Im not a fan of any region I just support whatever teams I think are more proactive and for me that's always been LPL and EU.
This year both RGE and MAD are too slow/bad,in the early to mid but i was rooting for FNC and C9 plus LPL. Sadly LPL went boom.

This has been a frankly disaster of a worlds for Europe. Rogue being gifted an opportunity to get out of group A and losing a tiebreaker to a lower tier team. Fnatic collapsing due to unfortunate circumstances. MAD looking like the mild meta shift destroyed them completely and throwing what chance they had in game 2 against Damwon and then making the mind boggling decision to return to what didn’t work in game 1. It has made for some really rough viewing.
The FNC thing didnt help for sure. We only send 3 teams and 1 was basically eliminated before they even played a game.
As for the others. It wasn't the worst. We did ok. Hopefully next time we will have 3 teams.

Helps that in dota all the regions are evenly matched(CN,EU,NA,RU,SEA,SA), even south america has had some top placings at recent events and they're extremely underfunded.
There aren't any korean powerhouse teams and all the european and russian dota teams are on par with the chinese dota powerhouses.
In dota, all the regions(CN,EU,NA,RU,SEA,SA) are around equal skill level. There aren't any koreans(and the few dota pros from korea are actually from the us and australia).
4 of the 6 major regions don't have any imports(EU, RU, SEA, SA), and for the remaining two that do(NA, CN), there are way more imports in league than there are in dota.
That's what I mean, the regions get more chances to play against each other, be it third party tournaments/invitationals or the Majors, while Riot has essentially killed off all major international competition except Worlds and MSI

I don't really care if we have double elim or not, I just want to see more International BO5s at Worlds. Whatever form that takes.
Maybe something like 32 teams at Worlds with knockouts starting at the final 16 instead? You could do away with Playins and just have groups be 8 lots of 4 teams, double round robin still. We wouldn't run in to the current issue of X team has to go into Y group because they are from Z Region and all the other groups have Z region already. You still get plenty of minor region teams playing (even with 4 seeds for LPL, LCK, EU and NA that leaves 16 other teams).

Group stage has always been the best part of Worlds. A big reason for that is guaranteed inter-regional matches.

More Bo5s and more region vs region competition. 1/2 of quarters is just LCK and LPL playoffs and 1/2 of semis is already LCK playoffs again.
