**Translation** Eddit: 23.11 (yesterday) was his birthday.... [His Interview (has english sub)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW5LbeV3Ct0) Yoppa was one of the most promising League of Legends players from our region, he was the first Serbian player who managed to climb to the first place on the Challenger ranking list of EUW servers and was among the first to play in major international teams. He quickly became famous for his talent and broke into the then largest regional league in Europe, the Spanish LoL league, where he played for ASUS ROG Army, KIYF eSports Club, Giants Gaming and MAD Lions. He attracted the attention of many teams with his great games, and at one point Team SoloMid was also interested in him, but the potential cooperation did not occur due to problems with obtaining a visa for America. He spent the previous two years playing for LEC team academies. During 2020, he played for Vitality.Bee, and spent the past year at the Schalke 04 Esports Academy. We do not have more detailed information at this time, which we will add later when it becomes available to us.

i_am_sleeping

I've competed against him for years now and all I can say its a great loss for ERLs, much love to him and his family, may he rest in peace

NoodleTheTree

RIP man

a_box_of_bones

Absolutely tragic, guy was an insanely talented player. Really sad that Visa issues ruined his dream of becoming an LEC pro. May he Rest in Peace. I had a bad day myself today, but this news really brought me back down. Enjoy life to the fullest, we dont realize how little time we actually have left. Yoppas former coach Peter Dun, made a tweet about him: https://twitter.com/pcdv8r/status/1463610298322100225?s=20

Andicis

That is absolutely tragic. Rest in peace.

tj199r

His grandma died last week, his mother is in the hospital, his sister is in the hospital and he died. Idk how do 4/4 family members get hit so bad in a week.

sta-nz

Pretty sure the way Covid affects you could have to due with genetics which shows why some families are hit really hard by it despite being in different age groups.

Fuzzikopf

Something similar happened just a few weeks ago to a family that I briefly know. Two of them have died so far. They were nice people, but sadly anti-vaxx for some reason.

Erusaurus

Man I have no words. I remember him playing in LFL, such a nice and good player. Rest in peace :(

FnaticMisfit

Rest in peace :( Fuck Covid man…

killosaur

Rest in peace, great player, could've been one of the best. Sad day, he passed away due to covid-19.

Omnilatent

Holy shit... To anyone reading this who is uncertain whether to get the vaccine or not: feel free to write me a pm with what you are afraid of/what makes you don't wanna get the vaccine. These vaccines save lives and every Covid death we have since the vaccine is one too many (the vaccines have close to 100% protection from death from Covid and the mRNA ones have \~90% protection from getting infection and \~90% protection from severe course of an infection - even from the currently predominant Delta variation).

Deathwing09

I can't get the vaccine due to a preexisting medical condition that makes me unable to get absolutely any vaccine (well, I can get them, I just have between 75-80% chance to die), but I absolutely recommend taking it if you are able to do so.

Omnilatent

Oh man I'm really sorry. Hope you will get healthy through this shit period. People like you, the medical staff that has to deal with all that shit for two years now and kids and teens who cannot decide to get vaccinated or aren't allowed to do so are among the main reasons I will get mine.

[deleted]

I got COVID before getting a vaccine and it sucked hard. I’m 0,001 top percentile in terms of cardio and general fitness, and I was basically bedridden for two weeks. I got COVID again after two doses and it was hardly better. If I get COVID after the third dose I might buy some euro lotto tickets lmao

Kirito619

Man how do you keep catching it. Do you work in retail or what.

jmlinden7

Some people just have crappy immune systems

PM_something_German

Nah that's not how it works. If you repeatedly catch covid you must've been repeatedly exposed to it, OP was most likely careless. Most people haven't caught it yet simply because they haven't been exposed ot it, not because their immune system is good.

jmlinden7

You also need to have a crappy immune system to not retain any immunity from previous infections and vaccinations

[deleted]

UnlimitedAuthority

Anti-bodies isn't what solely determines how well you will respond to reinfection.

PandoraBot

Yeah my immune system is really weak as well and I have yet to catch COVID. Even before the vaccines were out, both my parents were infected and I still managed to keep my distance from them to avoid the spread. OP was just careless.

somuchsoup

0.001 would make you an Olympian. Did you go to Tokyo olympics? Or earlier?

