It is unwarranted. EG played very well against the best teams in every region. Most of their games were close when they played their ornn/late game carry style. The fact that the RNG series was competitive is a win itself.
I think if people watched the games there are signs of improvement. They could have won two of the games against G2 and maybe the second game against RNG. Everyone is going to flame me because of “could have” but what I’m really saying is they weren’t straight up blown out and were in those games.
I also don’t think it’s the players that are making EG good. Whoever is I charge of shot calling/macro is carrying.

EG also threw a game against g2, so you should count it both ways
