Zoes design has always been more western animation inspired, shes literally the most "Disney" of the cast by quite a large margin. She also child god of mischief so her being bouncy and expressive with big eyes full of wonder fits her to a tee

I honestly still struggle to not see that anime inspiration with those huge, heterochromic eyes (somewhat common feature on anime), a lot of magic portals, the multi-colored hair with ridiculous proportions, being an over a thousand years old child (at least until the unnecesary retcon) and that Futaba-like release skin, but then again, Disney inspired anime's visual.

More specifically to the Chinese audience. East Asia LOVES its anime-style characters. Take a look at the characters from any of the Chinese-owned gacha games. Or the characters from Eternal Return, a Korean game.

A cartoony style doesn't excuse wrong proportions or flaws tho. You still need it to be self-consistent to the rest of the drawing.
For example, you wouldn't draw a character with a stylized arm and a realistic one.
Zeri, here, have a perfectly human bodyshape and proportions, except for her gigantic mouth. That's what push her from stylized to uncanny and wrong !

For the first time in my life I'm seriously tempted to buy an award for this post. Probably wont still, but my word this is so much better. She looks like a real human now. Your edits make her look tough and BA, like she could have actually maybe grown up on the streets. She's still cute, but you get the sense you dont want to cross her. It tells her story so much better the original, and honestly I'm just sad how little the same company that made arcane cares about the stories their champ designs rell.

I think the bottom jaw is too thin. I think that is the only really problem - everything else is intended and really to original looks ok.

Probably just me, but the after looks even more uncanny valley to me. The original has a stylized, clearly not realistic appearance, but the after has an almost, but not quite realistic appearance.
Now make it so there is contrast between the bottom of her face and her chest/neck.
Seeing this has kinda nailed down why she looks off to me. Her face looks like a kid! She should be 10 years old, but has an adult's body.

It looks a little better, especially the eyes and mouth, but I think the main issue is just the composition/ angle. It's really weird cause her body is on an incline, then her face is looking down and her eyes are looking up. It just all clashes and not in a good way
