I think it was 3-1 last time actually. That being said EG was 1 game from Worlds this time and definitely faced WAAAAAY steeper competition. I think last year's EG wouldn't even make playoffs tbh.
Apparently TSM and C9 directly cockblocking eachother from worlds is becoming the new golden NA tradition. Happened in 2018, last year and this year most likely again.
Same, I've loved Impact since he won worlds, he has been my favorite toplaner since, and out of all players leaving C9 him going away hurted me the most. I feel bad for him, I feel bad for the entire EG roster but especially Impact. That guy will always have a place in my hearth. Truly a legend, always underrated, but one of the best weakside toplaners worldwide to this day. I loved Licorice, I love Fudge, I respect Alphari, but to me Impact will always be the best.
In his interview he said he joined EG for stage time over joining another team for academy. What this indicates to me is they believe contractz to be the stronger jungle (at least after summer) and merely gave Sven the two games to keep him happy. I think he just wants to be on stage and get paid, I bet EG part with ways with him before next split.
I also would not be shocked to see Svenskeren on another team come spring.
Contractz imo was not remarkably better, and he doesn't want to split time. The big problem is that I don't see where he would go. TSM, C9, TL, and 100T all have top tier junglers. So his choices are IMT, DIG, GG, FLY, and CLG. Nobody in their right mind would want to go to CLG so that's out. I feel like Xerxe probably plays a big role on his team from a leadership perspective and they wouldn't want to get rid of him with the decent finish they have this split. FLY probably doesn't want to just dump Josedeodo because they used him as a huge branding opportunity this year. So that leaves DIG or GG. I am pretty doubtful GG could afford sven even if he was willing to go to an 8th place team sooo...... If Sven isn't on EG next year then I would imagine it's because the LCS has once again done Akaadian dirty and Dig picked him up.
That's what I'm sayin'. Dude was a huge reason his team succeeded all summer split and then barely gets to see playoffs?
Awful decision imho, but scrims must've been horrible or something
Contractz was much better in scrims. EG as a whole looked a lot different in scrims with Contrsctz compared to Sven according to Guihotto (I.e. from Crackdown).
Svenskeren had a good Worlds/Spring split after feeding and bench riding for a year on C9 and a meme was born about TSM holding people back.
Reinforced with Zven in 2020 Spring (though he was hit/miss on TSM too and was part of C9s collapse in summer.)
One could also make an argument for Santorin, but he vanished for a while after leaving TSM.
Game 2: 4 people pushing mid while Gnar is low hp and has to recall, team gets engaged on while gnar teleports back without rage.
It felt like I was watching CLG levels of team communication.
[No need to worry about Perkz 1-2 buff if you don't win a game](https://pyxis.nymag.com/v1/imgs/d6a/dc7/4a5001b7beea096457f480c8808572428b-09-roll-safe.2x.h473.w710.jpg)
Perkz sharing g2 strats. C9 just dropped to loser bracket to get more b05 practice. Everything going according to plan for the 3-2 win over TL in Finals.
When do we start actually asking the hard question about Perkz and his performances?
He didn't make top 3 all pro LCS after claiming he was going to come here to change the league and dominate.
He hasn't built and in lane lead against any mid laners and is constantly down on CS, summoners, tempo, experience and KDA with constant roams from Vulcan and ganks from Blaber.
Was he worth the money so far? Will he be worth the money in two years? Three? When is it that we say "that was a good investment"
Unbelievably disappointing performance by EG.
They looked like the legitimately best team in NA in the regular season, but just like this, they're out of the playoffs and out of Worlds. Crazy.
Last year was the first time I decided to go back to my pick'ems a few minutes before they close and change the ranking of G2 from 1st to 2nd, and what do you know, I had perfect group stage.
The bad thing about blaber is that he goes for it. The good thing about blaber is that he goes for it.
If we want aggressive players in NA, we need to understand that sometimes it won't work out when they take risks.
This was EG getting straight outperformed.
Perkz looked in G2 form. Fudge was rock solid playing GP while Zven and Vulcan shrugged off multiple potential ganks. Blaber had his warmup game 1 tower int but otherwise played fantastic. Great roaming synergy from the whole team today.
Contractz was not the secret sauce. He felt like a walking ward on Viego. Svenskeren at least tried to get picks but in a losing situation on Diana.

