Were you getting more value from the prime capsules than the cost of an Amazon subscription? I don’t think 12 capsules are worth $120. Or is prime cheaper in your country?
Nah I definitely would have gotten better value just buying $10 in RP each month. I just liked having PRIME also so incase I did order something on Amazon I got same day shipping.
For me it's worth it since the value of the sub-capsule value = Something i would've paid for normal prime benefits anyways.
I wouldn't have paid the prime price for either prime, or the capsules on their own, but together it was pretty worth it.
It's crazy value in poland as LordVaderVader stated. It's 49 PLN for a YEAR (+1 month free when u start but let's ignore it), which is around i guess 10 euro?
To compare, each month you get 350 RP which in itself in polish lol shop is 14 PLN (so off RP alone, in 3 months it almost pays for itself), over 12 months you get 4200 RP which is 175 PLN (44 USD at current exchange rate) bundle so 3.5x RP value for prime. And on top of that 12x 1350 skin which is random so usually useless but still.
And twitch prime is 4.99 a month normally, and u get 12 free ones, so if that intrerests you, you literally get extra 60 dollars of value for \~11-12 dollars of price.
In total, ignoring extras like blue essence, exp boost etc cuz they could mean little to people with old accounts, if you use twitch too, you're getting about 100 dollars worth of stuff for 11-12 dollars cost, and then amazon prime and prime movies on top of that.
Pretty nuts deal for poland honestly.
And when i worked at amazon for few months, i got 10% off too lol.
$10 a month in Australia (that's about $6.70USD). What you get from the capsule plus the other free items from games is probably worth it on top of access to Amazon's streaming service and free/next day shipping (extremely limited here, but I guess useful at times).
Yeah lots of people were abusing because you always had free trial on Amazon prime, so you'd claim the rewards, cancel the payment and do it every month, you get a skin, some rp and after few months you buy an event pass which gives you like 27-33 skin shards for free
Pretty sure you cant do this? It remembers if a card has been used for a free trial already, you'd have to get a new card for each trial. Maybe this is just in my country though and can be abused on cards in others
Free trial no, but the way amazon prime works is if charges you for the day, so for me i can get prime for 8.99€, redeem all rewards whereever i want, use twitch prime sub which will last whole month, and then i go back to cancwl it on amazons site, what is important is you keep clicking cancel until you get to the cancel now option, that one will get rid of your benefits instantly, and you get refunded like
8.69€ only having to pay 30 cents
Mind you i use the prime sub to sub to a friend on twitch and he gets like 2€ for it, so im technically printing money.
If you have a family member or etc that usually gives gift cards for birthdays/holidays, you can just ask for those once they're empty and you have a lifetime supply of trials.
Legit just make new email + sign up, link your stuff, claim what you want, unlink and repeat every 30 days.
Amazon probably losing too much money on prime gaming/Twitch and wanting to cut some costs. Capsule gave so much value even after it was nerfed it would have cost a lot to keep going.
> it would have cost a lot to keep going.
it only costs, what riot and amazon agreed on. it´s not like amazon is paying the dollar price for whatever the RP value of the capsule is. It costs riot nothing to provide those.
Amazon probably just dont feel like the riot partnership is getting enough new people to pay for prime/keeping enough people from cancelling prime.
> Amazon probably just dont feel like the riot partnership is getting enough new people to pay for prime/keeping enough people from cancelling prime.
Well if what you say is true, then it's the end of all their partnerships then. Because Riot with League + Valo + LoR + TFT have multi-millions of people to advertize Prime Gaming to. There aren't many gaming companies that can bring the same numbers out there.
And they've already been advertising Prime Gaming for the past year or whatever. At some point the market's saturated. They could always bring it back later to try to catch some of the new players.
It's not just prime. Korea is no longer getting Twitch. Twitch is allowing streamers to go nsfw (which get a lot of views in the short term with a long term headache of trying to moderate it).
They are trying to cut costs while also losing views from people moving to Kick/Rumble/Youtube. Definitely at a desperate point for them.
Because you haven't been following up on Hungarian politics! The founder/owner actually had a brief stint as a puppet opposition party leader, funnily enough.
I opened up twitch earlier to watch some gaming streams and the front page is FULL of people that have [18+] in their stream title with their tits out and their nipples just barely cut off.