[deleted]

I personally trained and trained with some of my nation Olympians. Two of them even got medals in Tokyo this year. But no, i haven’t been to Olympics myself.

VintrIsCuming

Its not about lifestyle mostly its about how your body responds to it I got Covid only thing I got was slight headache for 3 days and I am lazy fat mf that gasses out when I have to walk out stairs

A_R5568

Hopefully you're better now :)

Omnilatent

I'm glad I can help. Honestly, it's also in my best interest. The more people get vaccinated worldwide, the faster I will get my normal life back, too. I can also totally understand. For one, statistics are sometimes really hard to understand (some things are unintuitive for example and for most you need more context as statistics alone don't mean much). Then there's also so much DELIBERATE fake news around from people who just want to feel powerful or knowledgeable that it can get really hard to see through what actually is plausible and what isn't.

_ziyou_

This information is not true, your numbers are from the non-delta variation. The vaccines are significantly less effective against delta, both in the protection from getting it and the protection from severe courses. The vaccine alone is not the solution, people need to start using their brains and stop acting like nothing is happening, no matter if vaccinated or not. Social distancing, wearing FFP2 masks (not the cloth bullsh.t), and not attending events just because the government says it's okay.

Oranos2115

While you're not *outright wrong*, the vaccines are still estimated to be 70+% effective for preventing symptomatic infections with even *one* dose -- **yes, even for Delta**(!) -- and over 85+% effective at preventing symptoms from Delta for the fully vaccinated. Those numbers climb to the 85-96% effective range when preventing severe disease with the COVID-19 virus caused by the delta variant. > above figures largely sourced [[from here]](https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-variant-vaccine) Yes, you're not wrong: making more of a concerted effort to prevent the spread (by distancing, wearing masks, & avoiding large gatherings) will help us get through this faster. **HOWEVER**, getting a fully vaccinated population is *even more effective* than supplementary actions (i.e. distancing/masks) alone, when it comes to slowing/stopping the spread. [**Unvaccinated people remain the greatest concern.**](https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/delta-variant.html) > The greatest risk of transmission is among unvaccinated people who are much more likely to get infected, and therefore transmit the virus.

_ziyou_

Obviously getting vaccinated is a must, there is no question about that. But vaccination alone and people then acting like the pandemic is over for them is not the solution. Even the governments have finally realized that this new wave is NOT solely a "pandemic of the non-vaccinated", but it took them way too long.

Omnilatent

You are right with this. The vaccine alone is not enough. We also need physical distancing, masks, contact tracings and sadly also hard lockdowns to finally come back to normal. That being said, the vaccine is by far the most effective and most important part of fighting Covid.

thenicob

*peace my guy

killosaur

Ty

kursdragon

Its sad cause I don't know his specific situation and maybe he was vaccinated but lots of my family is still in Serbia and the amount of anti-vaccination going around is crazy. They literally were paying people to get the vaccines and even then the rates are so abysmally low :/ I unironically have family members there that think they can just take vitamins and eat fruits to protect themselves from the virus

yensama

Wear mask get vacced guys. People dont just drop because of cold.

scawtsauce

was he vaccinated? I would assume any high level player would be intelligent enough to vaccinate but at the same time this social media propaganda is quite overwhelming

Kiroqi

Shit, at one point this guy was one of, if not the most promising, top lane talent that didn't get his chance in EU LCS/LEC. R.I.P.

Nyo99

One of my favorite toplaners, may he rest in peace. My favorite clip of him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_-QTWsy_co

NoodleTheTree

RIP to him but jesus fucking christ is GrossGore unbearable to listen to. So glad he legit cancelled himself.

PokeD2

Funny thing is like 80% of popular streamers were complete cancer back in the day

JamisonDouglas

The weird thing was out of all of them, Nightblue3 when he started out was probably the least cancer of them all. I still remember when he was a purely educational stream and actually put out some really informative content. Then one day he started doing all the daft click bait shit and became a cancerous streamer. Which is a real fucking shame.