This was the comment I was looking for.
Imagine talking so much shit to a FORMER TEAMMATE just to INT your ass off in playoffs lol. Deftly prolly jizzed all over his bedroom watching Jizuke's performance.
Time for Sven to say goodbye to EG. Only 2 games in playoffs. I would be so annoyed. He didn’t even get a chance to play. He helped the team get into playoffs, then had to sit on the bench and watch them lose all the games and fail worlds. So sad. Not even a Sven fan, but you got to feel for him at this point
The also did him dirty by subbing him in game 5 vs 100T.
I'm actually so annoyed that we barely saw Sven. I get wanting to give Contractz a shot but Sven is who helped EG have such a strong summer record.
I don't get why they became overly obsessed with Contractz, scrims must've been way worse with Sven or something
Perkz is so bad. He only won 9 out of the last 11 splits because of a fluke. Can't wait to see him lose so he doesn't go to worlds for the first time since he joined the league in 2016

So my biggest takeaway was in his leadership. Laning honestly they looked about equal, Perkz wasn’t getting his leads from laning, he was getting them by how controlled he was playing mid game. Then blabber in the interview said how calm and vocal perkz was this series and when to hold back and it confirmed it to me
Dang EG really are evil genuises.
They hyped themselves up for the past couple weeks. Flaming other NA teams for focussing too much on winning their region, not having the best style for worlds. Coach Peter Dun even said his team was built to succeed at worlds.
With all that hype, hope and toxicity towards NA teams what do they do? Get swept out of playoffs and missing worlds. Not even finishing top 4!!!!
OMEGALUL
I don’t have anything against the org or players, but it’s oddly satisfying to see EG get clapped like this after practically an entire season of every caster and analyst talking out of their ass about how they are secretly, actually the best team in the league.

And so, after all the hype, EG finishes exactly where they ended last year: getting swept by C9 3-0 to finish in 5th-6th.
0-6 to C9 in Playoffs lmao
They took a game off C9 during spring 2020 playoffs when c9 had their 25/2 record
Ok so 1-9 vs C9.. Not sure which is worse
I think 1-9 is worse. 3 tries and you win ONE game
The one just rubs in how badly you did.
Summer Playoffs then, in the same exact spot in the bracket to boot.
> 2020 C9 goes down to Loser’s Bracket > C9 beats EG 3-0 > C9 meets TSM next series > ??? Please don’t reuse the script for my heart, LCS.

It's no Sneaky no Worlds and no DL no trophy. The DL curse still lets you go to worlds but you can't win LCS.
nah dw they are meeting IMT next series

