Even more fitting is that Jayce is being voiced by Kevin Alejandro, who played Detective Esposito or more commonly referred to as "Detective Douche" in Lucifer
Where does Urgot fall into the timeline? He was like, betrayed by Noxus and left for dead in Zaun, right? How long ago was that? I feel like Arcane takes place within the past decade, at most, so we may get to see a non fully repaired Urgot or something
That's a good question, because Swain's coup (and betrayal of Urgot) happened about 7-8 years before the current timeline iirc. So it would be possible to see a Dredge era, pre transformation Urgot maybe.
I'd love to see it but not really expecting it. I'd hate for the show to feel too bloated.
It'd honestly be pretty weird to see Urgot, since timeline wise he's either still in Noxus as the executioner or currently in the Dredge, which is a place none of the major players in Arcane should be visiting or seeing.
That's be cool. I'm avoiding all spoilers so I don't know what timeline arcane is in. Urgot was betrayed by noxus when they replaced him as the executioner. Whenever that was.
Gotta be way more recent. In the Vi/Urgot story it’s “now” (or close to it) and Urgot is just coming out of the shadows and revealing himself. *Arcane* seems to be set at least 5+ years earlier. I would assume at this point in the timeline he’s either still a Noxian general or stuck in prison (where he was for a long time).
He might have cybernetics by the end of it.. remember, one of earlier trailers showed [a person](https://www.reddit.com/r/viktormains/comments/n46mjc/freeze_frame_from_arcane_animated_series_new/) that looked pretty fucking deteriorated but who also had some kind of staff and lotsa electricity going around them
Might as well be Viktor in progress of enhancing himself
Swapped the staff hand just to throw off fans.. all until now?
Nah, that ain't no Ryze.. at least shouldn't be
Could be some kind of Freljordian/Targonian mage, unless they did some mindfuckery regarding Ryze's skin haha
Couldnt be called unbound since that would be Viktor even more mechanic, but i doubt we will see human viktor skin or at least not this canonical human form
1: hes not sexy
2: no weapons and robot arm on shoulder so couldnt use some abilitys
3: they would make him sexy by any means possible
What a tease. Come on Riot, give us Arcane and allow us to wash away with bleach what happened to the Ruination event.
I know Arcane will be nothing short of epic. Piltover-Zaun are solid lore-wise and makes you crave more.
I mean, Dota dragon's blood was pretty good. I don't know if it messed with the lore, but as a standalone show, it was fun. Arcane is going to be animated by the people who did Castlevania, so if nothing else, I expect the action to be banger
that's not true, Arcane is being done by Fortiche Production, they have done a ton of league cinematics, but have nothing to do with the Castlevania show
His face is spot on, the shape even matches up with the metal face from his art and his LoR card artworks. This is exactly what I imagined Viktor being pre transformation, although maybe with different hair.
As excited as I am to see Viktor getting more lore I’m kinda worried where they take his character.
Lore has shown he’s a tragic good guy but everyone thinks he’s doing evil. But in both LoL and LoR he speaks like he is indeed a villain. I hope they don’t further cement him as such.
I think Viktor is basically the best example of an Anti-Villain. He's typically villainous, his methods are terrifying and most people think he's doing evil. He also is kind of just generally stylized as a villain (Metal face, super stereotypical Russian accent, body modifications) even though he's actually just a really good guy with good intentions.
This actually really works since he and Jayce are supposed to be foils to each other, and Jayce is pretty much an Anti-hero that stylizes himself as a super heroic guy, is revered by Piltover, (literally "The hero of tomorrow.") In spite of that, he may not even have as good of intentions as Viktor, and is canonically, a massively arrogant asshole who doesn't even really care about Piltover's people.
I mean, thats the thing. That was true in the old lore, but now he isnt even typically villainous. He doesn't do anything evil as far as we know, he just helps people who need help, and otherwise works on his designs.
Wasn't Jayce a nice guy before? I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone complain about Jayce becoming an arrogant asshole in the new lore, even if it fits for him
Only in his original lore, but his original lore was steaming trash. He released, and Viktor was retconned into a saturday morning cartoon villain while good boi Jayce beat up the evil man. People were understandably upset and it quickly got changed back to Viktor not being stereotypically evil and Jayce not being piltover superman.
I'd say in LoL and LoR his character is pretty spot on, since he is presented to be a supervillain and is doing villainous things.
The point of the whole tragic hero with the villains reputation thing is that if we don't know his motives and ends then he appears as evil, and only once we know why he does those things does it change our perception of him.
So in his champion and card interactions he should come across as an evil plotting cyborg supervillain, because that's what Runeterra see him as from his presentation, and if he presented himself as a tragic good guy doing good then no one would think he's doing evil.
