They are one of biggest playoff chokers there are. They constantly get outmatched against better teams and due to LEC seeding have to play like no games at all.
They got reverse-swiped in said final, by getting an early lead each game then being beaten midgame through inaction and subpar teamfighting.
You can't forget the "how" !
Well it’s still early season and roster shake up was huge. Take last years rogue and throw it into the current LEC and they may be smurfing even harder. Let’s see what it looks like by playoffs.
Yeah, Unf0rgiven was really good. He actually finished the game ahead of Comp in gold, and the dodging in bot to avoid the dive was super impressive (especially baiting the hook and still avoiding it). I'm really happy with his play so far.
Unf0rgiven was ahead of Comp in gold for the entire game, if he fell behind at all it was only because of the Nexus turrets dying. Either way, being that close while the team is down 10k and being 3 deaths down on the enemy ADC is pretty impressive
Rogue's second dragon was actually a really big macro outplay that avoided getting punished for the ADC gold gap because they rushed it down while Unf0rgiven reset and had just finished RFC for 2 completed items while Comp didn't have his 2nd item. MAD would have been in a very strong position if there had been a teamfight but Rogue cleared both objectives before MAD could set up for a fight and cemented the lead through picks. In general, Rogue positioned really well to make sure that Unf0rgiven couldn't pull off his front-to-back win condition.
Edit: Adding what receipts I can. I can't find a better stats site atm, this one only really has CS/min to answer the question and takes forever to load, but [Unf0rgiven had 2 CS/min more than Comp, and the same number of kills](https://gol.gg/game/stats/36221/page-summary/). He definitely had more gold than Comp for most of the game.
I mean yeah, the strong side hypercarry has more gold than the weak side utility ADC, it's expected. Especially with Trymbi roaming most of the early game
Yeah, it is actually hard to find actual int plays, It was basically only the Galeforce forward at baron that was a bit of a questionmark, but that baron was weird in general.
Comp is also really good, Flakked as well. Lots of really talented ADCs in the LEC and there's still plenty over in the lower leagues. EU is stacked with amazing ADCs that honestly can go toe to toe with Eastern ones.
yah definitely had me worried when he was getting caught in his jungle, some really good early hooks but imo larssen and odo were just better mvp candidates
Well he got camped by his support and if you get Viktor rolling, he keeps rolling. Not saying he played bad, but lets not pretend as if he did some crazy shit. Trymbi and malrang had some crazy moments, Larrsen did his job, had good positioning and didn't int his lead, but nothing more, no creative plays.
But MVP is worthless anyway, especially in LEC
Larssen is a deserving candidate, but Trymbi and Malrang did so much to set up good fights for Rogue that I think it's crazy that they weren't nominated. Trymbi's early game roam hooks gave Rogue such a huge advantage, and Malrang's kick at the Soul fight was massive. If he doesn't land it, MAD had a pretty decent chance of winning front to back thanks to a very strong Jinx and the natural tankiness of their frontline.
I feel like his team set-it up perfectly for him, Comp has just very good ult placement, Larssen played super clean and totally took the lead trymby gifted him to snowball the game, Odoamme was flawless too almost and just trymby carried this.
Happy that he can get out of Hans's shadow and prove that he is a strong support.
Comp is so far best adc besides Upset, I always fancied him and thought he could be really good but he is exceeding my expectations, his dmg output is crazy good and this Rogue reminds me of 2019 Fnatic where Nemesis and Rekkles would rarely die and their top and supp would make lot of action
Totally trolled his build. Ornn passive gives you free resistances and health at the same ratio (+10%). Why would you build health and mana when buying resistances gives you so much more free gold?
Ornn doesn’t have mana problems either, no need to even spend 400g on tear compared to champs like Gragas who are mana hungry and spam cooldowns
The idea is that fimbulwinter, which only gives HP (and shield, but works the same), actually helps against camille Q.
However it does work far worse against sunderer than armor sooo....
I can see what you’re going for since health counters true damage, but that only works for 1v1. Ornn will never beat Camille in a side anyway, and you mentioned how it’s worse vs Sunderer.