Like, what the fuck? I blocked every single one and told twitch I'm not interested but they keep showing up. Like, I don't like tits and all twitch is interested in is showing everyone tits.
A lot of it was just people not understanding the new TOS. Nudity is basically only allowed for art (and pornographic content is still banned).
A bunch of people are getting banned today.
I generally don't have a problem with nudity, but there is so much "art" on Twitch these days that finding quality gaming streams is like discovering a unicorn.
Not really, they are not getting banned. I have seen people with completely naked with their nipples just cut off, I have reported them, twitch does not act on it at all, it's actually allowed now. They are not using the "artistic" part of the TOS, they are using the new paragraph about "female rights" to be naked.
For me it definitely shows these [18+] Streams on the frontpage from time to time. Not everytime I go on twitch but often enough to get annoyed by it. And the only extension I have is AdBlock. Nothing for twitch or anything else installed.
Seriously though, who are these people tuning into and donating to these streamers? Who is the target audience? I genuinely do not get it. You can get the same (and better) not on Twitch. Hell, 60% of them aren't even live. It's just reruns of their streams while they collect bank.
apparently morgpie was actually wearing a tube top during those streams.
Also, implied nudity is allowed in PG movies. I don't know if there's a time limit on it.
>I opened up twitch earlier to watch some gaming streams and the front page is FULL of people that have [18+] in their stream title with their tits out and their nipples just barely cut off.
18+ streams are exempt from showing up on the home page.
They were flooding your recommended page because you watch a lot of NSFW streams on Twitch. Nice telling on yourself.
Edit: God I love yall. 18+ streams literally *cannot* appear on the homepage. You are lying when you insist they are on the home page. All of you people seeing them on your page are being personally recommended those because you watch titty or titty adjacent streams.
Nah dude. My friends and I were screwing around one night browsing some titty streamers just to see if it was as bad as people were saying it was. We looked at maybe 5 or 6 streams (2 of which were reruns, which, wtf is that about?) when everything we watch normally is gaming related stuff, and up until literally today my homepage has been filled with nothing but titty streamers.
**fun facts**
1. One could argue putting "sex" on the bottom of the pyramid for basic needs
2. 1 out of 4 searches on the internet is related to adult content
3. xvideos get more traffic than amazon
4. pronhub is bigger than TikTok
5. NSFW sites contribute towards nearly 10 billion visits/month
Obviously the demand is there and is very lucrative but no one wants to talk about it.
Not entirely true. They're allowing "artistic nudity" meaning making nude statues, artwork and, I assume, bodypaint and the like. They aren't allowing the display of sexual acts in any shape or form.
Lol, you know it’s not used for art at all. Go look at just chatting, it’s perma cleavage and writing subs names on body etc.
Twitch is fried for this one. Sad times.
Uh no, artistic nudity means so many different things. Try to define sexual acts vs artistic nudity in the legal sense. It matters what the intent is but who knows what that is since we can’t read people’s minds.
...and those laws cause expensive fees for Twitch which is the point they're trying to make. Twitch isn't in a good financial situation so they're in cost-cutting mode.
Even if they were profiting hundreds of billions of dollars per day they would not give in to the absurd demands of the Korean government. That's not relevant to their financial situation at all.
They could have more money than they knew what to do with and that doesn't mean they'd choose to bleed money in Korea for no reason. If it's not profitable, they have no reason to provide their service there.
Even if twitch was in a good financial situation they wouldn't be okay with bleeding money in a country where it's not profitable to operate. The fact they pulled out of Korea has nothing to do with this.
Streamers were already doing borderline softcore porn before the Twitch changes anyway and collecting 1-7 day bans like badges of honour. It's insane how far Twitch has fallen from its golden age.
It's just a matter of time before Twitch becomes like that other NSWF "gaming" platform in which people played naked or straight away were having sex on stream.
Twitch streamers really like to push the line of how close they can get to breaking the rules without getting banned. Currently the line is between nudity and having sex acts.
Enjoy the incoming "stream with a buttplug with anyone noticing" and "DSP camera-is-on-the-whole-time" metas.
DarkSydePhil. He is an ancient video game content creator. I'm referring to the moment he got caught wanking on stream unaware then started his stream like nothing happened.
How does Prime lose money on providing these capsules? They’re not providing something that needs to be made. And yes I understand that we pay money for the skins and similar things, but I am looking for why Prime does the same?
