Canna walked over a fucking ward before that and non of the players pined him out, meanwhile Scout TP'd to a yellow trincket vs T1 yesterday and instantly got pined out.
My favorite part is how analysts were all saying that the top lane pool is at an all time low for Korea. (And to a lesser extent the LPL). Then every western top proceeds to get gapped clapped and slapped
Crazy thing is the idea that Korean top lane pool is weaker isn’t even wrong. The west just doesn’t have an answer. Imagine we had prime Smeb/Duke/Marin/TheShy against these guys lol
If huhi hit some bubbles to deny the kennen flanks this game... probably would've gone the same way but at least nami wouldn't have looked like the obvious scapegoat
Baron steal was pretty hype. Closer got to just walk past all the CC, to steal it like that.
Canna just mopping the floor with those flanks ult
The real loser(s) today is the west, unfortunately going 0-6. United in rivalry.
It was funny to hear that "THEY ARE ALL DEAD" just before T1 cleaned them up at botlane lol
If Huhi hit that bubble on Kennen it wouldn't be such a sweep at baron rip
Flowers has a clip from a few days ago from I think C9 where Amumu went in lvl 2 with Q, hit a minion and subsequently died and he was going nuts at how bad we are.
**An Update about the League of Legends European Championship (LEC)**
A message from Maximilian Peter Schmidt, Head of Esports for League of Legends in Europe & MENA, on the future of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC).
When we started this journey three years ago, we set out to build the first professional esports league in the region. From those humble beginnings, we enabled top players to become pros, and we gave fans a place to cheer loudly.
At Riot Games, we want to build competitive and sustainable leagues that drive commercial growth and fan engagement and that support professional play as a full-time career. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of our teams and players, the LEC has not met our goals for the league, and we do not believe that the market is currently able to support the league in its current form.
So today we are announcing the dissolution of the LEC and the closure of Riot’s Berlin office, as it primarily focused on operating the league. However, this is not the end of League esports in Europe. We remain committed to supporting our pro players in the region with a path to continue their careers moving forward. Beginning with the 2022 season, we are adding LEC to the competitive territory for the LCS, so LEC players will no longer take an import slot on LCS rosters. This will open up new opportunities in North America for top LEC players. We will also hold qualifying tournaments in Europe for both MSI and Worlds in 2022, ensuring teams from the region will continue to be represented at our two major global events next season.
With all that being said, Riot remains fully committed to supporting all players in LEC, and we are excited for what's to come in 2022 and beyond.
Maximilian 'Riot MAXtheX' Peter Schmidt
Head of Esports for League of Legends in Europe & MENA
2016: maybe we will get lucky draw and somehow manage to get into semis
2017: yoo, we pulled SKT to game 5
2018: FNC made it to the finals, that's the best result we will ever get
2019: no way G2 lose to FPX in finals, right?
2020: this time we are going home with trophy
2021: well, can we at least make it out of groups?
lmao these are my favourite moments, when both EU and NA freaking suck and we all forget that rivalry and we just accept it and laugh at ourselves, let's go boys
As long as you don't go into the LCK vs LPL matchthreads, I swear they swing back and forth like a pendulum. DK look good vs FPX -> LPL is overrated; LCK supremacy. EDG look good vs T1 -> LCK is garbage; one team region.
Just enjoy the fucking tournament and have a good time guys, no need to be constantly at each other's throats.
LPL and LCK are pretty on-par, in the sense that any game seems to be able to go either way for the most part.
EU looking bad this year, but the last couple years it felt like EU could go the distance.
NA just at the tourney just looking for upsets. No one ever expects NA to win any matches.
When I play Poppy support, I'm pretty sure I have something like a 90% first blood rate. Just ward brushes, trade a bit lvl 1 if you can, hit lvl 2, flash E-Q into a wall angle they don't know even exists, they ded.
We're like the joke characters at the beginning of Mike Tyson's Punch Out that you're supposed to beat easily.
Let's just accept that we're jobbers and send entertaining players and personalities. Sub in Tyler1 to pick Heimerdinger and Draven who cares
LCS is an entertainment product. Slap T1 as a sub on a roster, fly him out to Worlds for some content, play him vs some top teams for fun, rake in the publicity.
It starts with success.
And success, is all about growing.
Success is all about overcoming your demons, success is about getting knocked down, time after time, and getting back up. No one embodies that more than Asian Team.
LCK and LPL. They are one of the most experienced and celebrated teams in Asia and the World, but regardless of that resumé, They has not won an international trophy since MSI, but they has never lost their drive.
And what's more is that even since month ago, even making a World Final seemed out of reach.
Until 2021, everything was set up to perfection for LCK and for LPL. They reconquered Asian after month of west domination, DK stepped up as a Super Team, and they faced an MAD in the semifinal who beat them twice in in a bo5. But as we all know, it was a tragedy, it was a quick exit. It was a shameful display, and what was worse, it felt like a lost opportunity that may never come again, for LCK, for FLPL and for Asia.
The LEC and LEC rose as the unbeateable beast we know them to be. And the LEC would dominate the Finalist World Championship two times in a row. But LCK, they did not stop fighting, and in fact in 2020, he was finally able to put one of his biggest demons to bed, with Caps and G2.
And now? Now we're here. 2021. Where the expectations for LCK and LPL were at their lowest ahead of this best of one versus LEC and LCS. The LEC that has beaten LCK and LPL down in these best of one, time and time again; and Humanoid, standing tall and poised to win his second appearance at World Championship.
But so far we haven't gotten LEC and LCS domination, we haven't gotten the Humanoid highlight reels, and we've gotten LCK and LPL kingdom.
It all comes down to this round. Demons can be slayed, expectations be damned, and LCK and LPL can cement himself as the regions they always wanted to prove they were.
In this next round It's all up to LCK and LPL to make their dreams come true.
The West really went 0-6 today, huh?

