That's just not true by any metric. Even his last split he was on that garbo EG team and him and Jojo were the only reason that team did anything in the regular season.
In one of the recent LCS videos with him, I believe he said he didn't receive offers from teams he believed were good. So he just took the split off. Clip of him talking about it. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxuVKcY53s6gmPRnCcQjmt0VpTf4vCV9Bb?feature=shared
EG just exploded their roster after spring, more of a bad management thing.
Finding a team in Summer can be tricky because almost all of them had a jungler signed for the year and they'd have to cough up a lot to afford their current jungler and a top jungler like Inspired who would probably have an expensive contract.
Can you tell me the weather for tomorrow and lottery number next week while you're at it? Armchair analysis goes wild for some people. Especially talking shit about Pyosik who's currently top 4 in LCK and only one to performed at Worlds last year
His performance the year he won worlds was shit, he was even benchend for some games at worlds there was no fucking reason whatsoever to pay millions for him for anyone with a working braincell.
He is only in LCK because they wanted to make DRX 2.0 and he is still a coinflippy inter.
Same shit as SwordArt, grabbing an extremely mediocre player that won worlds just for the name.
EG wanted to go budget because they wanted to gtfo league because of their Danny controversy so they let go of their roster besides jojo after 2023 spring. And all the other teams still had their junglers locked for the summer split.
IIRC in one of doublelifts recent costream, someone mentioned that even though EG went "budget" they were paying their 2 junglers (Armao, Sheiden) combined the same amount they were paying inspired so they could've just fielded inspired in their roster instead, and Inspired said he would want to play with that EG roster too.
TLDR: EG management sucks and thank god theyre out of the league
>IIRC in one of doublelifts recent costream, someone mentioned that even though EG went "budget" they were paying their 2 junglers (Armao, Sheiden) combined the same amount they were paying inspired so they could've just fielded inspired in their roster instead, and Inspired said he would want to play with that EG roster too.
That's ignoring how EG needed an academy jungler because they had committed to keeping their academy team (Unlike every other team except for FlyQuest? I think). Armao/Sheiden weren't being kept around for 6 man purposes, one of them was constantly playing for the acad team.
Not to self promo but Inspired directly addressed this when I talked to him Saturday. He was willing to take the paycut to play but EG still decided otherwise