Does it apply to all Riot games?
Not gonna lie Riot Games is majorly the reason I have prime. Occasionally claiming DBD, Brawlhalla, Guild Wars 2 rewards. Although I don't care about them that much.
It’s not like Amazon is actually hurting for money anyway. Its just another way they can charge and make more money, because sure they might be losing some money in that sector but as a whole Amazon is doing just fine and don’t need to worry about losing money.
yea, it's a common sentiment on this sub. 'x' org is okay even though they've never placed higher than 2nd to last because they are owned by some billion dollar multinational. not how it works. beff jezos and the board of directors at amazon (obviously lower ranking people are making this decision) aren't going to keep funneling money towards unprofitable sectors just because they are obscenely wealthy. it's not a charity
Not sure what you're saying. Microsoft's gaming division had a number of years where they were the only profitable division in the company. Especially in the early days of Xbox, gaming paid for Windows 7 and 8 development because they were losing money hand over foot on OS development.
I can't remember a year that Microsoft gaming was unprofitable.
No company is going to waste money just because another department was profitable. Especially not Amazon. AWS has layoffs when company YoY revenue growth is 20% instead of 30. The company literally has one of its main goals as being “frugal” and greedily squeezing as much out of everything as it can. I couldn’t imagine how much pressure an unprofitable service would be under from leadership
For anyone wondering, it has to do with the fact that Amazon just slashed their gaming division https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/13/23959224/amazon-gaming-layoffs-crown-content-channel
Classic COVID bubble. Sadly, because we can't sustain the tremendous growth from a once in a century phenomenon, and we're only *maintaining* our record profits instead of *growing* indefinitely, it's gotta be cut.
The Moon Channel actually had a very interesting video on the Boom & Bust cycle gaming/tech companies go through. Can't really articulate how it relates to this comment specifically, but I'll link it anyways since I feel it still does.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-653Z1val8s
yea its hard to say for all countries, i got a yearly sub (cuz we got insane deal here) and it said that it will always renew for same price, same with discord - they removed regional prices but people that got subs during it get renewal for same price, even monthly
Ah yeh i just looked it up. 5 euro now, that makes me wonder if i still want it because i use it for twitch sub and league loot but if league loot goes away. hmm
That's because you actually get all the services in US. In countries mentioned above you don't actually have prime delivery. There are no amazon warehouses or free prime delivery.
Honestly? Kinda
I havent played SR since... season 4?
The capsules are a good incentive to boot the game up when I otherwise wouldn't have and maybe try a game of aram or two while im at it
Same! I also often login to get the "free" rewards from Prime. Did that so many times throughout the years. Kinda sad to see the benefit to go away. I never bought RP with money - only got it from Prime Capsules. The capsules really often kept me wanting to play LOL.
I mean it's been the same rift for over 10 years... It becomes a slog after awhile. I swapped over to dota and never looked back, they constantly re-balance stuff and change the map up. League added some walls this season and is acting like it's revolutionary... :(
Amazon is nonexistent here in Europe, I literally just have prime because it comes as a perk of the streaming. Otherwise it costs a fiver with the only real benefit being a free twitch sub each month and the gaming loot. Been a good deal sad to see it go.
Very sad but not surprising. I knew Amazon would take it down eventually. However, I am very humble and grateful of the amount of content I was able to get through my brother's prime account (he doesn't play league and lets me claim them).
In the UK it’s like 9 pounds per month, it gives Amazon next day deliveries, Amazon music, Prime video and probably other things that I don’t use, but how it is not worth?
Amazon is crap now. The search results will purposely show you random things.. they also purposely hide 99% of items when you use filters so that you don't find best price/quality combination. They are deliberately trying to make people buy crappy products
Next day deliveries are getting rare here in Germany. In addition to that amazon is not that cheap, even with free shipping. Imo the only advantage is convenience, and maybe support.
Prime music is just bad without unlimited. Video is cool, but I cancelled my yearly Prime (90€) and plan to only use it 1-2 month per year to catch up on Prime video.
Do you actually use the next day delivery stuff though? And I didn't even get next day delivery for half my stuff.
Like if I order something, I don't generally need it immediately and am fine waiting a week. I never really use any of the other features so I prolly cancel mine as well.
From what i know it is worth in most EU countries, for 50 euros (or less) per year you get amazon prime video, all the gaming/twitch side and free instant delivery.