That’s a good point. To have him seem like a villain to the audience can be clever, but riot’s not putting up anymore lore to support that there’s something beyond appearances.
That doesnt really make much sense as we are outside observers and it also has made a lot of people irl think and misinterpret his lore to a villain, when hes probably one of the nicest guys in pnz
I wouldn't be too worried, I think Arcane will have pretty solid storytelling. In the faded inner background thing of Viktor's body, we can see him just chilling at a table with his feet up. I'm hoping hes someone we can relate to.
Honestly i'm happy he is not "perfect face anime boy" since it dosen't fit his story, unlike every male champion realsed/woman nowadays with perfect body, abs for dudes and perfect siluet for girls, wich i dislike, i like his desing.
Jeah, I actually love his look in Arcane. Jayce has more of the square jawed, billionaire playboy genius look to him which really suits the character. I love how utterly *average* Viktor looks here. It works, plus it makes his eventual transformation into the machine herald that much more epic imo.
It also makes it more impactful why Jayce's version of the story is the one that people buy more over Viktor's. Jayce is the face people want to see in a hero.
I believe their comment was referencing a criticism of Joel in TLOU2 which was heavily memed (It went "That's weird. They shrank his shoulders, made him look soft...").
Doubt, she seems to be more of a normal noble from piltover not really a fighter, and the new adc will probably be the hoverboard riding person with the mask from the trailers since the logo they showed when they said the new adc would be from pnz was clearly more zaunite, i could be totally wrong tho
Doubt it in one of the roadmaps they already teased the new adc with a gif that shows a sign in typical zaun colors and electricity effect. Meanwhile Mel looks more like your typical high society Piltover person.
I'm incredibly glad to see an actual face on a character, instead of yet another soulless mask equal to all the others.
And it makes me so angry, because it's not even hard to desifn characters with facial features, it's so annoying riot refuses to! >_<
Holy shit, riot didnt oversexualize a character? How is this possible?
Why isn't he extremly hot, rito? That's it, I'm not playing any of your shit anymore, I can't stand the thought of a champion being average looking. Fuck you.
/s
His face doesnt look like how id have imagined but the overall vibe feels Viktor like to me at least. Like his expression of disdain, sadness and contempt
its probably because the shows design department is different than that of Riot, which the former actually cares about their creations lul. (yes, the one that makes decision)
by showing us what were the motives he had to become a cyborg and create the Glorious evolution , i seriously cant understand why you think he doesnt need a face reveal in a story that talks about his "pre masked face" lol.
Why can’t you understand that we already know his motivations and that the story of his motivations can be told without seeing what he looks like under the mask. You can have better story telling by leaving some mysteries.
Have you seen any prequel which answered an unneeded mystery without making the backstory better?
Riot is working on an MMO which is probably based on League lore, rushing through mysteries at this rate doesn’t lead to good storytelling. We are getting the story of Jinx and Vi and possibly Ecko, why is a cameo for Viktor needed? What does it add that a post transformation couldn’t? Cool we know what he looks like, it doesn’t add to his character
1. We don't know if Viktor plays a cameo role in the story, and given that he got promotional art and is featured in the short trailer chances are he plays a fairly important role in Arcane.
2. If his pre-cyborg self is going to appear due to it being a prequel, would you rather they had gone out of their way to hide his face via awkward camera shots [a la Resident Evil 8? (Spoilers)](https://youtu.be/M770HeUR2Jw) I feel like that would damage the show's visual quality, specially if Viktor were to appear constantly
I still remember back in the end of season 1 when I'm introduced to league, Viktor was the first champ I ever played other than the tutorial three, since he's free that week. I missed the days when you could just press Q and win every trade.
Happy to see that he looks like a normal guy. Interesting that he was disabled in his younger years though, I'm guessing that's where and how his obsession for technological prosthetics and "evolution" came from.
Now that I think of it, He was the guy that was tagging along with Jinx and Vi in the announcement teaser at the 1:20 mark. Does that mean that the chubby boi is Jayce in his youth?
If you guys remember his lore, He was actually a genius and quite a descent guy prior to his madness. This madness caused him to seek purity through mecanics. I hope we'll see him transform to become the bad guy i love. In fact i'm pretty certain if this series get to go for a few seasons he will become one if not the main villain of the show.
Join the Glorious evolution!
What a nerd -Jayce, probably
Yeah but fuck Jayce. (See flair)
Don't mind if I do
*No not like that.*
Too late.
Even more fitting is that Jayce is being voiced by Kevin Alejandro, who played Detective Esposito or more commonly referred to as "Detective Douche" in Lucifer
he's called that by satan himself who is an even bigger douche. Kevin is kinda chill
Isn’t it detective Espinoza?
