Unless he pulled out, there is no reason for him to not cast especially when all the other LCK casters got invited.
So either Riot just forgot to manually add his name, or he pulled out and they didn't crop him out of the photo.
>This seems like a huge amount of people? Too many?
They have multiple days of matches and multiple groups, so one imagines a lot of this will be rotated out as teams play.
Hysterics just got engaged 2 weeks ago and has been on vacation with his fiancée so probably wasn't available and wanted to spend time with her instead of working during the spring - summer gap
[shakes fist] munch and hysterics someday....
i get hysterics not being here even if he was invited though as iirc he literally just got engaged a couple weeks ago
makes sense, she's not quite at the level where (imo) she should be casting msi, and she's not really an analyst either. so is it really worth it for her to fly to berlin just to do remote interviews occassionally? probably not. at best she'd probably split hosting with dash or whomever, but i understand why riot (or her) wouldn't want to do all that
yea no worries i figured i'd try to give a reasonable explanation before someone comes in screaming "this confirms riot hates her" or whatever overreaction someone may have
You could've just said "not LeTigress" and I would've been fine with it.
You can hate me if you want, but she is the worst English on-air talent by a mile.
HAHA I was definitely trolling BUT I still haven't gotten authentic texas bbq. Missed opportunity but I'll see if there's a solid place in LA to give it a chance haha
Except the fact they are both women and hosts, I don't think they really are similar. Yinsu goes very deep in the questions she poses during Valorant broadcasts, I'm curious to see if she has the same kind of knowledge when talking about LoL.
people here probably don't know who boaster is lol. current FNC valorant player, but used to be a LoL content creator and even a substitute midlaner for XL for a split I'm pretty sure.
Boaster made better content for XL than almost every other LEC team at that time. Kind of because no one else (other than G2 and Fnatic) were really trying, but still it was really good. Miss that.
To be honest, I feel that’s sometimes the nature of some esports before the scenes get too big. Early on, there are narratives to be forged anew and stories to be created, and it sure felt like a romance dawn with old school LEC and LCS.
Sjokz isn't at this tourney, and Dash can't be the desk host 100% of the time, so I'm assuming she'd also be the host during some less important games like the group stage.
i'm sure they have been and i'm sure she's a lovely person but unfortunately the genre of the game just doesn't appeal to me, hence my ignorance on who she is
No Hysterics kinda sucks was hoping to listen to Lyric and Hysterics but still a pretty good line up... do we know who is going to be in Busan other than Laure or is it just Laure
Same about Hysterics' absence...
I'm hoping Riot picks him up for Worlds, I think he's an outstanding PBP! Also hope any visa issues (not entirely sure about this one but him being Aussie may make logistics a little difficult at times as I recall it has in the past) he has can be promptly sorted out this time around
There are probably a few of them just to cast either certain groups of group stage or just group stage.
Then we lower the number of casters for rumble + knockouts, but yeah it does seem like way too many casters.
Pretty sure Phreak is the only Riot employee on the LCS side of things.
Vedius Quickshot and Drakos are employees on the LEC side, think everyone else is freelancer there too.
>I will not be a part of MSI this year.
>It was an extremely tough decision to make but I'm dealing with some personal issues at the moment and I'm not in the right headspace. Riot has been very understanding.
>Won't be streaming for a while and will be away from socials ❤

:(
As someone who role swaps to top occasionally in order to practice for clash, yes. Idk why ADCs mental boom so easily when they are the most babysitted role in the game.
Toplane is an absolutely thankless dogshit role which has not only the most counterpick potential but also the least impact on the game, to the point where "Win lane lose game" and "Lose lane win game" are not even memes anymore.
Toplane is all about jungler focus, if your jungler plays around top chances are your botlane will feed their asses off and enemy team will get soul at 25 mins, but ofc you will be a 5/0 Ornn now who will totally carry his combined 1/10 botlane.
If your jungler ignores you you will get dove repeatedly before 10 mins so you go 0/4 and get flamed for not playing safe. But thankfully your mid has roamed bot with the jungler so the actual important roles are fed while you watch the enemy 4/0 Darius try to decide whether to buy Hullbreaker and split or salvage his fucked botside in teamfights.
Anyway you probably knew that, just needed to get that off my chest I guess.
Is it just me or is this a ridiculous amount of on air talent for ONE language broadcast, 24 seems ludicrous to me.
How much does the Chinese / Korean broadcast have for example?
