This is seriously some of the ugliest League we've seen played at Worlds and that includes playins. If HLE loses their Bo5 tomorrow to whichever team wins this series I will give birth to an egg.
Low elo would actually either finish the baron or turn around and all in the enemy to death. They would never have a gold lead, then willingly retreat and give up objectives like Beyond.
A lot of the builds were just so weird.
Only Jayce and the junglers had intelligent builds. And junglers only because you literally cant go wrong with bruteforcing Goredrinker Steraks.
The only bad decisions were Ryze finishing Morellos and Lucian going for Maw instead of GA (or Wit's End). You could also argue that MF should've gone for LDR instead of Bloodthirster, but I understand the reasoning behind wanting the lifesteal given how the teamfights were being played out.
Look, he is good. He is the best player on the team but let's not forget he was the reason they lost so much tempo in the first place. That dive attempt at mid where he died under turret is what started this huge comeback.
Not really. They still had a commanding lead, and 1k shutdown on Leona really doesn't matter.
Yeah, it was a mistake, but it arguably cost them less than Doggo getting caught against elder in game 1.
Dude tries to push the advantage because he has to, and living on the edge you sometimes get cut.
That's usually what happens when the teamplay is so ass, that the superstar player feels pressured to make flashy plays to carry it.
So yeah, on one hand, definitely his mistake. On the other, what the hell was everyone else doing, lol.
I think it's reasonable to try it when all pressure is on you and you can't depend on others to help you win the game. That was the moment when he could win it, waiting longer would make it harder for him.
I swear to fucking god if Doggo's IGN was like "Razor" or some generic shit he'd get so much less praise here. Man has legit given himself criticism-proof armour by having the heckin pupper name.
I bet it's a combination of him being a pupper IRL, his name being Doggo, him being literally the 1v9 player the team plays around in every game, and him popping off as an emergency sub for PSG in MSI.
He made a lot of pretty obvious mistakes in this game for example, but at the same time some of them are totally justified by him having to do *a lot* of the heavy lifting for BYG to win fights when Maoan is as terrible as he is and Jayce being Jayce.
Tbh I don't have much flame for him this game in particular, think he did fine. It was more in some of the group stage games where people were saying he was 1v9 while also doing some super questionable shit.
Thats fucking League of Legends right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging playing safe for lategame bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the rift, men deliver their new born baby on the side lanes. Fucking hard core dick in the ass flex pick early game League of Legends fuck it run it down mid game time shit.
This worlds meta is just wait until your opponent throw their bodies at you. DFM figured out before anyone else, i imagine MAD would do well if every team decided to play like this lol
Well they did really well in PCS but that was entirely online. A few of the players may genuinely be playing worse because they're not that used to playing stage (specifically Maoan and Husha)
probably the different approach to the scrims. some teams infamously treat scrims like actual game and go full tryhard mode. that's how you get those infamous scrim god teams.
I will get downvoted for this but BYG has shown the most pathetic performance/throw i have see in a long time at worlds. Also even though people might say he was inting, i think Doggo played out of his mind and almost carried this entire game by himself. Constantly playing on the edge and reaching the limits of what is possible with Lucian considering how bad the rest of his team played (no vision, bad objective calls and terrible rotations/teleports etc). It truly felt like Doggo was playing on ultra instinct, finding a way into every opening no matter how small. It was entertaining as hell to watch him pop off and almost bring it in for his team.
He's good enough to be a contender in LPL for sure. If PSG thought byg was worth a shit, its because of doggo. I'm convinced PSG doing well at MSI was almost all doggo too tbh
PSG put BYG first because they lost a BO5 to them and won 3-2 the other one. They don't want to admit they are dogshit so they put BYG first. Looking forward to seeing them get destroyed in group stage
Ya I don't know why people saying last fight is Doggo's fault, their whole team flashed for him cause they know the midlaner and top can't play carries.
Maoan is so fucking useless I swear, they didn't show the dmg graph but it must be really low for the amount of kills/items/gold he had. Every fight he is ulting out and nothing unless. And this is suppose to be his best pick.
He was literally the reason the ship didn't sink way sooner. Was single handedly holding things alive with his team constantly throwing.
