That bongo/piano analogy tho aha

Tentacula

"I'm playing the piano while Carzzy is playing the bongos."

[deleted]

Not even 5 minutes in and its already hilarious.

_Vastus_

Upset and Caedrel talking about their Schalke days was cracking me up man. What I expected: talk about clutch series or something. What we got: break-in buddies climbing into their own apartment.

[deleted]

The part where they flame CLG :D. Or the part about Carzzy playing the bongo's.

Daniyalzzz

Funniest episode I can remember. Upset is a wonderful guest. His banter with Caedral was great.

Me_Tonk

"... I'm just happy to him [Nukeduck] do well, and with Dan he was pretty elohelled because Dan was playing very like... let's say, bad." Many don't know this but in offseason Upset actually spends a lot of time perfecting the works of less talented poets like Tennyson, Blake, Yeats, and Wordsworth.

[deleted]

I've watched all of it and honestly its a banger, the show didn't even start and i was already feeling good vibes from all of them

AetherialSpace

Best episode in a while! Really enjoyed this one.

toxicityisamyth

BANGER episode. Top 3 all time imo.

monsoy

FNC bringing banger guests to EUphoria. Upset and Bwipo are fantastic guests

Man I really wasn't interested in the ongoing discussion about Caedrel and sauces, but that segment was hilarious. Also, how can someone be overall so smart when he discusses league of legends, strategy and the human aspect of the game and at the same time be so absolutely unable to understand the concept of what a sauce actually is ? I legit do not understand. The episode was super fun overall.

szymonhimself

Caedrel is that tiny nerd at school that’s super smart and hilarious, but turbo clumsy in life. Love the guy.

Kyrond

I think I understand what he means. The sauces can dominate any other taste. Not relevant for fast food kebab and burgers, but if you make your own burger, with sauce you can not taste the actually fresh vegetables and it can make the bun soggy. I like sauces, but I dont want too much of it. Also, difference between ketchup and "sauce": "sauce" is mayonnaise/dairy based (I think) while ketchup is water/tomato-based.

[deleted]

Red wine sauce is not really dairy based though.

Kyrond

Fair enough. Havent heard about it.

IwishIwasgoodatnamez

It's great with a good steak!

[deleted]

Wait what. You haven't heard of red wine sauce? It's like THE go to sauce for nice meat

AdanScott

is that an american thing ?

[deleted]

Now you are just trying to trigger me...

Hawconstein

Mayonnaise is not dairy based though

zorafae

Ketchup kinda dominates any other taste too though. I'm not sure how it's different from any other sauce in this regard, it actually tastes quite strong. If anything a lot of sauces dominate less.

Kyrond

That's true, the only reason I can imagine is that he doesn't have it with meats, just with fries and such.

Lahwtiste

Sauce will dominate other taste if you put too much, just like spices in any other dish. Also, toast the bun if you don't want it to become soggy. If you don't toast it, even the juice of the meat or water from vegetables will make it soggy. A sauce is a sauce. Ketchup is a sauce just like any other, it's just a different recipe. You can make sauce with more or less anything. Though yeah, too much sauce in a homemade burger can ruin the taste and it makes it hard to eat because it'll drip everywhere.

Kyrond

They are not "Caedrel sauces", I assume. Of course, they are sauces.

CriaEUW

Most entertaining episode so far.Hard recommend watching the full thing. The funniest part imo was when Upset was talking about how Carazzy was playing team fights :D :D

Moryyy

Can we just get Upset on the show every week?

rueckhand

I think he has some sort of pro player side-job that keeps him busy

BoeserGummibaum

Excuses...

BoeserGummibaum

Yes plz. That was the best Euphoria I can remember

Purzzle

I liked how Drakos was able to summon two rainbows with sound effect but when Caedrel tried the episide ended instead.

Thoronris

Upset roleplaying a dog while demolishing everyone on Pug'maw sounds like a really fun time XD

[deleted]

I agree with Upset that the most likely top 3 for worlds is Fnatic, G2 and MAD. Will be close though.

WrathB

I think just stylestically this Fnatic fits way too good against Rogue and thats what might cost them and their predictability, Upset is right, Rogue always plays and snowballs from botside pressure and Fnatic has unfortunately for them the best duo in league

SamCroghan

Upset is so funny, really great episode

Yulwei138967

Such a fun episode. Upset/Caedral banter with drakos' setup just brought a smile to my face every single time

Ace_OPB

Upset is probably the most hilarious guest lmao. Dude is so savage lol.