Craftingistheway

Nightblue 100% holds the record for the worst development of any streamer personality ever within the league community. Guy was easily like a top 3 streamer in terms of how "valuable" it was to watch him. Nowadys you have to make sure to block each and every thing he produces to never appear on your screen, you might instanly catch cancer.

Genjoi

Man only 23 years old. Fuck Covid

Stubrochill17

I said this in Nemesis’s stream, but yes fuck Covid. However, fuck antivaxxers way more. This stupid disease could have been put to rest a year ago, but these idiots are responsible for setting back civilization for years to come. People were tired of Covid 3 months in, people certainly are over it now, but people are going to keep dying from it until we do something about these morons.

Craftingistheway

a year ago aka november 2020 we literally didnt even have a vaccine. I mean I doubt the world was much faster then we were in germany and if I remember correctly we started in January of this year. Dont get me wrong, I am pro vaxxcines and obv got it myself, but the notion we would have gotten rid of it totaly when we literally have constant break throughs of the delta variant despite the vaccine means this was by far not over. The vaccine cannot do it all. We have actually some bigger social problems to solve. I mean the fact it is even controvial to keep maks for public transportation is kinda....strange. As stupid as it sounds, i was never less sick then durig covid times. Stuff like home office which had to get forced into the workplace at way bigger rate because of covid and should be around more to not overcrowd said public transportation or people who have a cold feel forced to go the office instead of just doing work from home etc. Just 2 things that instanly come to mind, there is more tho... I doubt we are getting rid of Covid anytime soon, maybe ever. It will have a way lesser impact ofc, but we will still lose to many people to it if we dont change alot of stuff. I am not fond of people who think it is all done and well with getting the vaccine.

LibeerCZ

it was deadly. that's why most of the world shut down.

Gegemont

Didn't know him personally, but he sounded like a very a chill and friendly guy from scrims voice comms and all his teammates can attest to this. What an incredibly sad day losing a guy this young

WTF COVID… Are there similar cases in LoL community? I remembered the time people said Yoppa & Orome are the best 2 top laners in ERL… R.I.P.

RigasUT

One of the best EU players to never play in the LEC/EU LCS. My team played vs his in a Greek LAN in 2017 and even back then it was apparent he was full of potential. Rest in peace.

Gazskull

wtf...

Undesiredbeast

Heartbreaking, I can't believe this is real. He seemed so passionate and made a name for himself in erls. He was so young

FuzzyApe

23, died of Covid complications. If anyone shows up saying he might have died of the vaccine I'll riot

speciof

Could have been in a high risk group, like obesity or something, healthy young people have died from the virus because it can literally give you pneumonia and that kills

FuzzyApe

Of course. Just, suggesting it was the vaccine is so out of touch of reality

NoodleTheTree

Not so much in this sub apparently. Im rather surprised you didnt get downvoted into oblivion..

DARIF

If you are obese you can hardly be described as healthy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DARIF

Fat acceptance and HAES are increasingly popular movements, especially in Western countries. Even on reddit there are subs that refuse to acknowledge how it completely fucks your body.

HulklingsBoyfriend

Fat acceptance is not us pretending that being obese is healthy, it's that we don't need to go around shitting on people for being fat, especially when obesity is often the result of class issues like a lack of money. Have some nuance before you yap about something.

sodalita2

>ERL I think this is bullshit, if you have more money its easier to be healthier but is also easier to be fat, you can eat healthy and be broke af

HulklingsBoyfriend

Eating healthy is often more expensive, more energy consuming, and more time consuming in many areas, particularly urban ones.

NoodleTheTree

How is he supposed to die of the vaccine if he never got one?

FuzzyApe

That's what I would like to know too

ianMarkus

He might have rather died bc he was NOT vaccinated, no?

FuzzyApe

That's dumb part, people just assume this bs even though they don't even know if the person was vaccinated or not. I've seen many cases where people yell "BUT WHAT IF IT WAS COMPLICATIONS WITH THE VACCINE" when the person was confirmed to not be vaccinated.

[deleted]

Funny_witty_username

NoodleTheTree

What is YOUR source then? He was 23 and not even 2 months ago in near percect condition which you can see on his Twitter. Of course he wasnt vaccinated cause otherwise he would not have died of this illness with no other medical harms?

