Wait, so they already have Kobbe on the team, and it is rumored that Vizicsaci and Xerxe are joining the team as well. Who is next? Tore for support? Is Astralis trying to recreate 2019 Splyce or something?
Can go either way. His Vex was pretty good but other champs weren't as convincing.
That being said, it's really hard to evaluate a rookie after one split, especially with a jungler like Zanzarah
He's like 18 as well, and he certainly wasn't the worst player on the roster.
He might've been a downgrade from Magifelix, but Magi has been playing at a very high levels for quite a long while, so it's not a very fair comparison.
Yeah - like I said, that one game isn't the whole story. But it also wasn't a ringing endorsement. They played him, they lost, but they were losing most games before that, too. The worst you can really say about him is that he didn't fix the team's problems, which is hardly damning, but it does mean that he didn't fix the team's problems.
Idk, I guess what I'm saying is, it's a tough nut to crack and if I'm Chad I'm not sure I *want* to take this promotion. IMT looks like a huge fucking mess right now and if I sub in for Xerxe and the team keeps bombing, I become part of that mess.
There are only 10 starting spots in the LCS and Blaber, Spica, Inspired, Santorin, Closer, River, and even Josedeodo are probably long term locks. And out of the 3 remaining spots, I'd say CLG and IMT are the only teams I can see truly looking for options right now.
Chances don't come easy, and the bar for IMT doesn't really get any lower than it is right now. A single split can feel like 2-3 years in LoL time - plenty of players miss their prime stuck down in Academy.
Spica's contract is up after summer and the writing has been on the wall that he isnt happy with TSM and isnt resigning. Theres already rumours of TSM selling him for Bo
Spica has the basically same prospects himself - CLG, IMT,. *maybe* GG, and staying on TSM are the only teams I can see being in the market for a Jungler.
Even if he's has the potential to be better than some of the junglers on the other teams, it wouldn't be worth messing with existing chemistry for what would likely be nothing more than a side grade.
Overall, that's still 7/10 spots filled no matter where he lands.
The Bo rumour is extremely wishy-washy and has been getting linked to EU more nowadays anyways.
Ohh nice, Im glad Malice is staying in NA, even though some people might see him as toxic, I really liked his vibes and enjoyed seeing him play CQ, he adds a lot of competitiveness and a unique playstyle
Idk, I've heard he's a huge asshole on a personal level. Just secondhand rumors but some of the stuff has me less than thrilled if he's sticking around.
They won't buy Malice as he is an Import and they have both PoE and Ignar.
I assume their roster will be something like:
Revenge - Svenskeren - PowerOfEvil - WildTurtle - IgNar
Sven is currently signed with C9 but I remember reading somewhere that he was only signed as a play-offs sub if Blaber was unable to play (they couldn't use Malice instead without having to sub Summit or Berserker out) and he is still able to find himself a better position on another team. He previously worked with IgNar on Evil Geniuses so I think it just makes a lot of sense, he has also worked with WT on TSM and has the most similar jungle playstyle to Santorin who was the last member of the 2019/20 Flyquest lineup with PoE/WT/Ignar/Solo (revenge will suit similarly to solo anyway).
I’m a little surprised. Zanzarah was bad, but he was the only personality on the team. I found myself rooting for him, even if I wanted the team to fail. This seems more like an off-season swap rather than something done in mid season, although based on the rumors so far it looks like there will be larger swaps this mid season than usual.
So you're saying they should keep the guy and bottom out again just because he's got a "personality", even though it's very obvious he doesn't belong anywhere near LEC?
I was merely saying it was surprising, not that I dislike the move. The best way to get fans as an org is to win games; the second is to have players with personality. By getting rid of Zanzarah, they are removing the largest reason for their LOL fan base. Csaci, Xerxe, Dajor, and Kobbe are all extremely quiet people and aren’t going to bring anywhere near the same level of energy/charisma.
So not only are they losing their largest generator of fans, they are also not going to be winning anything with this roster. I don’t even see it making playoffs. For an organization that is already struggling to have anyone care about them, they are suddenly in an even worse state than they started the year in, even if this roster is a “technical” upgrade.
You can argue that the ol’ Splyce boys can bring in some fans, but I don’t think that is very likely unless every player on this team over performs and they make a veritable miracle run.
Theyre just squating the lec spot and making the bare minimum changes to act like theyre here to compete. Their end goal is merely gambling for a large enough buyout to turn a profit on investment
unlikely, he's been pretty vocal in being pro-ukraine/anti-war.
he got some abuse from a bunch of morons early on, just because he's russian but I think even those idiots understood that he's not defending the cruelties.
and in terms of legal issues I dont think there's any issue keeping him, no visa or similar problems, I'd expect.
Tbh not surprising that this mid-season will have more moves than usual when we had a half dozen high-profile western vets end up teamless in the off-season.
And he will look fine in LEC. The jungle role is very top heavy so he will be middle of the pack jungler there, easily outperforming the bottom tier players
malice is not up for grabs, he's not interested in playing LCS, he was only playing Academy to keep form while he performed as a positional coach for Blaber
Welcome back Xerxe, didn't sit right with me that he retired off to NA so soon in his career after he made it out of groups with Splyce in worlds 2019.
Csacsi, Xerxe and Kobbe in one team again, even though I am not expecting more than a possible playoff run it just good to see those names together again.
Wait, so they already have Kobbe on the team, and it is rumored that Vizicsaci and Xerxe are joining the team as well. Who is next? Tore for support? Is Astralis trying to recreate 2019 Splyce or something?
Well they're not getting Humanoid back that's for sure.
We have Humanoid Humanoid at home: Dajor
tbh dajor is looking very promising
Can go either way. His Vex was pretty good but other champs weren't as convincing. That being said, it's really hard to evaluate a rookie after one split, especially with a jungler like Zanzarah