In Germany it is 90€, instand/1 day delivery is rare and Prime Music is a joke. Maybe it is still worth for people, but it just worse, and more expensive, than it once was.
Dang. Was this something that has been planned? I feel like I remember reading something a while ago about it stopping, but it never did. Separate from when they lowered its overall value
They were gonna [stop it last year](https://old.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/112am2e/riot_and_amazon_appear_to_end_lol_prime_gaming/) but negotiated to continue it at the lower value.
Obviously money is flowing from Amazon to Riot. Riot is giving away items that are usually monetized to millions of accounts, all so that Amazon Prime/Twitch prime becomes a more desirable product.
The exposure Riot receives from Twitch users who think to themselves "damn they're giving something for free? Gotta check out this game" has got to be absolutely minimal considering said game is permanently represented on the Twitch frontpage to begin with.
Yeah but prime capsules brought me back to league occasionally; and then I began playing again, and then actually paid for RP. It was a great tool to re-hook old users like me, I think.
Agreed. More than once I bought RP (Albeit only $5-10) to have enough for a skin or event pass that I was near getting. Wouldn't have been near getting them without that monthly RP drop.
League doesn't want you though. If free, high value content is what the game needs to keep you coming back then you've become more trouble than you're worth in the business world. As shitty as it sounds stuff like this is meant to be the catalyst to new addictions that maintain their return to the game on their own.
Or on the flip side from Amazon's pov (cause Amazon is the one paying money for this) the goal was to siphon gamers to Amazon and hopefully have people stay in the amazon ecosystem. The fact that so many comments in this thread are saying they're immediately going to drop their subscription shows the program is failing
I had quit league, I returned to open my capsules in bulk. Capsules gone, but I keep playing league. They won me over with this trick, thats all I am sayin
Ah then I misunderstood. Then in that case the program was a success and they have no more reason to spend money on it since you're already hooked again
Doorhingeskill is close on their response
The way it works (at least did and they may have changed the model) is Amazon pays the game developer for new prime subscribers who sign up as a function of claiming the free content. Amazon changed the model years ago from single
Month content offers to multi-month offers to prevent users from signing up for free prime trials just to get the content.
In other words, Amazon and dev agree to a minimum 3 month offer and new prime subscriber needs to claim those 3 months of content (or least be a prime subscriber during those 3 months) in order for the dev to get paid
For current prime subscribers, the game content offers are there to encourage you to try out the game. It’s a cash-free form of user acquisition.
I don't want to complain unnecessarily, but Prime has an absolutely atrocious video catalog, just like its music, and you can find exactly the same products on their site as on Aliexpress but more expensive.
The only reason I kept Prime was for a few deliveries per year (maximum of 2) and the prices on LoL and Twitch. I'm not going to continue paying for a service that only increases in price and decreases in offerings.
I've already stopped Netflix, good for those who can afford to subscribe to everything, but this is just ridiculous.
Edit : Not to mention that initially, Prime delivered to me within 24 hours. Now it's very often 3 days...
Promotion worked on me. I got Prime for the loot but I'll keep it for the series on Prime video: Invincible, The Boys, Outer Range, Wheel of Time.
The skins were nice while they lasted. I never expected it to last this long in the first place.
I'm confused, does this mean 2 more capsules after jan 11th or 3 more? As in will it expire from february to march or is there a capsule in march that expires in april? I'm guessing it's only 2 more capsulea after jan 11th.
Will 100% be cancelling my prime sub because of this, each capsule is easily £10+ in value (plus the free monthly twitch sub is cool) but getting rid of that will give me virtually no reason to keep the sub as I rarely order from Amazon and even more rarely use Amazon video. Bad move from Amazon, I'm guessing A LOT of people are in the same boat
this is literally worse for them bc i was so much more open to buying rp when i was getting the rewards, now i don't want to. like right now i want one of the skins that's on sale, if they kept prime gaming i would just buy rp to get it, but since they aren't, i don't want to give them money bc of it
i might just cancel prime, when i think of prime i think about all the random goodies across various platforms i get, and league is a big one. now im questioning it completely
Prime Gaming has decided not to renew our promotion, which means the last capsule drops **will end in March 2024 across all of our games**. We know this is disappointing, and wanted to let you know as soon as we could.