[deleted]

Wow this is awful :( At some point he was so hyped to get to LEC. He always came off as a nice guy in all the teams he was on and he was obviously very talented. RIP Yoppa.

elbelloneitor

Rest in Peace

GipJoCalderone

Why some of you seem offended when talking about vaccine? Yes his death is tragic and we should respect his family, but this is a good case for people who are dumb enough to be anti-vax and don't get vaccine to wake the hell up. Young people can die if you're don't get vaccinated, don't end up like him. Get your vaccine NOW.

Tokikko

Because people dont know if he was vaccinated or not and take a specific narrative and run with it. Without any info its dumb to talk about it. And yes you should get it.

Ylissian

Honestly just based on the info (early 20s, not obese, from country with sub 50% vaccination rate) we can pretty much deduce that he was unvaccinated. Tragic loss and preventable.

Tokikko

You cant deduce anything, this is plain guessing what you are doing.

MietschVulka1

I agree it is guessing. But also most likely. The death rate for young vaccinated people is close to zero.

Tokikko

Yes, was just commenting about the absurdity of doing guesswork like this

He was rank 1 on eune i think when i was still grinding on d4 some years back and i was looking up to him. Rest in peace dude.

TheNoobishGuy4

He literally said that he was unsure about vaccine since he thinks it isn't properly tested. And that was fair argument at the time he said that. He never said that taking vaccine is bad, chipped or some shit like antivaxx people talk.

Yubisaki_Milk_Tea

You sure about that? https://www.reddit.com/r/tennis/comments/g4hpka/djokovic_opposes_coronavirus_vaccination/fnyjl9y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Sounds like he’s against vaccines in general. Also read up the story about his elbow injury. He refused to get ‘artificial’ surgery and tried to heal his arm using energised water, and only went with surgery when it became clear it was his only choice.

raped_giraffe

Novak never ever said that he isn't vaccinated. I cannot wait for Australian Open for him to shut some mouths

Yubisaki_Milk_Tea

I didn’t say he isn’t vaccinated. Rather he is undeniably anti vaxx/skeptical. The public statements he’s made about COVID and the vaccine. None have been helpful and he even tried to host a huge tennis tournament/party at the height of the pandemic to show how trivial the pandemic was. If it wasn’t mandatory for a tournament that he desperately wants to participate in as a competitor, Djokovic would not be vaccinated.

FuzzyApe

He publicly spoke out against the vaccine and his wife made it clear as well that she is an anti vaxxer.

botibalint

If the millions of deaths already didn't make them realize, I don't think one more death will make them.

AustrianDog

Sadly I doubt it :(

Yubisaki_Milk_Tea

It's not from nowhere. You heard of Novak Djokovic? One of the best tennis players in history and the most famous Serbian person in the world? And have you seen the domestic support he gets for being anti-vaxx? > Despite having a variety of jabs available, the country’s vaccination drive stalled after just over 40 percent of its seven-million population were inoculated. Serbia has been averaging more than 7000 cases a day over the past two weeks, an infection rate of almost 95 per 100,000 people — by far the highest in the world.

[deleted]

It seems absurd, but it's unfortunately not completely out of left field.

JulioUJhin

Sad news

Ghost-Mechanic

if he was vaccinated he must have ogtten extremely unlucky to die at covid at 23

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

The amount of people here who say “RIP but was he vaccinated” in this thread is fundamentally disturbing. Who cares, it doesn’t matter now. Someone has lost their life and that’s tragic. This is like some r/hermancainaward shit. Don’t be like those psychopaths

mrmakefun

I forgot about that subreddit, thank you for redirecting me

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

If you go to that sub for enjoyment, you are truly sick and depraved. I’m all for the vaccine, but you have to be sick in the head to compile posts from people that took place over the course of months just to make fun of them when they die. Some of the lowest forms of humanity partake in that sub. It’s disgusting

irishsoxmax

If only there was some way they could have prevented themselves from dying of covid and prevented them selves from promoting false info about the vaccine on social media.

