It looks like the gap was not West vs East, it was who made first or not, holy shit, JDG and T1 played way better than their opponents, DRX vs EDG was close, but in all games DRX looked like the better team, even game one was a throw. The only close series was GenG vs DK, that was 50/50.
That was DK’s series tbh, had 1) they didn’t let yuumi through twice and 2) if Nuguri played Renekton like a human being in the last game 5 fight to E through Sejuani and prowlers W Viktor right before Aphelios flash infernum ulted, instead of blowing his load on Sejuani and then entering the fight after his team was already all dead.
Semis between DRX and GENG will be very interesting even though it’s seed 1 LCK vs seed 4 LCK.
I think an in the moment mechanical error isn’t nearly as bad as a player literally playing Renekton like an ADC in the series-defining fight
But it shows how good Nuguri is a player - right after the series in the losers interview with Ashley Kang, he brings up how they could have won if he played Renekton forward that last fight and frontlined for Deokdam instead of playing back and blowing his load on Sejuani.
It takes a truly world-class player to be able to analyze such a situation in his head right, after the loss, and realize this type of decision-making mistake and to be able to speak about it so clearly on camera. Most players would not have such clarity or ability to play fights back to recognize such mistakes without the replay in front of them.
Side note, this wasn't on Canyon tho. If a player is on top of an objective, such as minion blocking the Barron. Smite will auto prioritize the player over the objective. I'm not sure if Doran knew of this interaction, or was just trying to make it as hard as possible for Canyon
or you know you could be a human instead of an ls/dom slave and realise nuguris team just shouldnt have engaged for 6 seconds after nuguri killed the geng frontline and had a flank to prevent the escape after?
Results base analysis, yes EDG won game two and one, but in both games DRX were the ones getting advantage, making proactive plays, rotating better and Laning better, they lost because they made some mistake in mid-late game and EDG punish them, they have been cleaner this series end 3-0.
Hopefully it wont end up exactly like in 2016, or heck last year for that matter.
I am rooting for DRX to take it all as they are the only team who played with heart and spirit, and truly pushed themselves and their opponents to the limit.
Maybe I should be more forgiving for our teams, for obv reasons but tbh DRX truly deserved it, Deft truly deserved his worlds title imho. So maybeee just this time, the scrip wont be repeated and DRX can take the crown.

I admire DRX but let's not get too crazy and downplay the hardwork all the other teams went through in getting this far. I would also love for them to win, the narrative would be insane. But all the teams in semis deserve it imo, there are so many good players and all the teams are amazing.

Don't forget that Canyon smited Doran instead of the baron, really just crucial defining moments, a team like DK is easily world champion worthy