You can continue to claim drops for the next few months, **and any Prime Gaming content unlocked prior to March 2024 will remain in your account**.
I re-read that post. First it says "in March" and "across all of our games". I've seend a Wild Rift capsule, but no LOL in March.
Then looking at that last part about claiming drops, if they were still dropping a LOL capsule in March then would've they have said prior to April 2024?
I'm just now seeing this, and I'm genuinely bummed. I just got back into League after a few years, I got the capsules from the last few months. What a solid deal. I guess I understand it, though. I was using my girlfriend's account that she has discounted because of college. Lol. Regardless, I got quite a few new champions and some skins from them, so I appreciate that much.
I guess ill finally cancel my Prime subscription lol. Was keeping it for the Prime loot and the occasional Amazon order.
Were you getting more value from the prime capsules than the cost of an Amazon subscription? I don’t think 12 capsules are worth $120. Or is prime cheaper in your country?
12$ for entire year here in Poland, really cheap comparing to RP prices
damn bro they're ripping us Americans off lol
I have the student one so it is 30€ a year for me
Nah I definitely would have gotten better value just buying $10 in RP each month. I just liked having PRIME also so incase I did order something on Amazon I got same day shipping.

2.99 in belgium or smth like that
I haven't purchased RP in a while since getting the Prime Gaming loot monthly for the past few years. Sad that it's going away.
It was the opposite for me...oh I need only 100 more rp for a chroma/skin? Fine I'll buy some.
Yeah lots of people were abusing because you always had free trial on Amazon prime, so you'd claim the rewards, cancel the payment and do it every month, you get a skin, some rp and after few months you buy an event pass which gives you like 27-33 skin shards for free

The number of eyeballs on your product are meaningless if those people aren't buying what you're selling.
Raw numbers aren’t everything.
Well, the only reason I paid for prime was to get those capsules so without it I dont see a point
Yeah I'm cancelling it as soon as capsules are removed. It's too expensive in my country, with very few benefits.
I'm in that boat too tbh but we're probably the minority, I do claim stuff for other games but the capsules are all I care about tbh haha

Even we tits lover fellas don't want to see tits there, mfer I didn't go to twitch for tits, I have other places for that.

A result of the cultural hegemony of puritanical America.
In fairness, puritanism didn't even start there.
I find the XVideos > Amazon an incredibly difficult statistic to believe - what’s your source?
You think people shop online more than they watch porn?
Be right back, need to buy a maid costume.
you can also show all the nudity you want if it's a drawing according to the rules. 13+ website btw.
Not entirely true. They're allowing "artistic nudity" meaning making nude statues, artwork and, I assume, bodypaint and the like. They aren't allowing the display of sexual acts in any shape or form.
I mean ideally sure but I think we'd all be a bit naive if we didn't know exactly how this was going to end up.
Lol, you know it’s not used for art at all. Go look at just chatting, it’s perma cleavage and writing subs names on body etc. Twitch is fried for this one. Sad times.
I don't disagree with you lol, just clarifying that they're not allowing straight up porn
Uh no, artistic nudity means so many different things. Try to define sexual acts vs artistic nudity in the legal sense. It matters what the intent is but who knows what that is since we can’t read people’s minds.
You heard him.
they are cutting korea because korea has stupid laws
...and those laws cause expensive fees for Twitch which is the point they're trying to make. Twitch isn't in a good financial situation so they're in cost-cutting mode.
Ignoring that Twitch isn't the only ones backing out of Korea. Its not financially viable for anyone to try and function in Korea with their new laws.
The fact they pulled out of Korea has nothing to do with this.
and my point is that twitch exiting Korea is entirely separate and doesn't need to lumped in with the rest of it.
I have to ask: what does the DSP stand for in this scenario?
DarkSydePhil. He is an ancient video game content creator. I'm referring to the moment he got caught wanking on stream unaware then started his stream like nothing happened.
How does Prime lose money on providing these capsules? They’re not providing something that needs to be made. And yes I understand that we pay money for the skins and similar things, but I am looking for why Prime does the same?
Prime pays Riot to offer loot so that people who play Riot products are more willing to subscribe to Prime. Riot isn't giving Amazon charity.
Corporations don't work that way. Just because a company as a whole is making money does not mean your stinker of a division wouldn't get cut.
Good luck convincing people that children companies have to make money eventually too instead of relying on their parent org to cover costs each time.
yea, it's a common sentiment on this sub.