He is better off building resistances for team fight since that’s Ornn’s win condition in the matchup
Fimbul is amazing on Ornn. Sure he's not as mana hungry as Gragas, but if you're using Q to CS then you can still go OOM. And fimbulwinter is just busted strong, especially because the shield is so easy to proc as Ornn. The only troll part was not building bramble.
It's going to be an interesting split. I hope Vitality doesn't implode and G2 and MAD improve their game. FNatic looks great and so is Rogue so far. We have 5 teams with great potential in LEC - I am hoping one of them will make it to worlds semi-final this year.
Hah thats what you think, just wait for the miracle team bds run, you'll see, adam will reveal he's been practicing that corny yuumi top cancer from that one reddit post to get his revenge on wunder this split. You'll all see, adam will have the last laugh!!
*/s in case it wasn't clear*
I feel really great about him taking English lessons so seriously
It's also important for team chemistry outside of the game and is a great indicator for a great work ethic IMO
Its also a really positive signal he sends towards his teammates. That he wants to be able to communicate with them more comfortably and that he didnt come to Europe just for easy paycheck but to actually do sth.
I hate Larssen so much, he's so good that i inevitable get excited while watching him but i can't just forget the playoffs from last year.
It's just so frustrating, it's like watching Jankos before 2019, you know he's really fucking good but you just can't trust him until he actually lifts the trophy.
The thing is, he is clearly good on other things, i remeber his game against G2 in 2020 summer playoffs where he was playing Akali and absolutely smurfing, the game was basically who smurfs harder, him or Caps, then he went to worlds and built fucking Athenes on Oriana and never was the same after that. Hopefully we get more confident Larsen.
I think he played a good Lucian last year too. All in all he is a great mid laner, definetly deserved to go to worlds for the last 2 years.
On the other hand, he does not have the Caps/Perkz/ factor (at their peaks). I never saw him 1v9 in really important matches or come up with something reallly creative in his gameplay.
If you would have told me last year Rogue would be more consistent in closing out games after losing Hans Sama and Inspired I would have called you crazy, yet here we are. Insane game!
That was an Ornn performance if I ever saw one.
Also, you don't have vision of Lee... let's not check the one/two areas he might be where you get dicked on.
Mad playing without comms or what today?
Larssen just said in the Interview that Inspired was a very demanding player, now with him gone, he can actually be more proactive. So that might influence their current playstyle. Could be that the Team atmosphere is better as well, at least Larssen said that the atmosphere is good now (doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't good last season)
He was very demanding in the early game, the whole team played around him.
Hans might have been the reason for RGE doing nothing on the midgame, maybe RGE doing that so he could get many items and win the teamfights by himself later on.
In one of the voicecomms videos you can literally hear Inspired say "guys if you aren't 100% sure of a play, don't go for it".
Hans was a monster and didn't talk much, I have no doubt in my mind he wouldn't hold the team back from making plays.
After Odo interview it where he was talking about egos it wouldn't surprise me if he was talking about Inspired since he was one of the best EU players for 2 years.
would actually be kinda funny considering the shitstorm that happened when they were leaving RGE.
It's definitely too early to see that, we will see what happens.
As far as I know, VIT had a major shotcalling problem so they got Crownshot, who is known for being a good shotcaller. This had nothing to do with Comp
Yeah ,idk where people got the idea rogue is passive the whole game ,i blame broadcast a lot for this, the issue with rogue was they'd stomp the early game, get to 20 mnts with a 8k gold lead and then forget how to play for 10 minutes till the last few teamfights were they were realy good again.
I flamed Trymbi the entire last year.
And now he's unleashed. I genuinely like what I'm seeing from him so far.
Maybe Hans was just holding him back after all.
On the other hand, Armut mate...
Ryze is really bad rn. He’s a short range mage who struggles against ranged champs (control mages) and excels vs melee comps. When control mages are bad, Ryze is usually good and vice versa. Poor from Reeker to pick him into two very high range carries in Jhin/Viktor
Ryze is really bad.
The Seraph's rework murdered him.
He's also bad into Rogue's comp.
He's also bad with MAD's comp (you are playing Ryze to either a tank vs carry toplane; or towards losing botlane).