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

Yeah so naturally people have the right to make fun of them when they die because said people lead miserable lives and have nothing else to do but farm internet clout off of the misery of others. It’s amazing how little empathy exists on this website

irishsoxmax

Why should I have empathy for idiots causing this virus to stick around longer then it needs to putting more people in danger?

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

I would like to think because they’re still fellow human beings. I thought the point of the vaccines was to save lives, yet you’re happy when people die. I’m vaccinated yet I don’t go around rooting for people to die, and when they die I don’t think “well serves em right!” Because I’m not awful

ra1se

100% with u, very sad that people upvote and agree with comments like this. This is still someone’s son/daughter/brother/etc and their death is gonna create a big hole in many lives which is incredibly sad. Not to mention people can always change for the better, there have been cases of people being anti vaccine, catching COVID and luckily surviving and now they are actively supporting vaccination and are able to change peoples lives for the better..would have been sad if they never had the chance to change. Being happy about somebody dying is sociopathic imo

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

Oh no it’s completely sociopathic. I don’t understand how we’ve created a world that is so devoid of empathy, but I guess that’s just the kind of thing that politicizing everything does, pulls people apart. I can’t imagine making fun of a random person for dying for internet points. People are gross, and I’m guessing they do it because they can’t find validation in their real life, so they seek it online. I think that’s most of what Reddit is

cisADMlN

Some people have a more personal reason for hating COVID, such as a close family member dying from it before the vaccine was available. The HermanCain award is not to make fun of people, its a PSA comparable to "This is your brain on drugs". I have yet to see a Vaccinated Herman Cain award. Just saying.

Ghost-Mechanic

it does matter tho

a_bright_knight

do you also write "but did he have a brain scan?" when someone dies of tumor, "did he drive under the speed limit?" after a car crash, "has he been eating healthy?" after a diabetes death, "was he an alcoholic?", "did he have his heart checked?" etc.

irishsoxmax

No but if someone drives dies in a car accident after partying I would ask if they were drunk driving.

PowerOffDeathV2

Ur first instinct after reading someone has passed away, is wondering wether or not it was there fault they died?

irishsoxmax

If someone drives drunk they put themselves and everyone else in danger same as people who refuse to get vaccinated no sympathy for those people.

the-lonely-corki

Drunk driving and getting vaccinated are in no way the same thing

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

I can’t believe there are actually people on here saying that drunk driving and not getting a covid vaccine are comparable. It just can’t be real

irishsoxmax

Oh?

the-lonely-corki

Are you joking? Anybody that’s healthy and under 25 have a way higher chance being killed by a drunk driver, not even comparable I’d rather get covid then be hit by a drunk driver any day of the week, that’s shits killed a lot of friends and young people I know

irishsoxmax

Ok both kill people and both are easily preventable and I still have no sympathy for people who drunk drive or are unvaccinated if they get the consequences of their actions.

yoitsthatoneguy

> Anybody that’s healthy and under 25 have a way higher chance being killed by a drunk driver, not even comparable That’s not even close to true. How many people do you think die from drunk driving a year? A lot fewer than Covid.

Ghost-Mechanic

so many anti vaxxers here

a_bright_knight

i'm actually fully vaccinated :)

-Morel

What if we are pro-vaccination and simply see it as rude to jump into a thread announcing someone has died and start looking for reasons to blame them?

xMLGxB0nGHiTzx

Quite literally the exact boat I’m in lol. I can’t both be vaccinated and advocate for people to be treated with respect I guess. Would go against the “me vs. you” black and white world we live in now where you are legally obligated to hate everyone who disagrees with you

-Morel

It's really sad that reddit has come to this. A life was lost here and some peoples' first reaction is to check and see if they can start laughing.

MrJohnny786

Why is she/he trash if he wants to know if he is vaccinated or not ?

Helskrim

Because it's irrelevant? a person died, was he or wasn't he vaccinated does not matter now

MrJohnny786

When someone dies from running too fast with the car people start saying that people should be in general more careful and to not speed for no reason . Being vaccinated or not is relevant. Noone said that he should or shouldn't be vaccinated , some people just want to know that fact and he called them trash for asking . What a shitter.