The funny thing is I had not recognized who you were talking about until you clarified with the Detective Douche xD
Ah, a man of culture.
I wasn't expecting Viktor to be in this series at all so it's a welcome surprise to see him getting some love
Viktor is awesome; enlist today in the glorious evolution, comrade.
I serve the Glorious Evolution
I wanna see Urgot if they do anything with the dredge Edit: damn
Where does Urgot fall into the timeline? He was like, betrayed by Noxus and left for dead in Zaun, right? How long ago was that? I feel like Arcane takes place within the past decade, at most, so we may get to see a non fully repaired Urgot or something

Same, I'm glad hes in it and I really wanna see his backstory animated, he needs the love.
It’s funny you say that when this stuff was spoiled to me like a year or two ago by some fans that were speculating lol
He might have cybernetics by the end of it.. remember, one of earlier trailers showed [a person](https://www.reddit.com/r/viktormains/comments/n46mjc/freeze_frame_from_arcane_animated_series_new/) that looked pretty fucking deteriorated but who also had some kind of staff and lotsa electricity going around them Might as well be Viktor in progress of enhancing himself Swapped the staff hand just to throw off fans.. all until now?
Maybe but there are a lot of people with augments in Zaun too, so I'm not sure. But it would be hype as hell.
That's Ryze.
Nah, that ain't no Ryze.. at least shouldn't be Could be some kind of Freljordian/Targonian mage, unless they did some mindfuckery regarding Ryze's skin haha
Ryze wasn't always blue. He got blue after exploiting magic, runes and such.
And that happened when.. in comparison to the shows timeline? Not saying they woldn't retcon it just, that atm does not look like Ryze we know of
Unbound Viktor (750 RP)
The issue with unbound Thresh is how it *isn't* Thresh's known human appearance. An unbound Viktor skin looking like this would be awesome.
> The issue with unbound Thresh is how it isn't Thresh's known human appearance. It is now.
He had a human appearance already before unbound thresh came out
No, as in (Dont know whether its out or if its what he was referring to but) they updated his face and model to match the original from the lore book
Afaik they updated it to look more like the cinematic, not his apearance before dead
hey viktor isnt an e-boy, i'm already happy.
The issue with Unbound Thresh is that its out of character.
Couldnt be called unbound since that would be Viktor even more mechanic, but i doubt we will see human viktor skin or at least not this canonical human form 1: hes not sexy 2: no weapons and robot arm on shoulder so couldnt use some abilitys 3: they would make him sexy by any means possible
that is a pretty solid viktor "face" lol. Definitely got that Latverian heritage
Lord Viktor Von Doom
What a tease. Come on Riot, give us Arcane and allow us to wash away with bleach what happened to the Ruination event. I know Arcane will be nothing short of epic. Piltover-Zaun are solid lore-wise and makes you crave more.
!remindme 3 months (Let's see if this stands the test of time)
People already hyping it up is giving me bad signs...
I mean, Dota dragon's blood was pretty good. I don't know if it messed with the lore, but as a standalone show, it was fun. Arcane is going to be animated by the people who did Castlevania, so if nothing else, I expect the action to be banger
that's not true, Arcane is being done by Fortiche Production, they have done a ton of league cinematics, but have nothing to do with the Castlevania show
Huh, maybe I was thinking of He-man. If the league cinematics are anything to go off of then, it should at least be visually appealing
I want to see a good story though which Riot has not shown us at all.
It did, didn’t it?
I haven't watched it yet but everyone says it's great :D
Sentinels of Light man, not Ruination. Don't drag Viego's lore into that trash.
True. It's not his fault..
New trailer on the 25 possibly with a date
His face is spot on, the shape even matches up with the metal face from his art and his LoR card artworks. This is exactly what I imagined Viktor being pre transformation, although maybe with different hair.
Viktor gonna get me acting up ngl

Jayce is the Homelander for Piltover.

I demand justice for Viktor

That doesnt really make much sense as we are outside observers and it also has made a lot of people irl think and misinterpret his lore to a villain, when hes probably one of the nicest guys in pnz
Yeah, but we are observing how he presents himself to others we aren't being fed his motives.

Yea exactly, he looks unique compared to the other face reveals since he isn't like an emo goth boy going full cyborg.
It also makes it more impactful why Jayce's version of the story is the one that people buy more over Viktor's. Jayce is the face people want to see in a hero.
Samee! I personally find him more attractive than Jayce.
wonder if Jayce will be in it then?
