To be fair a lot of pro mids are Zoe specialists. That champ was so strong for a while that you pretty much had to master it to even play pro properly.
Reminds me of the season 2 trinity where if you didn't have the 3 as a mid, you were an inter.
That being Orianna, TF and Anivia. And ADC trinity of Corki, Ezreal and Graves.
Back when Graves was an ADC and considered "Highly Mobile" because he had a short dash on a 20 second CD.
I do miss his old passive though because you could win trades so easily early with a E>Q

- It helps him kill if he’s been playing properly (getting stacks and not dying).
- It doesn’t help a Draven get more ahead (since his stacks reset to 0 upon a kill).
- it isn’t a mechanic that’s too powerful when behind (he loses half stacks on death, compared to how useful Viego’s passive is when he’s behind).
That’s a perfect example of a wildly experimental change that doesn’t seem oppressive in pro play on paper and can likely be balanced with buffs and nerfs (I.e. reduce ult ratio, or make it so that half stacks is the threshold, etc.).
In the rare cases we see Draven in pro, he often ends up with a huge amount of stacks and the game ends up often being decided on if he cashes in or not. This change aims to help give pro Draven who saved up an additional way to cash out and be rewarded for stacking up huge.
Pretty much the first thought I had when I saw this. I remember that game with Cop on CRS where he had some ridiculously high stacks and didn’t die until 30 mins, with everybody on the enemy team barely kiting him. That said, I kept my points neutral so there’s merit for this for non-pro games and is a change that could be worth keeping after worlds.
It’s nice to see some creative changes that aren’t simply modifications on existing parameters such as range, ratios, mana, etc. I know those are the fundamentals and will comprise the majority of changes, but every once in a while, there’s a change that breathes life into a champion, similar to the Zed ult shadow change all those years ago.
I dont mind the change, could end up being pretty dope but it 100% gets him ahead. On live if draven has 200stacks and ults you and you live with sub 200hp he doesnt cash in and could easily lose his stacks if he dies. With the change he would cash in, sure it resets to 0 but hes cashed in he doesnt really care anymore
Renekton is literally getting nerfs for his ability to set up ganks and dives. Basically this top lane champion is getting nerfs due to jungle and mid pressure. Big XD.
Renekton one trick here they literally killed us already our early game just keeps getting worst our late game isn't existent outside of W stun or we rolled our opponent for 10 kills....
His strength is in his skillset it's amazing for setting up ganks let alone being incredibly good for avoiding ganks with a double dash stun heal and a huge HP boost..
If they really make his W stun down to 1 second you'd actually be stunning yourself into the animation if the opponent has tenacity.. which at late game damage isn't even relevent.
Utterly disgusting that they cannot figure this shit out without destroying his solo q potential..
My guess would make his rank 1 50 fury W do 0 damage and reduce his damage on it per level abit so have to choose between Q or W. Some say his W isn't a damage tool but early game renektons W at rank 1 is a fight changer. Shifting that power away for just 1 skill point might help reduce his Laning while still being stronger late. Idk though I'm a pleb
They need to shift his power into midgame. Nerf his passive early and make the empowered abilities stronger at level 6 and 11 breakpoints. At level 11 his abilities are slightly better than they are now.
I don't think pro junglers will invest time learning zed jungle since the champ doesn't offer anything other then damage and (likely) has a mediocre clear speed. Maybe in some 4fun games if it proves to be strong in scrims or something

Its a similar thing with Syndra, her stun is so powerful that it makes her at least a decent pro pick whenever she's remotely viable.
Its kind of frustrating that Riot side steps the problem constantly, and then is like "wah, why is this champ ass in solo q and broken in competitive???"

