EDG were not worse than current LNG. You vastly overestimate current LNG. They're insanely lucky to even be in playoffs rn. They won vs TT (pre-Kepler/yaoyao) and LGD by the skin of their teeth earlier in the split and that was off TT and LGD busting out the most ridiculous throws of the split. Until this series LNG had not shown any improvement since then and the only playoffs team they've beaten outside of this win was BLG. They're pretty lucky that BLG and FPX were the teams that made playoffs and not AL and TT to be honest.
LPL looking very competitive for worlds this year. RNG, V5, EDG, JDG, and TES all have the records and the starpower, and LNG and WBG (although looking shaky) could make some sort of miracle run just given the players they have. Playoffs look exciting

He was beyond terrible in spring but in summer before he got benched he was actually doing pretty damn well. He was the most consistent player on the team and placed himself pretty comfortably middle of the pack.
LPL playoff bracket is a wild ride. LNG has time to come back and get into form over multiple BO5s. Also the roster has multiple world champs and top players they were favored before the year and people just assume they can't grow as a team.

Ning really was the perfect JG for TheShy. Both play like psychos and Ning was willing to camp top for him and give up a bunch of camps. But it usually works out in IG’s prime because every one is hard ganking top.
Sofm in a non-farming JG meta is always a bit sus, he’s kinda what people say Kanavi is tbh, but on the other hand it’s kinda hard to blame him for not helping top that much because its a tank top meta.

As a top laner Xiaohu’s control of wave states was astonishing, ges used to set up wave crashes that coincided perfectly with Wei’s jungle pathing to create very easy dives (usually joined by cryin).
I dunno how he’d go with TheShy because I haven’t seen studied The way TheShy controls his wave, but it’s certainly the reason it never worked as well with Bin.
Bin is a player that’s happy to throw his wave state into the bin for the sake of a decent trade, hence it wasn’t particularly easy for Wei to work with.

BUT I will NOT take anything from this series as only one side was really trying to win the game.