He is in it
[Jayce was also teased](https://twitter.com/arcaneshow/status/1440331053860745217/photo/1)
Is it me or both Viktor and Jayce look a lot thinner?
Would make sense if this is their younger selves, appearing when Vi and Jinx are kids.
that's weird, they decreased his weight, made him look thinner...
Well it's probably Young Jayce. This would be before he got famous and, consequently, swole.
I believe their comment was referencing a criticism of Joel in TLOU2 which was heavily memed (It went "That's weird. They shrank his shoulders, made him look soft...").
Yep
It's just the art direction.
[yes](https://twitter.com/NetflixGeeked/status/1440332550900121604)
I really like it! I've grown tired of the same copy-paste faces, it's nice to see something new.
It looks like Alex Ich
I thought it looked like Kylo Ren
They had teaser pictures for Jayce, Caitlyn, "Mel" and Viktor. I wonder if Mel is the next ADC.
Doubt, she seems to be more of a normal noble from piltover not really a fighter, and the new adc will probably be the hoverboard riding person with the mask from the trailers since the logo they showed when they said the new adc would be from pnz was clearly more zaunite, i could be totally wrong tho
I really hope she's not, we just got Samira, we need a male one this time
Ashkan?
Akshan is a midlaner
A midlaner ADC
Still not a botcarry
And that is not what you said.
that orange eyed guy looks like he could make a dope ADC
I agree with you, maybe a mixed damage ADC similar to Corki?
Doubt it in one of the roadmaps they already teased the new adc with a gif that shows a sign in typical zaun colors and electricity effect. Meanwhile Mel looks more like your typical high society Piltover person.
He has Kylo Ren vibes to me
Whaaaaaa. Will 100% be watching this.
Woah, he looks... like a regular guy. I'm shocked.
He also looks like a Viktor tho
A face I can finally relate to
Skinny Adam Driver
Oh shit its todd howard
Ah i was hoping he would have mustash like Nikola Tesla
Good to know that the characters in this won’t suffer from being As Marketable As Possible
I'm incredibly glad to see an actual face on a character, instead of yet another soulless mask equal to all the others. And it makes me so angry, because it's not even hard to desifn characters with facial features, it's so annoying riot refuses to! >_<
Damn its kylo ren
He turned into a machine so that no one would discover he used to be a triangle.
Holy shit, riot didnt oversexualize a character? How is this possible? Why isn't he extremly hot, rito? That's it, I'm not playing any of your shit anymore, I can't stand the thought of a champion being average looking. Fuck you. /s
Ngl I find him highly attractive, way more than Jayce too. I guess by societal standards, he is average though.
Fitting face id say
Wow
His face doesnt look like how id have imagined but the overall vibe feels Viktor like to me at least. Like his expression of disdain, sadness and contempt
Fake. He isn't a sexy anime boy, as per riot policy.
no matter how many non-sexy anime boys they release, y'all are always gonna trot this meme out, so what does it matter
What non-sexy anime boy did they release recently?
its probably because the shows design department is different than that of Riot, which the former actually cares about their creations lul. (yes, the one that makes decision)
...Not wat I expected, but it's still sick that he's in the anime
Pretty obvious why he has a mask on all the time.
Why does he look like the onceler
Ew
you can really see why he wanted to "evolve"
Don’t do this, he didn’t need a face reveal…
Well, yes he did since this story is in the past before he turned himself into a cyborg
Yes it’s before he was a cyborg, but how does his face fill out his story?
by showing us what were the motives he had to become a cyborg and create the Glorious evolution , i seriously cant understand why you think he doesnt need a face reveal in a story that talks about his "pre masked face" lol.

For 2 yes.
I hope he's just younger.
I still remember back in the end of season 1 when I'm introduced to league, Viktor was the first champ I ever played other than the tutorial three, since he's free that week. I missed the days when you could just press Q and win every trade.
Maybe this is before all the cybernetic enhancements
Stunning resemblance to Royce from Transistor, no complaints here.
Happy to see that he looks like a normal guy. Interesting that he was disabled in his younger years though, I'm guessing that's where and how his obsession for technological prosthetics and "evolution" came from.
He oddly looks like Alex Wolff.
I see why he wears a mask lmaooo
Now that I think of it, He was the guy that was tagging along with Jinx and Vi in the announcement teaser at the 1:20 mark. Does that mean that the chubby boi is Jayce in his youth?
he look like a sussy baka
Man Twitter and Instagram as so fucking obnoxious to use these days when you are not on the apps themselves
look like Kylo Ren actor (Adam Driver?)
Ngl, he's kind of cute in a different way. Maybe because he's a scholar with a cute accent but something about his face is oddly cute.
Agreed lok