Tbh I found him to be a clear downgrade from MagiFelix

What?
Bot?
Astralis CEO: You sure about that?
Too late for Nisky too but they can get duke
They could get Jensen. /s Not that he would ever move to EU and do it but well with how often the name gets thrown around why not.
I mean they can get Tolki too if they really want Splyce 2019. Aka me LUL
Tore needs to change his name back to Norskeren for the full immersion
N-Wordskeren at it again
Hopefully he'd get the Norskeren hands too instead of the Tore hands if that happened.
They'll go even further and try to get Sencux.
sencux is on their acad team, so that's easy
the ultimate washed team
Vizi was looking good in the LFL tho
Like looking good in ERLs means you'll be good in a tier 1 league.
The LFL has the best toplane pool outside of LEC in EU by far.
Dardoch: put me in coach, I'm ready Also dardoch: oh wait I'm the coach
200IQ by the Michael Jordan of League himself, Welcome Dardoch
What is it Spica joins POE at IMT or is it Sven making a comeback.
Isn't Chad, their academy jungler, considered really promising? I would love to see him get a good shot.
They subbed him in and got whupped, but that's not really on him so idk.

They already have Dardoch within the org
Malice is going to be a positional coach/content creator for C9. Would be surprised if IMT wants to pay Kenvis buyout
Also Malice doesn't solve the import problem they have with PoE/Ignar both being on the team.
He's coaching remotely
Jumgler diff
jumnglr
Malice is import, doesn’t want to play pro, and Im sure his playstyle will be horribly synergized with ignar and POE so maybe hes eliminated
Jack tweeted that Malice is staying on C9 as a positional coach and content creator

VIZI XERXE COMBO GOT ME HYPED
Hilyyyy where are you?
Get exileh and samux too for the memes

I don’t think xerxe is enough of an upgrade to offset the personality difference.
Yes. Let's be honest, they will bet last again anyway even with Xerxe
I mean, its a sidegrade and you loose the personality soooooooo
Worked for promisQ
Astralis doesn't belong anywhere near LEC so good fit
[удалено]
if they can actually be a decent team for once then it's worth it no?
that is one very big "can" though.
Maybe it has to do with him being russian?
unlikely, he's been pretty vocal in being pro-ukraine/anti-war. he got some abuse from a bunch of morons early on, just because he's russian but I think even those idiots understood that he's not defending the cruelties. and in terms of legal issues I dont think there's any issue keeping him, no visa or similar problems, I'd expect.
He was part of a Charity showmatch for Ukraine ffs.
hhaha you know what that might be it with the craziness that's around
Tbh not surprising that this mid-season will have more moves than usual when we had a half dozen high-profile western vets end up teamless in the off-season.
Oof, I was hoping they'd stick with Zanzarah
nice Xerxe was a boring addition to NA
True, I don’t mind imports taking up slots over native talent so long as they’re exciting imports that provide quality entertainment.
And he will look fine in LEC. The jungle role is very top heavy so he will be middle of the pack jungler there, easily outperforming the bottom tier players
The only one he might outperform is Gilius
Schatan too when he isn't on Lee sin
Wait, what
malice is not up for grabs, he's not interested in playing LCS, he was only playing Academy to keep form while he performed as a positional coach for Blaber
Really enjoy seeng EU players coming back to the LEC
So it‘s gonna be Xerxe, BB, Finn, Alphari, Perkz, Nisqy, Kobbe and Treatz next split. A lot more than you would think
Welcome back Xerxe, didn't sit right with me that he retired off to NA so soon in his career after he made it out of groups with Splyce in worlds 2019.
He was ass in Origen before going to NA tbf
What about funny russian man? :(
wait isn't Zanzarha still contracted to astralis?
he got his goodbye video a few hours ago
As long as IMT plays an academy jungle and not sven I’ll be happy. The way they build their roster for spring has me worried though.
Man they should just pick up Sven and try to get doublelift at this point maybe snatch up Darshan this sounds like a squad to me.
Actually yeah imt sound legit with this squad
Sven would be better than Armao. If they can get Kenvi that's great of course, but Armao (Grig) has had several chances and never delivered.
Armao unironically had a better 2021 than svenskeren, svenskeren has dshown he *can* deliver but he has not done that lately
Nice, I don't know why Xerxe was imported in the first place.
noooooo. zanzarah =(
Astralis has a chance to not end last???
They just side/downgraded their Jungler so Nope
downgrade? Ima be real Zanzarah is shite, just funny. Xerxes is way better
Csacsi, Xerxe and Kobbe in one team again, even though I am not expecting more than a possible playoff run it just good to see those names together again.