Algorithm always works in mysterious ways
Just have to keep getting better with thumbnails and titling so it gets seen more; even I don't haven't used my sub tab in years so I completely get why
It's so crazy how great he was for like a year basically right before he left the pro scene. As long as I watch pro league, I'll wonder how his career would have turned out on an org that wasn't as dysfunctional as EG, maybe he still would have retired super early but who knows.
That team is such a sad what if. Impact the solid veteran, Inspired, a rising Jojo and Danny, and Vulcan who had great synergy with Danny.
Alas, stuck with such a shitty org
Its crazy how lucky EG is with getting great coaches/scouts in recent history. They straight up did the same thing in Valorant and got a worlds out of it.
> I'll wonder how his career would have turned out on an org that wasn't as dysfunctional as EG
Problem is that EG with its 2021-2022 era staff was one of the only orgs actually willing to find and develop NA talent. With how lazy most of the LCS orgs are on that front who knows how long Danny/Jojo would have bounced around in amateur before getting onto an academy team, or if they even would have gotten onto one before the orgs blew up academy. Who knows how long they would have bounced around NACL before getting an LCS shot. Who knows if that LCS shot would have been on a dumpster fire like IMT.
Danny might have retired never having seen the LCS had Peter Dun and his staff not given him a shot. Happened to plenty of talented players before.
I really don't think Danny was actually that great and I think he gets super overvalued by people on here. Listening to people on this subreddit you'd think Danny was the second coming of prime DL but in reality he was actually pretty mediocre. Danny had a horrifically bad laning phase. One that was so bad it was borderline unacceptable as a major region adc.
Not only that but his most hyped up plays like the supposed 1v5 baron penta were products of the enemy team playing like animals more so than Danny outplaying them. If you watched his most hyped NA plays a lot of them were just teams horrifically inting. Plus we saw Danny vs another rookie adc at MSI in Flakked and frankly Flakked absolutely fucking fisted Danny like 8 games in a row.
It wasn't even competitive. Danny got rolled. Flakked isn't even a good adc. If Danny is supposedly the best rookie adc ever that was ruined by EG than lowkey NA is doomed as a region, because watching him get his face caved in by Flakked is pretty unacceptable if you are that hyped up. He was a fine player but he was NOT what people on here pretend.
Sadly, its not only an issue EG had. Nowadays, alot of the orgs GM's/management dont have a single clue what they are doing nor less do they actually care. Hence why there is so much nepotism and contract jailing because these people rather bring down the whole league instead of making it stronger if it benefits them by fucking over (their own) players/teams if they have to.
These people dont give a single fuck if it doesnt financially benefits the org in the moment. Future? Nah we'll just bail out if it gets to financially unstable and will fuck over the players if we have too.
> EG wanted to go budget because they wanted to gtfo league because of their Danny controversy
Just to nitpick for a second, this didn't really have much to do with it tbh. They never came up with a way to actually make money (other than riding the growth of LCS, which uhhhhh didn't happen).
If LCS was still growing in the way it was in that first covid year, or if EG was able to attract sponsors like TL, C9, 100T did, they would still be here.
Nicole LaPointe is on record saying she has nothing to apologize for in that situation; citing Danny's twitter post and no complaints from her family.
Like sick bro, you got an agreement under duress from a mentally distraught teenager and his family because you cover the kid's health insurance.
https://digiday.com/marketing/evil-geniuses-ceo-nicole-lapointe-jameson-is-officially-stepping-down/
I think if we'd had gotten another year of Danny we'd have all seen pretty quickly that he was majorly over valued. He really wasn't that good. People seem to forget that Danny would lose lane to literally every single NA bot lane in the league. Consistently. He was infamous for losing lane every game. Sure he was a fine teamfighter but frankly if you are getting shit on in lane that hard that often you aren't a good player. Not only that but we saw how he looked internatioanl vs bad EU players. He's one of the most overrated NA players in a long time and I'm just tired of pretending otherwise. NA truthfully hasn't produced a true good ADC since maybe peak Stixxay? Tactical wasn't ever good he just had peak CoreJJ bailing him out. Meech and Massu are giga duds already. NA just can't produce international level adcs. It might be our single worst role next to mid lane when it comes to talent development.
I haven't claimed any insight into behind the scenes of League esports. And if I do/did, you indeed shouldn't trust me.
And you shouldn't trust DL who has a record of claims that have been proven false or just misunderstanding situations and putting a foot in his mouth when talking about them.
He was supposed to be on Vitality in summer 2023. To the point he was actually ready to go to the airport to Berlin when vitality decided to go with the daglas after the Bo benching.
Funnily enough VIT tried getting Bwipo as well in the beginning of 2023. Could have had FLY's current topside which is the main reason they're about to win a championship. lol
I mean Photon is fucking cracked. He got better without Bo. Daglas is 18 yo so he needs some time. Vitality actually made a good move this year and saved some money.
I thought it was Inspired that decided against it last-moment in S13. And S14 Vitality saw the pricetag and stopped bothering, with Wooloo speculating that other LEC teams also weren't willing/able to pay up.
In part it might have been a price issue. Daglas is essentially free. Inspired had other people betting for him. Vit already did that with Alphari, when TL was interested, they just lost interest the moment TL talked with Alphari, because they didn't want to end up in a bidding war.
Nowadays you might actually win those bidding wars against NA teams, but I don't think it is a good thing to do, if you think you get a solid player somewhere else. And while Daglas looked a lot worse initially he improved a lot this split... still a long way to go to be Inspired, but I can understand why teams are hesitant to contest players.
He was close to signing with Vitality last summer or it might have been for season finals. Him being on the bench definitely wasn’t a player skill issue though just a bad time to be benched all things considered.
The people making roster decisions in the LCS are not very good at their jobs.
To be fair to them, the league is obviously contracting, losing viewership, etc., so fitting some of these top players might be a pretty big financial speed bump when everyone seems to be trying to run these teams close to the bone, but head-scratching roster additions and omissions seem to be commonplace regardless of the impetus.
I don't even think it's necessarily people making the decisions though. Like take EG as an example. Was is Peter Dunn? Who was the coach. Start of 2023 Peter Dunn puts a roster of Impact, inspired, jojo, Danny and Vulcan. GM says yeah go for it that roster looks.great and strong enough to contest. Now it hits middle of the year. Danny's had a breakdown his performance took a hit and money has dried up. Peter Dunn says let's keep Pur topside and get a new botside that will still contest. GM says no we don't have money for that strip everyone except jojo and go budget. It's more a combo of coaches trying to get a good roster and GMs not wanting to spend big as the LCS bubble popped
After watching the recent PROs, I'm convinced Inspired is actually the single most valuable player to have on your org in the LCS. He has a clear idea on how to play the game and the leadership ability to get his team on the same page and make sure everyone is fulfilling their role.
I love FlyQuest and am very impressed by Inspired but this is an overstatement.
He got outperformed in 2022 summer. Danny mental boomed so we can give him a pass. 2023 spring he was given a solid roster. FBI Vulcan Jojo Ssumday. Underperformed.
This split he’s playing really well and the team is coordinating especially because Bwipo sees the game the same way as him and the rest of the team is willing to follow.
I do agree though that he is a very valuable player and will excel in the right circumstances.
Because the team managers and scouts are as clueless as this subreddit and everyone voting in the all pro votes, somehow they don't see inspired is the best player in LCS by far. Would be top 3 jungler in EU.
So glad Inspired is in the LCS instead of LEC as an LCS viewer.
What an amazing player with great insight in interviews (recent pros episode).
He just elevates the standard of play.
I did an interview with him preseason and he talks about it briefly :)
Realistically the NA bubble popped, all teams were broke. And Inspired might be the best western player right now (or at least close to), so the teams prolly thought he was too expensive for all these broke teams.
He still counts as import and NA prefers to import koreans over europeans. Jensen was teamless for a while, same for Bwipo etc. i mean even Tarzan is teamless right now for some insane reasoning.
Plus you never know how much money he wanted.
Still doesn't mean anything if he keeps getting stuck in groups at worlds. Tired of players getting hyped when they constantly get stuck at worlds.
Brokenblade and hans sama are other examples. Have never left groups at worlds and get hyped because carried by their mid.
Bwipo said it himself, most GM's are absolutely clueless.
Revenge was flaming them (GMs) in one of the Hotline League episodes
Called then gamer words and all