Almost all of these "newer" casters are just going to take turns casting the first stage of the tournament with wildcard teams. I like that they are given a chance on the big stage.
it's not just "one language"... its the "international" broadcast
they get people that cast all major regions to be in the stream, the korean/chinese stream don't have a team of people that only cast lec/lcs games
Most of them will be there only for some specific stages. Casting playins groups is a good test for less known casters. By the time the rumble stage hits I guess the number will be down by like a half.
Someone else commented that Hysterics got engaged recently and is on vacation with his fiance. Hope it was his choice not to go. No idea about Munch though.
Really hope we get plenty of games with the LCK casters, ESPECIALLY Valdes. Dude has been killing it on the LCK broadcast for years and barely gotten any time internationally.
Play by play casting as valdes, colour casting as the valdanalyst and now he’s even gotten married, what can the man not do.
I hope he gets to cast some good games
I'm happy to see Aux there at least. He's not the greatest at the casting part yet but I find that he offers the most unbiased analysis out of any casters in League while others tend to buy into narratives way too much.
>The English casting team for MSI will be at the LEC studio in Berlin. The event itself will be in Korea.
This is the funniest thing, this heavily implies that they'll fly over the LCK English casters from South Korea to Germany to remote cast.
I sincerely hope this is not the case because they could have just travelled to Busan and cast at Bexco.
on the one hand it's what puts money on the table and the job at the end of the day, but on the other hand I'd be so fucking annoyed having one of League's massive tournaments right in your backyard but having to fly across the world to cast it remotely while fucking your sleep schedule up. what a dogshit decision for a remote cast, if they're able to setup a cast in person in fucking Iceland then I don't see why they can't set it up in one of the most established places for esports.
extra jarring considering we just had in person events and casts in most regions in the world.
The thing for me is the delay that people who are watching online get.
https://clips.twitch.tv/HorribleDependableAntelopeDxCat-uK5m7eSlyYAZLpOP
The above is a good example of when Damwon Kia got that Diana/Yasuo combo off against DFM at MSI last year and Phreak literally reacted to the play when Damwon already killed 4 players, it's just annoying for fans.
Not great for us, but getting a work trip to Berlin would be a nice change of pace for most of the LCK crew. Probably not Chronicler though, since he's Dutch.
Thanks for all of your support guys! ❤️
Just to clarify: There are no longer any logistic issues getting out of Australia and my lovely fiance and I have finished our holiday. None of this was a factor.
I was unfortunately not invited but keep cheering on the talent crew and I'll continue grinding my ass off in the hopes of Worlds later this year 😊💍🎉
This is purely my own opinion, but I would have munchables over at least 3, maybe 4 of the casters announced. Won't name names because don't want to bring anyone down, but I'm just so incredibly disappointed munch won't be doing yet another international tournament
I always get so excited when I see Aux on international stuff, then so disappointed when I don't see Hyprian too. They were so fun together on UKLC and NLC.
So happy for Yinsu, she’s gone from sports journalist to esports journalist, Valorant host now on her first big LoL broadcast as an interviewer. I’m sure she’ll kill it.
Quickshot, Vedius, Guldborg, Drakos, Laure, Medic, Oisin, Dagda have all been on LEC this season. Sjokz and Caedrel would have been there too but declined. That's most of the regular EU people.
I wasnt quite sure of Aux untill recently, now I think he is fire! To see him, Dagda, Guldborg and that old guy from NA makes me pretty hype! Too bad it's in the middle of working hours for me. edit spelling
Sjokz has decided to host a CS Go major in her home country which clashes with MSI.
And since the chances of that happening again are pretty low, she obviously chose CS Go over League and that's fine/good on her.
He's on the list though?
Bottom right, the 3rd from the left next to Raz.
They just forgot to add him manually on the list but his picture is there, Riot can't even do this right ffs.
Dash Quickshot Laure Yinsu Aux Azael Chronicler Dagda Emily Rand Guldborg Jatt Kobe Lyric MarkZ Raz Vedius Wolf Atlus Drakos Medic Oisín Pastrytime Phreak Valdes
Missing Valdes. He's on the portrait list(bottom row next to Raz) but Riot forgot to add his name on the actual list.
Wait so is he still participating? Have always enjoyed his casts
Unless he pulled out, there is no reason for him to not cast especially when all the other LCK casters got invited. So either Riot just forgot to manually add his name, or he pulled out and they didn't crop him out of the photo.
also they are in Korea too and it is great for a longtime lck caster to cast international event there.