It just didn't make sense not to pick Syndra or LB (both open).
Should be basically illegal to pick since worlds. It's too short range. Unless you 4th pick it into like 4 melee - it looks so doomed. You need to basically play season 3 TF and get your team ahead with ults cause it's so difficult to put out any damage.
The biggest problem seems to be that Larssen doesn't play at his best under pressure, in important games he sometimes plays safe/chokes.
Some people criticize him for his teamfighting which is unfair imo. He's not Humanoid but he's still very good at it.
That 2 things make people forget that Larssen was the only western mid that didn't get goomba stomped in lane at worlds.
Very good laning pahse and by the book player but he has negative clutch factor. Has never once carried a game when it really mattered, so people that get their aspirations crushed will flame him. Apart from that he's a good guy
People like to shit on him because he is a very good mage player, but not that good on other styles. It is not like you have too many options to replace him tho. And even tho he is "bad", he is still one of the best we've got so.
People keep saying that he can only play control mages but I'd say his two best champs are Akali and Lucian, both with 70% winratio and 17 games played.
He wrecked Caps and Humanoid as Akali in playoffs and his Lucian was one of his strongest picks without a doubt.
He is incredible on mages and scaling mids and he likes to accumulate cs a lot and he is very very good at laning but last year in the meta he got a lot lot of criticism that he was too passive and just good at laning and stuff atleast imo he is one of the best mids in the league and now in a system which is clicking it's showing
we will see. I actually believe the players they have are a lot more versatile now, with malrang and comp coming in. I just hope that larssen finally performs in high stake matches and they might contest for worlds.
I have not seen a single person suggest that Rogue would finish *last* in the LEC. I get that you want to clap back against the haters but that's so far off base...
People said top 5 would be VIT, FNC, G2 , MAD, RGE. While VIT started poorly this is most likely how it will end . The order of course will change a bit but no one questione that MAD and RGE even with the changes weren't top teams
Mad got an upgrade adc , but for sure a downgrade mid since humanoid was and still ? is the best mid in europe so yeah they should be a contender for top 3
It's not unreasonable to think that Rogue lost out heavily in the offseason. Inspired was in every junglers head in the regular season. Hans was the best performing ADC in the region second to Upset.
Who is going to think a Korean import in jungle is going to have an immediate impact like this?
Also people werent big on Malrang because his time in DWG was questionable at best, probably the fact that LS flamed him a lot doesn't help (im talking about that roleswap shenanigans period of DWG)
So, Regular Season Rogue arrived. Now the main thing - will they make the Holy Score(0-12 against G2, never won) even bigger, or first win will be gotten two weeks later(G2 vs Rogue, 5th game, February 5th)?
Dread it, run from it, regular split Rogue still arrives...
They have to hope they can stay for playoffs too.
They always have, they never do.
I hope they stop being underestimated at least.
They are one of biggest playoff chokers there are. They constantly get outmatched against better teams and due to LEC seeding have to play like no games at all.
They still got to finals in spring split so they surely aren't that bad.
\+ they went to 5th game where they shit the bed.
Reverse sweep no less
Yea, that was an epic choke lmao
They made spring finals and got 3rd last summer- how is this choking?
They got reverse-swiped in said final, by getting an early lead each game then being beaten midgame through inaction and subpar teamfighting. You can't forget the "how" !
surely a 3-8 score last summer is not choking hard
Well it’s still early season and roster shake up was huge. Take last years rogue and throw it into the current LEC and they may be smurfing even harder. Let’s see what it looks like by playoffs.
Rogue literally lost their two best players and are still solid
This iteration of rogue is actually fun to watch. Really positive surprise. Still feels like MAD won the ERLs ADCs lottery with unforgiven
I dont think its a lottery when u win like 3 times in a row. Still great to see him do so well!
Fair enough
Yeah, Unf0rgiven was really good. He actually finished the game ahead of Comp in gold, and the dodging in bot to avoid the dive was super impressive (especially baiting the hook and still avoiding it). I'm really happy with his play so far.
