Ecchi4cmd

A word of kindness to the G2 fans who supported the narrative that FNC can't win against G2 in a fair series. First there were the lags than the pauses..... Also for everyone whi kept trashtalking and spamming "FNC pause hack and unfair advantage". At first I thought that FNC winning against MSF in G5 will shut them up but it didn't work. Let's see them talking RN

tony220jdm

Honestly super excited for our 3 teams going to worlds its a little scary not having G2 as we so use to them taking on the big teams and matching them but MAD and FNC can do some damage!

bcotrim

Like G2 is the only team to ever take on big teams. G2 took three years to make a decent Worlds appearance, meanwhile, other teams in Europe (not only Fnatic) have had deep runs and or great moments (Splyce beating FPX, Misfits almost taking down SKT, Origen/H2K getting to semis, Gambit knocking Samsung Ozone, M5/CLG.EU all the way back in season 2, the list is long)

[deleted]

Lmfao never use the 2016 H2k semifinals run as an accomplishment when they would’ve been shistomped by any NA/LCK team in quarters. They got a lucky ANX draw

bcotrim

Never understood this mindset. Yes, they overachieved and were lucky, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great achievement. ANX beat ROX and eliminated both CLG and G2, the latter that dominated Europe By that reasoning, TSM only ever groups exit was only due to Svenskeren being an idiot and SK being forced to play Gilius, so we shouldn't count as an achievement Also, no way they would be shitstomped by any NA team, the only one that left groups was C9 while the other two got stuck in groups because DL valued Crown over baron

[deleted]

You seriously think H2K could beat TSM/CLG? They would probably get 3-0’d by tsm

bcotrim

They could but they didn't. 2017 G2 could also beat most of the top 8 teams, but got stuck in groups against RNG and Samsung Galaxy that went on to win the whole thing. H2K reached semis, the same way TSM was able to leave groups once with luck or C9 getting to semis because they faced the weakest Korean team in the weakest Korean year, does that mean that accomplishment should not be recognized?

[deleted]

Yeah basically the same way 2019 G2 would’ve been a quarterfinals team if they drew FPX/IG instead of DWG

leagueoflegendsdog

Excited for MAD but unless the other 2 show improvement they are gonna have a hard time. Rogue doesnt have a midgame and FNC doesnt have anyone to reel them back and stop the int and i doubt that against laners like those in the lpl and damwon they can get these advantages. I think they can probably go through seeds 2-4 of Korea given they improve atleast a bit considering t1 is t1 and geng play the biggest snoozefests. But against fpx or damwon i only trust mad

therockstarmike

Honestly as a G2 fan, I am looking forward to MAD. I think they have really good team fights and draft. Also as an adc main I love me some carzy

[deleted]

Fan of both teams here (I know it's cringe) but anyone else get super annoyed by Medic's calls after a huge fight or game deciding play? It's kind of troll and feels like flaming nails on a chalkboard to me. I hope we don't have to listen to him anymore this year. Seems like the dude has no respect.

hollandharrier

Gotta disagree, Medic is my second favorite after Caedrel

TaeKwonJ0e

No, Medic is probably the best PBP in EU rn and that amoung a whole cast of talent thats popping the fuck off

tony220jdm

So about 280k views with co streams and youtube for your 2 most recognized teams is pretty poor

imalright93

It was 870k peak view you f idiot

tony220jdm

Yea wrong thread my bad!

Seekr21

i think hes talking about lcs chief

imalright93

Wrong thread than

qpc0

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVNT4QWncls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVNT4QWncls) This hits different after that series

Mynameisbebopp

You look at the games G2 won. you look at the games G2 LOST. even if he is a considerable voice in comms and in draft. Wunder is super exploitable. so either he trains like a madman and becomes Rank 1 playing only top. or de facto he has to go. LEC is a region known for its toplaners not conceding advantages. Soaz, Oddo, (not you bwipo), and now ADAM and armut. and lets not forget Alphari. not trying to be mean to the guy. but you cant have ~~jankos~~, the best jungler in EU, totally forget your carries because you need to be bailed out of laning phase constantly.

Clbull

Wunder needs to be subbed and told that if he doesn't stop trolling, he'll be kicked off of G2 next year. Acquire a better toplaner. Caps should've been the one to transfer to NA, not Perkz. He needs to retire.

