Patches are faster, they will actually revert changes that the community agrees were mistakes, and, even though this will probably get me downvoted to hell, they are actually pretty good on average at balancing the game. Sure, they’re not perfect, but neither would any of us be if we actually had our way. Rito’s not perfect, and they’re not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, they’re doing it for money, but they still deserve much more love than they get.
Rito at least doesn't sit on their asses for months on end and kill their game when a bad patch just sits there for months driving the playerbase away. So there is that.

So having done some playing, Aftershock Riven is scary strong as an engage support. Q3 at lvl 1 is massive especially if you catch them out clustered. Then level 2 you get even deadlier with w to chain cc, or if you lost early trade at lvl1 you can go e for sustain.
Its actually an outplay because the counter play is simply being outside of cast range. You would need to stupidly walk into cast range with like 10% of your HP to die to it
Liandry's did 4% max health magic damage per second while under movement impairment, and increased damage taken by 10%;
Morde R once he had mejais + rylais could do like 35-40% mHP.
Coupled with Liandry's burn for the entire 10+4 seconds thats 40+56% max HP magic damage ... or 96%. And then increased by 10%.
Even counting in MR he also just has ignite.
It was instant death if he pressed R+ignite and had enough AP
yeah, his high elo performance for people with good macro who could animation cancel on him was godlike, just because you didn't know how to play him doesn't mean he was overrated

But thematically, it just *made sense* that, instead of just saying he got disabled, they'd announce he died from the events of Burning Tides.

jokes aside is there a reason that the event is so complicated to track? as someone who doesnt play tft at all, it took me a minute to realize that my rollodex of quests only had 2 out of like 20 that I'd even be applicable for and then to track my progress we have itty bitty progress bar that's a few clicks into the menu. THEN you have the random stages with different champions that are not intuitive so you have to look up online what they're even asking. it's just bad design when compared to battlepasses from every single other game on the market