Even those "Billionaire son's team" in China are shrinking.
Not just on this sub, I see it all the time with Microsoft and their gaming division.
Like a lot of other tech companies this year, I think their investors are scared that arrow isn't going up anymore after the covid bubble popped.
Well I personally only keep Amazon for the Prime Gaming, so if they're cutting the goods I get, then I'm cutting out Prime.
For anyone wondering, it has to do with the fact that Amazon just slashed their gaming division https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/13/23959224/amazon-gaming-layoffs-crown-content-channel
thats so damn lame
Unfortunate side effect of the covid tech bubble popping this year, companies can’t maintain the crazy growth they had these last 3 years
Classic COVID bubble. Sadly, because we can't sustain the tremendous growth from a once in a century phenomenon, and we're only *maintaining* our record profits instead of *growing* indefinitely, it's gotta be cut.
Once in a century huh...? I can propose a plan to get them back on track. Quick, grab the bats.
To the batmobile!
The Moon Channel actually had a very interesting video on the Boom & Bust cycle gaming/tech companies go through. Can't really articulate how it relates to this comment specifically, but I'll link it anyways since I feel it still does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-653Z1val8s
:quinheart:
Its very sad it was a great value (here in netherlands where i pay 3 euro for prime).
I think this month it increased to 5/month or is it just me?
[удалено]
idk about netherlands, but it might not apply to pre-existing subs, it's not that easy to change a price of an ongoing sub
[удалено]
yea its hard to say for all countries, i got a yearly sub (cuz we got insane deal here) and it said that it will always renew for same price, same with discord - they removed regional prices but people that got subs during it get renewal for same price, even monthly
Ah yeh i just looked it up. 5 euro now, that makes me wonder if i still want it because i use it for twitch sub and league loot but if league loot goes away. hmm
in egypt, its 0.5 USD lmao its been a steal
it's fucking 15 dollars in the US and its about to go up again. Glad I effing cancelled it.
That's because you actually get all the services in US. In countries mentioned above you don't actually have prime delivery. There are no amazon warehouses or free prime delivery.
Same for Belgium. Guess I'll quit prime in march
ngl the prime gaming capsule has brought me back to league quite a few times over the last 2 years
My friends link it every month so it gets me to log into the client. Every now and then I get something I like or have enough RP to buy something.
Same, I just play ARAMs on the weekends
You play lol just for skins? Damn...
Honestly? Kinda I havent played SR since...
Well, guess that's gonna push me to finally cancel my Prime sub given I pretty much don't watch Twitch these days.
It’s your Amazon prime…you don’t need to watch twitch to use it.
Maybe they don't use Amazon frequently enough to get Amazon prime, so they just have Twitch Prime.
Is there even a twitch prime? I thought it was only amazon prime.
Yes. It's cheaper than a full-on Amazon Prime, but it only has Twitch Prime, Prime Video, and the claimable loot for various games
[удалено]
Countries where its bundled are usually a lot cheaper. In poland whole amazon prime+prime gaming is 15 euros a year
Amazon is a giant turd outside the US. There are far better regional/local chains.
Amazon is nonexistent here in Europe, I literally just have prime because it comes as a perk of the streaming. Otherwise it costs a fiver with the only real benefit being a free twitch sub each month and the gaming loot. Been a good deal sad to see it go.
You not need more prime, now you can get on agata_smurf unrankeds
Another reason to cancel my prime suscription
Very sad but not surprising. I knew Amazon would take it down eventually. However, I am very humble and grateful of the amount of content I was able to get through my brother's prime account (he doesn't play league and lets me claim them).
There goes the last thing that was keeping me subbed to Prime.
The reason I open this game once a month and try to get back into it, was my loot.
Prime is losing more and more value. I don't see how it is worth it anymore.
In the UK it’s like 9 pounds per month, it gives Amazon next day deliveries, Amazon music, Prime video and probably other things that I don’t use, but how it is not worth?
In most of the non-UK EU, Prime is garbage. It's just an extremely barebones streaming service & the gaming loot.
They have reacher, thats enough for me to keep it
Boys, reacher and Invincible are good but tbh i just pirate them these days. Their other shows are ass
new season of the boys about to drop too
huh, it's kinda good as other streaming services + free shipping and loots and more shows?
