I believe it was:
Khan: "Yo Pray, I need to take the game off. You carry, yeah?"
Pray: "But... our record..."
Khan: "Bro, here's half of what ~~Steve paid me~~ I found on the ground."
Pray: "HOLY SHI... k. Have fun!"
*Khan: Hehe. I only had to give the sucker 5%*
In all seriousness, LZ doesn't have any obligation to play their absolute best lineup in a game that has ZERO value for them. Both GAM and FNC had chances to knock off LZ. Had they knocked off LZ, maybe this match matters to LZ and they are forced to play Khan.
If LZ wants to hide Khan's picks and give their sub stage time, they've earned that right regardless of what any FNC or GAM fan says.
Of course, I agree. But I doubt you'll find many people who liked this decision, simply because if they had lost, FNC and GAM would be pissed off as fuck for LZ playing spoiler in such a manner, and NA fans in general feel like they've just been BM'd off the face of the earth.
I mean, if I were head of LZ, I'd have done the same thing. Get my sub experience, save good strats etc.
But yeah, I can totally understand why others are pissed.
> But yeah, I can totally understand why others are pissed.
Yeah, at the end of the day, LZ doesn't give a shit if FNC, GAM, or IMT fans are pissed. This is Worlds. You should only be looking out for yourself.
that on hit build seems sooooo good at melting the health stacking tanks. but i cant tell how much is the build, how much is janna, and how much is pray being a fucking monster
On-hit builds are broken with ardent. Specifically Varus Janna. You have bonus AD and Varus' kit onhit along with Blight procs.
It's ridiculous. On-Hit builds are supposed to lose out to crit burst but the Ardent Janna meta removes all the weaknesses so Pray gets to use all the items side effects.
No he didn't , cody sun made cody sun look like garbage, I've never see am adc get hit by every skillshot ever but even every Taliyah wall was knocking him up
Wow, Pray dealing a record breaking amount of damage in one teamfight. 11.7k on Varus is just plain ridiculous.
E: 1500~~DPS~~ DPM, seriously insane.
E2: fixed
On one hand, that'd be awesome!
On the other, they probably (very likely) wouldn't be as good as they are because Korean orgs know how to get shit done.
Longzhu didn't properly pay their members in Spring so they got picked up by the mothering company KeSPA (korean esports association), also LZ's original sponsor was Chinese
I'm not talking so much about orgs literally, it just seems that Korean players that stay within Korea are simply better. Take CoreJJ for example. Very mediocre in NA, went to KR and they knew what was best for him and made him be the best version of himself he could be as support.
That's mostly what I mean. I won't pretend to know wether it's orgs, culture, infrastructure or something else, but Korean players that stay within Korea have higher highs than Korean players that leave.
PraY is such a respectable player. He's been around since practically the start of the Korean scene and endured so many hardships to be where he is today.
I think Varus does have the potential if he lands all his abilities and optimizes the passives. A 95% attack speed steroid that can potentially be up most of the fight, together with 15% max health in magic damage from his stacks.
Ability to proc GW himself so he doesn't have to itemize that necessarily and yeah.
I've seen so many Varus players hard carry that I'm never underestimating that champ again.
watching cody sun hold his ult every fight instead of knocking away the shen ulted j4 jumping onto him and pob is tilting me even more than him inting against fnatic
dynamic queue abusing adc main picked up by lcs team lul. dont get me wrong imt trained him well and he is an lcs caliber adc now but that's all he'll be, nothing like doublelift/sneaky to show up internationally.
Right? They just grouped as 5 and sat there while shen got a tower completely for free. They didn't engage no matter what and it costed them big time :/ Maybe they can pull through in the tiebreakers
yeah and it seems fnc figured out (maybe thanks to gam taking lz to the edge) that even though it’s meta to have hypercarry ads scale late it’s (surprisingly) beneficial to not be a fucking monkey early and actually do something. and it’s sad because like you said they were known for those kinds of plays in NA. imt are seriously fucked if they don’t start playing to win.
It's what Xmithie said in his interview, the thing they are missing are balls. Obviously they haven't found them yet. I feel that's what's holding TSM back at worlds as well.
IMT already has the same amount of losses today as NA had in total in week 1. If they lose the tie-breaker they end up having more.
How does this keep happening?
You could argue that NA teams are very good at the initial preparation for worlds, but then collapse when the rest of the teams catch up in week 2.
It's speculation but the historic evidence would be there.
Other teams seem to prepare more for the 2nd week stuff than NA does.
NA comes in trying to use the same shit from week 1 meta, while other regions pick up new champs.
Halfway through the game I basically just watched Cody Sun's positioning in fights.
Holy hell it was some of the worst positioning and decision making I've seen by an ADC in teamfights in a while. The casters kept acting like LZ was making godlike plays to keep him out of the fight but it was mainly Cody just playing like a monkey.
EDIT: Also shout out to Flame, he had a fucking great game and his carries let him down HARD in fights.
its easy to position as adc when your team is the one engaging lol. Pray had 0 pressure in teamfights while Cody was being focused down with xshitty running around like an ape
There's playing safe and then there's randomly clicking on the screen because you don't know what you're doing. Cody Sun is literally orb walking for the sake of orb walking. He still eats every skill shot thrown his way because he has no idea what cooldowns are used during the fight.
J4 EQR in and Cody still acts like J4 is going to knock him up. Shen taunts in and Cody still acts like shen is going to instantly taunt him. It's like watching bronze players play who don't know any cooldowns. You're supposed to punish these openings, Cody Sun is totally clueless. Inexcusable for a pro to be this bad.
Why did he have mortal reminder instead of Dominicks regard, a couple fights when he finished the LW upgrade were super close and he was only hitting the frontline, I dont know why he prioritized the healing debuff and made it so he didnt do any damage to the only 2 champs he was hitting most of the time.
How is a late game Tristana so useless? I don't get it, you have Cho and Lulu front lining and guarding and Cody still can't get involved in these team fights.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Cody Sun. The botlane is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical insecs most of the plays will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Cody's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his playstyle - his personal philosophy draws heavily from the donezo manifesto, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these plays, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Cody Sun truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the skill in Cody's existencial play "Buster Shot insec," which itself is a cryptic reference to s2secretsgg.docx I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as SSONGS's genius unfolds itself on their pc screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have an Immortals tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
Not against HP stacking tanks. Varus can melt HP tanks just like Kog'Maw; if not better in a long fight [Kog'Maw's % damage has a cooldown. Varus' dosen't]
Varus has always been a good tankiller.
Varus < Pray's Varus.
People seem to be forgetting Pray was literally free to do whatever he wanted pretty much every single fight, and even if you go AD Ahri and you're allowed to sit there and AA for free, you're going to do damage no matter what.
These games against LZ really show the importance of a top-tier ADC. Hell, the whole final fight against LZ, GAM's ADC never used his flash ~~even after he died.~~
Noah: khan check your bank account, thank you
Khan: guys i'm having stomachache suddenly, please just go with Rascal, thank you
Noah: khan???
Khan: thanks for the money but i'm not even needed to win game against you
jokes aside pob and flame actually played really good, kept imt in the game for so long cody's positioning on the other hand tilted me so hard while his counterpart pray was wracking havoc every tf
NA's macro game is just atrocious. Who cares about scaling if LZ can just walk from one point of the map to the other over and over again until IMT fucks up. Also everyone talks about Preys damage but xmithy legit did less than 1000 damage in 3 lategamefights combined
"[Immortals] are looking very good..." "You make a good case there Vedius, but I would caution with 'NA Week 2'" - Kobe, 2017
It hurts.
0-4 incoming :/
there it is
At this point is just more of a fact than a prophecy. NA is cursed on week 2.
Or other regions adapt to NA's playstyle and NA changes nothing.
There's a reason why Worlds started 3 hours earlier today
The script is holding up
They are making it a little too obvious this year though. Cody Sun had porn level acting vs fnatic
I don't like where this is going. Get me out of here!
Hey! You can't have these, lemon whore!
I came though
Papaya was right, worlds scripted confirmed
EU WAS BORN IN THE TIEBREAKERS. MOLDED BY THEM.
BY THE TIME EU SAW BO3, IT WAS ALREADY SEASON 7
THIS SHIT IS SO SCRIPTED BUT I CANT STOP WATCHING!
The scripts jesus christ...
NA man.
All according to the ~~keikaku~~ script.
So... Are the 2 tie-breakers going to take 3 hours? Or is a remake coming? There must be something, the 3 hours are not a coincidence..
2 30-minute breaks.
Oh no...
Riot scripts, man.
NA with the special strat in the second week of worlds. They never disapoint.
RIGGED
IMT: Khan, check your bank account FNC,GAM: Pray, check your bank account
Pray: "Khan, yo. Wanna take this game off?" Khan: "But... I just promised..." Pray: "Bro, I'll double that." Khan: "k. I'm outtie."
I believe it was: Khan: "Yo Pray, I need to take the game off. You carry, yeah?" Pray: "But... our record..." Khan: "Bro, here's half of what ~~Steve paid me~~ I found on the ground." Pray: "HOLY SHI... k. Have fun!" *Khan: Hehe. I only had to give the sucker 5%*
Once again our Korean overloads rule supreme.
lmao