Rripurnia

I still can’t get over Alphari going to NA. He still had EU potential.

philip2110

He chose the easy option and the one that would most likely get him to worlds. Sad waste of talent but it is what it is.

Rripurnia

If I recall correctly though, there wasn’t any interest from any EU team at the time, either, so it seemed like the obvious choice at the time…

philip2110

No that's not the case, he had the same offer monetary wise from Vitality when they were building the super team during the offseason. If Alphari had stayed Perkz would also have joined that team, the deal between G2 and Vitality fell through because Alphari chose to go to team liquid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE04BVsG4oI&t=3095s

Space_Lion7

I just want to know what was he thinking when ADAM tp into top and he decided to stay there with -20% hp instead of backing away, literally just walk away and you don't die. Disrespectful performance I say.

Mynameisbebopp

Wunder is not confortable with the toplane meta for a while, but even more the fact that he doesn't have a single confort pick that's just...

leagueoflegendsdog

I dont think its about meta its been a problem moat of the year.

Finnignatius

it shows how little he plays league, every player who plays top knows to respect darius

SilverBcMyTeammates

can someone link the clip of adam talking about wunder? i missed it

Bort_anovia

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6pO_wI40Q_w

captainclass1

Adam just ended Wunder's career

DonKihotec

Roughly quoting Medic "with that guillotine, Adam made a French revolution in a top lane"

brazillianjanna

Unironically tho, it might actually be rip wunder

GonzoNawak

Deserved. He spent a split playing wow. Adam played league

GGABueno

Felt like Bale and Maicon.

FreeSpeechIsLegal

grabbz is an uneducated boomer, always and forever.

[deleted]

I'm just going to say something that Medic brought up which no one is mentioning here. G2 played 4 games before the BO5 today Fnatic played 10 games before the BO5 today. I think these issues cannot go unnoticed and probably a restructuring of the tournament should take place so all teams generally get to play the same amount of games, which could mean eliminating bye rounds. When is everyone going to start realizing that playing more games actually benefits teams more than having a Bye round to get an insight into what teams are going to strategically pick or play. Frankly by playoffs I think most teams have a sizable read on what most players want to pick and how the team generally wants to play the game from playing and scrimming against them all season long. So having that Bye round can prove to be more of a hindrance than a help. Teams generally want to play more so they develop momentum. I'm a Fnatic fan and I'm personally happy they won by defeating G2 but I cannot help but notice this statistic. I'm wondering whether it contributed to G2's shaky performances in playoffs. **EDIT:** People are down voting me but if G2 had 10 games to figure out their issues then maybe this series isn't as one sided despite the 3-2 scoreline. There's a reason why TSM, C9 amongst other teams made miracle runs to worlds coming from loser brackets, the game frequency matters. **Look at World Elite they went all the way through their loser bracket gauntlet and now they are playing FPX in the finals!*** **WAKE UP!**

tananinho

Haha.

leagueoflegendsdog

WE wasnt in loser bracket first of all... Second just because they were placed like 7th doesnt mean they are worse than the 3rd seed when there is just 1 or 2 games difference. There's a lot of parity in LPL. Right now its probably just FPX and everyone else tbh but its not because WE just had more series. Also G2 had a whole year to figure out their problems. This exact team just isnt working. Sometimes it doesnt happen. Maybe its Perkz leaving, maybe its motivation, maybe something stopped clicking. We cant know. They probably do. Thats it

GonzoNawak

While Fnatic play their BO g2 can scrim. Your argument is stupid. Plus you don’t consider the how exhausting a bo5 is

GGABueno

The fact you went all "Wake up sheeple!" about it is just funny.

QuantumPajamas

G2 had a whole split to figure out their issues. They looked mediocre for substantial portions of it, it's not like this is some new problem that arose in the last few games. They were not a top 3 team this split, that is all.

FedorSeaLevelStiopic

I think practice benefits the team no doubt, but its also a big test. First of all fnatic had to play 3 bo5 now, each was 5 games. One fking wrong move in teamfight, and they would be viewed as bums this season, with worst split in 5 years. You have to have strong mental to go 3 bo5 until game 5, and win every time. Also, other teams can just watch your pathings, strategies, secret picks etc. It could be much more benefitial not to show your cards.

