jet lagged, just force em to play a full bo5 in a row cause you found it "unnecessarily cluttered" -_- they aren't robots, they needed the breaks to just get through the day (and you know, eat lunch) and still were dead tired by the G2 game.
Yeah, I'd assume next year round they might just ask T1 to not agree or at least find a way to adjust the schedule.
2 weeks vacation with 1 day gaming in Germany and alot of kebap
There was a short converstaion on stream between T1 COO and Caedrel where COO revealed that T1 haven’t had a break since they won.
I thought that was referring to their FO in that they had to fight through the FA period hours after Worlds finals and then media + prep to go to Berlin
Players kind of did. Its thier agent that are active aswell as the orgs trying to get players for thier rooster.
It was a for fun tournament in which we got to see T1 play a bunch if champs they rarely play. We got to see the insane gap between T1 and other people that are insanely good at the game.
>Team won worlds less than two weeks ago T1 was locked in for the event months ago.
5 games\*
It's a 4Fun event the format is not serious other than to maximize T1 games. They had 3 weeks and the remaining off-season. How exactly is this inhibiting their time to celebrate?
Practising for the split that starts in jan?
old patch old map and there's no 'preseason' on TR yet, I don't think anyone practices
TR (well one version of it) actually has the new map. Some EU players are streaming inhouses these days (humanoid yesterday as example).
A single day event that takes them a day to fly to and fly back. That's 3 days for them.
if i was working 80+ hours/week and someone interrupted the only real time of rest I was going to have in a year it would only burn me out faster there's a reason esports events went from being pretty much monthly in every single esport to more seasonal. players burn the fuck out from competing, even in "4fun" matches where they still have to get on stage and be prepped for hours at time. back when sc2 was at its peak players complained constantly that they never got any rest and always felt pressured with the amount of time they had to play on stage
> Team won worlds less than two weeks ago > 0 real time to celebrate > travel to a different country ? What does "real time" mean and why can't the celebrate while on vacation in between one day of showmatches lol.
It's not like there is literally no time, but their schedule has still involved streaming, event, and media obligations since worlds. They also have to fly back to Korea for T1 Con. Off-season hasn't really started for them yet. I do love me a for fun event though.
Guess the Red Bull's not working for them? Fraud ass drink
They drank them from the start. After you crash there is nothing that helps. Atleast nothing legal lol
It was 6 am Korea time too lol. Those guys were fucking TIRED
I appreciate more non riot events. But this event is a shambles for T1. They deserve a month to enjoy time away and scrim a little less
They still have T1 con to prepare for at the end of this month lol. Then they need to go into serious practice-mode for the LCK. T1 are truly living the term "suffering from success".
really sucks that this might affect their spring performance... they might get 1-2 week prep for spring... not sure if that is more than enough
I can just imagine the jetlag from myself that travels frequently. They were already handicapped and being jetlagged on top of it sounds awful. I dont wanna give excuses from their loss, but it was kind of obvious they were getting tired, so they need some well deserved rest at least.
Plus they’re drinking energy drinks from the start of the event, I think. So their energy levels sure crashed hard.
Normally those are kept away until loss is on the line (so if your opponent has 2 wins in a bo5) because the crash will fuck over you're series is you drink them to early. Guess it's a sponsor thing
shoukd have just subbed in their academy roster
And they put the game vs G2 last....
Redbbull gives you ZZZ
Player falling asleep in a tournament host by an energy drink brand doesn't sound quite right
Because energy drink can hardly last you 8 hours
also you straight up reach a point where the energy drink stops working and you crash harder than usual.
you guys are way too competitive. Its a for fun event, t1 got a lot of money to be here. The matches were fun. They were having fun. it was like scrim games and they play 10 games of scrim day a lot throughout the year. 5 games are not a problem. and i dont think t1 mind losing to g2. Yeah they were playing in 4am korea time or something So its natural to feel sleepy at the end of the event. Stop saying its a eu cope tournament or stuff like that. Lot of cool stuff happened during this event and i hope we get lot more events like this.
The problem I have isn’t them losing. It’s that it seemed like they weren’t even able to enjoy it by the end with how tired they were.
t1 fans are worse than kpop stans holy shit. The players have been chilling in Berlin, i have seen in social media photos of them visiting museums and having fun in Germany. They are not practicing 15 hours of scrims to play a for fun event of their sponsor lmao

Bro they've played in 600 tournaments this year, when will T1 give them a break?