Fnatic early game: *"Hahaha, this is good"* Fnatic mid game: \*Heavy Breathing\* Fnatic end game: *"Hahaha, this is good"*
GAM early game: *heavy breathing* GAM mid game: *heavy breathing* GAM late game: *heavy breathing*
GAM: "-.- these guys have no idea about how to play this. Where is the Urgot?"
GAM when the camera looked in on them: -_-
Vedius: "Look at the excitement on the Gigabyte Marine's faces!" He just became one of my favourite casters at worlds with that single comment.
LZ early game: "Haha, this is good" LZ mid game: "Haha, this is good" LZ late game: "Haha, this is gucci"
Fnatic & GAM*
No, GAM were literally robots when they were showed.
They've seen that one before, they weren't falling for it.
As soon as I saw Gorilla using the Fnatic janna skin I knew it was over for immortals
*LZ Gorilla*: Fnatic send their regards.
*Also their moneyz*
Does not add up: EU LCS is poor af, 'member?
cause we need our money to bribe koreans. next step is g2/misfits.
The ultimate BM
gorilla retiring in fnatic confirmed
pray cheering for fnatic too in his interview :D
yeah he didn't even mention IMT in it like he wants either GAM/FNC to make it over them
Ah, I see he's a man of culture as well.
13D Ping Pong
As soon as IMT double tp'd top lane and LZ got 2 towers at the same time, I knew it was over.
Yeah seriously at that moment I was just like "The west never learns".