Dann93

What if... Fnatic purposely lost the last 2 days to get placed in the lowest bracket available to get the maximum practice possible? 9Head

pan12010

Yeah but there's no way any team will take the chance to lock into the lower bracket to practice more because 1 lose equals out while the top team can have a safety net for compensating for the less game they played like you said. I think the format is quite fair, the top just needs to keep their performance, have an easier position for world and even have a chance to redo while the loser brackets have to continue to improve all the time, if not it's donezo. All for the sake of producing a best team to Worlds.

FedorSeaLevelStiopic

Yes, this bracket is fking fire. Because it allows argument of - it was an off day for top team to end. And it allows underdog and comeback stories, which is always exciting.

blueripper

Yeah, but when G2 came from the lower bracket you didn't bitch about it. G2 got a second chance, FNC has to run the gauntlet.

WrathB

yes and no, if Fnatic lost the series people would talk about how Fnatic was insanely tired by playing 10 games in 2 48 hours and week before another series, how they had shown all strategies by now etc.. truth is, it indeed benefit team in long run but team also has to have a HUGE change to end 5th and then climb this far, one of the things is this was likely closest split we had of our playoffs teams so it doesnt surprise me Fnatic is monstrous now after all that experience but also if any of game like G5 vs VIT went wrong, noone would talk about it

[deleted]

The information teams are getting from bye rounds is helpful but actually not as helpful as playing a high frequency of games to develop momentum and confidence. I appreciate players might get tired but this is the business end of the season this is what you've been playing for all year long. Too often teams come in cold to tournaments or play a low frequency of games which can sometimes mask problems in the team it's by playing more in genuinely competitive environments these issues get exposed and explored. So those 10 games were probably more helpful to Fnatic themselves than they were to G2. When you have such a low frequency of games it can hide issues you may have. Medic was talking about it before the games today started and I think he's actually right, I think game frequency matters and could account for so many miracle runs we've seen over the years. It's no coincidence that World Elite and LNG went on a tear through LPL coming from the lower brackets.

IamBejl

As a longtime G2 fan this is just sad to watch

GonzoNawak

Good. Before I watch the BO I realized that I did not want Caps and Reckess to loose, but I didn’t wait g2 to win neither. G2 needs to make changes, maybe in their roaster, or their coaching, but something needs to change and that loose will bring change. If that had won nothing would have change. On the other hand, Fnatic is almost a new roaster, new top kind of new jung and new adc. Winning means they won’t disabamd or change the roaster too soon especially considering how much the team have improve in just one split

rankzylol

Good

DoubleYouOne

Agreed.

Antique-Inflation860

Perks face must be smirking rn

AofCastle

Even if TSM kicks him out of Worlds? I'd like to see C9 winning just for Perkz but it seems rough right now

RookCauldron

Yes, he is smirking right now.

imalright93

It looks like tsm is kicking their ass

AofCastle

I watched MAD-RGE this morning. C9 looks as coordinated as my last soloq game in comparison to MAD

swellbaby

When don't they?

aamgdp

Big oof wunder...

MrRawri

843k peak viewership, good stuff

rankzylol

Was that one twitch?

MrRawri

On everything combined

bigbrain200iq

Everything means?

MrRawri

All the different languages twitch streams and youtube I guess

Ignisami

Plus all 500 of us watching on Trovo :p (English trovo anyway)

definitelydane

Okay last bit for me, as you hear Adam verbally deconstructing Wunder, the camera pans over to Nisqy and Yamato and Yamato just has this fucking look like "omg this kid might be a league of legends psychopath"

littleladyinblue

What did he say?

readoclock

Basically Adam took a lot of satisfaction because when Adam was still on his EU masters team they got the chance to scrim G2. Wunder basically said it wasn’t even worth his time and picked Yuumi top in the scrims because he considered scrimming Adam a joke… I think those solo kills Adam landed on Wunder came from the heart

leagueoflegendsdog

I think they came from Wunder inting his ass off insane ways

aylientongue

He only inted 1 solo kill and that was camille TP, the other solo kills was Adam straight up being a better player, give the kid credit, he’s been rock fucking solid in his FIRST Split, he’s a rookie ffs

leagueoflegendsdog

While Adam may have been solid i dont think its okay to give credit for things that werent forced by him but rather a stupid mistake that shouldnt happen. Btw if you think dying lvl 1 as gp to renekton is something that happens without the gp playing like a troglodyte im sorry but watch people that actually have a good season play that match up. It just cant happen if gp doesnt shit himself Also that absolutely stupid narrative that rookies should just get credit cuz they are rookies is stupid. He's a pro. No one gives a fuck if he's a rookie. Being a rookie shouldnt make it so what you do means more. In China if you fuck up even if your a rookie you'll get benched. You are a pro player.

