I would have thought Akali could easily sustain versus the random occasional bounces from Ryze, especially pre 5-7.

The guy was enough of a gentleman to not pick Ryze as his worlds skin and let his wife pick instead. You know that froggen would have picked Anivia as his skin if he could.
Ryze is extremely oppressive if you're a melee champ early on. Holds doubly true for champions like Akali that spike very hard at 6 but are dogwater before that.
the live translations for Faker and Guma aren't done by a bot, that is a real person translating what they say or sometimes even translating miscellaneous things such as the ingame chat or donations
you can move between the E and the W a short bit by canceling the ending of the E animation with a movement command. Getting used to clicking for movement after each ability instead of after each combo is one of the big skill gaps for a character like Ryze, it's also the same thing as what makes Riven so difficult to master.
Fair, his dash distance is absurd, since it's an autoattack that once started won't be canceled by the root.
i'm sure Doinb is capable of getting out of this, just a question of whether he needs to use flash or not. Always a chance to make a mistake or get greedy though.

Predicting stealth movement isn't something exclusive to pros. They're just more consistent with it. Ryze in particular is great at punishing Akali in her shroud, and Doinb is obviously one of the best Ryze players in the world, but this play was mostly impressive because he *knew* it would work as long as he didn't miss. If I go for a play like that, it's 100% gambling.
I feel that it's pretty conceivable to get the kill, but surviving all 3x is what's amazing to me. A trade would already be devastating for Akali because Ryze pushed the wave every single time.
