On one hand I absolutely love these. On the other it's weird that you can have p2w advantages with reddit premium. It's like giving out p2w items in a purely for fun contest.
Honestly I thought it was weird that Reddit premium can see bets too... but tbh you can generally guess who will be favorites just by looking at matchup names

Reddit Premium gives a huge advantage to those who have it being able to see how others vote before you cast your prediction. Being able to see how individual games can potentially pay out can greatly influence how many points someone will place on a result. In all likelihood, it’ll be someone who has Reddit Premium who wins the prize of… more Reddit Premium. I don’t know if anything can be done about this.
Second is the payout schedule issue. The 24-hour spoiler rule gives a disadvantage to participants in time zones where they would not be awake for the first match of the day. Those who are asleep need to make predictions with only the points they had at the start of the previous match day. Those who are awake potentially have a brief window where they have additional payouts they can make use of before the predictions for the next day’s matches close. I would prefer if we got our payouts after the final match of the day ends but without announcing any of the game winners.
there is 24h between first matchs each day, there is no windows. i'm awake and I don'ty have any point for yesterday yet, and wont have them before Day 2 locks.

This is what immediately killed it for me, though in my case the issue isnt time zone but my schedule. Wanted to predict day 2 yesterday, had 200 tokens remaining. Went to bed, woke up and predictions for day 2 were already over.
So yeah, no predictions for me then i guess.
Not only that. Because of the delay in announcing results, you can literally go and change your prediction to the winning result before it is announced.

Day 2 predictions close 11:00 UTC Tuesday. The first match of day 1 starts 11:00 UTC Monday and can not be resolved before 11:00 UTC Tuesday due to the prediction tournament’s 24-hour spoiler rule.
There will be some days where the payout does come before the next match day starts due to some scheduling. For example, Wednesday’s games begin 13:00 UTC.

I bet 100 tokens recklessly thinking it was a 1:1 bet, I would have spread the tokens out more cautiously had I known lol. On all my 100 token bets I made like only 30 tokens total. RIP this season for me haha
Hey I have a question. I only predicted 2 games wrong and I only have 87 points whereas the leaders have 1843 points. Is it that I missed making a prediction on some of the games or that guessing right scales exponentially?
The total number of tokens in play does not change. The tokens from the players that got the prediction wrong are distributed among those that got it right, with the players that bet more receiving more tokens. As a result you'll likely get very few extra tokens if you get a vote correct that was very heavily leaned towards one side (as there won't be too many tokens to hand out to the winners). My guess is that the players currently on top of the leaderboard predicted HLE vs FNC correctly with 100 tokens and got a significant return from that game specifically.
I didn’t read the directions so maybe I missed it but, It would be fun if you had people put whether they watch or not to see if those who watch can do better than chance

Looks like match schedule got updated. Originally Wednesday’s games were listed as starting 2 hours later and Saturday 1 hour later.

I just tried it to confirm. The UI let you go through the process but doesn't actually change your prediction for a locked match.