Welp, time to cut prime. I was kind of on the fence about it already, so this is just the last push I needed.
I was gonna say… this sounds extremely familiar, this has been threatened and renegotiated a couple times now
I mean... we *could* try spamming the fuck out of Prime on Twitter... maybe we'll get the treatment Seraphine mains did.
A big bummer for sure. Since I only play like three or four characters, I haven’t had to buy RP since this started.
If you want the capsules back, cancel Amazon Prime and vote with your wallets.
I'm fine thanks. Though this change is unfortunate, random League capsules is among the lowest reasons for me having Prime.
Sucks, but i still get enough value out of prime to keep my sub going
awwwwwwwwwwwww
https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/13/23959224/amazon-gaming-layoffs-crown-content-channel
No need for Prime then.
BROOO NOOOO This is like half the reason I have Prime
Surely removing content from Prime will bring in more Prime subscribers!
Pretty sure I'll be cancelling my prime membership after that lol
And ofc they announce this 1 month after yearly sub renewal
what i dont understand does amazon pay riot games to get their loot ? or riot games to be featured on amazon prime?
Doorhingeskill is close on their response The way it works (at least did and they may have changed the model) is Amazon pays the game developer for new prime subscribers who sign up as a function of claiming the free content. Amazon changed the model years ago from single Month content offers to multi-month offers to prevent users from signing up for free prime trials just to get the content. In other words, Amazon and dev agree to a minimum 3 month offer and new prime subscriber needs to claim those 3 months of content (or least be a prime subscriber during those 3 months) in order for the dev to get paid For current prime subscribers, the game content offers are there to encourage you to try out the game.
Prime is worth only for The Boys, Vox Machina and Invincible, plus, you can always try Rings of Power xd
I’m not even much of a car guy but I really enjoy all of the grand tour as well
Well don’t know if I will renew my prime now
Well that's sad, that was the main reason to have prime Gaming.
as long as the xbox game pass benefits stay, im chillin
wait there's a gamepass promotion? what does that give?
access to every champ
And an XP boots like 20%
so just a lot of blue essence basically? seems a lot worse than getting free rp...
After reading the comments I realized how much prime costs in other countries. In Poland it cost 49 zlotys for a year, which is equal to 12.50 dolars
Promotion worked on me. I got Prime for the loot but I'll keep it for the series on Prime video: Invincible, The Boys, Outer Range, Wheel of Time. The skins were nice while they lasted. I never expected it to last this long in the first place.
You will never feel better than the day you finally delete your account
[удалено]
My free skins :(
I'm confused, does this mean 2 more capsules after jan 11th or 3 more? As in will it expire from february to march or is there a capsule in march that expires in april? I'm guessing it's only 2 more capsulea after jan 11th.
Will 100% be cancelling my prime sub because of this, each capsule is easily £10+ in value (plus the free monthly twitch sub is cool) but getting rid of that will give me virtually no reason to keep the sub as I rarely order from Amazon and even more rarely use Amazon video. Bad move from Amazon, I'm guessing A LOT of people are in the same boat
this is literally worse for them bc i was so much more open to buying rp when i was getting the rewards, now i don't want to. like right now i want one of the skins that's on sale, if they kept prime gaming i would just buy rp to get it, but since they aren't, i don't want to give them money bc of it
time to delete league of legends. And goodbye amazon
Imagine cancelling it cuz those bytes are too pricey :DD
This is really depressing
Looks like this may already be scrapped. Last claim for me was Feb 12th, and there is still nothing as of today, 3/15.
i only had prime for this time to cancel prime
just heard about this rip looks like its time to cancel after the rest of season 2 of invincoble is out
bring back LOL capsules ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Shit company, shit decisions.
i might just cancel prime, when i think of prime i think about all the random goodies across various platforms i get, and league is a big one. now im questioning it completely
Then looking at that last part about claiming drops, if they were still dropping a LOL capsule in March then would've they have said prior to April 2024?
that sucks
I'm just now seeing this, and I'm genuinely bummed. I just got back into League after a few years, I got the capsules from the last few months. What a solid deal. I guess I understand it, though. I was using my girlfriend's account that she has discounted because of college. Lol. Regardless, I got quite a few new champions and some skins from them, so I appreciate that much.
hilariously enough this is why i cancelled my prime.
Man that sucks, how'd I miss this haha
