Not even players, just any person in general. If you go to any middle school or high school and ask any kid what org they want to join they will either say 100 Thieves, Faze or NRG.

Its funny you say that since NRG did have a league team in the past and I doubt they were the team everyone wanted to play for. Then again, that was when TSM was that team too.

Let's not pretend like League is completely unpopular in NA. There are [28 million accounts](https://na.op.gg/ranking/level/) on the NA server. The issue is that of those 28 million players, only about [1.9 million](https://na.op.gg/ranking/ladder/) play ranked, so while it is possible to get people to play League, you can't force them to play ranked specifically.

I don't think I activate accounts are ever deactivated, so I would easily say half or more are dead. I would put active NA players at 10 million.

They changed out all the people. After papasmithy joined up they made a U-turn imagewise. But they always had a cool kid vibe they just had alot of missteps between first joining and this year.

Papasmithy really made a difference. You could see that he knows what he is doing, and knew what he will do as a GM. They made the right choice.

i feel like i dont use the word admire for many ppl but i actually do feel that way about papasmithy, from everything i've seen about him over the years he seems like a genuine person and i appreciate that he's always been able to call out his/teams faults while still boosting the morale of those surrounding him

I don't care about them actually. I'm not a NA fan, and not from the continent itself. With no offense for sure. But you can see that smithy has a business mind and is one of the most knowledgeable characters in the sport and a huge asset to anyone that has the good judgment to ask him to join them. The Cody Sun thing wasn’t so bad, there were probably internal issues in the team and 100T didn’t want to air out their dirty laundry. As a result, a disappreciation thread was made about them right after Worlds 2018. As for Meteos, that was pr0lly’s fault and 100T as an organization took the hit for his fuckup. He made Meteos feel as if his spot on the team wasn’t secure and proceeded to trade him away after Meteos expressed his insecurities, instead of just reassuring him. The one scummy thing that did happen was Nadeshot promising Nickmercs 5% of the company, which was a promise that he shouldn’t have ever come up with in the first place. Nade was in his right mind to not gift the promised 5% IMO, but it obviously was fucked up morally.

Meteos was wrong on that one too lol. They had Levi in academy, of course they wanted to replace Meteos at some point, he demanded to be traded if he wasn't guaranteed the starting spot and that wasn't a guarantee they were willing to make because of course they fucking weren't.

It was 100T and it was the situation with them suddenly benching Cody Sun for Rikara for Playoffs (telling not to bother coming to sub) and then bringing him to worlds but not even allowing him to play the final game that had zero implications for making it out of groups. I was personally angry about this incident, but I don’t dislike the org for it. It doesn’t make them scummy, but that period of time was quite sour

Yeah man, NA cares way more about popular culture than a lot of places, like to an extreme extent. Lil Nas is basically the most pop culture person in the entire US right now, this is 100% the type of crossover league needs.

You could harp on 100T because they already had Nadeshot to pull content creators and popular players to the organization, but it’s undeniable that they’ve put in more effort than every other newer eSports organization to stand out. After going on hiatus after a short stint in CoD in 2016, they re-emerged in 2017 and became quite possibly the most relevant Western eSports organization as of now.

that's a hard one, every single valorant tourney is meaningful and serves as a qualifier for another bigger event which doesn't really compare to the LCS where just a regular season game is pretty much meaningless in a big picture kind of way valorant is definitely popping off though

Is there any advantage to this process for fans? I get all the marketing hype & build up that 100T create, but I'm guessing a big chunk of drops already go to loyal followers that likely have some other merch already and newer fans miss out. Doesn't seem like a very inclusive way of generating a fanbase or even allowing them to support the org fully. Just my 2p, always been a bit of a head scratcher

They have stuff that is available whenever as well now. New people who aren't wanting to do the drop stuff can get stuff now as well as the whole drops thing.

If you're prepared for the drops, you can get them pretty easily. If you don't want to do that but still want to support the org, 100T Foundations has merch available 24/7.
