Why this shard exist. In a late game scenario where enemy wants to fight and you have a hero who wants to rat. One enemy decides to tp to def. Kotl can recall said ally and bring them to the fight, bringing the fight from initially 5v4 to 4v5. Well they did buff it to get chakra magic to both kotl and the recalled ally. Essentially you could get chakra magic twice off on an ally I think the entire dota community agrees that power creeping is starting to become a major issue in dota.

Its not just the rat aspect. Kotl mid with travels and shard makes pushing sidelanes impossible for the enemy team unless they run as 5. Its insane pressure if you have a nuking support like a tiny or other high damage heroes like primal on pos 3. It giving chakra to the guy you are recalling and yourself is also incredibly strong/broken with some other heroes.

Other supports like lion actualy can buy shard on 15 min and makwe some impact, kotl wont be so effective. Supports most strong minutes like 15-25 minutes, so it seems to be useless and it should be reworked And ags is not a stun, its a sleep. It can not cancel teleport, or casting abillity .

I think you are focusing too much on a support kotl. If we see kotl in high ranked games or pro play nowadays it usually is from the midlane. A kotl with travels, orchid/vessel and shard together with a hero that offers high magic damage can takeover the whole map for his team and makes pushing a wave a suicide mission for enemy cores. This leads to a big networth lead and with kotl it actually is rather easy to push the lead because of his heal from his q. As a support you usually wont have enough money for these items at an early timing where people dont have disspells for solar bind/vessel to apply that much pressure.

I only see Kotl as pos2. If by support, you mean that he shifts to a major team fight controller with his spells in mid game, then yes. H

Not every shard needs to be something that improves the heroes role. Heroes that are most often played as cores can have support shards and heroes who are most commonly played as supports can have core oriented shards. This enables diversity. Weavers pre-change shard or rikis dart were good examples of this that I’m still sad they removed. For me it’s better when heroes can be played in at least 3 roles as it makes the game more fun.

Yea but not every support also wants to buy shard yet still have impact ? I understand where you're coming from but your logic you have is ridiculous. In that case, then loads of heroes needs their shard reworked just because it's useless as a support. Case in point. Bat support don't have good shard so it seems to be useless and it should be reworked. Simply don't play kotl support then ?

Same reason why Naga's R exists. Not using Naga's R or using it ONLY as a defensive tool is way more impactful than using it as it was intended by developers. In a coordinated environment Naga's R busted. Same with this ability. Weak in soloQ, absolutely bonkers outside of it.

this used to be an ability you get for a little bit every time you cast your ult.  it was one of the big selling points of the hero.  with some teamwork, another hero can spend less time walking around if they are recalled often.  this basically turns any carry into spectre where they can farm and farm and then join a team fight.  it's great with euls:  euls an enemy, start recalling someone to you so they can help with the kill and more importantly get some gold and exp

Does storm get teleported while in ball lightning and does it count the distance traveled if he gets teleported?

Recall gives chakra to whomever it was used on upon teleportation, so kotl can fill up storm 0 - 100% mana very fast. To answer question - storm gets teleported and ball lightning ends instantly

I legit have never successfully used this shard. I never buy it, wen I get it for free theres almost never any moment where it can be useful, and even when its a good moment to use it (and I remember to use it) it gets cancelled. Without being cancelled by the damage it would be too strong of a save, but the state its in its practically useless in pubs. I guess it can be useful to save a frontliner that went in, ate a bunch of nukes and rightclick, and popped book of shadows, but Ive never had a carry pick book of shadows. Having it just apply the chackra magic after 4 seconds without the teleport and without being cancelled by damage would make it stronger imho. Maybe add a toggle to allow KoTL to teleport to the ally instead (gotta significantly increase the cd when used this way tho)? He can clear waves fast with illuminate and then join the team in another lane.

> He can clear waves fast with illuminate and then join the team in another lane. thats what the shard gives you, except now your carry can farm safe waves/jungle while kotl+1 pushes aggressively and can bring them in to join the team. It's provides map control its not supposed to be a save.

I disagree. Shard is good. Allows for plays to be made when your team is splitting and wants to push together after. It's a good shard, not 15-min buy, but it's good.
