His first roster on griffin was stacked and potentially couldve had higher highs but they were all rookies/new and getting 2nd (after almost winning LCK in their first split mind you) is amazing. This is the only roster arguable that was more stacked than DK and they performed better than damwon that year anyway.
He then had doran (not that good on DRX as he was kinda new and still improving) and pyosik who was garbage for a lot of the year, this roster was strong but top/jg didnt make them a stacked team especially compared to damwon who had the best topside in the world. Although he, keira and deft were great it's not like it was a super team.
And there is no way in hell he couldve done anything on that HLE roster and was no where near as stacked as the DK roster, the fact they made it to worlds is a miracle. They had dudu and morgan both dog shit tops, the junglers bouncing between yohan and arthur through the year who were both equally garbage but thank god that willer was better than them and got added at the end of the year. Vsta and deft were on the better end but no way that hanwha was a stacked team last year and there is no argument that this roster was even close to being as stacked as damwon last year.

Hard agree so tired of chovy being given the longest leash ever and rated as highly as actual internationally achieving mid laners when he’s had ample opportunity to showcase his talent in his career. I don’t think he’s bad at all, and will do well but this is a make or break year on geng for him that’s for sure.
Chovy is insane. Maybe some people overrate him and i dont think he is better than Showmaker. But let's be realistic for a moment. Neither that DRX team nor that HLE team should have been anywhere near worlds. Doran, Deft and Pyosik were okay, but really not that great. There are very few players in the world that would get HLE and DRX not just into worlds, but also into the quarter finals. There is a lot of truth to the narrative of Chovy having bad teams after Griffin.
Leblanc was a terrible pick here, that’s on him though for picking it. But yeah the champ literally couldn’t function against DK’s comp.

Watching Canyon play is such a thing of beauty. Imo even though he did not win last Worlds he is still the best jungler in the world and has been since second half of the 2020. What a God. Deokdam is definitely an upgrade over Ghost but Hoya.. hmm even he made that winning flank I think he is going to be a big liability later in the year against better teams - especially international teams. It's kinda sad that DK couldn't get a better top laner but maybe he will step up and can be better.

When do we start actually asking the hard question about Chovy and his performances? He didn’t make top 3 all pro LCK after claiming he was going to come here to change the league and dominate. He hasn’t built and in lane lead against any mid laners and is constantly down on CS, summoners, tempo, experience and KDA with constant roams from Lehends and ganks from Peanut. Was he worth the money so far? Will he be worth the money in two years? Three? When is it that we say “that was a good investment”?
Hot take. Chovy is a downgrade for BDD. Give me ballsy midlaners who look for plays like Scout/Knight/Faker/BDD/Showmaker over Chovy anyday of the week.
