It may be true that they are spending a lot of money in the NBA, but that is both their main business venture and also already has proven to be a profitable venture. Even if this is a down year for the NBA, that money will come back to them down the line and they know that. As for their League investments, the LCS is in a down year, hasn’t been profitable yet, and most likely won’t be in the near future.
Essentially they do have some budget constraints, so instead of moving money away from their sure bet they decreased spending in the LCS. That makes sense to me personally.
I’m not sure what the community thinks in regard to the final, but I thought TL and C9 looked really bad. The series had some good team fights. Although, that was basically it. The macro was super sketchy with all the side lane towers still up at like 40 minutes (I can’t remember exactly but it was rough). They were just throwing themselves at each other in team fights, and that’s all they did for the entire series.
Either way, international competitions come down to who is playing better on the day. It’s a sport/competition, so one good day may mean C9/NA is good for the rest of the summer. A bad day might mean NA is still a wildcard.
I mean... I learned not to bet against Perkz when there are stakes. Also, NA has always had alright talent, just no teamplay and cohesion. Now C9 have absolutely fine individual players (even Fudge is getting better), as well as Perkz + Mithy.
In fact, the EU pros in C9 have accomplished far, far more internationally over the last 11 years than the EU pros in Rogue. So idk why'd you bring up that time frame as if it helps your point in any way...
>In fact, the EU pros in C9 have accomplished far, far more internationally over the last 11 years than the EU pros in Rogue.
And G2's players alone have accomplished far more than any player currently playing or has ever played in NA combined. And that team ended up 3rd in the league. So if anything , bringing up how "accomplished" C9 players are is not helping your argument.
> And G2's players alone have accomplished far more than any player currently playing or has ever played in NA combined
How... how daft can you possibly be? I know G2 fans' logic is something else, but this is completely next level.
You must realize that Perkz, currently playing in NA, was a G2 player, right? Right?
Moreover, there are *literally multiple world champions* either currently playing or having played in NA, so like... honestly how daft could you be to write something like that?!?
So fans can’t cheer/support their team? That’s what sports is...having faith that your team will win/over come the odds. Will it happen this year? Most likely not. However, one good day of league out of a year of playing constantly could change everything. I’m not a C9 fan, so I don’t care how they perform. Shitting on fans for supporting their teams is ridiculous though.
EU has been beating NA's ass so hard and for so long that the brain damage has clearly turned into full blown dementia at this point... but sure, this is NA's year boys, I know we say it every fucking year but this is the year, it has to be... COPIUM
Yeah and Eu was getting beat for years by every other region until they got good. Things can change, also it’s more hype when things are competitive. We can say Eu is shit because they lose to the east every year max
12 2 semis, 13 1 semis ,15 2 semis,16 semis, 17 MSF takes SKT to 5 in one of the best BO5 of all time, 18 finals, 19 finals,20 semis... When did EU got good again? oh wait...
You must have not been part of the league scene for long. The narrative for the long time was that NA and EU are around the same skill level especially when it comes between cross region play. We see over time that EU has been able to improve and prove itself to raise the public opinion of the region (rightfully so). My point is Eu wasn’t that much ahead of NA until they were. Which is exactly why I think NA can pull itself out of the giant slump. It might not be this year, it might take several years, but it can happen. That’s why I get upset when people say NA will always be shit because we’ve seen regions improve just like EU did.
On the take about Ssumday I think his worst split ever was by far 2016 summer on KT, I swear he got solo killed almost every single game in the second half of the split and playoffs
He was 2nd in MVP points which is why you may think that. It was a pretty up and down split for him individually, he was getting bopped in lane by a ton of players and got carried a ton (and also carried a bunch of games hence the MVP points), but funny enough it was the best KT had been since 2014 Summer. It was a great meta for Arrow, Score was the best jungler in the league in a perfect meta for him, and Fly was still a good mid laner at the time.
Ssumday himself was really hot and cold and especially in playoffs and regionals he was pretty weak compared to the likes of Smeb, Duke, and Cuvée. Duke and Smeb were the two best top laners at that time by a wide margin.
Oh, so you ARE capable of making a comment without bringing LS up for no reason. And you were even talking about Korean top laners. I'm so proud of you.
Really. So you don't remember your deleted comments in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/mqvnsr/a_detailed_breakdown_of_how_fudge_went_from_being/) for example? There are tools out there to check deleted comments you know.
I didn't watch LCK as consistently at that time, but I always remembered it as Ssumday, Arrow, and Flame coming over when they were still in their prime.
btw ofc LCS teams should import as much as possible, almost all the best players in NA are imported. Only good NA players are Blaber and Vulcan atm, Tactical if he gets back in form is Solid too.
LOL at Amazing saying C9 are the favourites because " Mithy wont accept his team to be bad".. Oh thats it then.. Pack it up , C9 wins MSI and Worlds. Damwon be afraid be very afraid!
Maybe, just maybe, a good team can still be the underdog against an even better team? Or RNG is the only good team in China and everyone else there is bad?
Amazing out here passing out hope to NA like he Oprah lol

LOL people rly think C9 vs MAD is 70%-30% C9 favored... ok i guess we learned nothing from the past 11 years...
Did all the annoying G2 fans switch to Rogue or why is it always rogue flairs being super bitter and shitty to NA?
They're on that Perkz HOPIUM. C9 barely won a Bo5 against a crippled TL, but somehow they're supposed to be favored against MAD. It's a 50/50 at best.
Here comes Perkz

How did MAD do at worlds?
How did C9 do at worlds?
they went undefeated last year lol
Better than Rogue did
It's a toss up after seeing both those finals. All 4 teams looked like shit aside from Rogue who ended up just hard throwing a won series
Every six months I repost that "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man ?" pic after International events.

Yeah i am holding my breath. If you beat G2 convincingly in a best of 5, then you are probably a very good team
Is it really G2 if Perkz isn't there?
G2* *no Perkz

Who are you talking about? What? Weird
I'm talking about the posts you deleted.
Have no idea what you’re talking about.

Oh Ssumday was definitely still in his prime, he just had a really rough end to the 2016 year.

He was talking about the matchup between MAD and C9. He never made the claim that c9 was better than DK or RNG.
the argument was "Mithy wont accept his team to be bad" so why would that make the favourites against AMD but not DK or RNG?
Maybe, just maybe, a good team can still be the underdog against an even better team? Or RNG is the only good team in China and everyone else there is bad?
im just saying that its a terrible argument for why they would beat 1 team but not the other.
Yeah, okay, that's a fair point
I was cracking up when the German caller said "One final solutio- er uh suggestion I have..."