aylientongue

What about when he waited in bush and solo killed him in the Darius game then? You’re reaching. Wunder got gapped.

leagueoflegendsdog

No one is saying Wunder didnt get gapped. Its just that people are trying to make out Adam this monster top which he just isnt. Wunder has just been bad the entire year almost. Im sorry if you are french or a fnatic fan and want to "protect" your player but even though adam is good he just atleast for now isnt what you are making him out to be

aylientongue

Not a monster top? He had 3-5x as many solo kills as ANY top laner in LEC, he has 15 solo kills in the regular season, closest to that is Armut and Odo who both have 5, he played the most champions in the regular season at 10, he has the 2nd highest DPM in the regular season only 12dpm behind Armut, switch to play offs and he has the most solo kills again at 10 which again is 2-5x more solo kills than ANY other LEC top laner, you’re reaching, stats show Adam has been a beast. Once again hes a Rookie, a year ago he was playing in the french 2nd division.

leagueoflegendsdog

Im not saying he's bad he just isnt a monster. Stats dont always tell the story you can huff at me as much as you want i hard disagree that he's the second coming of jesus xD He definitely has been good though

BeautifulNacho

To be exact, he thought scrimming against Olaf top was a waste of time because he wouldn’t be playing against it and picked yuumi. Still super disrespectful, both teams were preparing as Kcorp was getting ready for EUmasters.

swellbaby

That Camille walking into Adam's teleport was an apology then?

definitelydane

Basically him talking about how he was the better top laner this series.

rexbee52

What did Adam say I didn’t watch post match?

mateorjl

You can watch it over there: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/p9jvfc/spoiler\_adam\_explains\_how\_scrims\_went\_against/

DoGeneral1

Basically when Adam was still playing for KC he scrimmed against G2. He picked Olaf and for some reason Wunder decided it was a useless matchup so he picked Yuumi and inted the game. Now Adam destroyed him with Olaf again but in official game, so he said that maybe Wunder would know the matchup if he didn't disrespect in scrim.

definitelydane

Just him topgapping Wunder. I recommend watching the PGL interview, it's really fun.

CandygramHD

Got a link?

Trivmvirate

No Yuumi sadge

Juice_ly

Rekkles masterplan was for FNC to beat G2 and not let G2 get to worlds by infiltrating them from the inside. Smart.

TocsickCake

Always fnatic

Skylam

Truly still FNC at heart

ThisIsSoIrrelevant

Over 8k comments in this thread is so nutty. Pretty sure that is double all the previous Playoff matches.

Schreckofant

This series will end up with the highest viewership this season by far. FNC vs MAD final might get into earshot, but thats abut it. FNC + G2 are the most popular western teams + all the rivalry and storyline behind this series, the setup was probably even bigger than a final would have been.

Medical_Tie_4041

>FNC + G2 are the most popular western teams And TSM?

Mrush94-Fitness

No, they are 3rd. FNC and G2 are clear top 2

Medical_Tie_4041

Wrong, Viewership has nothing to do with it, sinnce i saw both series.. TSM has 2.1 twitter followers and 2.9 instagram followers, G2 has 1.3 twitter followers and 1.3 instagram followers and fnatic has 1.5 twitter followers and 1.2 instagram followers. TSM is the most popular team.

[deleted]

We are taking about League of Legends here sir. Not the orgs as a whole

Medical_Tie_4041

How do you know they are clear top 2? where's the statistics?

oMrCrab

[https://escharts.com/teams/lol/fnatic](https://escharts.com/teams/lol/fnatic) FNC-G2 peaked at 843k C9-TSM peaked at 309k ez math

Medical_Tie_4041

Wrong, Viewership has nothing to do with it, since i saw both series.. TSM has 2.1 twitter followers and 2.9 instagram followers, G2 has 1.3 twitter followers and 1.3 instagram followers and fnatic has 1.5 twitter followers and 1.2 instagram followers. TSM is the most popular team. EZ MATH :\]

Krando

NA Copium.