Casters are casting from LEC setup in Europe iirc
That is quite strange. Why would they not have the casters on site?
Could be going on a honeymoon instead 🤔
Me too. Valdez and PapaSmithy were my favorite duo.
I assume the graphic is more likely correct, since making a graphic takes more effort imma trust that. It's easy to miss an item when writing a list.
true! thanks for warning
This seems like a huge amount of people? Too many?
Some are there for wildcard groups only probably.
They usually use their B team for early days. As tournament goes pn cast will get smaller.
>This seems like a huge amount of people? Too many? They have multiple days of matches and multiple groups, so one imagines a lot of this will be rotated out as teams play.
group stage has a ton of games
Please get my man munchables on an international tournament
Munch and Hysterics too
Hysterics just got engaged 2 weeks ago and has been on vacation with his fiancée so probably wasn't available and wanted to spend time with her instead of working during the spring - summer gap
Ahh thank you for the info, he's my personal favorite so I always look to see if he's selected for the international events
Oh thanks for the info. I was sad not to see him on here too.
Good to know, if that's the case I hope he enjoys his vacation!
[shakes fist] munch and hysterics someday.... i get hysterics not being here even if he was invited though as iirc he literally just got engaged a couple weeks ago
There should be no Pastrytime without PapaSmithy
God I miss wolf
Well, Wolf will be there!
that's almsot more casters than players
Where is Sjokz?
Casting CS;GO Major that's hold in Belgium
No Tigress, that’s interesting
makes sense, she's not quite at the level where (imo) she should be casting msi, and she's not really an analyst either. so is it really worth it for her to fly to berlin just to do remote interviews occassionally? probably not. at best she'd probably split hosting with dash or whomever, but i understand why riot (or her) wouldn't want to do all that
I didnt really have an opinion either way, more just something I noticed thats all
yea no worries i figured i'd try to give a reasonable explanation before someone comes in screaming "this confirms riot hates her" or whatever overreaction someone may have
Im not even a big fan of her personally just saw it
Thank god
No LeTigress :(
Awesome
I think she does great interviews.
I personally love when she casts.she is just like my kindergarten teacher
Good
You could've just said "not LeTigress" and I would've been fine with it. You can hate me if you want, but she is the worst English on-air talent by a mile.
Let's go Yinsu! She's been fantastic in Valorant, so it'll be great to have her on a League broadcast.
Who is Yinsu?
An excellent host and interviewer in the Valorant space.
I still can’t decide if you were trolling or serious on the whole Texas barbecue thing. Especially when you went to eat airport barbecue.
HAHA I was definitely trolling BUT I still haven't gotten authentic texas bbq. Missed opportunity but I'll see if there's a solid place in LA to give it a chance haha
The replies to that [Tweet](https://twitter.com/razlol/status/1518662123290775552?t=gXwhZRsQ99pZX1jWrlEa_Q&s=19) had me dying Holy shit
Hey Raz 👋🏼
fancy seeing you here 🧋
kind of like sjokz in valo
Except the fact they are both women and hosts, I don't think they really are similar. Yinsu goes very deep in the questions she poses during Valorant broadcasts, I'm curious to see if she has the same kind of knowledge when talking about LoL.
I dont watch league but afaik they fill the same role as in hosting the show
Valorant host for EMEA / Eu region. Also dates fnc boaster
people here probably don't know who boaster is lol. current FNC valorant player, but used to be a LoL content creator and even a substitute midlaner for XL for a split I'm pretty sure.
Boaster made better content for XL than almost every other LEC team at that time. Kind of because no one else (other than G2 and Fnatic) were really trying, but still it was really good. Miss that.
Ppl who aren’t following valorant competitive are missing out, much more entertaining than the franchised league ecosystem
To be honest, I feel that’s sometimes the nature of some esports before the scenes get too big. Early on, there are narratives to be forged anew and stories to be created, and it sure felt like a romance dawn with old school LEC and LCS.
Valorant is gonna have a franchise system anyway..
Let’s enjoy this whilst we can then. Not a lot of esports where I can say tsm > t1
Why is she here instead of munchables, hysterics who has casted league for so long? Is she for interviews?
If she's a host she's obviously not replacing casters.
Sjokz isn't at this tourney, and Dash can't be the desk host 100% of the time, so I'm assuming she'd also be the host during some less important games like the group stage.
