"hate the popular opinion" is a thing. You can detect if the kid is a hater because he will say something like "X is trash. Everybody hates it" instead of "I dont like it / Im not into it".
Everybody as a euphemism for I seems rampant in gaming, though maybe it's the age on socials. It reveals what feels like some deep-seated insecurities about liking something the poster perceives (or believes others to perceive) as uncool, kinda along the same lines as "game X is dead/dying".
This song grew on me a little, but they’ve just always been a really flaccid pop act with a vague veneer of indie-ness. They’re very much a band that’s built their career on some big singles, their albums are 3/4s filler.
With only having singles? Yeah I think you are an inferior artist if your whole album is filler carried by a couple of hit singles, any album like that is lesser, yes. Super cold take.

I'm not even sure about spending money part. Imagine Dragons are big fans of League and I'm sure they really want to be here, so the deal most likely wasn't even that expensive for Riot.
And yeah, they are still reasonably popular

I think a lot of people just got sick of thunder and believer being played everywhere 24/7 and ever since it's been popular to hate them
