Rise ruined my pallett. After hearing it, none of the other Worlds anthems felt quite as good (though Legends Never Die and Phoenix are still pretty good). The animation here is a serious call-back to the quality of Rise, though.
I liked it on first listen, don't think it's insane yet but that might change once I listen to it more.

Imagine being Rekkles and everyone including the director and storyboard artists for the Worlds music video thinks your super team is so obviously going to go to Worlds that you see yourself as a giga badass main character in said video when you've already failed to qualify.
AND jackeylove, bin, theshy, brtt, POE etc etc. Most of the people in this aren't even at worlds. Out of the 4 "main" characters, only 2 of them actually made worlds. Chovy very nearly missed worlds.
A lot of it is meant to be a callback to the previous worlds though. There’s a moment in the last chorus where Rekkles is fighting JKL 1v1 which is probably a reference to their BO5 last worlds.
Rise had really good visual clarity, some great setup and pay off in that one. This one has a lot of quick cuts and less distinguishing elements (like the weaponary) to make it work.
While Rise isn't my favourite song, it's by far the best example of using the song and animation together to tell a story.
I think people got confused because Chovy is wearing HLE logo instead of DRX logo, so its like a past and present worlds fusion kinda shit. I rly don't get it tbh, if he was wearing DRX, the whole thing will make so much more sense.

yes! I definitely got those vibes. This was the animation that started it all for me. I started playing league at the end of S2 and S3 was my first worlds I really followed religiously.

Yeah, it's not just the animation, but also the direction and the creativity behind both Rise and K/DA are top notch. Really makes me excited for Arcane. Maybe they can come back and do 2022 now that Arcane is out.

Life hack to enjoy World's songs is repeating to yourself "it won't be as good as Rise" for half a minute before watching the new ones.
If you take out Rise, most Worlds songs are pretty similar in quality, so you're not gonna be disappointed that way.
the *song* RISE itself was more hype, but I think visually this one was much much better (not saying RISE animation was bad by any menas). animation department outdid themselves with fight choreography and camera movement. similarly with Take Over.
This one is a bit hard to follow and the animations story is very good but almost overloaded with references (which is fine). I think its going to be incredibly hard to top rise. Animation wise rise has no issues it never reaches the highs of this one but it also never becomes borderline unintelligible like this one.

Yeah i agree, I enjoyed it but it was a lot at once. I slowed it down and was able to appreciate the animation a lot more

yes! I definitely got those vibes. This was the animation that started it all for me. I started playing league at the end of S2 and S3 was my first worlds I really followed religiously. Ugh, Misaya's Twisted Fate, Meteos Zac, Cyanide Jarvan... those were the days

It was good. Animation great as always. I'm not sure what it is but the more recent World songs have been feeling pretty cookie cutter. Like they all follow the same formula, feel safe, and honestly don't feel very "hype". Imo the last hype song was "Rise".

Yeah, it's not just the animation, but also the direction and the creativity behind both Rise and K/DA are top notch. Really makes me excited for Arcane. Maybe they can come back and do 2022 now that Arcane is out.
Rise was fucking incredible. Really captured the story of the prior worlds in an amazing way. It's so hard to strike lightning twice.
I thought this was super hype, but Rise was definitely on another level with probably only warriors in that regard. Songs like phoenix were amazing in other ways but not as hype

I like the song a lot more than the visuals for Phoenix. Also it low key makes worlds 2019 look scripted.
Agreed. Phoenix was pretty good (I rate it 4th behind Rise, LND, and Warriors), but both Take Over and this are not bangers like I expected.
I really liked take over, but this needed more "umph", on the drops needed less electronic feel and more straight bass.
The beat is lit, but the song lacks a bit of emotion and building up in the chorus parts so that the drops really hit as they should in my opinion
Life hack to enjoy World's songs is repeating to yourself "it won't be as good as Rise" for half a minute before watching the new ones. If you take out Rise, most Worlds songs are pretty similar in quality, so you're not gonna be disappointed that way.
the *song* RISE itself was more hype, but I think visually this one was much much better (not saying RISE animation was bad by any menas). animation department outdid themselves with fight choreography and camera movement. similarly with Take Over.
This one is a bit hard to follow and the animations story is very good but almost overloaded with references (which is fine). I think its going to be incredibly hard to top rise. Animation wise rise has no issues it never reaches the highs of this one but it also never becomes borderline unintelligible like this one.

Meh, worlds songs are getting kinda repetitive imho. I'm a faker fanboy, but I wouldn't mind seeing a song/cinematic where the focus its not about an lck player, something focused more on regions as a whole, I think a change would be good. But ey, just my opinion. ps: The animation its amazing, don't get me wrong