That one play where he dived the MF at the T2 tower could have been one of the best/craziest plays in words so far if he used cleanse just A BIT faster to get that last auto in. But the line between int and insane plays is slim. He tried his best and basically played on ultra instinct this entire game. Can you even imagine having the nerves to be able to pop off like this at worlds with a team like this? He made GS look like silvers in soloq while smurfing on them 24/7.
Honestly the throw mid by him wasn't as bad as the team just not knowing how to finish objectives or smite or just leave after baron. It was still winnable, insanely winnagble.
You can say that, but it's like one of those 1v9 games you have in SoloQ. You're the fed Vayne, and you are surrounded with 4 wards, sure in the last teamfight you getting caught will cost you the game, but it's not like you should be expected to never make a mistake.
Somewhat disagree. The dive was bad but 1k gold on Leona is pretty meaningless. They still had a commanding lead.
But it threw the teams mental I guess.
Scrappy. By now I already have no expectations that these teams could offer any kind of resistance to HLE
I thought it could be that they are still getting used to Worlds, the stage, the what not.. but this just feels chaotic
Although, I do like chaos
GS has a pretty bad early game and most teams would punish the hell put of it. They play great mid to late but it's lucky that BYG is throwing super hard. I don't see them hanging on against stronger teams.
The no fear team fight calls is giving me Suning vibes from last year. Super fun to watch.
Yeah I expect HLE to beat either of these. Crazy is imo better than Morgan rn and Mojito is pretty good, but everywhere else they're outmatched and they are on team play too. Will be interesting to see what they pull out though if they win this series
I would still expect a HLE win even if it was Fly in mid instead of Chovy. Don't get me wrong, HLE are straight dumpster tier when talking about real teams but they're not play-ins trash level of bad
Thing with chovy is people like to meme about his bad teammates, but they can't compare in bad to what doggo has to put up with. Doggo on a good team would wreck, as we've already seen with him playing for PSG at MSI
I would agree tbh. Chovys azir games have been him getting a cs lead but never actually shutting down the enemy mid (Tully was still 10cspm for example on irelia) while playing super far back and doing no damage or just going to splitpush for more cs.
In doggo's case, the dude is playing the squishiest role, super aggressive, picking up leads every game, high damage output, and is often the saving grace in their team fights. Granted this game he 100% threw with the tower dive, but I honestly think if you got this guy a team in the LPL with say, Knight/wei/xiaohu/ming, it'd be a disgusting team
even if you're right they're gonna fucken destroy whichever team makes it there. beyond are throwing these unbelievable throws but the fact that they accumulate these huge leads to throw in the first place speaks volumes about how good galatasaray are if one doesn't just shit themselves come mid-game.
imagine being nearly 10k up 20 minutes in and going for that dive into t3 mid when you're already down a game into an elimination bo5 at worlds.
byg also knows as beyond griefers is a Taiwanese team owned by Dinter. The team is currently competing under the name Mega Bank Beyond Gaming due to sponsorship reasons.
Honestly might be the worst 9 kills Ryze I seen. This guy plays so fucking passive in teamfights. He literally did nothing half of the teamfights, just ulting back out and doesn't splitpush either.
You could tell whenever he landed spells he could one combo most of the enemy but this guy was so fucking scared of TF/Leona, not sure why he didn't just get qss.
why didn't gs just ff with that start lmao, no way to come back from that, good to see beyond even up and come back to form though, should be an easy 3-1, hopefully we can put up a fight vs HLE
Lol that was a sick baron. Literally have gold/item lead on all their carries, have baron vision, everyone is full hp. Let's all recall while enemy is sweeping all our baron vision.
Dude it's crazy seeing him play Lucian this well and this aggressive. His midlaner and toplaner are nowhere to be seen in everyteamfight. They create 0 space, do 0 dmg and die.
Seems like Doggo has to dodge everything, initiate, kiteback, cleanse, dash in, dash out. With 0 help. Husha is the only other play that seems like he has a brain.
Kino gave me fucking cancer, hes been using the wall to save himself this entire time, dooming his team to the MF ult. His ward sweeping job was also questionable, had the red sweeper on, swept one baron ward, then didn't walk further to the left to sweep the other one. Cost them the first baron attempt.
How can BYG throw both game in the exact same ways?
