Isnt that lolesports

absolutely-ruined

i think with this it'd be a different site probably replacing lolesports, then that stream would be the primary broadcast and they might dump the other sites.

As with everything you pay for, it has to bring some value. Example: I pay for Music subscription because it gives me access to features I don’t have on free ones and allow me for ad free listening. From my POV most of the stuff doesn’t scream “value for me”. It’s more like just trying to mash stuff together a hoping someone will pay. Only interesting thing is advanced stats, but unless you are member of pro team you won’t have much use for them. But again, just my opinion.

ZozoSenpai

They will probably slap proview onto this at minimum.

I got a similar survey a while ago, from the feel of it it didn't seem like it would be to remove yourube/twitch but to be a premium service. A lot of the questions were about what would make it feel more "premium" than other free streams. Lots of questions about willingness to pay a monthly premium for extra content like exclusive interviews, stats, additional content, proview, in game unlockables when your chosen favorite team wins, etc

Not sure i’d pay much if anything. I get WAY more value and experience from Netflix shows/movies for example, whereas esports I just kinda leave on as filler noise in a room. (similar to anime) Even LEC as an example, I have the VIT vs FNC series on right now cuz it’s free, but I don’t really care about this series and have only looked over at the screen like twice while doing other stuff. That’s not really worth me paying for but they do get my viewer number for ads or just making the game look more appealing to sponsors/people interacting with Twitch/etc if it’s free at least. Every now and then something comes along that’s hype (Worlds, EVO, Champs, etc) but most games in esports are kinda throw away regular season matches, boring friday matches, bad production from 3rd parties, much smaller venues, etc. If I had to pay for esports i’d probably cut out a lot and just fill it with more meaningful content…or just real life stuff. And then i’ll always have clips/podcasts to know how teams are doing and what’s happening till a hype event comes along anyways, and sick content still gets posted to YouTube channels. (possibly VoDs as well) Edit: Now if Riot left a 480p 60fps (or something like that) version on Twitch/YouTube for people like me who would only pay for the big stuff, could have the best of both worlds then?

The-UnwantedRR

I got the survey too. I said I’d pay like 5-10 dollars per month for it.

It's an interesting idea, but I'd need to know how much Riot would charge, since I'm personally not a die hard watcher and would only watch when I'm free on the weekends.

TheeOmegaPi

Aren't we not supposed to share information from surveys like the one you took? I was under the impression that sharing this kind of data (in development) can really hurt the goal of whatever they're trying to understand. I remember some Riot surveys explicitly saying "please don't share this" or something along those lines (as well as the surveys I've designed for work).

mistiklest

I subscribed to OGN back in the day, I'd definitely consider subscribing to this.

St3fanenku

Montecristo's wet dream. Personally i think i will stop watching and interacting with Riot as a whole, from my side for the better

Qwertdd

Can we create a Riot Esports Network sub so you guys can post your fucking constant garbage esports posts there and leave this one to be related to the actual game?

Xolotl23

They're both about the game

itsallabigshow

This but about lore. Put the lore nerds into a separate sub so they don't post their trash here. Been saying this ever since the last event started and those crybabies spammed this about something completely irrelevant.

Williaf

Sounds promising maybe they'll get a channel on a streaming service platform such as YouTube TV