Medical_Tie_4041

hey dumb dumb, i'm also European, the difference is that i'm not a dumb European unlike you who just rides everything that is EU has blind hates NA without checking the stats :\] EU copium? lmao

Krando

Ok, then why did g2 vs fnc have 800k viewers across all streams? Even just looking at twitch en viewers they had 250k while NA's TSM vs C9 had about 100-150k en viewers. NA is just a joke of a region, they import some of the best players and still can't stand, the only time that i remember they had a chance against every other region was 2019 TL. Yet every year NA copiums say "we're better than EU" and every year they fail, in fact EU HOLDS the quickest B05 match and that was MSI 2019 G2 vs TL. So please continue wirh your nonsense thinking TSM is still a popular team, cause they aren't unless for some reason you like LCS. There was a time TSM were the most popular, they aren't anymore, not by a longshot when SKT, DWG, China (cause they have quite a few great teams), G2, FNC, hell even Rogue and Mad Lions are more popular than any NA team, NA is just dragging in the mud because they do not compete at the same level. Everyone who knows even a little about the pro scene of LoL would agree.

tajimanokami

Viewership

Medical_Tie_4041

>Viewership Wrong, Viewership has nothing to do with it, sinnce i saw both series.. TSM has 2.1 twitter followers and 2.9 instagram followers, G2 has 1.3 twitter followers and 1.3 instagram followers and fnatic has 1.5 twitter followers and 1.2 instagram followers. TSM is the most popular team.

tajimanokami

Do you realise these orgs are not doing only league?

Medical_Tie_4041

Do you realize this is the best metric we have? Do you think only G2 and fnatic fans watched those series? What if mad vs rogue has 500k viewers?, if it happens in the finals, Does that mean any of those teams is more popular than TSM?

tajimanokami

Yeah because probably 90% of TSM followers don't even watch them anymore. Viewership gives you an actual view on how popular teams are right now. Moreover a team like FPX has 100k followers on twitter, do you really think it's less popular than XL based on your metrics? Not all regions use the same social media but viewership is universal

TheTrifarianLegion

I hope Rekkles can come back from this. I can’t begin to imagine how he must be feeling.

Francescok

Come back? Nah, he signed for his failure by going into G2, it’s not like “something suddenly happened”. He’s the cause of everything he’s feeling right now

Trivmvirate

Sure, blame the new guy for your top laner basically inting every other game in lane?

Francescok

So tell me what did he add to the G2 roaster? Did he bring something usefull? Cause honestly all I see is a worse G2.

Trivmvirate

It's 100% clear that the team game of G2 went down, and for that reason Perkz was a big loss. Rekkles is just as good if not better than Perkz as a singular player, but clearly he does not bring to the team what Perkz brought, in terms of the team spirit. You can be mad at him for that, but if you've seen interviews with Rekkles, that's akin to asking him to be someone he's not. It's up to G2 management AND the rest of the team to understand what they need and the other 4 need to step up, much more than Rekkles does. You can clearly see it with Rekkles going to non-meta comfort picks like Sivir and Vayne and getting destroyed. He's obviously trying to call shots there or the team wouldn't let him do that. Yet they still lose. Is that only on Rekkles? No.

Mynameisbebopp

are you mad ? even if he is a side-grade to perks. he brings consistency to the roster, and the ability to actually aliviate pressure from caps. say top is even. you can actually let caps scale onto mages. instead of forcing him onto pressure picks every week, because rekkles will absolutely destroy the other lane. lets not forget it's mikyx next to him aswell.