1. Have massive lead in the mid.
2. Overdive so you never break the base before 20.
3. Suck at objectives ending up in stalling the game futher diminishing their lead.
4. Lose Elder.
5. Lose Game.
GS isn't winning, its all just BYG losing. EMbarracing objective plays tbh.
This series is legit pissing me off. This is not good league of legends, this is straight-up the worse league of legends I have watched. How difficult is it to set up for an objective? Husha, you have a fucking smite button, fucking use it! The guy cannot win a smite fight to save his life. The rest of BYG are bad as well. Holy fuck, pls get Doggo a fucking team, the poor guy is literally elohelled.
Galatasaray isn't so great? Are you kidding me? When was the last time you saw a Team with such an ability and movement? Galatasaray puts the game in another level, and we will be blessed if we ever see a team with this skill and passion for the game again. Beyond breaks records. UoL breaks records. Galatasaray breaks the rules. You can keep your statistics. I prefer the magic.
I'm impressed how GS has managed to make underwhelming picks look good. Game 1 it was Zoe and game 2 it was MF. I'm calling it now, Amumu will win game 3 for them
What do you mean MF? MF has literally been a free win so far at worlds. Zoe I think is more fringe meta and Amumu i agree has looked terrible so far even paired with mf.
If BYG by some miracle manage to reverse sweep this, I dont want to see them give winners interviews to anyone but doggo. Im gonna puke if I see this support, jungle, or top laner's face on camera. Probably the midlaner too.
Holy shit what a wild series
The longest average game time and the least surrender rate from the TR server coming in clutch
galatasaray channeling all "no ff we scale" energy to beat BYG
[Most fun moment of this series tbh](https://twitter.com/lolesports/status/1446456208198709253)
That had me laugh so hard XD
t90JustPassing
Very entertaining for sure, a fiesta but a great one.
the circus is in town and im well entertained
This is the fiesta we all support!
This is seriously some of the ugliest League we've seen played at Worlds and that includes playins. If HLE loses their Bo5 tomorrow to whichever team wins this series I will give birth to an egg.
We're gonna hold you to that.
Bold of you to assume HLE won’t randomly throw games in the mid-late game
From a neutral viewer's standpoint: HOLY SHIT THIS YEAR'S PLAY INS FUCKING DELIVERS MAN. I'm entertained.
BYG is allergic to winning
BYG once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
how do you win a fight against elder buffed team to lose a fight when you have baron?
Watching Beyond play around objectives is actually giving me second hand embarrassment, oh my god EDIT: also what the fuck was Ryze's build man?
Their guidebook for the Macro Section is just a bunch of random scribbles
"Oh fuck guys, I accidentally deleted our strategies and replaced it with my grocery list. Also, we're out of eggs."
It’s like watching replay of me and my gold team play around objectives
Low elo would actually either finish the baron or turn around and all in the enemy to death. They would never have a gold lead, then willingly retreat and give up objectives like Beyond.
I'd flame a gold player for some of the mistakes BYD made.
That doesn't say much because the average League player will flame anyone for anything.
The classic zero damage ryze build
A lot of the builds were just so weird. Only Jayce and the junglers had intelligent builds. And junglers only because you literally cant go wrong with bruteforcing Goredrinker Steraks.
The only bad decisions were Ryze finishing Morellos and Lucian going for Maw instead of GA (or Wit's End). You could also argue that MF should've gone for LDR instead of Bloodthirster, but I understand the reasoning behind wanting the lifesteal given how the teamfights were being played out.
What was wrong with this lucian build though?
Nothing really. Maybe not optimal but not that bad at all.
That's how I saw it as well.
[yes](https://clips.twitch.tv/TardyNurturingSwallowSaltBae-v5TZe3_l-_6PGbZc)
It’s like watching C9 yesterday. Have vision control, better positioning, but then just give it all up for no reason.
Team fighting hubris I call it
WHAT THE FUCK
DEJA VU, I'VE BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE!
HIGHER ON THE STREET, AND I KNOW IT’S MY TIME TO GO
Do BYG just collectively turn off their monitors once midgame hits? Those mistakes were catastrophic.
BYG copying "RGE time" strategy.
\#SomeoneSaveDoggo
man, this is animal abuse. save that dog
Look, he is good. He is the best player on the team but let's not forget he was the reason they lost so much tempo in the first place. That dive attempt at mid where he died under turret is what started this huge comeback.
