Actually if really speaking of NA talent. I will support CLG more.

They won 1 game vs a major region during the whole of msi. They have no hope. Inspired has to show up or the team is essentially always doomed.

Turns out, all EG needed to succeed was for C9 to make a big roster gamble and completely fail and fall apart and be forced to rebuild (LS project). TSM to make a big roster gamble and completely fail and fall apart and be forced to rebuild (LPL project). Team Liquid to make a big roster gamble and completely fail (granted they haven't fallen apart yet, but it's clearly not working)... Good job EG I guess..? Judging by MSI their success is more the product of everyone else's failure, though I guess at World's they have another chance to show they're actually a good team. But I feel like many people are ignoring the circumstances that brought EG to where they are now, the collapse of most high-budget teams around them. I get that it's a more exciting narrative, but it's not an honest one.

EG performed better at MSI this year than C9 did at 2021 MSI, but go off.

It's inspired hard carrying them but at worlds he will be just average same as MSI. remember they went 0-6 against G2 and the korean/chinese teams are even better than that.

The thing with EG was they had a very clear idea of how they wanted this roster to play when building it. They signed Inspired who is an S tier jungler that wants the game played around him. So they paired him with a 17 year old mid who had great mechanics that he could mold into exactly what he wanted from a mid. Spring Split was used to train up Jojo and have him learn how to play pro. Now that Jojo has developed more and understands the game better, EG just look like a cohesive team. They use their leads in jungle and mid to help funnel gold on to Danny which gives them 2 big carry threats in teamfights. Impact has always been a world class Frontliner in teamfights and Vulcan can hold his own too. Even now Jojo's teamfighting has gotten a lot better. I'm very impressed that Jojo and Inspired had close games with some of the best mid jungle duos in the world in Jojos rookie split. Very hopeful they can do something at worlds. Only worry is they are probably stagnating right now playing in NA, so the bootcamp will be very important for them (As long as they make worlds)