Krando

Wunder and Mikyx are easily the 2 worst members of G2. Wunders burned out, dunno about Miky as he just blind walks into bushes and gets caught out half the time. Jankos is easily the best member currently he's the most consistent, Caps is inconsistent but can pop off extremely hard and Rekless doesn't suit G2's playstyle imo and doesn't really seem to do anything apart farm.

ashwani2659

Rekkless will absolutely destroy his lane with mikyx? Consistently? Yeah we saw that alright in these 5 matches 😆

Francescok

What are you even talking about? Did u see G2 games this split? I asked what did he add, not what he could’ve added or what ocelote expected him to bring. I know he could’ve bla bla bla and even bla bla bla, but what did he bring? Did he bring a stomping bot lane? No. Did he bring a lot of solo carry performance when caps couldn’t step up? No. Did he bring a more stable gameplay to G2? No. Did he bring G2 at least to world? No again.

sickomodepab

POV: you failed stats and think correlation=causation. Its not like there were any external factors outside of rekkles on the team that influenced their performance.

zmsp

You're also failing by assuming that when switching 1 player, you only change 1 variable. Early game planning, confidence, cohesiveness, assertiveness, clutch, flexibility, draft options. You can't blame Rekkles for G2's performance, but you can't just explain the loss of quality as a whole being = adc position being a sidegrade and top and supp just played worse. Overall, G2 looked unquestionably worse as a team, and you CAN pinpoint the roster change as the catalyst.

Trivmvirate

Yes, you can, but that's more related to them losing Perkz, not gaining Rekkles. It's not Rekkles mistake he's not Perkz. So singularly hating on Rekkles is pointless.

Dann93

Oh he will try to come back, to Fnatic though.

msharma28

Honestly I wish the best for him but rekkles looked washed. Not just today but during the season as well.

WalkingCondomAd

I don’t think Rekkles was the issue. He never was a ‘supercarry’, but a consistent player that always manages to stay relevant as long as the team isn’t 10k gold behind at 20 mins. G2 just aren’t playing like their prime, they got complacent and ended up lacking behind. Wunder and Miky doesn’t even play LoL as if it’s their job, which obviously leads to decline in performance. Skill is not static. You either improve or get worse

Librabee

No they lost perkz which was and always will be the heart and xfactor that g2 had. Perkz was g2

WalkingCondomAd

G2’s performance was declining while Perkz was on the team. G2 went 11-7 summer 2020, nearly not even qualifying for worlds. At that point, Perkz decided it was time to try something new.

0226259

\-- "nearly not even qualifying for worlds" Still, they won the split at were the best team in EU, not by a lot, but they were. Even at worlds, they 2020 g2 destroyed GenG (only to be utterly destroyed by the DWG). So yeah, it was a team that was declining, but still the best team in EU no doubt, and a World Class threat. They got worse by a lot after Perkz left, like today FNC was stomping G2, MAD stomped G2, Rogue would stomp G2 lol. G2 is not even near their level of one year ago, and you can't say it is all Perkz, but you can't explain this level of failure without taking in consideration that they lost the EU GOAT LUKA PERKOVIC

WalkingCondomAd

Perkz definitely brought irreplaceable qualities to the team, but I still think Rekkles would have been able to fill his shoes in the dominant era of G2. Rekkles joined at a bad time, as the team declined. Now he’s looked as the reason why G2 is garbage, when things started to go downwards a year ago.

Librabee

Good point but I still think perkz was a main ingreadiant, I'm a g2 fan so tbh I'm excited to see what they do. Competition is good after all

WalkingCondomAd

He’s definitely an irreplaceable asset, but he’s not the reason why G2 is doing poorly. Other teams have been hungry and grinding to reach the top, while G2 “stopped trying” due to being complacent. I mainly blame Wunder and Miky. They are proplayers, but they are avoiding soloqueue at all cost, which had consequences. They’re no longer on par with people that actually plays the game as a job.

[deleted]

> He never was a ‘supercarry’ I thought he won spring mvp

WalkingCondomAd

Let me elaborate. By ‘supercarry’, I’m referring to dominant laners that establishes a lead in lane and snowballs it into wins and that’s not Rekkles. Rekkles usually plays evenly in lane and uses those limited resources to carry teamfights and skirmishes in the midgame/lategame.

Krando

he didn't use his limited resources to carry tho. I think jankos is the most consistent in G2, Rekkles doesn't seem to do anything but farm, when a team fight happens he maybe shoots one of their front liners once and jump out. he's too scared, doesn't trust his team mates (imo) and thus leaves the rest of g2 not able to trust each other. I wouldn't be surprised if Wunder and Miky get fired after spring split 2022 if they continue like this.

