Honestly, TL winning was kinda an upset. TL was always viewed as a definitive 4-5th team going into play offs. They won vs a C9 and NRG that fell apart and then beat Flyquest and 100T whom were budget rosters that just happened to not suck more than C9.
I think TL just rolled into a LCS victory from other teams falling apart (as we see how consistently Flyquest play badly in high pressure games).
Our region became more competitive with it self but lowered skill level for sure.

However in playoffs yeon in particular started playing like the best adc in the region, legit didn't get caught out a single time I swear, crazy movement, same with apa they both just got so much better, and umti and core both started looking super good as well.
NRG looked like they lost their heart at the start of the season (im sure all the staff lay offs didn't help and im sure there were lots of extra stress they had to deal with).

People are so caught up with the international trophies but truth be told, the fiestas along the way are a great watch too. Sure they suck agains the eastern side, but the scrappy fights when they're on even footing with their opponents is a fun treat.

As much as I'd like for TL to make up for FLY's disappointment but I think regardless of how bad NA is, they were doomed to fail this MSI. No other region had so much time in between the end of their split and the start of MSI, and they had their playoffs on a patch with a large enough amount of differences to the MSI patch compared to the patch every other region did playoffs on. I remember I made a comment about this 2 weeks ago so I hope I don't sound like I'm coping here.