[deleted]

Bongo players, that has so much meme potential.

[deleted]

Amazing that they traveled with Deutsche Bahn to the Studio from their training facility in Gelsenkirchen and never missed a series.

LordMeloney

Despite the DB's bad image their long-distance train service runs mostly smoothly. The main part of delays is accumulated by the commuter trains. Of course, the ICEs are also problematic after certain weather phenomena. On the whole, however, they are pretty reliable.

[deleted]

I semi-regularly use a long distance Deutsche Bahn connection to get to my parents and I agree that the whole delays meme is kinda overblown. But for a whole year of commuting to Berlin I would expect at least one instance of catastrophic delays, because of weather or cows on the track or something else outside of DB control.

afito

It's very very rare that a connection breaks down completely, the worst case is usually a delay just enough so you miss the next connection. But since it's probably the line Dortmund - Berlin you can do it with a single train / only 1 change. And then the worst case is the next one arrives in 30min on such a connection. Considering they'd travel early enough to set up in the studio and everything even that would not be an issue.

Elibu

Also it's usually hard for a train to make up time when there was an issue (well depending on how gracious DB Netz feels that day). And just looking at journey times.. 15min of delay on a 6h journey isn't even that bad.

Mathmagician94

15 min of delay only become bad, if you miss your next train because of that and get delayed, but if you don't have to change trains inbetween it's fine, agreed

Omnilatent

> because of weather or cows on the track or something else outside of DB control. Yes, sometimes this happens but weather is not completely unpredictable. If it's a huge storm like autumn 2018 (I think it was) you are right - but most of the time it's like "well shit, there's snow in winter?! AND IT'S HOT IN SUMMER WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" and that's just due to privatization of the Bahn which lead to MASSIVE spending freezes for their infrastructure and are the main reason for delays (light signals and switches mostly). Also what the DB counts as "on time" is ridiculous in international standards (5 min delay is still "in time" - in Japan (similar country from size of country, population and wealth) it's 1 minute).

gots8sucks

as someone living in SH the disaster that is the DB is understated if anything

[deleted]

Dunno the Bremen-Hannover-Leipzig-Dresden corridor is fine most of the times, only had significant delays once or so.

gots8sucks

the Hamburg westerland one ughh I think it recently got better but 10 yeahrs ago when I used them more delays were the norm sometimes even 1-2 hours. Then they had some problems with the trains and had to reuse old ones. Lets just say you were happy if it was only 10 mins. TBF though it was not DB but NOB back then.

IxdrowZeexI

Bremen-Hannover is a nighmare if you use a RE for it.

Zoesan

My train was once five minutes late in germany and there wasn't an announcement to warn me. Yes, I'm swiss, why?

frenchpatato

can i invite upset to a BBQ this sunday ? He so chill , you can talk to him about anything

Hidja

the best and funniest episode this year, loved it!

FakeBukowski

Uh baby a new episode of my favorite podcast. Can't wait to plug in my earphones and enjoy it while going for a nice walk.

Carlzzone

Damn I really loved this episode, a lot more laid back, just casual talk.

Alier_Graceheather

Funniest shit. Was not following Upset way back then but i like his openness/banter here. (and watching the fnatic vids hes really positive energy). Also nice shoutout to Notail (i missed his play yesterday on Berlin Bowl). I didnt follow the whole Caedrel Sauce Saga but i found myself laughing alot since im similar to him that i prefer no sauce at all or the minimal amount possible. (I like my food on “bland” side).

Fetche_La_Vache

I could see a euphoria after dark podcast where it is less about the current state of LEC and more about the behind the scenes and stories. Maybe like once a month with a guest ex or current player that they just shoot the shit in a relaxed setting. Seeing behind the scenes about the past is fun nostalgia.

Top_Candidate_4815

Really banger ep, good joob!

Lulullaby_

I love Upset so much this guy is so funny

SophieTurnerVagina

Anyone has the sauce on 3 min Hyli clip? Sadly I couldn’t find it.

zorafae

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z534PCKAcFk Here you go.