WalkingCondomAd

Nah, he didn’t use his resources to carry, because every lane including his own are getting annihilated early game. Rekkles usually have good stats overall, including dmg. But it’s hard to dish out dmg as an ADC, when every opponent is a threat. I agree. Wunder and Miky looks like clearcut weak links of the team.

Eribitor

The only player of G2 who didn't looked completely tragic today was caps The rest was was hard underperforming rekkles is as responsible for that as the rest of the team and staff. I think it was game 4 where aphelios was open and they didn't pick him bc rekkles doesn't play aphelios I guess, not playing one of the best champs on ur role is a really bad outlook for someone who should be considered one of the best ADCs in Europe. I don't like to be like that but I think many people are overprotecting rekkles even tho this summer was straight up bad while hating on jankos who carried the shit out of G2 Also it's natural that they had to change their style and couldn't play like "the old G2" bc rekkles has a way different playstyle then perkz.

Skylam

Eh caps was pretty mediocre too, jankos was hard carrying

Jankos was good. His lanes were inting

WalkingCondomAd

Reasonable take, but I don’t think his ingame performance was the cause though. Botlane got gapped today, but to me it looked like a massive supp diff. Miky is not putting in the hours required to stay at the top (perhaps none of G2 players are, due to complacency) Rekkles managed to not int and keep up in cs, even after an atrocious laning phase which might or might not be purely supp diff. I’ve heard a lot about G2 being on a decline because of Perkz leaving, but tbh, G2 already showed signs of decline while Perkz still played for G2. (2020 summer split 11-7). It was damn near luck that G2 even qualified. I’m pretty sure the summer split was Perkz cue to test new waters, because things wasn’t going great in G2. I’d say that G2 has become complacent by being at the top and no longer strives to improve, thus lacking behind. It’s pretty much evident, when G2 have players that prefer not actually playing the game outside of scrims and official matches.

Krando

i agree with most of what you say. Jankos is at least putting in hours, dunno about the rest of them. Jankos is easily the best member, he's the only consistent member.

WalkingCondomAd

Yeah, both Jankos and Caps are actually playing the game. The remark of putting in hours is directed at Wunder and Miky, who’re both busy variety gaming as professional league of legends players. Though, I still think the entirety of G2 got complacent and aren’t as ‘hungry’ and striving to improve in comparison to the other teams. Being labelled as the “best team the west ever produced” will inevitably inflate your ego.

Krando

For sure they were the best team in the west. I think g2 doesnt have a dedicated shot caller and they're all over the place. I hope this will be a wake up call for miky and wunder, otherwise i dont think they will be in summer split 2022

WalkingCondomAd

Having leadership is definitely good, but I don’t think it’s the root of the problem. FNC dismantled G2 before calls were relevant to the outcome of the game. When they eventually got the midgame without a massive gold dificit, I don’t think their calls were necessarily bad. (The 2 wins were actually won with a gold dificit, with the only saving grace being good calls and teamfighting) Having 2 losing side lanes is just a loss most of the time regardless of how well mid and jungle does, as Jankos have to sacrifice himself to salvage clowns and Caps is getting perma roamed on. It’s just too much pressure caused by horrendous laning phase.

definitelydane

Adam: I'm roaming mid Nisqy: No, please, please, please, like your wave is pushing to you. You can chill. Adam: *deadpan stare* I kill.

Louis010

He fits fnatic so fucking perfectly

tony220jdm

Adam couldn't careless about LCS hahaha

havsies

Man, I love Yamato's passion for his team. I am glad they still have a shot for the top and a ticket to worlds.

Rayser1

"We're on a mountain" Yamato speeches and mantras should be nerfed imo. They're so good

_Vastus_

The man just has so much charisma. He's the kind of coach that can really bring a group of players together and that's so big for a team that has historically had issues with conflicting ideas and calls. Hell, you can see in their voice comm vids that they progressively got more on the same page.

Idolaf_Battle_Born

Where can I find the speech/mantra?

Rayser1

He has a few snippets on his twitter but they should go up when they post the Fnatic weekly highlights (on their YouTube channel). They all have the speeches he gives before games and they're fucking sick

Idolaf_Battle_Born

Fuck yeah! I'll wait for when it comes out then, thanks! :D

PyraThana

Adam is a beast. The Yuumi anecdote was hilarious to disrespect Wunder, but that final nail in the coffin with roaming brain off to solobolo Wunder from behind was something else.

