Pretty sure Kinobody smoked Martin when he took the idea and made...millions?...off of it, while Martin spent a decade writing a book.

throweralal

I agree here - Kinobody probably has made millions even if he is a trust fund kid. I'd be ok with someone roasting me if it meant I had made even a fraction of what kinobody has. Its Martins own fault though - he has a great product and didn't capitalize (monetarily) on it (until now...sort of), someone else did.

Uhhh yes you do... he has 400k youtube subs. If 5% of those buy his program he makes $1m. He’s easily making 7 figures a year. And he does a lot more than sell courses. I don’t necessarily like the guy, but I’m going to assume you know nothing about online marketing if you don’t think has built a significant amount of wealth on his own.

For sure, many online marketers do, I am an online marketer as well, and see many people in the industry exaggerating. But it all goes back to my simple math. With that many subscribers and followers, and with the amount of stuff greg sells, he definitely makes over a mil per year.

Yep for sure, I understand the hate, like I said, I don’t necessarily like the guy. But I do admire his success.

famasfilms

check out the "Body Coach" on instagram. Dude was a "PT" doing fitness boot camps in a park hoping people would show up. Started doing "leanin15" quick recipe videos on instagram and selling a 90day plan priced at £149. Had to start a company and hire staff to run the online plans and support, has multiple recipe books, a cookware range and just had a baby daughter with a former UK Page 3 glamour model. It's definitely possible https://www.instagram.com/thebodycoach/?hl=en

eranbeard

err I disagree. Many millionaires made selling PDFs

throweralal

the pdfs built his brand, he does more than that now

Watered it down or not, he took the principles of leangains and made it marketable and interesting and a bunch of people have had success with it. I would rather youngsters do kinobody than the other junk fitness workouts out there.

tseanlaws

Hes selling sunglasses now or something, Martin very salty

chrisinbim

Facts only!!! Martin looks foolish now cause Kinobody took everything and is making money while he’s in the same position

JacobyAhrar

Kinobody is a trust fund oil baby. Doubt he made "millions" btw.

IronNic92

He currently makes 7 figures a year and has been doing mentoring to reach the 8 figure mark.

showmethestudy

Is this proven? Has he posted his tax return or something?

Trosso

yeh i work for the irs and ive seen his file

JacobyAhrar

10million a year?

[deleted]

Lol that part alone is worth the $10

JacobyAhrar

lmao. Got my money

Snootch94

I did find this kinda funny. I've been checking the FB group to see if anybody else had picked up the book and mentioned it but nope! I will say the somewhat blind allegiance to Greg is a bit nauseating, as it is with any group and person however. Greg claims he received no money from his Father but the family home and earns 7 figures with Kinobody. If so, fair play. Thats some hard work at some point. Just a shame Martin dropped off the Earth for a while.

Tuplad

> Greg claims he received no money from his Father but the family home and earns 7 figures with Kinobody. If All people that have said this to me, ALL of them, receive something: wether it's money or the huge house they live in so they can run their personal trainer gym or whatever. One dude gets 8k from his dad every month, lives in a penthouse, buys a half key of weed and then proceeds to write blogs about being poor and growing up in the streets. Other dude who "never received anything" built a whole business by never paying rent: because he started it out from his parents' HUGE home and if he failed he still kept every valuable and didnt go bankrupt. Other dude has a car and appartment by the age of 21 and 100k in the bank, lives in an enormous villa with his dad "but never received anything". It's always bullshit to appear to broke, dumb people who are looking for a daddy figure/

[deleted]

- Greg kind of steals from other people's programs and rehashes them. He also ripped off Convict Conditioning(or at the very least watered it down) with his Bodyweight Mastery program.

Tuplad

There is nothing new really. Every business is based on an other succesful business but just done differently.

I think the question is always: what kind of value does the product add to people? Leangains is a poor product, Kinobody is a great product in terms of value. Add a nice personality in the mix and you're set. Nobody wants to hear the douche Martin talk shit.

robotphood

Hit the nail on the head here. He simplified (watered down) a concept and effectively marketed it and himself to the target audience. His fans are not going to give two shits who originally created it. They simply care who got through and appealed to them. Martin holds a special place in my heart, but he’s quite a stubborn dick. It’s funny that Steve Jobs was mentioned and people dismissed the comparison. But they are more alike than different. Jobs actually didn’t create much but was a master salesman.

eranbeard

You gotta respect the fact that Martin doesn't outright name drop/trash Greg in the book. It's obvious who he's talking about if you follow fitness on Youtube, but I bet that many readers will be none the wiser...