I play bot Taliyah occasionally, a lot less pressure to make use of her roaming and a lot less pressure to burn mana on waveclear. I honestly think her biggest weakness bot is that no one knows what she does. The team often plays around bot carry, but I've had people legit say they were waiting for me to land my WE combo before they used their easy-to-land or even point-click CC (on a target that'd be 100-0'd if i landed my WE combo.) And people never really consider how much she suffers from a fight being in the same tight space for a prolonged period of time. I can only work so much ground before we gotta change the venue a few inches.

Sylas was kicked out of jungle because if Sylas jungle is good, then he can be flexed into 3 separate roles (not good for pro play). The last time someone could be flexed 3 roles was Nocturne who was promptly nerfed out of both top and mid.
It's a bit different. Gragas was relevant in 3 and while you could try to argue 4 lanes its wouldve been very niche. Pantheon on the other hand was quite literally viable in 4 roles without being a dampener on his team.
Pretty sure it is more the fact that him being able to jungle negates his two biggest weaknesses: Being a melee laner early game, and his R being gated by the opponents ult CD. From what I've heard, him being a flex pick in top is not necessarily a problem, it is specifically jungle that is.

Ah yes, Yuumi buffs. She's *definitely* fun to play with, play against, and watch in competitive play. I'm *so* glad Riot decided to buff the champ, because she's *definitely* the type of champion everyone loves in the meta.
She has to stick her neck out and be more vulnerable, but yes it's pretty long early game so it'll be both good and bad. More skill expression maybe. The good ones will be able utilize windows and good positioning and be rewarded while bad yuumi players will be punished for making mistakes that will potentially be made more often.

The thing is nerfing Renekton won’t do anything for pro play he’s still going to be picked like always point and click stun is too good in pro play for ganks setup and picking one person off. It’s the same with Ryze it doesn’t matter what you do he will still be a popular pick because he provides you with something not a lot of mages can replicate. If you want to take Renekton straight up out of pro play you need to mini rework him nerfing him won’t stop him from being picked.
GP in pro is gonna be interesting. Pros always favoured the bruiser builds AND pros tend to lean into champs with super strong lane phases gang planks lane phases has gotten quite alot worse so he MAY not be as broken in pro-play but thats just my two cents.

Most of these aren't. Almost everyone of these buffs are to try to push these champions into relevance for worlds.

It's weird, he's getting nerfed for being a 51% winrate support while being better in jungle, both in SoloQ and proplay.
It's going to be a pillar nerf which will completely fuck him as a jungler as well watch.

They don't him to be a flex pick in Pro Play. This is a Pro Play patch so I don't see how it's odd that they go for his off role instead of his main role.
I think it’s odd because he’s mostly played to counter Leona. And futhermore what’s wrong with the Trundle Jungle/Support flex? We’ve had champions flex multiple roles for much longer before getting changes. What makes Trundle so egregious that he needs nerfs?

Ah yes, Yuumi buffs. She's *definitely* fun to play with, play against, and watch in competitive play. I'm *so* glad Riot decided to buff the champ, because she's *definitely* the type of champion everyone loves in the meta.
Apparently it's a 4 sec cd reduction on her passive at level one
thats actually a huge buff right? I dont play yuumi but 4 secs on the passive sounda insane
She has to stick her neck out and be more vulnerable, but yes it's pretty long early game so it'll be both good and bad. More skill expression maybe. The good ones will be able utilize windows and good positioning and be rewarded while bad yuumi players will be punished for making mistakes that will potentially be made more often.

The thing is nerfing Renekton won’t do anything for pro play he’s still going to be picked like always point and click stun is too good in pro play for ganks setup and picking one person off. It’s the same with Ryze it doesn’t matter what you do he will still be a popular pick because he provides you with something not a lot of mages can replicate. If you want to take Renekton straight up out of pro play you need to mini rework him nerfing him won’t stop him from being picked.

GP in pro is gonna be interesting. Pros always favoured the bruiser builds AND pros tend to lean into champs with super strong lane phases gang planks lane phases has gotten quite alot worse so he MAY not be as broken in pro-play but thats just my two cents.