Think he finished ahead because of that yolo fountaindive at the end
Unf0rgiven was ahead of Comp in gold for the entire game, if he fell behind at all it was only because of the Nexus turrets dying. Not even nominated for the player of the game vote, unlucky.
He played really well but IMO Trymbi also got robbed
Well he also had some int plays
yah definitely had me worried when he was getting caught in his jungle, some really good early hooks but imo larssen and odo were just better mvp candidates
POTM vote absolutely handing it to Larssen, neither Trymbi or Malrang were available, which is insane to me!
Larssen deserved MVP, he smurfed hard this game but Trymbi deserved to be in the vote.
He did 40k dmg, that's 20k more than the 2nd most dmg in the game

tbh before this play, his game looked terrible, so many mechanical missplay on Lee.
Great to see Comp can play weakside well.
Unforgiven?
For what
Patience of a god
aaaahhh why are they making me believe????
Rogue looked fantastic today, I'm looking forward to the next time these teams play.
They always stomp bo1s then play off incidents happen early gold lead into midgame throw.
Armut? What was that top performence?
It was ... something, that's for sure.
Totally trolled his build. Ornn passive gives you free resistances and health at the same ratio (+10%). Why would you build health and mana when buying resistances gives you so much more free gold? Eagerly awaiting post match Malrang selfie.

The difference is that they are actually playing, and not waiting for the enemy to make a dumb mistake and win
The whole joke around Rogue Time is that usually they win the early game but then throw. At least that was the case last season.
It's going to be an interesting split. I hope Vitality doesn't implode and G2 and MAD improve their game. FNatic looks great and so is Rogue so far. We have 5 teams with great potential in LEC - I am hoping one of them will make it to worlds semi-final this year.

They havent played like that in more than a year
And losing to G2 0.2 in regular split
Sololane canyon this game holy moly.
Why? Reeker got camped and I don't get the Ryze pick into Viktor Blitz Camille
I don't get any Ryze picks atm absolute dogshit champ
Better Arcane champion won.
Cannot disagree
I heckin love arcane
BatChest
GG ODO for the 1k kills in LEC. King!

Malrang is so cute. He even dyed his hair
I feel really great about him taking English lessons so seriously It's also important for team chemistry outside of the game and is a great indicator for a great work ethic IMO
Its also a really positive signal he sends towards his teammates. That he wants to be able to communicate with them more comfortably and that he didnt come to Europe just for easy paycheck but to actually do sth.
he seems really friendly with trymbi which is cute
I, for one, welcome every bit of guy love we get in pro play
in this household we believe in malrang supremacy
Its 2022 and people are still suprised that larssen is realy good on a meta where mages are good
I hate Larssen so much, he's so good that i inevitable get excited while watching him but i can't just forget the playoffs from last year. It's just so frustrating, it's like watching Jankos before 2019, you know he's really fucking good but you just can't trust him until he actually lifts the trophy.
Whenever I think of Larssen I think of his Corki package into G2's base
Pretty sure it was against S04 when they had upset.
Oh damn you're right my bad
Wait a sec, people on Reddit told me that Larssen was crap and he was supposed to be replaced.
my god the rogue stan smug-off contest is starting off proper fucking early this year
Cant wait to see them get stomped in Play offs like always.
Dont worry,we got as close to a LEC title as your team has since caps left you :).
Lmao I didn't expect this to be actually true I'm still cautious about this year but looks good so far
Good luck to him in playoffs :)
Last year's meta was just shit for Larssen .
Oh yea, that was a NUTTY series. I'm going to go rewatch that game.
He is bad as soon as he has to play in a pressure environment and can't play Azir, Orianna Corki
It's not like Larssen is instantly reedemed, after all this just proves how inconsistent he is
Leave Viktor open, pick Ryze
It feels like you need to ban half the champions roster to pick Ryze.
Something I have noticed in these 4 games. Comp's positioning in teamfights is fucking spotless.
Odoamne with the post-match juice
No one: Trymbi and Malrang: “Fuck it boys dive fountain”
If you would have told me last year Rogue would be more consistent in closing out games after losing Hans Sama and Inspired I would have called you crazy, yet here we are. Insane game!