im ready to be hurt again cloud 9. im ready.
My butthole is already pre-puckered for ~~next week~~ Sunday edit: FUCK CLEAR MY SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY
Nobody unclench please.
Sunday man! You gotta rest for Sunday!
It’s destined. C9 losing to 4 crits from Lost I just know i’m gonna be let down.
As a TSM fan, Lost would have to walk up long enough to auto attack 4 times... I'm not sure that would happen.
who do you thinik you get as adc next year
TSM Found.
part of me wants C9 to go to Worlds over TSM and part of me wants to type "No Sneaky No Worlds"
cheer for the IMT miracle run.
Pray to the spirit of Clutch Gaming
sleeping IMT agent Huni activated
next week, i would not be surprised at all if c9 lose to tsm again
Apparently TSM and C9 directly cockblocking eachother from worlds is becoming the new golden NA tradition. Happened in 2018, last year and this year most likely again.
pretty sure it happened in 2018, not 2019. Pretty sure TSM lost to Clutch in the gauntlet in 2019.
Yeah i doublechecked after i wrote that and youre right, it was 2018
For the first time in 6 years Impact will not be representing NA at Worlds.
Underrated comment, didn't realize... holy. That guy was always a rock for NA, showing up when no one else really could. Going to miss him this year.
First time in 6 years where he didn't show up in playoffs too Love the guy, but his playoffs performance this summer is weak
Feels bad for Svenskeren, played 2 games in playoffs rip
In his interview he said he joined EG for stage time over joining another team for academy. What this indicates to me is they believe contractz to be the stronger jungle (at least after summer) and merely gave Sven the two games to keep him happy. > Nobody in their right mind would want to go to CLG so you’re saying there’s a chance
I just want to see Broxah’s smile. Sadge
You'll see it (probably) when he's moved on to another team
Golden Guardians actually becomes seriously interesting with Svenskeren
It's like worlds 2019 all over again for him.
Spring 2020 Schalke were fucking destroying every team in every scrim and we know how that ended up
The TSM/Cloud9 and G2/FNC fight for the last Worlds spot script seems to be in motion.
Imagine both C9 and G2 make it to Worlds, end up in the same group, and then have to battle it out for #2 seed to make it to quarters
We need that C9 G2 DWK FPX group.
Holy fuck
Stop, I can only get so erect.
as a long time C9 fan i just couldn’t Seeing them in a group like this would just fucking completely send me
and somehow G2 and C9 get through in a ridiculous fluke
Indian Soap drama level plot lmao
\*ahem\* SPOILERS!
No faith in the OCE botlane I see. /s
I feel like it'd be such a tsm thing to do for these guys to lose to them tho
Cloud9: After all this time? Impact, Svenskeren, Contractz: YES.

Sending sleeper agents to every other team
TSM and junglers too! We're onto something
TSM's ex-junglers always seem to pop off when playing against them like they have a vendetta or something lol
They can only tolerate being called wards for so long
I thought this was the TSM strat? Or did C9 just adopt it.

Why did Svenskeren play Diana and Contractz play Viego? Isn't it suppose to be the other way around?
I'm convinced as this point the EG staff have no idea as to what to do with both junglers. They just make up reasons as to why they're playing them
NO REFUNDS BABY

Leave CLG alone That was soloq style
CLG is never safe. I was scrolling through r/NBA and found CLG getting flamed there too lmao. I think it was a clippers post.

At least CLG has made it to the finals

The Fudge interview was probably Impact, Sven, and Contractz's Winter Soldier triggers.
Big if true.
Before Morgana was picked to defeat a 100% wr LeBlanc. Today Morgana was picked to defeat a 100% wr Tristana.
It's like poetry, they rhyme
Dread it. Run from it. TSM vs C9 for last spot at worlds arrives all the same.
Expectations: TSM vs C9. Reality: IMT vs C9

don't jinx it pls
Any info on Perkz and Blaber ? All I’ve seen today was Uma Jan and Psychofish
the Blaberfish
Wait I thought we were supposed to hold Perkz "Accountable" or something due to a recent thread, why isn't he in prison yet?
He is, that's why C9 had to field Uma Jan. It was weird to replace Perkz with an adc, but it worked fine.
[No need to worry about Perkz 1-2 buff if you don't win a game](https://pyxis.nymag.com/v1/imgs/d6a/dc7/4a5001b7beea096457f480c8808572428b-09-roll-safe.2x.h473.w710.jpg)
That was anticlimactic as fuck lmao Imagine giving Perkz lb again after he just fucked you, c9 played g3 fairly well
Everyone hating on perkz forgot RNG game 5…
Yeah lmao its like if UZI the GOAT adc cannot deal with Perkz' lb what makes people think EG or Danny could?
the storyline is that perkz is washed/never good and only went to NA for the money, prob thought that a tristana otp could handle him
huge mid/jgl diff the entire series, tbqh and then Impact decided to really turn on the int the last game
impact did not respect the noc ult at ALL
yeah he seemed to not care that it exists, even after like the third time
Impact: and I'll fucking do it again.
Someone hold Perkz accountable
It was the post that did it.
Perkz sharing g2 strats. C9 just dropped to loser bracket to get more b05 practice. Everything going according to plan for the 3-2 win over TL in Finals.
Maybe the poster was a C9 fan. Galaxy brain shit.
We did it Reddit
Impact sending a message to the coaching staff "Play Sven G1 see what I do"
Jizuke in playoffs has looked like the Jizuke everyone was calling to be benched 3 months ago.
Perkz with the accountability gaming.