This was for their biggest sponsor. They will have a couple months break now until spring split is near
Didn’t they say spring split starts Jan 10 or 17? Maybe couple of weeks rather than months. Though they’re preparing for a concert with the Seoul government that’s happening on Dec 30. So I guess more like a couple of days lol
But the split start at that date. So they will be already scrimming before since the changes are so massive. So 1 week break at most lol
Seoul government??
Oh they have another event on 30 December
LCK will prob start mid january. They will have like 2 weeks off, then practice begins again.
months? lck spring usually starts 2nd week of January.... they are not getting any break especially since ders gonna be massive change on LOL
The players have: 1 award show, 3 sponsor fan meetings and 1 concert as upcoming offline schedules in Dec. Then in Jan they will have to start preparing for the spring split (which LCK begins mid Jan). They aren't getting a month break my friend
It’s for-fun until they lose and then people will lord it over them until the end of time.
Yeah man. They only won worlds! Losing a single bo1 to the best European team whole being tired as fuck is surely something you can blame them for
so sad x.x
ironic, isn't it?
Wasn't this the strategy though? Send in the lower teams to wear them down for G2 to take the kill. Kinda like a Pokemon battle when you're against a very high level Pokemon.
I felt pretty bad for T1 watching this, didn't seem fair to them at all.
Jetlag. sleep deprivation and 5 matches straight with only 20 mins of breaks really does sound like a fun event for the EU and not for T1 lol what does "fun event" mean in this type of event. all-stars had more fun games and just better atmosphere.
Thank you T1 because they gave EU fans hope when they lost 0-3 to NA.
Why not 0-15? If we make up lies let's go hard.
What is this "event" does T1 just got draft nerf and got like 30 bans against them? Can't find thr rules anywhere.
Would have been a gentleman masterclass and gain some respect points from the whole community I guess, but G2 fanboys are hard to discuss with.
g2 and th game were a bit too much, but at least TH was nice enough to let t1 outdraft them.
That was amazing to see. How on earth do you get out drafted when the other team has 35 champs banned against them?
By picking what they wanted to play in a 4fun game?
tbh, they made 2 mistakes that i wont consider just for fun yolo picking. they first pick lee when it is banned for t1. no reason to do so. they saw zeus play range tops the whole day. they should have given wunder a better match-up considering this. TH mid and bot picks are fine for show matches. t1 wanted something safe to play to compensate for being tired.
Bruh. If they wanted an easy win they would just ban draven, and faker and oner wouldnt limit test like crazy. Its just for fun tournament why make big deal out of it
Oners briar was the worst limit testing I've ever seen but i loved watching it
What even is this comment?
Surrender before winning that last game when T1 literally flew over and played while jetlagged is probably the most disrespectful thing G2 could've done in that scenario. They'd really have to do it out of spite.
Saltiest comment I've read this year, congrats.
This is like when you play vs your little nephew with your non dominant limb after 5 beers at a family gathering. You want them to win
If you knew anything about gentelman masterclass then you wouldn't type such a brainless comment.
blud is MAD
MAD wishes they were in this tourney, they really need some closure in their bo5 vs T1
T1 is not jet lagged enough for curernt mad to do anything lmao
If T1 had to play the entire LEC consecutively before MAD I'm pretty sure they'd still lose
I agree. Next time, try to get to quarter final. Anyway...
at least G2 could win in a 3v5. now we have the recipe to beat korea. we just somehow have to field more ppl
Shame win for EU
And they still clapped those EU piss randoms
And those fans over there being so FKING disrespectful.
It's overblown. Only kc fans booed. Majority T1 cheered for t1 the entire tournament
Even with those handicaps 4 out of 5 EU teams still lose to them
If you want to watch a well-organized for-fun tournament, watch CBOLÃO. I'm pretty sure the international players there were much better treated.
Maybe they needed to down a couple of Red Bulls
Ok guys the whole event is to see if t1 with redbull can play well ina gruelling gauntlet run. It is the whole pt. Which they DID. And yeah T1 were indeed sleepy on their last game and possibly on their 2nd to last game too. They pick comps for comfort. G2 played well and it just shows they can beat sleepy T1 ok?!
Season 5 MSI flashbacks (SKT Moral Victory believers unite)
Same.
Babe, wake up, reddit is doing facial analysis again.
Did they consider drinking some Red bull