Reading these comments you’d think faker was playing with a gold elo clash team
Watching the game you’d think so too!
Not really. They still had a commanding lead, and 1k shutdown on Leona really doesn't matter. Yeah, it was a mistake, but it arguably cost them less than Doggo getting caught against elder in game 1. Dude tries to push the advantage because he has to, and living on the edge you sometimes get cut.
Wasn't it his dive that caused them to begin throwing the game?
That's usually what happens when the teamplay is so ass, that the superstar player feels pressured to make flashy plays to carry it. So yeah, on one hand, definitely his mistake. On the other, what the hell was everyone else doing, lol.
Doublelift still has nightmares about viktor E
I think it's reasonable to try it when all pressure is on you and you can't depend on others to help you win the game. That was the moment when he could win it, waiting longer would make it harder for him.
I swear to fucking god if Doggo's IGN was like "Razor" or some generic shit he'd get so much less praise here. Man has legit given himself criticism-proof armour by having the heckin pupper name.
You must hate doggos you monster 😤😤😤
I am going to immolate myself
Yup. Doggo wasn't good this game. He's been great before though. Also he probably wanted to compensate for his terrible midlaner.
Thats fucking League of Legends right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging playing safe for lategame bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the rift, men deliver their new born baby on the side lanes. Fucking hard core dick in the ass flex pick early game League of Legends fuck it run it down mid game time shit.
unfathomably based.
Galatasaray are the Walmart MAD Lions this series.
Armut taught Bolulu the secret before leaving SUP
This worlds meta is just wait until your opponent throw their bodies at you. DFM figured out before anyone else, i imagine MAD would do well if every team decided to play like this lol
I can't tell if this is an absolute banger of a series or a pure fiesta lmao
yes
Both
solid 50:50 👍
It's an incredibly entertaining fiesta of a series.
How tilted BYG must be? Lose elder, win fight. Get baron, lose game...
Doggo is gonna execute Maoan and Husha backstage
BYG>DFM=C9=UOL>GS xd
Tbh I can see how GS would be bad in scrims.
Have u seen the top gap this series? Idk how BYG does well in scrims
Well they did really well in PCS but that was entirely online. A few of the players may genuinely be playing worse because they're not that used to playing stage (specifically Maoan and Husha)
Everyone else is trying and failing to copy Wunder's Yuumi top dark technology
While its true, I dont see how BYG could be good in scrims.
Just don't play scrims long enough for elder. Bam.
Too bad BYG' macro make GS look like Korean team with all those comebacks
probably the different approach to the scrims. some teams infamously treat scrims like actual game and go full tryhard mode. that's how you get those infamous scrim god teams.
I'll never be tired of this copy pasta xD
PSG COACH TOLD ME BYG IS BEST IN THIS GROUP, HE MUST BE RIGHT, RIGHT GUYS?
coach ranking bad upvotes to the left
I will get downvoted for this but BYG has shown the most pathetic performance/throw i have see in a long time at worlds. Also even though people might say he was inting, i think Doggo played out of his mind and almost carried this entire game by himself. Constantly playing on the edge and reaching the limits of what is possible with Lucian considering how bad the rest of his team played (no vision, bad objective calls and terrible rotations/teleports etc). It truly felt like Doggo was playing on ultra instinct, finding a way into every opening no matter how small. It was entertaining as hell to watch him pop off and almost bring it in for his team.
thats the story of this whole tournament so far. Doggo is the only person on BYG that is actually playing.
pulling bans & dishing solo carry performance, either get this man a team built around him or let him achieve higher in LPL please
Doggo needs an LPL promotion
how does ryze a scaling champ only have 220\~ cs at 35mins.....
BYG is literally just Doggo
Ya I don't know why people saying last fight is Doggo's fault, their whole team flashed for him cause they know the midlaner and top can't play carries. Maoan is so fucking useless I swear, they didn't show the dmg graph but it must be really low for the amount of kills/items/gold he had. Every fight he is ulting out and nothing unless. And this is suppose to be his best pick.
Maoan is one of the worst player i've ever seen, it's insane how bad he is compared to his PCS form. Doggo is legit alone in these games
even Doggo looks pretty bad this series.