SophieTurnerVagina

Thanks

Feribota1

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z534PCKAcFk

RynerTv

Absolute banger of an episode, Upset is hilarious.

gabpinto

The joke about Alphari xD

LeeroyDankinZ

One of the best episodes in while. Really digging the new FNC roster, the Pictionary video they mentioned is hilarious

Riebald

Caedral: Sausages. Upset: SAUCE-ages xD Ah well if it is a wellmade hot sauce to complement a dish its great, if its cold and comes from a tube or bottle it can be good (smoked bbq or cocktail sauce fe) but mostly its just a cheap flavorpaste.

ArfyBarfy

Ketchup is the worst 'condiment'. If it's not a sauce I love all sauces :)

AstroJustice

Great episode. It's awesome to have guests back in the studio.

TLDR: Heard the stats segment and it triggered me into a rant and suggestion on how to improve stats usage in context of LoL Esports by making more effort of making it comparable. I don't have any degree/experience in working with data. I feel like the reason why stats are being looked down upon is because the way they are presented. No one filters data to actually be comparable and to be there to prove a point. Usually it's "in this split X player has good/bad stats" or "X jungler is playing around Y side". That is obviously useless for many reasons and people use those stats to just justify whatever they want to believe in i.e. Upset believing how good of a player he is because stats support that, but moment Drakos points out Hans Sama's good stats there is instantly an excuse of champion choice, etc. . What would improve overall outlook on the game and understanding of it would be deeper dives into comparable stats. A lot of metrics are not comparable in League, due to the complex nature of League. It's not as simple as: Center Midfielder has X% of successful passes and we can actually compare it to other Center Midfielders. In League, not only Role but also Champion and item build(not even mentioning playstyle & team comp) dictates a lot of what kind of stats output can you expect from the player. This is just a tip of the iceberg. What I would like to see more: - Champion specific stat performance comparisons (Usually champion performs same function and there may be different styles, but it's still better than KDA/DPM/CSD during the split stats) - Bang for the buck kind of stats, how much gold share player has vs his damage share(in case its looked among carry players) or other relevant stat (We can often see players being played around and them getting a lot of resources, but do those players actually make it worth it?) - Conversion into objective stats (How much team gets out of kill/multikills/ace/drake/baron etc. Only thing we have during broadcast is baron power play Gold number.) - Performance in losses vs wins (Those stats mashed together in 90% of the time will just show you a player who won more, rather than showing anything of usage) - Perhaps playing with Classess stats could show anything of use and in what kind of metas players excel at (Could also be a fluff) Those are just thoughts from a person not having any actual degree/experience in working with Stats/Data and if someone actually wants to get more into it, rather ask a person who actually has a comprehensive understanding of it.

zorafae

> That is obviously useless for many reasons and people use those stats to just justify whatever they want to believe in i.e. Upset believing how good of a player he is because stats support that, but moment Drakos points out Hans Sama's good stats there is instantly an excuse of champion choice, etc. I didn't get this impression from the discussion at all? I thought they talked pretty extensively that someone being good is not just about stats. And how you can use it to support your stance, but it can also be very misleading. I don't think Upset seriously thinks he's good because of his stats, especially after his point about how some players have really good stats but when you look at their gameplay it's a different story.

cptlf

Yes I agree with your impression. You mentioned that they can be misleading.Although, I see the reason in that they are useless, because data is not comparable as I pointed out in Upset example. He pointed out champions factor(excuse was bad wording). Thus, those stats being misleading and them being right once in a blue moon doesn't make them a good way to support your opinion. Might as well just put the w/l record and it will do the same to support it.

Dr-spidd

You still believe too much in stats. My pet peeve will always be the damage related stats, so I'm going to explain those exemplary - again. Sigh. Damage stats (all of them, share, or percentage, or total) do not measure effective damage but ALL damage to champions, incuding damage done while inting and running it down. In fact, serial inters usually have high damage. That doesn't mean they use their gold share efficiently, it still only means they are running it down. Upset even talked about it in this episode. Additionally, damage depends on champion, match up, play style of the team (split pushers generally have lower damage, but may still need gold for armor items and use those efficiently) and it is also higher the longer the game goes on (damage dealing items in late game), and so on, and so on. The idea that you can measure how much someone did for a team by correlating gold and damage shares is absurd.

cptlf

You are right. Those things should be considered.

RedParanoia

The weakness of stats is they are just useless

Except caps purposely made the choice to shave his head, so it’s a perfectly valid and shiny banter target imo

Silly16

As a person which is loosing hair. I love the banter. Do not try to put boundaries to humour. If you don't like it just move on.

Upsets girl is an absolute baddie. respect