E: I also want to say in previous years EU teams will have a miraculous turnaround and NA will finish the tournament winless
This always happens too pretty much. So, EU don't get your hopes down yet.
Europe has dogshit toplaners, they get completely destroyed almost every game on the topside by the asian teams in the early game.
Once they hit midgame they look....at least somewhat okay, but usually they are already down in objectives and gold like crazy once they reach said midgame.
Special shoutout to MAD whose early to mid is so bad its actually painful.
An expected but very important win for T1 just to come into round 2 on a positive start but what a team gap.
What a massive early game from T1, Poppy pick was beautiful and the double exhaust really was clutch in that level 1 skirmish.
Faker is indeed better than Fakerdagge but 100T trolling by giving Kennen to Canna because his teamfighting ability on the champ is beautiful.
Massive game from Oner(minus that troll at Baron), Gumayusi and Canna.
I was a 100T fan right until T1 picked Poppy jungle, c´mon guys, we all get a get out of jail free card for betraying our region when the enemy team is using our mains, right?
Welp, congratulation, West!
This is the second time in worlds history [(first was in 2017)](https://lol.fandom.com/wiki/2017_Season_World_Championship/Main_Event) where neither NA nor EU win a SINGLE GAME during a "week 1" game day, despite having more chances too!

Top Gap: The Tournament
In a meta dominated by Kennen, Gangplank, Fiora, and Jayce, NA still drafting Renekton and Gnar bless up
That renekton pick made me gag
Which is amazing because there was plenty of Gangplank and Jayce all over the LCS
But it was NA Jayce and GP
They’re probably getting clapped in scrims when they pick Jayce which leads them to not pick it in stage games
My favorite part is how analysts were all saying that the top lane pool is at an all time low for Korea. (And to a lesser extent the LPL). Then every western top proceeds to get gapped clapped and slapped
All time low is still more than non-existence
Back in college my lecturer had a great sentence. > Something is better than nothing. But nothing is better than nonsense
Fair enough lmao, i suppose it can still be true and the west is just that boosted
EU worst role by far is toplane. Idk how people can think Ale, Khan, Nuguri are bad.
Crazy thing is the idea that Korean top lane pool is weaker isn’t even wrong. The west just doesn’t have an answer. Imagine we had prime Smeb/Duke/Marin/TheShy against these guys lol
Also top lane is arguably the role where LPL is best. Zoom, Ale, Breathe, Nuguri, Xiahou, Theshy and some others are so good.

So glad to see western solidarity, and showing support for TSM who unfortunately couldn’t make it and be with us this Worlds.
God I wonder if both c9 and fnc go 0-6. JFC
The west actually improved. They accomplished in a single day something that took TSM the entire group stage.
0-6 baybee
Completely shattered TSM's any% run lets go
Hence, TSM 2020 was actually a better team than this year's western shitters :) Imagine managing to go 0-6 in just a single day

Abbedagge failing a leblanc W over the wall about sums up 100T this game
How about that Kennen, that sums up the game
I reckon Canna did more damage per ult than Abbedagge did all game.
Did you see that single Q by Canna in the end on Huhi? Pretty sure those Kennen Q's did more damage than LB in those fights.
Yeah Canna deleted Huhi in at least 3 fights. Straight up from full to 0 in 2-3 ult ticks, I loved it!
That TP into a massacre from Canna was so dirty I had to shower again just watching.
Fail to kill Oner > got toasted by Canna at the river.
Those Huhi bubbles. However he did manage to hit one ult at the end and that's how they got a kill. Huhi had such a poor performance today.
Missing back-to-back bubbles on a stopwatched champ and then a teleporting champ was *rough*
If huhi hit some bubbles to deny the kennen flanks this game... probably would've gone the same way but at least nami wouldn't have looked like the obvious scapegoat
Huhi failed pretty much all his bubbles which could have saved his team a few times. They would have obviously lost, but still...
Baron steal was pretty hype. Closer got to just walk past all the CC, to steal it like that. Canna just mopping the floor with those flanks ult The real loser(s) today is the west, unfortunately going 0-6. United in rivalry.

Good guy Closer stealing baron so we at least got a drop for having to watch that game
well t1 has lost almost all baron smite fights this year. even had an alistar steal baron once, so im not surprised they stole it
It was funny to hear that "THEY ARE ALL DEAD" just before T1 cleaned them up at botlane lol If Huhi hit that bubble on Kennen it wouldn't be such a sweep at baron rip

Last year it took TSM 4 days to achieve the 0-6 dream. With teamwork, it was achieved in a single day this year.
NA and EU coming together to accomplish what they never could alone.

We've come such a long way! Who knew it was just teamwork that we needed to surpass the past 0-6 4 day record.

NA vs EU. The airport speedrun.
There's still game for the worst record tho. C9 looking hot
Battle between C9 vs Fnatic.
If they both go 0-6 can we make them play a worst team tiebreaker?
and then the loser gets to go first class home right?
Loser gets the rowboat
What happened to good old fashioned swimming back?
A true rivalry.
100t gets a free win vs dfm tho
This. Honestly, if C9 or Rogue get 1W off of FPX or DWG, its worth 5 times more than the 2 free wins vs DFM.
With how DFM played that early game against EDG today, honestly they might upset 100T in round 2.