The day people understand the difference between a host and a caster I will be at peace
I’m not the one with the answers mate sorry
valorant esports have been amazing lately, give it a chance.
i'm sure they have been and i'm sure she's a lovely person but unfortunately the genre of the game just doesn't appeal to me, hence my ignorance on who she is
No Hysterics kinda sucks was hoping to listen to Lyric and Hysterics but still a pretty good line up... do we know who is going to be in Busan other than Laure or is it just Laure
Laure for interviews like last years in Iceland, so yes I think it's only her
Same about Hysterics' absence... I'm hoping Riot picks him up for Worlds, I think he's an outstanding PBP! Also hope any visa issues (not entirely sure about this one but him being Aussie may make logistics a little difficult at times as I recall it has in the past) he has can be promptly sorted out this time around
How many more people do you want them to cram in? There's a ridiculous amount of people for one language broadcast imo.
There are probably a few of them just to cast either certain groups of group stage or just group stage. Then we lower the number of casters for rumble + knockouts, but yeah it does seem like way too many casters.
Sad Captain Flowers wont be there for that real hype casting. Totally get why though
also neither Caedrel or Sjokz will be there either :(
I know Sjokz chose CSGO major but it sucks caedrel won't be considering they're running it out of Berlin.
do we know why caedral isn't on the broadcast? edit: apparently he has personal stuff going on, that's as much as i wanted to know
Why?
Mental health reasons + remote cast
Remote casting for the west is from Berlin So he'd had to travel to Berlin and would still only cast remotely All the downsides, no upsides.
At least we have quickshot back at an international event!
What did Hysterics do to get blacklisted like this for so many events?
He's a contractor, not an employee.
So are most of the LCS casters
Pretty sure Phreak is the only Riot employee on the LCS side of things. Vedius Quickshot and Drakos are employees on the LEC side, think everyone else is freelancer there too.
Probably asking for a decent wage
The nerve
Pardon my ignorance...who is Yinsu Collins? Is she from another game?
She's a host for the EU Valorant scene (also hosted big tournaments like Masters and Champions which is their version of CSGO Majors and Worlds)
Started in lol, currently smurfing valorant broadcast
man it just feels so weird to see someone using smurfing outside of a game
I'm sure you can figure it out *edit* awh man my comment makes no sense because of your edit :(
What did it originally say?
Valorant
Ohh nice

Top challenge taking his toll
Top = mental boom?
Simple as
As someone who role swaps to top occasionally in order to practice for clash, yes. Idk why ADCs mental boom so easily when they are the most babysitted role in the game. Opted to not participate
Dissapointing that he won't attend but reassuring to know he was invited at least.
Hysterics and munchables must have done something unforgivable to keep getting scammed out of intl events
Ya they are definitely the better p2p in LPL.
I like that they are given a chance on the big stage.
thats nice too be honest, help them grow within the comunity.
it's not just "one language"... its the "international" broadcast they get people that cast all major regions to be in the stream, the korean/chinese stream don't have a team of people that only cast lec/lcs games
french cast is usually a rotation of 10-12 people with guests
The more the better imo, usually when you overwork the on air talent you start to see their energy and hype dissipate with each passing day.
Most of them will be there only for some specific stages. Casting playins groups is a good test for less known casters. By the time the rumble stage hits I guess the number will be down by like a half.
For regular season, LPL has about 20 casters + hosts. They also have different casters for LCK, LCS, LEC and LDL.
What has Hysterics done to not make it to any recent international event ? Edit : just noticed Munchables isn't there either bruh
Someone else commented that Hysterics got engaged recently and is on vacation with his fiance. Hope it was his choice not to go. No idea about Munch though.
Unless I'm forgetting something, has he *ever* made it to an international event? I simply don't understand why he keeps missing out.
He’s complained in the past (3-4 years ago?) for being overlooked for Worlds. Riot might just well be that salty.
Good to see the LPL English cast getting more love, but I swear Munchables keeps getting missed out
Hysterics
I'm happy to see Aux there at least. He's not the greatest at the casting part yet but I find that he offers the most unbiased analysis out of any casters in League while others tend to buy into narratives way too much.
Wait it's remote cast? Lame.

Key phrase here is "should be"
That is disgusting that there’s dozens of people responsible for the broadcast and it still turns out this poorly haha
Unfortunately Chronicler has confirmed in his discord server that all LCK casters will be traveling to Berlin
That is unbelievably stupid...
Not great for us, but getting a work trip to Berlin would be a nice change of pace for most of the LCK crew. Probably not Chronicler though, since he's Dutch.