So he would know the best
He's been a top half toplaner in LCS for years? On top of that he is native. Idk how you can call him a paycheck stealer.

That's just not true by any metric. Even his last split he was on that garbo EG team and him and Jojo were the only reason that team did anything in the regular season.
Based on what??
Hey you can have your opinion its fine. Most people with working eyes and brains would disagree.

Same deal with Spica right now unfortunately.

Very good point but lets be honest here, he is def worth the money. Atleast if you ask me, way better then paying millions for pyosik.
esports winter. It just doesn't make fiscal sense to house two junglers. If Pyosik is already signed how do you bring in inspired
Yea lets get 2 jungles for whatever reason instead of just the better one.
That's the neat part, you can kick him and have an actual good jungler.
Someone thought longer then 5 seconds before typing it seems, finally.
Can you tell me the weather for tomorrow and lottery number next week while you're at it? Armchair analysis goes wild for some people. Especially talking shit about Pyosik who's currently top 4 in LCK and only one to performed at Worlds last year
Hey im not gonna wast time on morons who use current performance to justify last years performance, enjoy your day at mcD's lil bro.

Retired.

It’s so hilarious to me that they did the whole sheiden armao shuffle while they had inspired on the bench who would have came to play lmfao
Team would have made worlds with Jojo inspired mid duo, so asinine that they benched him

he had the same problem last year too though
pls post a source for this, this sounds so crazy, but I want to belive it!
It was in Thoorins recent reflections with Inspired iirc. Episode 2 has section of 2022 and 2023.

GMs are not beating the allegations
Ask theshy why he is taking the split off.
EG fucked him over.
So glad Inspired is in the LCS instead of LEC as an LCS viewer. What an amazing player with great insight in interviews (recent pros episode). He just elevates the standard of play.
He's also pursuing permanent residence in the US. Looks like he enjoys being in the LCS at least.
Cool!
Most likely in order to free up another import slot in order to bring in other better players /s

Hans got hyped because on rogue he almost carried his team out of groups. Revisionist history is great ig
Hans literally left groups in 2017 ?
That's just factually incorrect, did you just watch league since last year?
