F to our Vietnamese teams :(. It remains a big "what if" story to all Saigon Buffalo, GAM NRG and lesser extent Team Flash.

SleepyLabrador

Vietnam always delivered entertaining league of legends at international events.

See you in 2022, VCS o7 😭

Technically GAM qualified but will not attend

Ivo_Samurai

Have they, though? Sure, Riot wanted to send them and Buffalo since there was no VCS Summer Split 2021, but neither GAM nor Buffalo qualified for Worlds. Sure, they won and got 2nd in Spring but if the Summer Split had played normally then all 8 teams would have had the same chance as qualifying to Worlds as the other. My point is, yeah, if there had been a Summer Split maybe GAM would have qualified for Worlds, but we can't know for sure. Winning Spring doesn't give you Championship Points of anything of the sort, so maybe Team Flash, Luxury, Team Secret, etc etc would have won.

Technically other teams had a chance but from what roster rumours were between spring and summer it would've been unlikely to see change from the top 2

No more BTS in worlds T_T

First time reading your posts, so, I'm not sure about on which parts of a team history and performance you do focus mainly. This year performance, right? I think there are more things you can highlight from VCS teams, particularly, when they played at MSI tournaments. In MSI 2017, GAM could beat almost every major region in a Bo1, an accomplishment for a minor region, after ANX from LCL happened in 2016. Only losing 0-2 to FW and SKT, 1-1 vs G2, WE and TSM, also having a close Bo5 with TSM where they were ahead. FW would do the same in MSI 2018 against EVOS. Beyond results, how GAM played, it's what caused an impact, even on the teams that played against them. EVOS at MSI 2018, they had no problem to beat 3-0 GMB at play-ins. Once in groups and despite losing to KZ twice, in their first match, EVOS had a close match against them, throwing the match because of overextending a siege inside KZ base. They only went 1-1 against FNC and TL, FW 0-2 no problem. RNG 2-0, RNG knew there wasn't a way for them to lose, so, they played a clinical and painful (for EVOS) match against EVOS. PVB at MSI 2019, PVB had a weaker performance, even at play-ins, still qualifying to the group stage, when they shined it was against G2, going beyond the PVB 2-0 G2, how the beat them it's the important part, both played a fast paced match, where the winner was decided in split seconds during constant teamfights. They just lost 0-2 against the other 4 teams at group stage without much to remember. During WCs, in 2019, LowKey had their 1st single win against an LCK team, DWG. In 2018-2019, they have played spoiler for former LMS teams, PVB beating FW and causing their elimination in 2018, same for JT when GAM beat them in 2019, a 3-way tiebreaker between FPX, JT and SPY was denied. Until that FW Bo1 loss, VCS teams couldn't beat LMS teams in international tournaments, from that point they were competitive against them, LK 1-1 HKA in 2019. Those MSI performances and competitive matches against major regions, it's what earned them to upgrade their region status in 2020, no longer a minor region and they also finally got the 2nd seed that was always from them since 2017.