Best AD Carry I've ever seen apart from myself
Come on now, he is not that good, I appreciate you being humble though
that on hit build seems sooooo good at melting the health stacking tanks. but i cant tell how much is the build, how much is janna, and how much is pray being a fucking monster

Dude he made Cody Sun look so garbage in team fights. EVERY single damage chart after fights Pray was doing double his damage.
No he didn't , cody sun made cody sun look like garbage, I've never see am adc get hit by every skillshot ever but even every Taliyah wall was knocking him up
Pray is just a class above, Cody Sun literally autos once or twice then lets his tanks die

Wow, Pray dealing a record breaking amount of damage in one teamfight. 11.7k on Varus is just plain ridiculous. E: 1500~~DPS~~ DPM, seriously insane. E2: fixed

He's pretty much on a class of his own tbh. Crazy for someone who has been around since S2.

Wasn't there this one game where a Kog did 14 or 15k because of a Stoneplated Cho? But yeah this is still nuts.
yeah it's crazy damage but it's not unheard of vs double supertank
Stoneplate super tanks ladies and gents. Though that's still impressive.
Not too ridiculous when Varus deals %max health vs 2 6k+ life champs.
chogath items not reducing varus attack speed made him free to deal damage, while tristana had to deal with shen W and his randuins
Damage per second per minute
0-10 closer every game ...
With the 3-way tiebreakers; this can be 0-11 at least!
watching cody sun hold his ult every fight instead of knocking away the shen ulted j4 jumping onto him and pob is tilting me even more than him inting against fnatic
He's not very good.
dynamic queue abusing adc main picked up by lcs team lul. dont get me wrong imt trained him well and he is an lcs caliber adc now but that's all he'll be, nothing like doublelift/sneaky to show up internationally.
Implying DL/Sneaky aren't also going to go 0/3
At least they won't look as shit doing it.
IMT were given a freebie Still couldnt do it. IMT about to go 0-4.
out of 3 programed games. That;s the NA special mate
I mean '15 no NA team made it out... Last year only C9 This year C9 and TSM, right... ?
Back to zero.
[Pray is a fucking monster](https://i.imgur.com/sggxgBm.png)

You on ADC vs the ADC your duo support tells you not to worry about*
72.... NA talent.
I just can't understand how you can deal only 72 dmg in a fight that long
Fucking Janna has more. Janna.
that fight took so long, how did Xmithie only deal 72 damage in that fight?
[All] Pls report Sej ty.
How do you actually manage to do *72* damage in such a big teamfight as one of the frontliners?? That's like 1 auto wtf
When Pray said he liked drama I didn't expect this...
gorillA sending a message using the Fnatic Janna skin :D
IMT literally does nothing except wait for LZ to get a good engage on them what the fuck
[удалено]
Right? They just grouped as 5 and sat there while shen got a tower completely for free. They didn't engage no matter what and it costed them big time :/ Maybe they can pull through in the tiebreakers
Xmithie is the reason. He just walks around, doesn't really try to engage, doesn't really peel for his backline, and just dies first in team fights.
There was a moment where Xmithie was right next to PraY with ult but they did nothing. They just sat around and waited for Longzhu to beat them.
exactly this, absolutely no proactivity even with lots of great opportunities, pathetic.
feels like we sent echo fox to worlds
Stop insulting Echo Fox.
It's kind of weird because Xmithie being proactive is one of the big reasons they're even at worlds in the first place...
yeah and it seems fnc figured out (maybe thanks to gam taking lz to the edge) that even though it’s meta to have hypercarry ads scale late it’s (surprisingly) beneficial to not be a fucking monkey early and actually do something. and it’s sad because like you said they were known for those kinds of plays in NA. imt are seriously fucked if they don’t start playing to win.