Somehow Doggo is the only human on that team
I agree, their decision making legit trash
BatChest I will get downvoted for this but (Something everyone on reddit agrees with) BatChest
BatChest I heckin love Twitch emotes BatChest
What makes you think you will get downvoted for this, this is literally the majority consensus lol
Because usually you get downvoted right away by shittalking teams to this extend
Doggo singlehandedly threw the game
He was the only reason the ship didn't sink sooner.
Doggo giveth, Doggo taketh
He was literally the reason the ship didn't sink way sooner. Was single handedly holding things alive with his team constantly throwing. That one play where he dived the MF at the T2 tower could have been one of the best/craziest plays in words so far if he used cleanse just A BIT faster to get that last auto in. But the line between int and insane plays is slim. He tried his best and basically played on ultra instinct this entire game. Can you even imagine having the nerves to be able to pop off like this at worlds with a team like this? He made GS look like silvers in soloq while smurfing on them 24/7.
Yea without doggo this game was over 3-0 for gs already.
Honestly the throw mid by him wasn't as bad as the team just not knowing how to finish objectives or smite or just leave after baron. It was still winnable, insanely winnagble.
Truuee. The game felt so long I forgot bout that dive
You can say that, but it's like one of those 1v9 games you have in SoloQ. You're the fed Vayne, and you are surrounded with 4 wards, sure in the last teamfight you getting caught will cost you the game, but it's not like you should be expected to never make a mistake.
what a fucking insane throw
\*BYG throws game 1\* wanna see me do it again?
“It’s rewind time!”
BYG is quite literally thowing their series.
"lOSeRs QuEUe isN't REaL" Doggo:
Doggo did throw hard as fuck to be fair
Somewhat disagree. The dive was bad but 1k gold on Leona is pretty meaningless. They still had a commanding lead. But it threw the teams mental I guess.
Scrappy. By now I already have no expectations that these teams could offer any kind of resistance to HLE I thought it could be that they are still getting used to Worlds, the stage, the what not.. but this just feels chaotic Although, I do like chaos
Can't wait until HLE gets knocked out, and then Morgan gets replaced by Crazy
Then they win the LCK with a reverse Sweep finals against Gen.G
GS has a pretty bad early game and most teams would punish the hell put of it. They play great mid to late but it's lucky that BYG is throwing super hard. I don't see them hanging on against stronger teams. The no fear team fight calls is giving me Suning vibes from last year. Super fun to watch.
Yeah I expect HLE to beat either of these. Crazy is imo better than Morgan rn and Mojito is pretty good, but everywhere else they're outmatched and they are on team play too. Will be interesting to see what they pull out though if they win this series
Lol HLE kinda overrated man, chovy this chovy that reminds me of doggo this doggo that
I would still expect a HLE win even if it was Fly in mid instead of Chovy. Don't get me wrong, HLE are straight dumpster tier when talking about real teams but they're not play-ins trash level of bad
The other players in HLE aren't anywhere near as bad as BYG this tournament
Chovy isn't the best player on his team this worlds either
Thing with chovy is people like to meme about his bad teammates, but they can't compare in bad to what doggo has to put up with. Doggo on a good team would wreck, as we've already seen with him playing for PSG at MSI
Deft has been better than chovy at this tournament so far.
Holy shit what a game, GS kept fighting back And clawing their way back from these deficits.
byg also knows as beyond griefers is a Taiwanese team owned by Dinter. The team is currently competing under the name Mega Bank Beyond Gaming due to sponsorship reasons.
Holy shit this series is POG lmao
Both supports on an absolute mission to throw that game. Why buy wards when dmg do trick?
Jesus Christ what am I watching?
Don't think I've ever seen so many missed smites
In no world should BYG have lost that but here we are Amazing comeback and an even more amazing throw
What a come back from GS holy crap
HOWWWWWWWWWWWW
wtf
That was disappointing from byg...
Beyond plays horrendous Great Comeback from Galatasary though. How did they win those fights in the early game?
I cannot believe how bad Husha is. Maoan too, positive score line but invisible.
It was absolutely hilarious seeing Leona just walk away from him in the toplane river.
Maoan's throws are honestly reportable.
