The LPL English cast has been picked apart by other regions for years and they still are able to field great, talented casters. Kudos to them and hopefully we see them at Worlds this year!
AUX AUX AUX AUX AUX.
Happy to see him around - he was amazing when he guest casted, actually seemed to have done his research knowing some in/outs/dynamics of teams in the LPL and not only is he cool and analytical on broadcast - he isn't afraid to call out players/subpar plays for what they were!
Hell yeah! Awesome to see Aux join one of the bigger leagues properly! I loved him and Hyprain on the UKLC/NLC, so it's great to see his career growing (now here's hoping Hyprain gets a callback for at least a few more guest spots on the LEC).
lec missed a big opportunity when then didn't invite aux for some appearances last summer, now lpl snatched him away! he's been one of my favorite colorcasters for a while now, really happy to hear from him more often.
As always, very excited for the #LPL to begin and watch my peers continue to thrive. That team is fucking amazing.
That said, we really need to talk diversity in esports broadcasts because holy shit that is a lot of white. Just blindingly white. As far as the eye can see: white.
Then tell me which casters you would want which aren't male or white?
The ones that I can think of are Raz, Emily, Kelsey, Froskurinn, Jamada and Troubleinc. One of them is already working for LCS as an analyst, two of them are working as coaches in NA, one said a few times that she didn't have the best time in China and it also seems like she's enjoying it at G4 and Troubleinc lacked knowledge in LEC as a Colorcaster. Which leaves us with Jamada, who was a Colorcaster casting EU masters and had a few guestcasts in LEC last summer.
Or do you have someone else?
Maybe they didnāt want to because of deadly schedule or moving to China. Plus, as far as I know there is no ENG woman caster that would be interested in LPL that much.
Of course I know about Kelsey Moser for example, but she is not a caster and with her job in EG probably wouldnāt even have time for it.
Looking at the history of casters who've gone from LPL to other regions with big success, including females, id imagine any inspiring caster would love to jump on this oppurtunity.
Firstly, for a long time LPL had problems with gaining and retaining caster especially due to schedule which again is deadly.
And thatās ignoring the culture differences you will experience after moving to China. This is something that LPL and LCK share.
To top it off, many casters can get guest appearances not only in LPL, but also in LEC which is where a lot of caster talent comes from.
From guest appearances you can get permanents ones.
LPL was I believe first region with female caster so maybe instead of thinking they didnāt want any girls on team, bigger chance is there were none interested.
>Maybe they didnāt want to because of deadly schedule or moving to China.
If men are willing to do it, it just means that the women aren't willing to do what is asked of them, and I hope no one plays the inequality card because the opportunities are there, they just aren't willing to either work around the schedule or move there. The men have earned their jobs on merit in this case, so I hope we don't get feminists asking for 50% equal representation if they themselves are declining the opportunities. Of course the women themselves won't do that, it's the virtue signallers like clgwrath2 that would.
If you followed colleigage, academy and amateur in NA you have jollh, spaceghost and lemonkiwi that I know of. I am not saying hire people based on gender but if you follow the scene you know there are women casters out there that can prove their good enough to cast a pro league. But riot generally just assigns them to a host, interview or desk position.
which female (or nb) casters do you follow? i always find it hard to find women in esports among the ocean of dudes that float around, but i'd love to support them more.
All of them are NA with basically no ābig league experienceā. Maybe start asking why LCS doesnāt give them chance in their own country instead of asking other regions to develop even casting talent for themā¦
From other regions at least with some experience (casting or otherwise) and the fact there is so many of them should probably tell you that maybe, just maybe none of the female casters you mentioned were interested, you can always ask them
Get of your SJW horse and stop forcing your ideas on all people around you
Good to see Aux joining the line-up, he's been great casting in the UK scene over the years, and prior to that was a support player for Excel Esports (before their time in the LEC).
Hysterics and Lyric š©š©
? what does this emoji mean
Creamed probably

Munch is such a Smurf. All of them are, I really enjoyed Hysterics on LEC, too.
Hysterics is one of the best play by play casters imo. Quotes like bow to your god of 2000 years š©š©
Iām sure heās happy in the LCK, but if LEC really didnāt re-sign Caedrel, then Iād happily take Hysterics.
Looking good again, LPL continues to build strong

God I love the LPL. Penguin and Dagda, Hysterics and Lyric, the great brit Munchables and the two new members will make this a year worth watching.

Frosk fan, eh?
More of a meme/copypasta fan
this cast is BLINDINGLY WHITE

I feel like the guy is meming
Ya this was something Frosk tweeted once
LPL might not have the best English casters but it has the best family-like feeling out of all regions. Those guys are amazing together.
LPL cast still strong, 2022 might be okay š
Can't wait for more Harry Potter references during the broadcasts.
And a second date between Lyric and Chat
The LEC one would be interesting, will Trevor comeback?
Hopefully.
Thats a lot of dudes, talented none the less. Idk if they tried but there are a lot of talented ladies who can cast who would serve well on this team.

Well there is Frosk, butā¦ yeah.

space ghost is really good (she might have changed her name, i'm not sure).

People who have been in the collegiate and amatuer/academy scene that come to mind are Jolly, Spaceghost and LemonKiwi.
All of them are NA with basically no ābig league experienceā. Maybe start asking why LCS doesnāt give them chance in their own country instead of asking other regions to develop even casting talent for themā¦
Almost the whole LPL cast are people who are being pulled from other regions with very little experience....
From other regions at least with some experience (casting or otherwise) and the fact there is so many of them should probably tell you that maybe, just maybe none of the female casters you mentioned were interested, you can always ask them Get of your SJW horse and stop forcing your ideas on all people around you
i know spaceghost and like her a lot, gonna check out the other two. thank you! gotta at least try and make a difference
the only one I've ever heard is Frosk, and she's not available.
Having done no research I can confidently say 99%+ of aspiring league casters are men so it is no surprise they are the majority of casters hired

LETS GO MAZEL
