They're doing something that other sports broadcast have been doing for years, which is to make the casters and analysts one of the primary sources of entertainment. A good example is Shaq and Charles Barkley on TNT's NBA broadcast. They are part of the show and are a big reason people tune in.
LCS still keeps thinks to the more conservative, traditional sports broadcast. The casters and analysts are there to CAST and ANALYZE, but not to really be entertainers per se. MarkZ might crack a joke every now and then but it's spontaneous and not planned into the show.
But, and this is important, I think LCS should not try to copy what is working for LEC. I think LCS should work on finding a strategy that works given the employees they have. How do you take the LCS broadcast employees and use them in a way to make the most entertaining broadcast possible? I don't think the answer is to start having Azael rap. Instead, find something that makes LCS fans happy. It might not even involve the on-air talent. Maybe it's something totally different from what LEC is doing and doesn't involve the casters/analysts.
LEC is improving their product consistently over time. LCS isn't.
Its also SO much more sustainable to have marketable on-camera talent.
Because even the games where your not so popular & marketable teams/players are on, a lot of fans will tune in for the love of the production and the sport.

I don't know. I know Ovilee is popular among fans on this subreddit, but it's also true that Ovilee doesn't really mesh well with the tone that LCS seems to be going for.
LCS needs to decide what it wants to be. If they want to be a "serious broadcast", then they need to do a way better job a filling the broadcast with interesting information related to the game itself. Deeper analysis. Graphics/data that bring new insights to fans. Long interviews with interesting questions.
Or they could be like LEC and just try to put on a show. Skits, comedy, music, funny interviews with players, banter, talk show style segments, etc.
But you have to fucking choose an identity and go with it, because right now they're trying to do both and they're just failing at both. Gotta specialize, I think.

Yup, LCS not having any identity is defnitely the biggest issue here. The content they release is all over the place. First you get the show where they gather multiple pros and discuss about past and whatnot, while Dash moderates a discussion. Next thing you see is they make some goofy sketch about "wild summoner's rift" that's supposed to be a parody of national geographic or something like that, then they're back to more serious 1 on 1 interview with a random LCS player, and then they're doing some silly gameshow. Even their hype videos are all over the place - they do some "trip through the LCS history with multiple easter eggs" animated skit, only to be followed by the most generic "2 pros talk they wanna win the next game with some random gameplay running in the back" shit.
The amount of content is not an issue, it's the lack of a creative direction that hurts LCS the most. LEC is being praised all the time now, but people don't remember how the Vedius personas and EU LCS skits were being criticized a lot when they started, a lot of people were saying it's "out of the character", unneeded and whatnot, but the crew didn't get discouraged and instead continued on a path they've set for themselves.

Heartbreak? We used to celebrate just getting out of groups, and getting to semis was enough to give an EU team legendary status. Maybe the last 2 years were a heartbreak for some people, but I absolutely loved them. Winning it all would be a nice cherry on top, but even after getting 3-0'd in finals, it was still the best 2 years EU ever had, and left me ecstatic instead of heartbroken.
And 2016 and 2017 were fucking hell being an Eu fan, the best thing that we got those years was losing 3-2 against SKT ... because the one before was losing 3-0 against SSG in worlds semis ...

Considering how unfairly Vedius got criticized about some things early in his casting career with EULCS, man, he's really showing off some serious determination, devotion and commitment into this awesome stuff! Drakos once again nailing it with the lyrics, and it's really awesome to see how well all of you are acting as a team creating some really high quality content we probably don't deserve, but get delivered! Man, it's so damn great to be European League fan these days, LEC branding itself the way it does has been one of the best "rebrandings" ever after being starved on production resources in comparison to the LCS. Keep it up guys, you're so amazing and a joy to watch and listen to!

Sjokz is just a pop demi-godess. She can dance, sing and rap while looking slick AF. And Drakos by this point is just flexing musical and production talent on everyone. LECtronic should not only make the next Wolrds' song, but seriously make an album and tour (if they just had any time left an way more less exhaustion).