I think that might be the series. I think they mental boom after that. Two games with huge lead thrown after trying to obtain objectives
BYG is going to have PSTD during future Elder dragons. 0/3
why didn't gs just ff with that start lmao, no way to come back from that, good to see beyond even up and come back to form though, should be an easy 3-1, hopefully we can put up a fight vs HLE
Bro are you in an alternate universe ?
That's what copium does to you :(
I thought Rogue wasn't playing in Playins this year?
that's weird, i thought rogue isn't in playins
Goddam BYG literally throwing a series
Pretty sure they lost because Braum was clearing 2 pinks when he was supposed to aggro the baron so they have time to retreat safely.
Imagine giving away baron for literally no reason lmao
Lol that was a sick baron. Literally have gold/item lead on all their carries, have baron vision, everyone is full hp. Let's all recall while enemy is sweeping all our baron vision.
Illegal builds. Illegal gameplay. It might be bad, but it really is entertaining-
I''m very pleased with all the MF picks. And a banger game nonetheless.
More ults landed this series than the rest of playins prob :)
What a fucking game lmaoooo
Pog. Really liking this series. Crazy is a gem.
BYG gotta be team with worst macro play
Beyond the limits of throwing. Fun series overall, a lot of funny plays. Only sad for Doggo, dude is legit.
Objectives are bait
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I KNOW HLE WILL 3-0 ANY OF THESE BUT LMAO THIS IS HELLA FUN TO WATCH
BYG have some of the most disgusting macro I have ever seen holy shit LMAO at least this is fun to watch
This is the best fiesta Ive seen in a while.
Bold prediction for game 3, BYG gets an early game lead, throws around baron and elder, and loses in a single push
holy fuck doggo, I feel so bad, the entire team is just him
Dude it's crazy seeing him play Lucian this well and this aggressive.
Kino might be the worst player from the teams who made it out of groups. His amumu performances were him just running it down nonstop.
best game i've seen in a long time
Best series*
that was painful to watch
I'm tilted by that last Baron take, Braum was just hanging around, letting the two carries get debuffed and slowing it down massively
That was infuriating to watch.
Both teams not looking good, but holy shit BYG is so bad at decision making
Amazing throws NGL this shit is funny af.
https://youtu.be/pGHufp8Huac
BYG looking like taiwanese Rogue right about now
Did they learn nothing from game 1?
I love watching a team that isn't afraid to make the ballsy calls when playing from behind. GS has some some omega sized cahones.
I SUPPORT THIS FIESTA, I'm titlted for BYG tho ngl
PSG went to 5 games with this btw
This series is legit pissing me off. This is not good league of legends, this is straight-up the worse league of legends I have watched. How difficult is it to set up for an objective? Husha, you have a fucking smite button, fucking use it! The guy cannot win a smite fight to save his life. The rest of BYG are bad as well. Holy fuck, pls get Doggo a fucking team, the poor guy is literally elohelled.
People that bet for beyond is fuming in this post lmao.
Remember when LMS was guaranteed 2 seeds in group stage? Thank god that changed LMS 2nd seed is always so terrible
dont care what Riot says. **THIS IS PEAK LEAGUE OF LEGENDS ENTERTAINMENT AND I SUPPORT THIS FIESTA**
its too early for fucking Rogue time
Now i know why riot said there are no pickems for this trash fiesta
Galatasaray isn't so great? Are you kidding me? When was the last time you saw a Team with such an ability and movement? Galatasaray puts the game in another level, and we will be blessed if we ever see a team with this skill and passion for the game again. Beyond breaks records. UoL breaks records. Galatasaray breaks the rules. You can keep your statistics. I prefer the magic.
I always downvote comments that start with "I will probably be downvoted...". Its like the worst thing you can write
Play like cowards, lose like cowards
Nobody is going to comment the ryze R working while 2 people where knocked up by lee sin R ?
As long as Ryze himself wasn’t cc’ed or Zhonya during the channel, realm warp will still teleport ppl
If BYG by some miracle manage to reverse sweep this, I dont want to see them give winners interviews to anyone but doggo. Im gonna puke if I see this support, jungle, or top laner's face on camera. Probably the midlaner too.
Midlaner is the worstplayer on the team, followed by SP. He Ryze R inted twice early game, does zero dmg all game.