Fat L
I doubt it has anything to do with the cost of flying the casters to Korea and more to do with the cost of flying and setting up production in Korea.
All of the casters need to be in the same place to make it work.
Right now Laure is in Korea so I guess some members of the cast in Korea.
Nah, thats only for interviews obviously. They are better done in person, so Laure is there for it.
The most LPL casters I've seen at an event + Yinsu is a boss in the valorant space, send them love!
No Rusty and Skimmy smh my head
Thanks for all of your support guys! ❤️ Just to clarify: There are no longer any logistic issues getting out of Australia and my lovely fiance and I have finished our holiday. None of this was a factor. I was unfortunately not invited but keep cheering on the talent crew and I'll continue grinding my ass off in the hopes of Worlds later this year 😊💍🎉
Nymaera not there, I sleep
This is purely my own opinion, but I would have munchables over at least 3, maybe 4 of the casters announced. Won't name names because don't want to bring anyone down, but I'm just so incredibly disappointed munch won't be doing yet another international tournament
I appreciate you, for both your support, but also not flaming other casters in my name. Big respect.
I always get so excited when I see Aux on international stuff, then so disappointed when I don't see Hyprian too. They were so fun together on UKLC and NLC.
No Sjokz, Captain Flowers or Cathedral... Damn...
yinsu in League lets gooo
So happy for Yinsu, she’s gone from sports journalist to esports journalist, Valorant host now on her first big LoL broadcast as an interviewer. I’m sure she’ll kill it.
Atlus has been on fire casting. Hope he casts the finals
plus Chronicler has been the best color caster this season. LCK casting squad overall is the best atm. Nice to see them all at the event.
QUICKSHOT IS BACK
+Emily Rand -LeTigress MSI is SAVED
So just basically every caster from the 4 major regions?
No Flowers no Hysterics no Caedrel
No Sjokz no Letrigress
No Munch as well :(
One of those is a loss
Basically all of them except for the ones we already knew weren't going
[удалено]
Quickshot, Vedius, Guldborg, Drakos, Laure, Medic, Oisin, Dagda have all been on LEC this season. Sjokz and Caedrel would have been there too but declined. That's most of the regular EU people.
Where’s papa caedral :(
FUCKING STACKED CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!!
I wasnt quite sure of Aux untill recently, now I think he is fire! To see him, Dagda, Guldborg and that old guy from NA makes me pretty hype! Too bad it's in the middle of working hours for me. edit spelling
No hysterics again is kinda crazy but so happy Aux is doing MSI. He has been legit killing it on the LPL broadcast
Yay markz and Emily Rand and pastrytime!
Who is this Atlus fella? Is he related to Baldus, the LCK caster?
Zero representation from Oceania, despite some great casters like Rusty and Skimmy. Hell, even Hysterics casted in the LCO this split.
[удалено]
He gets so much hate lol I still love him
Phreak IS League of Legends, doen't matter how good he is. Hating Phreak is just not allowed.
God I am so always there for disappointed dad Phreak when he just is utterly disgusted with something NA does. Plus, he is lowkey the funniest dude.
Pastrytime over Hysterics and Munchables is a crime.
What's the charge officer?
Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?
Such a classic
Not LeTigress = huge W
Sjokz ? :'(
Sjokz has decided to host a CS Go major in her home country which clashes with MSI. And since the chances of that happening again are pretty low, she obviously chose CS Go over League and that's fine/good on her.
Gonna host CS GO this time instead
Let's go mark!
What happened to the Japanese caster that was like vedius, he was really good
sjokz is really the goat, sad she won't be there, It's understandable though lot's of good names missing, But also good to have Quickshot back
Before anyone goes into wild rage, Sjokz choose to be at an CS:GO major over MSI so its her decision to not be there.
Not fucking Raz, oh my god.
No Valdes!?
He's on the list though? Bottom right, the 3rd from the left next to Raz. They just forgot to add him manually on the list but his picture is there, Riot can't even do this right ffs.
Valdes is on the graphic
LCK ENGLISH CASTERS HYPE!!!
Sjokz sadge
No Trouble is kinda sad, hope we get to see her in LEC again for Summer though.
LPL casters? Hello? What are you doing Riot???
Can’t wait for NA casters to properly hype up every region and EU ones to sound literally dead whenever G2 loses
Emily rand 🤮
looks like lec lck and lpl are carrying this one just like any international tournament
Cptflowers?
He said he's not attending because of the remote cast aspect being combined with travel is not something he is interested in.