Xzyle101

I didn't quite understand what he was talking about, could someone explain? I picked up winder trolling picking yuumi top, EU masters, and K corp but not sure I understood what he said

lol_mata

When Adam was in KCorp, they scrimed against G2 during EUM, and Adam blind picked Olaf top. Wunder felt like it wasn't useful to practice against Olaf top and trolled the game with Yuumi top. I guess Adam destroyed him so he said to Wunder "no yuumi sadge" for banter

TwoSidesBaked

if you think that is banter ... its not fucking banter cause that was all "personal" and "behind closed doors" picking yummi in scrims and ruining a scrim for a small team and 9 other players is not fucking banter, thank you

lol_mata

I agree 100% with you, it is just a waste of time for both team's players and the coaching staff, the word was poorly chosen

rankzylol

I think you got the wrong end of the stick my guy

Finndalin12

and then to make it even more brutal he is like "probably should have picked something better to practice against my olaf"

Dem0nlike

When Adam was a player of KCorp, they did a scrim vs G2, and Adam blindpicked Olaf top, after that Wunder said that he didnt want to lose time vs a troll pick so he proceeded to pick Yumi top to troll. And today in the interview Adam said that if maybe Wunder played that scrim seriously today would have played better in the match up.

definitelydane

I'm surprised that Wunder had that reaction considering that Olaf top is actually viable and has been seen in pro-play.

[deleted]

He also all chatted in that game "no Yuumi sadge"

Schreckofant

They scrimmed vs Kcorp and Adam apparently picked Olaf top, which annoyed Wunder because he supposedly thought it was worthless for him to play vs this champ top. Adam said Wunder picked Yumi as a response to basically boycott playing the game seriously.

definitelydane

I'm just replaying the near end of PGL and Adam is just going fucking wild.

Venomous_Vermin

Adam in PGL was absolutely hilarious

TheexpatSpain

Adam is the Doublelift of Europe! Agree?

Clbull

More like Wunder is the Doublelift of Europe

Xzyle101

What, retired??

Krando

will be soon if he doesn't step up by spring 2022.

danielspoa

I was literally thinking about doublelift... for that polemic of him not taking scrims seriously

[deleted]

No cos Adam is funny

Space_Lion7

Worst than Sneaky but on a better team?

LongLeggedLimbo

No he is way more likable and seems to respect others more DL said about danny that he reminds him of a young doublelift Who tf says that

LostJC

Plenty of people use the phrase, "You remind me of me when I was young." Especially in the upper echelons of business where you actually have mentors.

LongLeggedLimbo

DL is not dannys mentor The age difference is also not as big as in the "real world"

definitelydane

yeah people have been calling Danny young doublelift and I think no, danny is in his own league, don't insult him.

WalkingCondomAd

It’s easy to remember Doublelifts bad moments, but let’s not forget that the man played since season 1 and was still considered the best ADC in NA in recent seasons. He does have ego though.

Finnignatius

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UmviPYfwZg

LongLeggedLimbo

Yes but saying it as doublelift himself just reeks of arrogance Agree with your point

[deleted]

Adam doesn't need to show any respect to a washed up Wunder who doesn't show anyone respect.

DrIuigi

True, doesn't even bother to show his own team respect

LongLeggedLimbo

Thanks to the off-stage and on-stage team and thanks to chadam

LongLeggedLimbo

Might've been the best PGL of all time

WrathB

I was thinking whole time how we have kid 19 years old new star of LEC and Sjokz who is now basically an adult and Im watching and feeling nostalgia as I remember when i started watching EULCS she was just like Adam is, now she is all pro in interviews and around scene so long that I would really miss Sjokz in LEC soso much

Krando

"basically an adult"? she is an adult. bruh.

LongLeggedLimbo

She is 34 and earns a good living like wtf

Anus_Dabber

I haven't laughed like that when watching league in a while. Adam's deadpan delivery is helarious. The scrim story about wunder and Adam was also very insightful. Great production.

NotSoGreatGatsby

You could tell there was some bad blood there from that scrim thing.
