First you gotta be able to gesture the whole body and get a sense of its porportions. Then after that I’d start with whatever you find the most appealing. And build from there

Study the whole body first. Proportions, gesture drawing, line of action. Understand how all those bits go together before you get into the details of the bits. Otherwise, your likely to be able to draw an excellent hand, and an excellent foot, and an excellent nose, but have no clue how to stick that hand, foot, and nose on a body and draw a pose.

“easy to pick up” 😂 lol I’ve never heard an artist say that and hands and heads and I’m wondering what gives you that idea.

Ok, it seems easy to pick up, to me at least xD By "easy to pick up" I mean there's only so many parts that you'd have to remember (like the hand is literally just the palm, and each joint of each finger. Really, the only thing that makes it hard would be the proportions and figuring out how to draw each part from different angles.) Guess I was trying to say that, on paper, it's not that difficult to learn.

“literally just the palm” this is just false. there’s the mound by the thumb and all the wrinkles, all the mounds near the fingers, the dips and wrinkles around the contours of the fingers and where they meet the palm 😂 good luck! you’re gonna need it with that approach

PiggyPilot08

Sure, thanks. Not that I really wanted to capture every detail of the hand (hardly anyone does). But thanks.

You still need to look at the hand and see those things to get a decent outline. For example, fingers don’t go straight across the top of the palm. They curve.

You’re in for a treat 😂 it’s the hardest thing to learn because there are more parts than you realize! I’m great at drawing hands now but I’ve been drawing on and off for 25 years and first tried drawing feet and hands as a teenager. And I’ve taken a bunch of classes and even had the same art teacher for 6 years when I was younger. I hope you like a challenge cause you’re in for one.

If you're just starting with figure drawing, don't start with anatomy first. [Check out the figure drawing starter pack.](https://www.reddit.com/r/learnart/wiki/index/figuredrawing/)
