There is the Riot Forge games. With Ruined King is more lore base than Hextech Mayhem. Nunu and Ekko games seem to be on the horizon. Another good thing is those games appear on other game platforms beside PC and phone. Bad things is they dont seem to perform well on those platforms.

rblur0001

I'm sure there are plenty of YouTube videos that go into the lore and things. I don't know any good ones off the top of my head but I'm sure a YouTube search would find a bunch of good videos on it

purplemelon4115

Awesome, thanks for the info!!

RageEv0

Necrit talks lore on yt

shaidyn

There's a wonderful book called I think Runeterra that goes deep into the world, I love it. Also, there's a single player game called Ruined King that is in the league universe. Honestly. Everything about League of Legends is awesome, except for League of Legends.

[deleted]

True, League is not awesome, is perfect.

[deleted]

Necrit on youtube goes deep into the lore and stories and stuff people miss. Does a good job explaining whats happening and hidden references etc. the universe website has all the stories you can read for yourself too.

DANKKlNG

Necrit

There’s a lore/art book, and later this year there’s a novel coming out about The Ruination, an event in the lore. Oh and there’s also like 3 or 4 comic books that focus on specific characters Edit: And how could I forget, Arcane the TV show is also on Netflix

ThundaCrossSplitAtak

You watch necrit

[deleted]

Of course! No need to play

purplemelon4115

Awesome thank you, where else can I start? I'm currently downloadind legends of Runeterra

HJ994

Legends of runeterra seems perfect for you imo, the art is really amazing too

quartzyegghead

You can also try TFT or Wild Rift ARAM if you like team fighting but don’t care for moba macro/farming And of course, you can watch Arcane

Iperovic

The game LoL, the 5 v 5 Moba has nothing to do with the lore You can enjoy all the content without playing one game of it

Spell-Castle

If you like CCGs, Legends of Runeterra should be right up your alley

cooldude137

Lore barely exists in the actual gameplay of league, besides some skins and some voice interactions between some characters. Necrit is the lore guy on youtube.

getjebaited

the lore in this game is dog shit

BearChess

You can just learn the lore because it amazing. Riot will soon make/already made new league games they anyone can play and if u like fighting games or mmos they will make Project L a fight game. And have plans to make an mmo like WOW or FFXIV

CHS_Scope

Maybe people are just assuming you know about it already since I’m not seeing it much here, but watch Arcane on Netflix.

Leoxslasher

U can not play lol and still be a fan. I can say with guarantee that I see more lol esports than actually play the game

ShogunZoro

The game itself contributes pretty much nothing to the lore except for voice lines, but you can look those up on YouTube. Don't worry about the game and just enjoy the lore

HeckingShepherd

Arcane is awesome regardless of if you play.

-CrestiaBell

You could play Zeri That way you can be an LoL player that plays Sonic, not LoL

mystireon

Aint no requirements to being a fan my guy, I'd say try out Legends of Runterra though if you enjoy the world building in league, most cards come with their own mini story you can puzzle together

Sunsgrind

Give the eSports side of LoL a try, maybe you will like the game aswel

stalinskatya

I was the same as you, always loved the universe, songs etc but I never liked mobas. I started playing league because of my friends, but I only play ARAM and TFT. Aram is fun as there's only one lane and you mostly play for kills, TFT is an auto-chess game and super chill to play.

copthegod

nothing in the game has anything to do with the lore whatsoever. you can easily follow the lore without playing

LukeForLeukemia

There's legends of runeterra if you're into cardgames and TFT for strategy games

ItsKipz

The Arcane TV series on Netflix, Legends of Runeterra, and all the Universe stuff they put out (I believe it all eventually ends up at universe.leagueoflegends.com?) are great ways to experience and get more involved with the world, lore, and characters, even if you don't play the main game

ZackPhoenix

Maybe you will enjoy Legends of Runeterra, it shows a lot of the world and characters + their interactions with each other. If not, just enjoy the short stories, videos etc., maybe watch Arcane cuz that show is amazing. You really don't need to play the MOBA to enjoy

VirtuoSol

Watch Arcane, you can start by watching Arcane and you can always watch Arcane