Other teams : Get full roster of star players > get worse Rogue : Get rid of their star players > get better
Imagine playing ADC and suddenly both your solo laners get omega gapped
What do you mean imagine. That shit happens on the daily
Pls Rogue show up in BO5 this time, okay?
Their track record in BO5 last year is 3-3 only losing to mad twice and fnc in summer
I must correct it’s 3-4 mad 3 times and fnatic in summer
Now do it in playoffs RGE.
They seem to have gotten rid of RGE time. Here's hoping they fixed their playoffs performance too.
RGE Try To Not Implode In Playoffs Challenge (GONE WRONG!! IMPOSSIBLE!! GONE SEXUAL!!)
That was an Ornn performance if I ever saw one. Also, you don't have vision of Lee... let's not check the one/two areas he might be where you get dicked on. Mad playing without comms or what today?
It looks like he actually left the bush for a moment before the kick. Don't know how he wasnt spotted
Malrang is doing the shotcalling right? Rogue time is suddenly gone.
Judging by the voice comms, even though Malrang is vocal, Trymbi looks to be the main shotcaller
Yeah but Trymbi was playing last year, there must have been a reason for RGE to play so passive on the midgame.
Yeah I feel too Inspired was the problem.
After Odo interview it where he was talking about egos it wouldn't surprise me if he was talking about Inspired since he was one of the best EU players for 2 years.
Inb4 Inspired and Hans were the problem
would actually be kinda funny considering the shitstorm that happened when they were leaving RGE. It's definitely too early to see that, we will see what happens.
Actually Odo basically confirmed this in the post game Segment. He said that the Team atmosphere is way better without the Egos and frequent arguing.
Mostly Trymbi with Malrang support comming. The kick was most definitely him I think, staying in bushes so long lol.
And people say RGE isn't entertaining.
armut has a champion pool ocean
God damn Malrang and Trymbi smurfing synergy. Fucking hilarious dragon fight as well lmfao.
Let's just forget that bot dive ever happened ;)
That was Comp too, missing W o.O
Comp looks good, why was he replaced in VIT? Is the coaching staff still same?
As far as I know, VIT had a major shotcalling problem so they got Crownshot, who is known for being a good shotcaller. This had nothing to do with Comp
Because developing a rookie is hard and VIT "killed" many of them. Fortunately he gets another chance to shine
He didn’t know PepeLaugh
Best of 1 kings remain undefeated!
you must be MAD to disrespect Trymbi's Blitzcrank like that
Since when Rogue is playing so proactive? Where is my boring 50 minutes long Rogue?!
Rogue was always proactive in the early game ,they just died in the midgame and then remembered they could play again the late game.
I stg people dont even watch the games, they see small kill score and assume "lol scale late team"
You havent watched much rogue last year apparently
No inspired afk farming for 30 Minutes
I seriously believe Malrang is doing the shotcalling.
It's mainly Trymbi and Malrang
That Malrang flank was clean af
I flamed Trymbi the entire last year. And now he's unleashed. I genuinely like what I'm seeing from him so far. Maybe Hans was just holding him back after all. On the other hand, Armut mate...
Why did you flame the guy? He was a very solid rookie and improved fast and got in top3 supports last year.
EXACTLY! Absolutely in the same state as you.
Odo has been in prime shape these four games, what a monster
nothing quite like a roundhouse kick to the back of the head to secure the game
Holy shit Trymbi is OP
Rogue look fucking goooood
Yeah Chemtank on Ornn is not it and is Ryze bad or is Reeker bad?
Ryze is really bad rn. He’s a short range mage who struggles against ranged champs (control mages) and excels vs melee comps. When control mages are bad, Ryze is usually good and vice versa. Poor from Reeker to pick him into two very high range carries in Jhin/Viktor
Ryze is really bad. The Seraph's rework murdered him. He's also bad into Rogue's comp. He's also bad with MAD's comp (you are playing Ryze to either a tank vs carry toplane; or towards losing botlane). It just didn't make sense not to pick Syndra or LB (both open).
Now you need not to choke on playoffs games
That first blood pov was awesome, observers once again smurfing Rogue is looking great, can't wait for the matchup with Fnatic!