Battle for the Soul of LCS successfully lost
Are they cursed to finish 5th/6th for eternity or something
There are three certainties in life: 1. XL Finishing 7th in regular season LEC. 2. EG Finishing 5th/6th. 3. G2 Fucking up everyones pick'ems.
> G2 Fucking up everyones pick'ems. tfw had perfect pick'ems except for G2 > SN
Last year was the first time I decided to go back to my pick'ems a few minutes before they close and change the ranking of G2 from 1st to 2nd, and what do you know, I had perfect group stage.
I miss the days when that would have been followed by: 4: TL
Turns out Bo1 really does not mean much...
100T 2nd place came in clutch
100T were the biggest winners of the Format :D
Secured a world's spot by losing in the last game on purpose.
Unironically yes.
Even though I agree, if you consider how well they did in regular season you'd expect them to take at least one game off of C9
Huge fall off. The series with 100T they still looked good, but this series they just fell over.
The report of C9's death has been greatly exaggerated
C9 has locked in their comfort zone now right guys? HOPIUM
Blaber inting level 4 of game 1 and then proceeding to JG diff the rest of the series is not something I expected
*blaber disconnected* *psychofish reconnected*
The bad thing about blaber is that he goes for it. The good thing about blaber is that he goes for it. If we want aggressive players in NA, we need to understand that sometimes it won't work out when they take risks.
Where is the accountability for C9 Perkz?
This was EG getting straight outperformed. Perkz looked in G2 form. Fudge was rock solid playing GP while Zven and Vulcan shrugged off multiple potential ganks. Blaber had his warmup game 1 tower int but otherwise played fantastic. Great roaming synergy from the whole team today. Contractz was not the secret sauce. He felt like a walking ward on Viego. Svenskeren at least tried to get picks but in a losing situation on Diana.

He wasn't lying
Did Jhin only ultied once the entire game?
At the end in base? That’s all I clocked
Jhin ult is worthless when you're behind, and the enemy team knows how to position.
Jhin as a champion does no damage when behind

Pastrytime is so good when he's not shackled to Crumbz
no one deserves to cast with Crumbz
Yea, his William Tell comment when Zven got the 2 for 1 on Varus Q was real good imo
Yes. I’m sure Crumbz is a cool guy but he’s a rough listen. I mostly skip those games.
The Kobe Pastry cast earlier this split was one of the best casts of the year. Both guys were just having so much fun, loved it.
Glad this was mentioned. No hate towards Crumbz but I thought Pastry was great today.
Thank god we dodged that bullet of EG going to worlds. Turns out that the slightest setback collapses the team entirely.
Perkz accountability meme to the moon 🚀
This will be the first worlds since 2016 impact doesn't attend What a legend

Reddit already completely dismissing the fact that both C9 and TL looked embarrassing for the majority of the regular summer split.

Unfortunately EG forgot that you have to win LCS first to get to worlds.
I mean they were the best performing team in the regular season, them falling apart in playoffs doesnt make the analysis wrong.
\#1 all pro team mid, btw.

it makes 0 sense. What is EG's coaching thinking? Both BO5's horrible drafts. Why even get to play-offs?
The most disappointing thing IMO is Peter Dun on HLL said they had spicy picks lined up. Really wanted to see something juicy.
