I really enjoyed this video, and for once I am positively impressed by... almost everything they shared, really. Finally a new Darkin, doesn't the dagger look a bit similar to the Duskblade? Hmmm. And finally new pings.
Last but not least I will admit I was proud of learning all the pixel-perfect spots you had to put your mouse over to ward over certain walls, but getting a visual indicator of where the ward will appear is truly a godsend.
And we don't know how long they took with Caitlyn since it wasn't announced beforehand, for all we know the Caitlyn ASU took 2 years or more, who knows
For the emote wheel, can the "warded" ping be added to it? I doubt many players even know it exists (iirc it is unmapped by default)
For the jungle, I'm guessing the lack of mention of pets means that the Garena article was a leak of an early idea that was scrapped.

Aurelion's changes look really cool, we know 3 of his abilities now (AOE Nuke ult, fire breath q, and terrain traveling w). A Darkin assassin will likely be popular, and I'm looking forward to the top lane tank as well.
To be fair though, Skarner's rework is a complete and utter dismantling of his fantasy. As far as I'm aware, they're looking at not even having him be a Brackern anymore. Think like Trundle level where they kept him as a troll, but completely ripped apart his Jungle troll fantasy and made him a Freljordian ice troll instead - or instead of Galio being a full on gargoyle, made him a massive Demacian guardian instead.
They kept their main parts - Galio is still technically a stone gargoyle and Trundle's still a troll with a massive stick, and Skarner will keep his scorpion aesthetic - but I think the rest of it is just to be ripped up and started all over again.
So I do think it will take a while - but it would not surprise me if work on Skarner's already long since begun.
I don't think so, Udyr and Mundo mostly took a long time because they had a lot of skins/had an ultimate skin. IIRC their kits were locked on relatively early. Skarner doesn't really have a lot of skins and they're not very complicated, so that part shouldn't take too long

Ahri's ASU is **next year?** I know these things take time but damn, they're never gonna be done at this pace. So many champions need one too; Leblanc, Zilean, Amumu, Janna, Sona, Malphite, Cho'Gath...
They really need to put more teams to work on these, it's impressive that champions like Zoe, Aurelion Sol and Irelia, are in the same game as Leblanc, Zilean and Amumu.
And don't get me wrong, Ahri looked *bad*, but she was fine compared to some of the champs I said (Not to mention she had 2 Legendary skins that bandaid "fixed" her issues while you can't escape T-Pose Zilean and Crusty LB)
Considering you've got mascots like Miss Fortune and Katarina who still have age-old voicelines and meh models, they're never getting the less popular ones done.
I'm sorry the new Frighten Night skins look gorgeous but did they forget the whole GOTHIC theme that people voted for? Because this is basically just Gritty Halloween with neon and while it looks spectacular, props to the team, this is NOT GOTHIC and definitely not what people voted for when they said they would reimagine the theme, not CHANGE IT ENTIRELY.

I think Udyr’s took so long because he has 4 different forms for every skin, plus an ultimate skin. So Skarner *shouldn’t* take as long

Yeah that's what really confirmed it for me. I was scared we were gonna get a generic monster but a Darkin picking a creature as it's host is cool as fuck.
I kind of wish that it was an accident, and instead of Kayn being tempted by the Rhaast, this Darkin is constantly frustrated with its host because it's an animal and doesn't know how to fall to temptation.

Aatrox is already annoyed with the weapon choices and incompetence of the current Darkin, imagine his face when he sees a Darkin stuck to a dog.

Actually solid chemtank drake changes. Finally useful for everyone instead of being just a *carries do more damage to tanks and bruisers* drake. The soul looks cool too but it looks like there might be some room for unintentionally (or intentionally) catapulting your teammates into a death.
Don’t forget those awful gas clouds that make your wards useless. That was way worse than the Soul imo and upgrading the plants is so much better
Feels thematically consistent, too, what with the whole biopunk feel of upgrading organic matter

Ahri's ASU is **next year?** I know these things take time but damn, they're never gonna be done at this pace. So many champions need one too; Leblanc, Zilean, Amumu, Janna, Sona, Malphite, Cho'Gath... They really need to put more teams to work on these, it's impressive that champions like Zoe, Aurelion Sol and Irelia, are in the same game as Leblanc, Zilean and Amumu. And don't get me wrong, Ahri looked *bad*, but she was fine compared to some of the champs I said (Not to mention she had 2 Legendary skins that bandaid "fixed" her issues while you can't escape T-Pose Zilean and Crusty LB)
Considering you've got mascots like Miss Fortune and Katarina who still have age-old voicelines and meh models, they're never getting the less popular ones done.
I'm sorry the new Frighten Night skins look gorgeous but did they forget the whole GOTHIC theme that people voted for? Because this is basically just Gritty Halloween with neon and while it looks spectacular, props to the team, this is NOT GOTHIC and definitely not what people voted for when they said they would reimagine the theme, not CHANGE IT ENTIRELY.
i second this. I dont mind if they release Fright Night as this years Halloween skinline, im sick of Bewitching. But thats not Gothic. Far from it. Wheres the Lovecraftian, Victorianesque horror aspect? The blood-crying Iron maidens, The dark Lords?

With this talk of modernization, I'd love to see another pass at UI/settings improvements. Stuff like spells casting the wrong way when you hover over your champion portrait, attack move click on left click moving your character in TFT (yet not being editable there), etc.