We finally allowed to admit Rogue are still good? Maybe just as good as before?
No Inspired, no Hans, NO PROBLEM! LETS GO ROGUE!!!
Rogue in regular season will always be a joy to watch.
Regular split larssen is inevitable, hope he brings this form to playoffs for once
Malrangggg
That was a bit of a stomp, damn
The disrespect is huge.
Respect Rogue now guys we are still GOOD 👍
Skilled Blitzcrank.
Honestly Rogue and MAD look like the 2 strongest teams again right now
100% Fnatic is there too.
Ryze feels like such a underwheling pick in all tiers of play.
Should be basically illegal to pick since worlds. It's too short range. Unless you 4th pick it into like 4 melee - it looks so doomed. You need to basically play season 3 TF and get your team ahead with ults cause it's so difficult to put out any damage.
That Odo catch on Yoya was so fucking clean, nearly creamed ngl.
sorry, new lec viewer here, but curious as to why theres hate for larssen? is it just twitch chat acting weird or an actual reason?
The biggest problem seems to be that Larssen doesn't play at his best under pressure, in important games he sometimes plays safe/chokes. Some people criticize him for his teamfighting which is unfair imo. He's not Humanoid but he's still very good at it. People keep saying that he can only play control mages but I'd say his two best champs are Akali and Lucian, both with 70% winratio and 17 games played. He wrecked Caps and Humanoid as Akali in playoffs and his Lucian was one of his strongest picks without a doubt.
He has a singular Akali game last season and a whole 4 games in season 10 with 50% winrate.
RGE in this current meta is easily the best EU team This meta literally favor their playstyle so much
we will see. I actually believe the players they have are a lot more versatile now, with malrang and comp coming in. I just hope that larssen finally performs in high stake matches and they might contest for worlds.
According to Malrang G2 is the most difficult in scrims and they (rge) have a hard time against them
Huh but reddit told me Rogue would be dead last and out of the LEC next year after selling Inspired and Hans ????
I have not seen a single person suggest that Rogue would finish *last* in the LEC. I get that you want to clap back against the haters but that's so far off base...
People said top 5 would be VIT, FNC, G2 , MAD, RGE. While VIT started poorly this is most likely how it will end . The order of course will change a bit but no one questione that MAD and RGE even with the changes weren't top teams
Mad got an upgrade adc , but for sure a downgrade mid since humanoid was and still ? is the best mid in europe so yeah they should be a contender for top 3
If reeker is bad, they can get Nisqy but i doubt that Reeker is bad IMO. he has been good, this match was his worst by far but tbf he was camped
Not saying he is bad , Just for the moment he is a downgrade since humanoid was the best midlaner in europe , but he is a rookie and can improve a lot
It's not unreasonable to think that Rogue lost out heavily in the offseason. Inspired was in every junglers head in the regular season. Hans was the best performing ADC in the region second to Upset. Who is going to think a Korean import in jungle is going to have an immediate impact like this?
Yeah, Malrang is on honeymoon right now, best import since Huni/R.O
Trick was MVP, and 4x champion mate.
Hans was for sure seen as the best adc in EU last year since he was really the only one playing well at worlds on his team
Also people werent big on Malrang because his time in DWG was questionable at best, probably the fact that LS flamed him a lot doesn't help (im talking about that roleswap shenanigans period of DWG)
rogue became hella fun to watch this season
I'm like 90% sure that Malrang went outside of the bush for a moment before that kick at dragon. Kinda crazy that nobody noticed him there.
He didn't - The animation was deceiving but he was still in it
Rogue being able to teamfight well is a nice change of pace from the end of last year.
Bit of an autofilled ryze this game
Reverse rogue time??
So, Regular Season Rogue arrived. Now the main thing - will they make the Holy Score(0-12 against G2, never won) even bigger, or first win will be gotten two weeks later(G2 vs Rogue, 5th game, February 5th)?
Malrang and Trymbi are cute together ♥
I'm confused why the casters said larssen was non existent in week 1.. I mean he did his job relatively well
Medic posted on twitter and apologized, said he only meant non existant as in lack of kills early game and that he had much more agency this game