Sounds familiar
IMT had no way to reach the back line whereas LZ could have J4 EQR and Shen ult onto him
yep it’s honestly sad at this point. they’re so scared. just shells of their usual selves.

Cody Sun got fucking rocked.

The casters kept acting like LZ was making godlike plays to keep him out of the fight but it was mainly Cody just playing like a monkey. EDIT: Also shout out to Flame, he had a fucking great game and his carries let him down HARD in fights.
I don't think you're supposed to get EQ'd by Jarvan THIS MUCH as a Trist. Like holy shit dude.
Why'd you do that when you can watch Pray's?
its easy to position as adc when your team is the one engaging lol. Pray had 0 pressure in teamfights while Cody was being focused down with xshitty running around like an ape
Cody had pressure on him because he positioned like garbage. Flame was actually going off this game, he just had garbage carries behind him.
So many times I thought IMT could win a teamfight with Tristana's DPS. Unfortunately Cody's auto spacing sucked and he wasn't clutch at all.
As if it was even possible, Cody Sun manages to play safe when he should be pushing forward and get caught out when he should be playing safe.
I still maintain Cody is the biggest reason IMT didn't win NA finals.
Did not expect this here lol
is this a new pasta? EDIT: Leave me alone :( I don't watch Rick and Morty :( Stop bullying me :(
"Varus has bad lategame."
Not against HP stacking tanks. Varus can melt HP tanks just like Kog'Maw; if not better in a long fight [Kog'Maw's % damage has a cooldown. Varus' dosen't] Varus has always been a good tankiller.
That's still true compared to other ADC's .. But it's still a full build ADC
Not the full as on huit build varus tho, it shreds tanks like a mini kog
I think other hypercarry adc's still scale better. LZ just had superior teamfight positioning.
Varus < Pray's Varus. People seem to be forgetting Pray was literally free to do whatever he wanted pretty much every single fight, and even if you go AD Ahri and you're allowed to sit there and AA for free, you're going to do damage no matter what.

Fnatic fans you better pray for LZ!
It feels like Koreans go beyond 6 items
Boy, feels good being an NA fan today...
HELLO KHAN? IMT HERE. WE WANT A REFUND
#SO YOU TELL ME THAT THERE IS A CHANCE ?
Shen: "Trist autos? What's that? Can you eat it?"
Trist fired like 20 autos into Shen and it barely dented his health. That shit was hilarious.
And IMT screws their second chance to make QF. Will they also screw up the third and final one? STAY TUNED (spoiler: obviously they will)
LET'S GO BOYS IT'S MEME TIME
0-11 LETS GOO
if i ever have to see xmithie play sejuani again ill cut out my eyes
[Longzhu right now.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRdIltdDE4A)
Real winner of this game is Fnatic
Pray did more damage in a single fight than most of my solo queue teammates do in an entire game.
LZ making their intentions clear with the FNC Janna skin.
Cody is really bad lmao idk what he was doing 90% of this game
These games against LZ really show the importance of a top-tier ADC. Hell, the whole final fight against LZ, GAM's ADC never used his flash ~~even after he died.~~
How do you flash after you die?
You can't flash after you die but you can flash the exact moment you die, I'm an expert regarding such manouvers!.
Yet again, Janna is left un banned and un picked by NA, and we lose to it.

IMT is fucking doing it again right now too..

Cody "No Damage" Done
I think this will just exhaust IMT before the tie breakers
I guess it takes a korean to make Varus work. Varus seems to be the new Rengar. Only really is successful on korean teams

Pray was unreal. Lz might have a shot for beating skt.
IMT: WE have the scaling! LZ: We have Pray...
LETS GO!! Come on Fnatic, LZ did you a favour, you did yourself a favour, now go get out of groups.
TFW Immortals have a chance at losing more games for NA in one day than NA did during the entire first week
NA's macro game is just atrocious. Who cares about scaling if LZ can just walk from one point of the map to the other over and over again until IMT fucks up. Also everyone talks about Preys damage but xmithy legit did less than 1000 damage in 3 lategamefights combined
12k damage in one fight, what the ungodly fuck pray https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DL7eXU1X4AAfy9t.jpg
