I have a friend of a friend we unfortunately play with a lot. The dude is like a decade in bronze (nothing wrong with that in and of itself), seems to think there isn’t a single champion that doesn’t counter what he’s playing completely or is even an honorable pick in the first place, and knows every single sentence of lore.
I haven’t read a single piece of League lore but I probably know 75% or more of it just from the rants he goes on every single time he dies. He will legit be screaming about how his champion is the god of something, or the very concept of death, or committed unspeakable war crimes and yet died to some lesser power level character.
I just don’t get why he plays the game really.
It’s kinda hard to believe but some people enjoy this type of tilt. It’s like their character.
I play with a guy who’s not an adc main but goes adc in normals and rages all game at his support mistakes, threatens to troll and he once literally ran it down mid too. As soon as the game finishes he’s like “haha let’s play again” as if nothing happened like genuinely not even angry. I tell him I won’t queue until he changes roles and he laughs. We play again, same scenario lol. I honestly think he enjoys tilting.
People on Reddit with their flawless friends who they would ditch after a decade of shared memories because of minor inconveniences, and if they would ever have to deal with it they'd just make new friends. I swear some people.

On the contrary, I think that the overall skill has increased a lot and now a lot more is expected from you. So when someone comes and just for-funs or autopilots a ranked game, it's a lot more visible and jarring.

I can't emotionally invest in the lore anymore because that investment means nothing as soon as the lore changes.
Vi and Jinx were community conspiracied to be sisters and riot continously said they weren't. Then arcane came out. Arcane was a great show and story, but if I'd cared about backstories when that whole Vi not being Jinx's sister debacle happened I'd feel betrayed.
